3541  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to start a donational fund for the Philippines people? on: November 02, 2020, 04:48:21 AM
"soon you will all know the power of the arcane"

just a line from ML to give some points 😅
Love the reference but I am more of a DOTA2 Fan. Keep doing what you are doing, charity operated by small groups are more trustworthy than most large ones. Do you have pictures of your charity works and hopefully I can see them and someday participate in one.
3542  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to start a donational fund for the Philippines people? on: November 02, 2020, 03:59:32 AM
You can also try contacting @bl4nkcode as he is the one holding the funds collected coming from the donations of other people from their place and to this community. Or @crwth who is also helping @cabalism13 to extend their help to other people.

Or maybe try wearing their signature design and avatar to help spread the Charity Program.
Never thought that Philippine bitcoin community are operating a charity. I thought that in this forum there are no people that will be generous enough to do this. Kudos to the charity handlers and hopefully you will change the lives of those you have helped. If more of this kind of bitcoin based charity is conducted around the world, it will be a big PR(public relations) drive in the name of bitcoin. But the most important thing than that is our community will help make the world a little better for those in need.
3543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to cheat with Bitcoin! be careful on: November 02, 2020, 03:07:44 AM
Perhaps the OP hasn't visited the Scam Accusations. I will advise you to go to that board and see it for yourself have many scam attempts similar to this one has been exposed by a lot of members. So yes, this is not new, just recycle methods to target noobs who will see this as an opportunity to earn easy money, but it is not.
It definitely should be there, and OP can get some merits in there too. This kinds of schemes are getting traction in my country with more people needing money. Good thing that most of my relatives, friends and acquaintances did not fall to this scheme. Hopefully, they should never know of this or participate because that just sucks.
3544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we stop bitcoin scammers? on: November 02, 2020, 02:22:08 AM
The best thing that we can do is educate ourselves, if we do not know something and someone offers it, be skeptic and try to do some research. The best way to stop scammers is to be informed, when everyone knows it is a scam then there will be no victims and they will slowly dwindle because it will not be profitable.
3545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spend or HODL Bitcoin during COVID-19? on: November 01, 2020, 03:34:05 AM
It definitely depends from person to person because we do not have the same economic/financial situation. If you still have the money to spend and push through the day or month, try to hold your bitcoin and wait for the oppurtunity to sell at a higher price. Selling on the other hand will net you losses if you keep track of the money you bought the bitcoin and compare it to the price when you sell it, it will fall into your hands to make the final decision. A proper planning of your finances on the future will greatly help to everyone.
3546  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin dominance collapse ?! on: October 31, 2020, 11:37:15 AM
Looking at the graph overtime, the increase in prices of the present is dwarfed by the past prices. I feel dread honestly that a downward trend over the long term market price of bitcoin. It feels like the coming years, the lowest price of the year might be the highest price of the future. It is just a dreadful and paranoid thinking but there seems to be a pattern.
3547  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Potential business partnership. on: October 31, 2020, 10:37:30 AM
I stumble a lot of this in telegram offering bot that guarantees profit, and talks about profit very well as if this is the only platform that you will ever need to become rich, like all the other are saying if you are running on profit why invite people to use their money to trade when you have a lot of it.
They are all scams just like the OP here.

People like the one making the thread know that there are newbies running across forums looking for methods to  "cheat" the system and make money, you know the easy way to make money. They prey on these people and sell them such malware to wreak and steal info from the person installing it or just sell them a random bot from another source. Point is the person selling it got the money and essentially scammed the newbie.

Everyone looking for an easy dime, keep in mind - there is no shortcut to being rich. It takes time and a lot of hard work. If it was so easy to make money then people would not be working so hard to make money. Those who say the opposite are frauds.

If someone wants to make money in trading, its tough but you would need to learn how to to trade and learn to do FA/TA yourself first.
I feel bad for other possible service provider that will be ranked as newbie in this forum. All of the members have their guard up against this kind of scams that even the good intention ones are gatekeeped along with other scammers. I agree that we should be skeptic when it comes to products and services online and there is nothing wrong with that, to all future service provider trying to sell their services here, hopefully provide evidence of your legitimacy (this one will be difficult because they can fake their details). I hope that someday it will change because each scammers are tainting bitcoin's and the forum's name in the name of selfishness.
3548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can bitcoin be made easy? on: October 31, 2020, 09:54:13 AM
The only solution is DYOR = Do your own research.
DYOR will only get you so far, and I do not think that it is a good long-term solution because once adoption reach a critical mass where the population that uses bitcoin is in global scale, DYOR will not be enough. There should be a time that it also should innovate into becoming a user friendly system that even a teenager can use without hassle. I can see where the OP is coming from with the statement, it should be easily understood by the masses or it will be gatekeeped by the few knowledgable elites which defeats the purpose of bitcoin all along.
3549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain losses over $13.6 billion due to hacker attacks on: October 31, 2020, 07:14:27 AM
With this kind of stories, most developers who are trying to develop cryptocurrency will have to keep this one in mind because if your code has a tiny bit of weakness, expect that attacks will be launched. The only way that this hackers get away with this is that they know that crypto does not track their digital footprint, and even if tracked it will be a vague clue. In my opinion, if this stolen amounts are used by the hackers, it will just slowly come back into circulation. Possible solution for this is to make crypto a little less private which defeats its purpose but the safety will be guaranteed.
3550  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal staus of bitcoin in Iran on: October 31, 2020, 05:42:40 AM
From what I have understood on the articles, the Government will be the only one that will be using cryptocurrency. In short, people might not be able to trade with crypto. I might be wrong though and the case might be that cryptocurrency will be legal for all citizens. This is a scary thing because if Iran decides to do it, they might go on a rogue to secretly fund a nuclear program via cryptocurrency.
3551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Popular Investing Strategies for Beginners on: October 31, 2020, 04:51:18 AM
Good thread and informative for those who wants to know more about investing. The terms that one has to know is there in investing. The best that works for me is at the last list, buying and holding.

A very effective, common and proven strategy that will work for beginners and not. Less effort needed but more of the outcome will depends to investor and how he will handle things that can affect the market directly to his portfolio.
One thing I want to add is that OP should add a concise version of the guide if possible so other forum members can see it. Links scares me because in my country, Internet speed average is very low so I try to mitigate data use as much as possible. I find the guide pretty helpful though, I am a newbie in investing to so this can be of good help. In my opinion, holding and buying is the laziest yet the most effective way for your money to grow, I am currently applying that strategy although the profits is a trickle.
3552  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Time to sell ? on: October 31, 2020, 04:13:19 AM
Should I hold for more time?
It's completely up to you. Do you personally think that bitcoin will be worth more in the future? If so, then hold. If not, then sell. It's that simple.
This is what I am doing with my bitcoin right now and I would like to add that, you should set a target price on where you want to exchange your bitcoin to your local currency. I am still a fledgling when it comes to buy and sell of bitcoin, good thing is that my friends who are veteran traders teach me what to do and what not to do. I also save some money that is seperate from my trading funds to buy coins when they dip.
3553  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scam]: Ethereum Doubler on: October 31, 2020, 03:34:49 AM
Translating the steps so newbies are aware what they are going into.
Step 1: Enter your ethereum address so we can start scamming you.
Step 2: Deposit on the given address, we are begging but with the extra step of making it look like you will double your funds, sucker.
Step 3: You will feel secure because your deposit appears on the transaction table as if that means anything.
Step 4: Wait for 10 hours until you realize that at the end we got away with your funds and you have no way of getting it back from smoothbrains like us.
3554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran Changes Law to Use Bitcoin For Imports on: October 31, 2020, 02:56:22 AM
I'm glad they decided to turn to Bitcoin rather than create their own centralised regulated cryptocurrency. The latter was already attempted in Venezuela, and it did not go well with their coin becoming a joke. Bitcoin us a risky choice, so I'm interested in how it will work out. I hope this use case will be successful. In this case, Bitcoin is likely to be taken more seriously. But I would be more happy if a more open-minded democratic country would try it.
It is definitely a risky choice considering that the volatility of Bitcoin is swaying in unexpected ways, I do not think that they have thought this through. This is something new though, and hopefully if this breaks through and other country see that it works, hopefully they will follow the footsteps. Most democratic country will not be open to this despite being democratic, in my country, they do not care about this kind of thing. They worry more about losing their power over the masses, I am speaking only about my country and I do not know if other democratic country considered the potential of bitcoin.
The scary thing about this is that Iran might continue their nuclear program that the US has been preventing because they were tagged by US government as rogue nation. I think the wounds of Soleimani's death is still fresh.
3555  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not needed but only for investment purposes on: October 31, 2020, 02:19:06 AM
Bitcoin is a form of sovereignty.  It places you in direct control of your wealth.  Some people do use it to gamble, but such people could be considered to be missing the point.

I've never set up online banking, as I feel it carries too much risk.  Traditional payment methods are not very secure.  I had a conversation with my bank the other day about setting up a separate account with a limited sum of money in it that I could access online, while leaving the rest of my funds securely inaccessible.  They told me that if I set up online banking, all of my accounts would be on there.  They don't have a way for me to keep only a portion of my savings accessible online.  How useless is that?

But with Bitcoin, I can move funds from hotwallets to cold storage as and when I please.  The level of security I maintain is entirely my decision.
It is not just a form of freedom for financial stability. Other see it as a cash grab because they invest in it. Both are true in a way because most people who invest on bitcoin see its potential that it might revolutionize the world, although there is still no practical uses of bitcoin, time is slowly leaning towards it. The problem with banks is that they have a vague terms of services and most of their talk is technical jargon that gatekeeps people that wants to try to open an account, there is nothing wrong with opening a bank account, the problem is that they make an invisible wall that prevents people from accessing one.
3556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Central Bank digital currencies on: October 30, 2020, 11:07:15 AM
They need a faster way to transfer the money to their citizens is one of the biggest reason for developing their own digital currencies. Other nefarious possibility is for them to control their citizens although this is just a wild speculation and it is still far from true. The good thing about CBDC is that it alleviate inflation due to continuous print of fiat currency.
3557  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cheaper to prevent pandemic than 'cure' them on: October 30, 2020, 08:05:25 AM
Isn't that how the saying goes? Prevention is better than cure. It holds true and I think that it is an individuals best bet to practice preventive measures rather than awaiting a cure that could not anywhere for the time being. The only way to prevent possible deaths for possible pandemics in the future is to invest heavily on medical technologies, there are revolutionary ideas out there waiting for a decent funding. We also should not forget that we also should promote healthy lifestyle so the chances of contracting diseases will be lower.
3558  Other / Meta / Re: Red Trust Account on: October 30, 2020, 07:25:57 AM
red trust = violated forum rules or do something wrong including scams, fraud, etc.

the reason why bounty managers doesn't allowed it since when participating to bounty campaigns since the participants are the one who will promote the project and if they have untrusted feedback or they are violators then they are not good representation of the projects and might destroy the projects reputation.
This is the mark that will send your account into downward spiral. Try not to get this kind of violation if you can, although it will only be put if the evidences is stacked against you. Do not worry about this because those who are responsible on issuing it, knows what they are doing and they are reasonable if you give an explanation at least.
3559  Economy / Economics / Re: Free rent and no mortgage - new stimulus from US government!!!! on: October 30, 2020, 06:14:36 AM
This is really a good one here and it should be really supported by everybody irrespective of party lines. The effect of corona virus is just so devastating that it would take longer time than imagine for every sector to bounce back to 100% and that is where the support of government is needed more than ever. Ultimately this too will pass and every one can go back to their activities as soon as possible.
That could drive the real estate business down, with no rents paid and mortgages not paid, the bubble will tank. Sure, it benefits the people in individual/household scale but the long term consequences of this is not a fun thing. If things go back to normal, rent hikes will be implemented by landlords and the bubble will be so big that many will go homeless. This in my opinion is a band-aid solution to the problem that they are facing at hand.
3560  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: $100 USD vs $10,000 USD Trading Capital on: October 30, 2020, 04:52:55 AM
I will just put it simply:

Capital doesn't matter if the purpose is to maintain winning stats and no worries if the expected big profit will take time before it happened. Patience after all.
Capital does matter if the purpose is to make a quick profit or having a goal of targeting a nice return within a short period of time.

Either way, both are risky. Newbie or casual traders should not pressure themselves in getting profits no matter how much capital they will put.
Capital do matter in my opinion, since they both carry the same risk, you might as well go on a risky path rather than a safe but unprofitable account. When I say that you should walk down the risky path, doesn't mean that you should do a hail mary and spray 'n pray strategy, you still need to think and calculate your move every step of the way. One thing that can help you on traversing that risky path is by not putting your eggs in one basket, always diversify and always be frugal when it comes to your living expenses, always buy the essentials.
