People already report them without the promise of merit, but sometimes people already do give them merit for those finding them. I don't think it should be given out automatically or as standard practice, but I have no issue with people dishing it out for finding them. People would likely just exploit your idea by just using the bots that copy and pasted themselves so that they could report them just to get the merit credit as well.

Report posts with a decent accuracy if you want to help out and have a chance of being asked to be a mod. That's the only way.

Mprep isn't going to leave that feedback for nothing,  Check your sent messages and see what is in there. You might not have personally sent the spam messages but if you were infected with malware your account might have been spreading them without you knowing.

This isn't true and the only real time people usually tag alt accounts is if they've been used for shenanigans or to bypass regulations in sig campaigns or something else. People should be free to have any amount of anonymous alts if they so wish. The whole point of theymos even allowing alts is for privacy and anonymity sake and whether you want to expose them or not is up to you but people shouldn't be forced or even suggested to self-out them and there shouldn't be repercussions for those who are doing nothing wrong with them.

Child boards are just like sweeping the shit into a different room and more boards = more time mods have to waste moving pointless threads in there. Besides, I really think we should prohibit Alt Coin sections in Local boards or at the very least limit them to the larger ones. Do we really even need an Alt Coin section in the Croatian board? There's not even that many Croatian users here and that board has never been that active. All it is is another place for Bounty Hunters to post their (usually badly) translated Ann threads. It is as far as I recall. Think the highest I've gotten was 170. Next season I'll do a smaller consolation prize for the highest score in a round during the season. At least those who have little to no chance of winning the top five prizes still have something to play for.

You'll need to contact an admin about that and see if they accept any other evidence, but the chances of you getting this account back are very, very slim. Even accounts with valid signed messages are seemingly not getting restored right now so you've got next to zero chance.

This isn't going to happen. Staff are already swamped and I think it should be left up to the community to police just like scams are. Merit abuse is probably just going to cause more hassle than it's worth and sadly farmers and "friends" are just trading it or swapping it between themselves and it's regular users who are left feeling the pinch whilst those with a lot of accounts and/or "friends" will just continue to bend the rules to their advantage.

Merit is meant to reward quality posts, and it shouldn't be able to be achieved just by gaming the system by creating crappy threads. Your suggestion would just make the forum infinitely worse than it already is as people will just spam threads for views and it's already the trash threads that get the most views and comments.


This is like asking what is good art or music. There is no definition of what is constructive or high quality. Surely you are able to determine this yourself when you see a post.

You don't at all. People will just offer the Services off site anyway. In fact, people will probably just put all the answers on a website or blog so they can easily be found by googling and that at least will get them some free traffic. This isn't going to work and almost certainly won't be implemented.


I know. If these people spent more time putting effort into their posts than dreaming up harebrained schemes for alternative ways to acquire merit they'd probably already have the merit by now.

What does it really matter if they decay or not? If they don't send them and they decay then they're useless anyway so there's no real use in hoarding them. Forcing people to give them out likely just means they'll go to accounts/posts that probably don't really deserve it.
