3501  Economy / Economics / Re: How Capitalism defeated socialism? on: April 22, 2022, 08:07:34 AM
The verdict is in, and contrary to what socialists say, capitalism, with all its warts, is the preferred economic system to bring the masses out of poverty and to make them productive citizens in our country and in countries around the world. Remember this: Capitalism rewards merit, socialism rewards mediocrity. I mean, socialism talking about equality but it is just a beautiful lie , and capitalism is an ugly truth !

It hasn't. In most countries of the world, the State plays an important role due to the weight of the public sector. Obviously, Hong Kong is not the same as France, but if we look at the larger countries we see that they are far from being purely capitalist. The EU is quite social democratic, with nuances depending on the country, but it cannot be called purely capitalist by far. China, Russia, let us forget. USA with Biden and Canada with Trudeau are more socialist and less capitalist than before, etc.

If we got capitalism with strong resets and some level of equality, there'd be less of an argument against it - but that could be closer to socialism.

If we were to do a reset and distribute the wealth absolutely equally, it would not be long before there would be rich and poor again, so we would continue with the same song that the rich have privileges and unfair advantages and that it is necessary to distribute.
3502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Widespread adoption may result to lesser anonymity, one of my biggest fears. on: April 22, 2022, 04:47:50 AM
Can the governments of the world let bitcoin become fully in use in their respective countries without pushing for lesser anonymity and a way for them to monitor the system?

They could, but they don't seem to be willing to, as it means losing power and control. At first they didn't like the idea of Bitcoin, but since they realized they couldn't get rid of it, they tolerated it, now what they do is try to control it as much as possible with AML/KYC laws to the max.

The way I see it, in a few years the use of Bitcoin with privacy is going to be even less than it is now.

3503  Economy / Gambling / Re: new bitcoin casino system on: April 22, 2022, 04:43:32 AM
If you do not give us more details we will not be able to help you. Do you and your boss work in something related to gambling? In digital or physical business? Just to know if he knows the sector or if he is just a businessman who wants to diversify.

As I said in another thread, the gambling industry in the crypto world is very powerful and has been since its beginnings. There is a lot of competition but if you do things half right I think you can launch a successful casino and even more if you have something new to contribute.

Here in the forum you could buy advertising, giveaways and run a signature campaign to promote it. There are many casinos that do it and it is profitable for them.

3504  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fluid gender garbage. on: April 21, 2022, 04:35:00 PM
Gender fluid people would call themselves "non-binary" but what normal folks would call "mentally unstable."

Not really. According to what I've learned, to feel non-binary, is to not feel identified as either male or female, and, in fact, at the conference I attended, one guy who asked a question introduced himself as non-binary. But that's independent of possible gender fluidity. You can feel non-binary and always feel that way, so your gender doesn't (supposedly) flow.

Anyway, I do get it, you think that gender is something quite static and if someone says that they do not feel the same every day is just silly. However, I do not think there are objective parameters regarding how people have to feel a gender. That would read something like, there is a right and objective way of feeling a man and that seems like there is only one model of "man" or "man feeling" (same for the girls) and you have to "feel like a man" similarly everyday.

Not really, my point is that what you feel doesn't determine what you are. There are objective parameters to determine what you are and what you feel doesn't change what you are. That I feel I am the most handsome in the world, or the smartest in the world, does not make me the most handsome or the smartest in the world. And if it's my mother who feels it doesn't either.

I'm not especially rooting for or against this outcome, but it just seems to me that the recent movement on gender identity is mostly pushed by a relatively small group of ideologues, and it's not relevant or useful enough to the average person for our culture to actually permanently shift in such a major way....

The most important thing is for everyone to display tolerance and compassion. If you act hatefully toward LGBT people, or exclude them when you could include them without much cost, then you're being an asshole. But when LGBT people get angry at people for accidentally "misgendering" them, or when they intentionally try to put people into difficult situations as some political statement, etc., then they're being assholes. The most difficult situations are where there is no solution that will make everyone perfectly comfortable, like the question of which locker room transgender students should use, and in these cases it's especially important to treat everyone involved with compassion, not dismissing anyone's feelings as bigoted or unreasonable.

I think basically the same.

As for locker rooms (which was one of the things discussed at the conference) I think the best solution is locker rooms for everyone, regardless of sex or gender. But with a common lobby and individual compartments for changing.

I frequent a mixed WC, where everyone can enter regardless of sex or gender, and I only felt a little weird the first time. Once you get used to it, it doesn't matter. The toilets are in individual compartments and the sinks for washing hands as well as the hand dryers are shared.

Maybe that's the root of the problem, then. For a lot of people there is a distinction, gender is the feeling of who you are, and sex is the binary biological either/or.

Yeah, well, I am OK with that distinction.

And even funnier, there are those who claim to be "non-binary gender fluid" like wth bro, why don't you come up with other names, for example gender fluid dragon kind or gender fluid tyrannosaur. I don't mind your gender, but what matters here is that they want to be legally recognized by religion and the constitution as the new gender. smh

Yes, as I said above, if we were to apply it to other aspects of life it would be laughable.

Yes you are right that mate LoyceV is the number 1 leading in terms of earning merits

I didn't say that.

All good contributors here in forum will be the one who manage a fake this forum still beautiful.earning merits is not a competition the reason why we are all here is to LEARN and SHARE knowledge to everyone cause this is a open forum not a competition.

For you, learning a little English grammar and punctuation would do you good.
3506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ireland to Ban Political Donations in Cryptocurrencies on: April 21, 2022, 06:11:47 AM
And its getting worse too because everyone who has BTC in their wallet might be blocked through the regulations  that are coming. The Canada truckers are just examples of what governments can do that even the exchanges were told to freeze accounts linked to the BTC of the truckers.

I don't like, at all, the news lately in this regard.

That's the thing with banning it, how would you know that it's not going to be still used? If someone wants to donate money to a politician for their campaign etc, they can just convert it into Fiat and donate it. It just doesn't make sense really, why would they ban a certain thing that could be worked around by doing the conversion. They are probably out there to discourage the use of crypto.

I think so. Obviously, we will always have P2P, but just a year ago we were seeing how Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies were spreading without the restrictive regulations and bans like this that we are seeing in recent months. I see the future looking blacker than I did this time last year.
3507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: April 21, 2022, 06:04:30 AM
On the other hand we daily see Israelis torturing Palestinians and there is no opposing. There is a need for equality and there is a need for tolerance. May we all see the dawn of peace Ameen

In your case I am not surprised that you say that because you publish a Russian know scam site, but I think you have a valid point here. I haven't seen anyone in all the time I've been on the forum raise a boycott of Jewish gambling sites (if any) or Jewish businesses. I guess after WWII it sounds pretty bad. So, that boycotting an entire nation/ethnic group/whatever doesn't seem right to me.
3508  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online casino. What's the reliability of the technology? on: April 21, 2022, 04:36:21 AM
That's right, it's very simple to gamble, but what made it really popular is people now can gamble anonymously as we are in the crypto space. Although I must say that some gambling sites are already strict now when it comes to KYC requirements but everything starts with anonymous gambling.
...
I think that at the early stages the anonymity this market brought was something that gamblers found refreshing as they no longer needed to pass complicated KYC procedures to be paid, however as time has passed it is more difficult to get this level of privacy but even then compared to other online casinos I think cryptocurrency casinos are still doing the best job they can to not ask for KYC details unless it is is absolutely necessary, since they still want to protect the privacy of their users to the best of their ability.

That is the main attraction I would say. Being able to gamble anonymously along with lower commissions or lower HE than fiat casinos, which ends up providing a better user experience. The OP was wondering about reliability, and, despite the fact that scams abound in the crypto world, a crypto casino all it needs is to attract customers. The moment customers come through the door (virtually) on a consistent basis, casinos are money making machines and don't need to tweak the algorithm or anything, as they are going to give a better experience and a better return to users than fiat casinos.

3509  Other / Meta / Re: BPIP + Forum Statistics on: April 21, 2022, 04:29:22 AM
Lol, I didn't know that o_e_l_e_o beats LoyceV in terms of earned merit. It is clear that he is the best when it comes to replies. LoyceV would be the best in terms of theads created that are useful for the forum but he has fillippone on his heels. Although the important thing I think is that they all get along well with each other, even if there is a bit of competition to be the best.
3510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Rollers on: April 20, 2022, 06:45:46 AM
...

being able to hit such a jackpot is objectively a rare event ...
who knows how much he will have played before being able to win this amount Roll Eyes ... at least in this case there is a happy ending...

Chances are that in the net of his gambling life he has lost more money than that jackpot, which indicates that he is most likely a person with a lot of money. I have a friend who works in a casino and he says that regular high rollers sometimes win big jackpots but consistently lose a lot of money. The long term net is loss, no matter how impressive big jackpots like this one might be.
3511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does the IRS look at anonymous bitcoin? on: April 20, 2022, 06:32:26 AM
How does it work if you sell at a KYC exchange and you pay taxes. But you say you bought it from someone IRL for 70k but you sold at 100k (hypothetically)

I've heard that unless you have proof, they'll treat it as if you bought it at 0 dollars? Is that true?
So you could end up paying more in taxes than you actually bought it for?
If so, how is that fair?

Why is bitcoin treated like this but buying gold or silver or metals, you can buy for like 20 bucks an ounce of silver, it shoots up to 50 and you sell a crap ton. They seem to be okay with paper receipts so is it really different with bitcoin? Idk...

There has been a lot of discussion on this topic in the forum, and, in the end, it is best that if you are really in this situation you consult a lawyer or financial advisor who specializes in these matters.

What I can tell you is that, assuming that the IRS applies a cost basis 0 for when you cannot prove the purchase price, the best thing to do is to wait until the price has risen so much that it does not matter, as long as you do not need the money.

If you bought bitcoin at $1K and sell it at $42K, you don't care if they apply a 0 cost basis because almost 100% of it is profit.

3512  Other / Meta / Re: Please have a look at this crap (1xBit). on: April 20, 2022, 04:54:51 AM
The signature campaign is over, and this is one of the bought accounts that 1xbit used themselves hiding behind a signature and trying to make that also look like a legit campaign, there were no real users just bots so there was no real payment. Even if there would be a tx in the blockchain it would be from their wallets to another of their own.

I didn't know that. How do you know that? In any case, it's one thing not to moderate scams and another thing to let them laugh at the forum like that.

I don't think reporting bunch of crappy posts would solve the problems of 1xbit participants, it's true he might got temporary banned for 7 days or 14 days. But after that, he will continue to shitposts in order to fulfill the campaign quota.

Well, in my opinion, a bot like that, or whatever it is, should be nuked.

I think moderators should really be taking a closer look at all of the 1xbit campaign participants. They are the cancer spreading through this forum. It's nearly impossible to follow any topic, especially the Gambling board, without sifting through the pile of garbage their participants leave behind. Just try to have a conversation with some of them and you'll quickly figure out that they don't really care about the topics at hand or the discussion they are contributing to.

That's why I started this thread. At some point I have reported some of their posts, but the feeling is that the participants of this campaign, the only thing they do is to litter the forum with garbage. If I find more participants like the one in this thread, who look more like a bad bot than anything else, I will report them in this thread.

It's one thing if you don't want to moderate scams, it's another to allow such garbage.
3513  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fluid gender garbage. on: April 19, 2022, 03:09:57 PM
The one thing I don't understand about the mental illness of denying your gender, is why it is limited to gender.

Well, that's one of my points, although I wouldn't call it denying your gender or mental illness, rather choosing your gender. In the vast majority of cases we can speak of someone as male or female based on biological characteristics but there are cases (statistically few) of hermaphroditism, which today are called intersexuality.

What I don't agree with is: here you have 86 types of gender, choose the one you like the most, and if you get tired tomorrow you can choose another one.

When I say that someone is a man or a woman, I am referring to objective biological characteristics, not to a feeling.

If we do not limit what I have put in bold to gender, we reach obvious absurdities as in the example of the diets below.

I see no problem in people feeling whatever they decide and I think is pretty much their own thing. I think that, in the name of tolerance, there is too much public attention to gender and gender identities, but I guess the reason is that it has been something hidden and secret in most societies and still considered criminal behaviour in many places and something rejected by society in others.

I am all right with whoever speaking about it, I have enough critical thinking and experience of life to decide what I believe or not but, to start with, if we are not talking physical gender, then what is exactly "gender"? Is it, for example, violence exclusive of the "male" gender? Is it caring only for the female?

Now if we are we simply talking about sexual preferences....

No, we are not talking about sexual preferences. Gender may or may not be linked to sexual preference. You can feel non-binary today and like women, tomorrow you can feel male and like men, and the day after you can feel female and only like male-female transsexuals. That's the theory, and I'm giving you simple examples, it can get much more complicated.

I think it's fine for you to have the sexual preferences you want as long as what you do is between consenting adults, but the issue of gender, especially in the case of fluid, is a mental masturbation .

If we were to apply it to other areas, we would think that the person is not right in the head. If I tell you that today I feel 70% vegan and 30% carnivore, it is normal that you would think that I am an idiot and if you see me the next day and I tell you I'm doing the keto diet, you see me again the day afer and I tell you I'm only eating fast food that day, etc. you'd think I was crazy.

If gender is an abstract feeling of who you are...

I do not agree with this. When I say that someone is a man or a woman, I am referring to objective parameters. Maybe you were biologically born a man and you feel like a woman. I can understand that. You may be born a man and like men. It is normal, there have always been, even in the animal kingdom and there will always be. But come on, the 86 genres and changing them as I feel like it is a joke that passes for cool nowadays.

3514  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitcoin.in on: April 19, 2022, 06:27:16 AM
If you are asking whether it is legit then I would say Yes indeed.
Although FUN token performance has not be all sunshine and rainbows but it has been doing well since freebitco.in endorsed it.
Also, the current market conditions are bad for almost all the coins and tokens and so we really can't blame FUN token for all the losses.
In fact, now would be a good time to buy these  tokens while they are cheap and gain the premium member benefits.
#DYOR before investing

@Chato1977, don't listen to this guy. Even though after last year's ATHs, there has been a slight downturn in the overall market, buying fun tokens sucks compared to simply having bought Bitcoin and holding it. When I bought fun tokens they were worth relative to Bitcoin triple what they are worth now. Just look at the graph I posted above, which is typical of a shitcoin, and that of the Bitcoin.

.. can you recommend me some site that has staking also? willr eally appreciate this mate

No, I only invest in Bitcoin and do not do staking. So I can not recommend any site. What I do recommend is that you think very carefully about staking.
3515  Other / Meta / Please have a look at this crap (1xBit). on: April 19, 2022, 06:19:03 AM
User: ajochems

So, I was about to report a post by this guy, when it occurred to me to look at his post history, and I see it's all the same crap. It seems to be written by a simple robot from the first AIs that existed, answering something that sounds like it has something to do with the thread under discussion but is pure garbage.

On top of that, I see on bpip.org that he only has 9 posts deleted by moderators. I don't know if people see that he is part of the 1xBit scam campaign with the red tags and don't report him or what.

If anyone has the time and inclination, you may find a few posts worth reporting in the thread: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny.

Since scams on the forum are not moderated, I think we could report all the garbage posters from the 1xBit campaign into one thread to see if the moderators will ban them for littering the forum with garbage. I don't care if it's in this thread or another one.
3516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Auto Staking & Auto Compounding Project's Future !!! on: April 19, 2022, 06:03:41 AM
There is currently a time when most crypto projects run on auto staking and auto compounding systems. Where the temptation to invest in a very attractive profit in a year is being shown.
What is the future of these projects?
And how reasonable is the investment?

The future in the vast majority of cases is a great loss for whoever invests in them. As a picture is worth a thousand words, let's look at an example from another thread:

One of the crypto's with interesting staking returns is #ICP¨, as it can give you uptill 28% APY (yearly).
Sounds better no?

Of course, it does, wow,  28% APY, where do I get those tokens to earn billions?
Oh wait, did you say ICP?

ICP as in the thing that crashed from 424 to 17$?
So if I would have staked with ICP a year ago I would have put down 424$ of cons and got back 22$ with all the APY.
Sorry, 1% bank interest sounds better than losing 95%.

Wake up people, before you end up poor!

Auto staking and auto compounding to lose 95% of your investment does not sound very smart. In some cases you may hit the lottery and in addition to the staking and compounding gains, the shitcoin will have risen a lot and you will be able to sell with a lot of profit but this does not make the strategy an optimal way of investing.
3517  Economy / Economics / Re: U.S. links North Korean hacker group to $600 million crypto theft on: April 19, 2022, 03:30:52 AM
For me it's absurd to see there are sovereign countries filling their treasuries with stolen funds from virtual robbery practices. What kind of nation is this?

And you still wonder? A communist country where producing goods and services is not exactly what characterizes them, has to end up stealing in order to maintain itself, because in the end such systems all end up the same: with economic collapse due to a decreasing production and a fictitious price control.

Read this thread: Enjoy communism (III) rats eating dead people and people eating rats in NK
3518  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you advertise your casino? on: April 19, 2022, 03:19:57 AM
Yes, as dimonstration says, it would be strange for a casino owner to come here and give you advice on how to successfully lauch a new casino, since you are after all a competitor. Just look at what the other casinos on the forum are doing.

What you will clearly see is that the gambling industry is heavily represented on Bitcointalk.org in the form of signature campaigns and ads. It looks like it is profitable for them.
3519  Other / Meta / Re: Cannot merit that post wtf? on: April 18, 2022, 05:54:01 PM
See the last post on page 2 of this thread :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3369731.0

It may have something to do with it (ignored boards and such).

It’s not something that I recall ever seeing myself, and there seem to be only a few posts referencing the message you are viewing when trying to merit the post.

That was it. I had not thought about it. I remember this thread also that although it was not exactly the same, it was for the same reason:

What could it be? Mistake? (Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored)
3520  Other / Politics & Society / Fluid gender garbage. on: April 18, 2022, 05:50:18 PM
So, a few weeks ago I attended two conferences on diversity. One was on ethnic and socio-cultural diversity, which I found interesting, and the other on sexual and affective diversity, which I found less interesting and in some cases, such as the one I am going to comment on, pure ideological garbage.

I had heard the term fluid gender before but didn't know exactly what it referred to, just as I don't know exactly what the supposed dozens of genres that exist, it seems as many as 68 or more, refer to:

68 Terms That Describe Gender Identity and Expression

So, according to the supposed man and the supposed woman who were giving the conference (I say supposed because I don't know how they would define themselves in terms of gender, I simply want to emphasize that one seemed to have mostly masculine physical characteristics and the other feminine), gender is not a defined and static thing, but it is fluid and one can feel man today and woman tomorrow. But what's more: one can feel like 80% man today and 30% man tomorrow.

Here we would have to include other genders and tastes in the equation, that is, I could feel 30% male today, 20% non-binary, 25% female and the other 25% who knows what gender, but I could also feel attracted only to men today. If tomorrow I were to feel 100% female and I liked only women, then tomorrow I would be, in addition to being gender fluid, a trans-gender lesbian woman.

I think there is no need to explain too much why this is garbage. To begin with, if we were to apply this to any other aspect of life we would think that the fluid person is sick in the head.

These theories come out in societies where people have a full belly and because they have a lot of time to think they come up with things like this, which are nonsense.

Another thing is that what is statistically irrelevant is being passed off as normal. People who are not clear about their supposed gender and change it as they please are, by mathematical approximation, 0% of society.

I don't know if this has become trendy now and cool but it doesn't stand up to serious rational analysis.
