It's the free market at work, looking for a bottom. Let's see what happens.
3523  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 14, 2015, 01:51:10 PM
Blood in the streets.
Is anybody going to buy?
I'm a lot of $ down but would anybody recommend buying now?

I've been looking at these chart patterns for years and this is not a trend reversal pattern. It may go up a little but then another wave of selling will bring it back.

Of course the opposite strategy may work: nobody (myself included) thinks this is a good time to buy, which is why it may be.

Well, I'm not sure that a trend reversal is going to happen anymore like it did back in the day, with a sharp high volume bounce and then sudden steady buying.  It could end up being a drift sideways and slightly up for months that finally signals that was the bottom.  Or no reversal at all, just sideways drift for months.

Another thing that has gone on with this downturn is the length of time, the longest in Bitcoin history.  After 14 months of down, even the hardcore bulls are skittish to start buying again.

It will reverse at some point. Sub $10 is nice thinking but not realistic within a short time frame. Nothing goes down in a straight line, so even if we reach $10, it will take some time to get there. I agree that the bottom with most probably be tested once more.

Thanks for the update.

I love a free market.

And I don't pay attention to naysayers. Let me fail on my own, thank you.

Slowly switching from denial to fear. Couple of weeks ago, denial was the dominant sentiment, now we are also seeing fear, with only some still holding on to denial.

I am afraid I concur with your assessment.

Looks like a bounce here? No longer confident in this level holding though. I'll wait for a confirmed uptrend before buying back. On the daily at least. Don't care about buying the very bottom.

That's easy. Just wait until the blue line crosses the black one again (if ever). Picking bottoms is madness.

3530  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 11, 2015, 10:03:03 PM
That said this is probably just a nasty bear market ...

That's all there is. Bitcoin does not get support from central banks or large parties with big coffers. It's like the short lived depression in 1921: all pain comes out very quickly, cleaning up the excesses and making room for the future entrepreneurs. Nothing changed for Bitcoin, only the price.

Can you seriously imagine bitcoin not succeeding?

That's impossible, considering how much it is needed. It's time to get back at the big banks.

Listen to Max Kaiser, he knows what's up

7 billion outside of this forum don't agree with you that it's needed. Keep that in mind when you wonder if Bitcoin could fail.

You just don't know what 7 billion people are each thinking. I like the animated GIFs better.

Seeing how it gets more tiny by the day after 6 years it certainly isn't Bitcoin.

We simply don't know. The rest is just guessing.

I've set my buy orders around $45...

You think the current prices are low enough, huh ? Wait till Satoshi Nakamoto starts dumping...

Why set an order now (unless you want to grab a possible panic dump @BTC-E)?

Am I the only one to find it humorous that permabulls only think price matters on the way up?

First state an opinion and that attack it as a fact. Classic.

For some, price does not matter (especially if you're not holding any).

The best solution for low prices is low prices. At some point in this decline, demand will pick up. Holding fiat ready...

Funny, but it's not over yet and that dark coin should be Monero.

i have 120btc now ,will i ever become rich? Embarrassed

Either you were allready rich before you aquired your bitcoins 2013 or you have stolen the money and lost now a considerable amount of it.

Wow. You can tell everything about someone's life history by just looking at their posts on the internet.

If everything you write is true.
