3521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam in the name of BITCOIN on: April 12, 2018, 01:10:44 PM
that is a naughty title that you chose with the article that you also included Wink

the fact is scams like this happen all around the world with fiat but you never hear anybody say "scam in the name of US dollar"!!! but since it was bitcoin then everyone is making the bitcoin part of it bold. well that is just naughty... and it is mostly because we were in a downtime that everyone loves FUD including news sites.
3522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why sudden bump in bitcoin? It is now over $8000 on: April 12, 2018, 01:04:16 PM
It is for sure interesting. Another bull trap for the next diving?

a bull trap is when price rises up slowly and then starts struggling at the end of the rise. which should have taken at least a day to get to that point not in one hour only.

this is only a rise which is happening like this because of FOMO buying. in the past couple of days that price was stable nobody knew which way it is going to go so they stayed away. and as soon as price showed signs of rise they jumped in hence the huge rise.
3523  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 22 European Nations Form New Blockchain Partnership on: April 12, 2018, 12:59:50 PM
the existence of this partnership or whatever this group is doesn't matter and you can't consider it good or bad. even the promises they make don't matter. what matters most is what they are going to do about bitcoin and regulations in general. if it is a wise and smooth rout it will be good but we are not always lucky and they may set some unreasonable regulations in place.
3524  Economy / Economics / Re: Will regulating cryptomarkets increase or decrease trading volumes? on: April 12, 2018, 12:45:22 PM
Crypro without regulations at first..
It's hard to say yes or no on both situation.
regulations may eliminate scams such as ICOs and as a result it may decrease the volume that goes into them, for example it can practically make ETH useless because there will be so little ICOs left to invest none of which are pumpable!
Btw ICO's are needed for development, some of them offered us unique possibilities in crypto world and if there are scam projects, people have to think more before they invest in anything. Ethereum is great creation and to my mind that reason can't affect it because this coin has a lot of another positive sides.

well, first of all before ICOs and before devs asking to get paid to develop, everything worked fine and there were unique possibilities in crypto back then and projects were a lot better!
secondly i don't know any ICO that has actually done something. i would like to hear about an old one (like a year old) that is now doing what it promised.

regarding ethereum i have to say the only thing "great" that it did was to bring popularity to smart contracts but it did it in a terrible way on a bad platform.
3525  Economy / Economics / Re: Will regulating cryptomarkets increase or decrease trading volumes? on: April 11, 2018, 05:18:26 PM
regulations may eliminate scams such as ICOs and as a result it may decrease the volume that goes into them, for example it can practically make ETH useless because there will be so little ICOs left to invest none of which are pumpable!

but also regulations mean the market will be secure since the scams are eliminated and also regulations on exchanges means the platforms are more secure so people (investors) will feel safer to invest their money in good projects such as bitcoin and that will increase everything including volume and adoption.

the decrease part is only a small part and will happen in a short time and be done but the increase part is the bigger part which will continue to grow more.
3526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All cryptocurrencies are worthless alphanumeric characters dressed up and sold.. on: April 11, 2018, 04:44:40 PM
good mention of Galilei here actually! the interesting thing is he was saying earth is round (just as we say bitcoin as a cryptocurrency has a lot more value than what FUDsters say) and they kept defying him and saying Galilei is wrong and earth is flat just because they didn't understand facts.

the principle is the same, the grounds are different. no matter how many facts you give some naysayers they still call bitcoin "alphanumeric characters without value"!
Well, all you do is repeat the mantra: "bitcoin has value", "bitcoin has value", "bitcoin has value"... but you never provide a single shred of evidence why this is so, and explain on what basis can a bunch of characters have value.

Galilei provided evidence and reason and logic and ... over and over and they never believed him and stuck to their broken belief. sometimes there is no point arguing! and besides why should i provide you with "evidence"? it's already out there, you just have to bother to go spend some time and educate yourself. i doubt you would but if i am wrong then google Andreas Antonopoulos and read/watch his stuff.
3527  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin price reaches $20.000 this year? on: April 11, 2018, 04:36:53 PM
As it was said many times, bitcoin price is unpredictable. We can only guess, and my guess is "no". Bitcoin may rise to $20k in 2019, but we would be lucky to return to $10k in 2018.

~snip~

While your analysis has some good points I'd like to point out to the fact that the next halving is like just 2 years away, so we could expect 2019 to be a recovery year, with emphasis on people stocking up for the expected bull market come the next halving season. That is, if there's no big news in the coming months that would severely depreciate the market.

Nope,
Halving season will not change the price significantly,cryptocurrency always work this way;
buy on rumour and sell it on news
which mean a year or months before the halving,Bitcoin will gets a significant rise in term of price because of halving.
but when that time comes,it will not change the price significantly.
so i believe 2019 is a time for it to recover and reaching another high.

seems like we will see another sideways for couple months, just like what it did before in 2015ish.

you are half correct because you are missing the effects of halving on the supply or conversely the amount of new coins injected in the market.

the first part about the news of the halving increasing the price is correct. that is how bitcoin gets hyped up at times and rises but then after the halving happens and some time goes by (like 2-3 months) we will see the rate at which new bitcoin is created decrease and that can potentially decrease the sell pressure on the market from miners who want to pay their bills.
lower sells or supply and increasing demand means rise.
3528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN CASH IS COMPLETE SCAM!!! AGREE/DISAGREE? on: April 11, 2018, 04:18:35 PM
Which one is the REAL bitcoin according to you?

let me answer last question first!
REAL bitcoin or simply what we call "Bitcoin" is the blockchain that has the majority support including but not limited to hashrate, nodes, transaction count, merchant count.
this definition should make it easy for you to see that bitcoin cash is an altcoin.

In the Bitcoin community, there is a big debate between Bitcoin core people and Bitcoin Cash supports. Both claim they are the REAL bitcoin.
there is no debate and no claims. there are simple definitions. you can't make a fork for yourself and call it bitcoin or REAL bitcoin and expect everyone else to follow you. if you think bitcoin cash is real bitcoin then bitcoin gold, bitcoin silver, bitcoin private, bitcoin blahblah, can also make the same claims and call themselves REAL bitcoin!.

Quote
Core people think Bitcoin Cash is  misleading people and some even call Bitcoin Cash a complete scam.
bitcoin cash as a project and an altcoin is not scam.
but when that is combined with the advertisement of the group behind the project who are misleading newcomers into thinking it is the real bitcoin then it becomes a scam.

imagine you are new to bitcoin and heard some good things about it. you google bitcoin and find the .com website where you are told bitcoin cash is the real bitcoin. so you buy it and waste your money on a useless coin that is considers an altcoin by everyone else.
misleading people and taking their money is a form of scam.

Quote
On the other hand, Bitcoin Cash supporters believe that core does not live up to the vision that Satoshi outlined in the original Bitcoin paper.
i do not agree with all the things that happened to bitcoin and i may even think they are wrong,... but that doesn't change the fact that bitcoin is bitcoin and bitcoin-cash is an altcoin regardless of my personal opinion.

3530  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your news sources? on: April 10, 2018, 05:03:24 PM
when it comes to trading (since we are in the respective board) you don't really need to focus much on the news but on the charts themselves. specially when you are trading altcoins. there isn't much news about altcoins and not to mention all the sources that are on some sort of social media like twitter, facebook, youtube and even this forum are posted by people who are spreading nonsense, at least most of them do anyways.
3531  Economy / Economics / Re: No need to panic sell after the Ban by RBI on: April 10, 2018, 04:27:13 PM
India has always been the last place to have any effect on bitcoin price and it will always remain that. interestingly enough they have a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts who are hardcore investors in bitcoin regardless of what their government says and even more interesting they do it regardless of the price! i remember most of last year price of bitcoin was so much higher on Indian exchanges than it was any place else because of the huge demand that they always have.

and as we can see now, there wasn't really any kind of crash or  even a big drop because of this news. it can show either of two things, we are at the bottom or market doesn't care about FUD anymore.
3532  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin solve the worlds problem? on: April 10, 2018, 04:15:52 PM
you only made your question unreasonable wrong by first copying two paragraphs from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin and pasting them here!

your question is only the last line and it is vague at best. the world has a lot of problems, what do you have in mind that you want bitcoin solving?
bitcoin may or may not be able to solve it. for example is it the charge back scam that the merchants suffer worldwide? then yes bitcoin is solving that!
is it world hunger? then no bitcoin is not solving that!
3533  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100,000 LN Nodes, $100,000 BTC price: 2021 prediction on: April 10, 2018, 04:06:54 PM
that is one of the reasons why i strongly believe in the long term sustainability of bitcoin hence is huge rise in long term too. i see a lot of potential in Lightning Network as a serious way of increasing the adoption of bitcoin as a currency and that is the only adoption that matters most which also can increase the price and keep it up there.
otherwise the speculation adoption has rise but it never lasts.
3534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin use in pyramiding scam? on: April 10, 2018, 03:41:21 PM
Some cryptocurrencies and ICOs, YES. But bitcoin, NO.
A system is pyramid when you earn money via inviting others to that system and promise them for future earnings. There are many scams ICO using these system.
Bitcoin is not a scam. You don't make money when invite some one to invest in bitcoin. It causes the demand to be higher and make the price higher indirectly. But it different from a pyramid scheme. If bitcoin is a pyramid scheme, so gold and stock market are pyramid too.

OP is pretty vague but i don't think he meant to say bitcoin is scam. he was trying to say bitcoin is used in scams like pyramid schemes. and he is right about that part only. bitcoin like any other currency is used in scams on top of being used in a lot of other legit things.
i still don't get the point OP was trying to make though!
3535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency was created to be decentralized on: April 10, 2018, 03:33:13 PM
then why is it only exchange companies that sell it? Isn't the same exchange companies owned by the financial moguls?

i only use a fork for scratching my ass. does this mean a fork is an "ass scratching tool" or does a fork still remain as a kitchenware?

the way exchanges use bitcoin (a centralized platform where people meet to trade) is like me scratching my ass with a fork. it doesn't change the nature of bitcoin it just means they are using bitcoin in a centralized platform.
3536  Economy / Economics / Re: A coin with a floating supply. Is it possible? on: April 06, 2018, 05:56:25 PM
just because fiat and printing money works in a certain way it doesn't mean that way is a good way and cryptocurrencies should use that way also.

the first thing that needs to be answered is that "what is wrong with having a fixed supply?" for example bitcoin has 21 million cap. what is the actual problem that you faced or expect to face in the future because of this cap?

what i am trying to do is to figure out what the problem is before moving on to finding a solution for that problem.
for example one of the reasons why the argument about the cap  exists is that some coins may be lost over the years (forgotten private keys, hardware failures, proof of burn,...) to a point where it may lead to a lack of supply. well this is an exception and exceptions can be fixed with a simple one time hardfork while still keeping the supply capped.
3537  Economy / Economics / Re: China tells people to buy gold & silver on: April 06, 2018, 05:41:18 PM
this sounds to me more like bullshit news and the source of it is kind of strange too, and on top of it all OP is a known person for spreading this kind of false information about anything so i wouldn't take it seriously.

we all know precious metals are good investments but the timing in that market is also important. and the same things you see in bitcoin is also seen there on a much smaller scale.
3538  Economy / Speculation / Re: PEAK MISERY (TM) on: April 06, 2018, 05:26:09 PM

i don't mean to be off topic but all of this chart is a great buy that i feel silly just looking at it!
lets take the first "misery point" price was what? 20 dollars at the peak of it? that is so silly right now and it is only 6-7 years ago and the speed is only increasing so it is safe to assume that the current $20k peak and start of the "misery" will soon look like a dumb price when we are at 100 times higher!
3539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Paypal on: April 06, 2018, 03:14:00 PM
Hello everybody,
I am from India and as you people might know that India has banned crypto lately. I won't get deeply into it since I don't want to spread any kind of FUD.
are you sure you are from India?

All I want to know is whether paypal is a good option to get $ in exchange of BTC.
Paypal can be charged back, and very easily at that and there is a long window that they can do that in. there is no such thing in bitcoin as charge back.
so the answer is no it is not a good option at all.

also i believe using Paypal in exchange for digital currencies is against Paypal ToS.

Don't give me the following shit ideas.
here is Indian local board, ask people who live in the same country you claim to be from what they are doing: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=89.0 Wink
3540  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP the FUD news regarding India's ban bitcoin and crypto's on: April 06, 2018, 02:46:03 PM
LOL, it doesn't matter. it is India today, it was China yesterday and tomorrow it will be another country and another type of bullshit news. it is the FUD that people love spreading the content of it doesn't matter and the market makers are enjoying the shitshow a lot since they are the ones making lots of money from this.

to be honest i don't really mind these real FUDs, the big ones i mean. what bothers me the most is the idiots who keep creating topics here, on reddit and medium and on twitter and facebook spreading things that don't even make sense! in past 2 days i saw at least 50 different ones saying bitcoin is crashing and price is still the same as before and they all made asses out of themselves Cheesy
