3561  Other / Meta / Re: Why aren't avatar ad clickable? on: November 03, 2020, 02:07:02 AM
Also I noticed some users have different ads as their signature and avatar
There are not many campaigns on the forum don't require participants wear companies' avatars. Some campaigns allow participants to be free from avatars: ChipMixer, Bustadice but not all of their participants wear advertised avatars. They'd prefer to wear their personal avatars.

Quote
now what benefits is the avatar to the companies buying the space if their ad aren't clickable, how do they monitor the success rate of their ad.
Because of less traffic from avatars, there is very limited companies hire people to promote their companies through avatars. If they hire someone for this, the employees will be very good members on the forum that make sure for eyes attention from their posts.

Payment for avatar is low if you compare it to signature.

3562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you cancel BTC transaction with 1 confirmation? on: November 02, 2020, 02:36:41 PM
Bitcoin transaction is irreversible (can not be reversed), can not be canceled after you sent it. Only the receivers can refund your bitcoin (with deduction for transaction fee of 2 transactions back and forth.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Irreversible_Transactions
https://bitcoin.org/en/you-need-to-know

If you send your bitcoin to address of altcoins, you can not get it back if you don't have private key of receiving address.

Accidentally sent BTC to USDT address.
3563  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you cancel BTC transaction with 1 confirmation? on: November 02, 2020, 03:21:27 AM
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and the cost of 51% attacks is expensive.

Quote
Bitcoin payments are irreversible
A Bitcoin transaction cannot be reversed, it can only be refunded by the person receiving the funds. This means you should take care to do business with people and organizations you know and trust, or who have an established reputation. For their part, businesses need to keep track of the payment requests they are displaying to their customers. Bitcoin can detect typos and usually won't let you send money to an invalid address by mistake, but it's best to have controls in place for additional safety and redundancy. Additional services might exist in the future to provide more choice and protection for both businesses and consumers.

To do attacks on network for 1 hour, the cost is more than $570k (estimation attack cost). One hour has more or less than 6 blocks (block interval is less or more than 10 minutes but the average block time is 10 minutes). In last 24 hours, the average time between blocks is 11 mins 37 secs

3564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did You Face any Problem with BTC Confirmation? on: November 02, 2020, 02:31:45 AM
I already experienced this before especially in some bitcoin wallets in which you can reduce the transaction fee from their original recommended/suggested transaction fee, like satoshi/byte.

You can use this: https://coinb.in/#fees to check the recommended transaction fee before sending a bitcoin to another wallet. And another tip is using segwit address can help you to reduce the transaction fee on sending.
coinb.in has its serious problem that has not been fixed for many months. The site uses outdate blockdata to calculate and give fee estimation.

If you check it now, the site suggests 12 sat/byte.

With Electrum, and with mempool option for fee estimation, you will get 20 sat/byte.
With https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#1,24h, you can see 20 sat/byte can help transaction get first confirmation in 1 to 2 blocks.

In Electrum, if you choose ETA, the fee estimation will be not correct (if you want to save fee) and you will over pay for fee.
3565  Other / Meta / Re: Does the "defi" scam shit belong in Altcoin ANNs? on: November 02, 2020, 02:22:38 AM
I watching this now the last weeks and month also and i guess the problem is that the Users dont know where to post!
Just look around there and count how many Eth or token threads still posted in the Altcoin board even you can see clearly the Token board.
They just posting it , and i guess they will be doing again even we have or get a DEFI section.
You are right, likely. People likely don't know where to post their announcement threads at right board. It is more true if think of owners of scam projects that they don't have clear technical idea of what they are doing.

Classify DeFi scam as tokens or altcoins is as same as classify scam projects as fork or clones. Technically tech gurus can classify them easily and correctly but most of people don't know how to do it correctly.

There are dead altcoin projects try to be lively and build up their future again by swapping their dead coins to ERC20 tokens. What are solutions for their Announcement threads. They used to be an altcoins but now they are tokens.
3566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did You Face any Problem with BTC Confirmation? on: November 02, 2020, 01:44:43 AM
What is the fee you used?

Mempool still has big size (60 MB) but fee is cheaper and you can get 1 confirmation if you make a transaction with 20 satoshi per byte now. Very cheap if you know last week people spent 300 satoshi per byte to get quick confirmation.

3568  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Aurox Terminal Signature Campaign | Sr. Members+ | $45-$60/Week on: November 01, 2020, 01:14:23 PM
What is wrong if julerz applied here? What is wrong if Hhampuz accepts julerz?

The reason company runs a campaign is to create exposures to their brand service through signature. 10 people will make same 20 posts each week but good posters will post in good topics and their posts are better. More exposures for company from good posters.

I do not doubt about the quality of julerz. I am sorry to see your story julerz. It is your decision to revoke your application and honestly I respect your decision. Never mind and don't worry, you can join back next weeks when you get more than 10 merit and don't mind about the attack.

The merit requirement is for automated rejections with application from shit posters. julerz is not a shitposter.

Julerz is a good forum member and reputable so I have no comment about that since Hhampuz accepts him considering his credentials.

What I don't like is giving 7 merits to his application withdrawal post just to meet his 10 required merits. You guys are just escalating the issue here. You are easily giving away your merit just because he needs merit for this campaign. Julerz can easily earn that merit in no time when he start actively posting.

I understand if it's 1 merit for his act, But 7 merit for completing 10 merit requirements is not necessary IMHO.
As I posted, I gave him merit not to stay here, for this week or for future. He might apply here in the future or he might not. With his reaction, I don't think he will apply again here and he can get spot in any campaign when he is actively again.

3570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: November 01, 2020, 07:15:14 AM
I agree with the idea to some extent. I wouldn't say that elections cannot influence the price because we don't know what to expect from Biden regarding cryptocurrencies.

If Trump wins he won't go against it but I wouldn't expect any big positive decisions from him either. He's a strong supporter of the dollar.

At the same time US citizens think everything revolves around them and crypto investors are waiting for their election results. In reality Obama did nothing for crypto, Trump did nothing for crypto, if Biden wins he'll continue the tradition.
If they ban crypto, they will lift their bans later. Do you remember the pump from the East, with Xi from China. It is crazy to see people talked about bitcoin, crypto bans in China in 2017, and 2018 then in 2019, Xi suddenly pumped it. Tbh, I did not believe China actually ban bitcoin or crypto in any days of 2017 or 2018. Manipulation took advantage of myth of policies in China and created FUD with China apperance in stories.

At good time, news are used to pump Bitcoin with the apperance of China and Xi.

3572  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Facebook has banned Bitcoin hashtag on: November 01, 2020, 12:45:03 AM
In case if you are running any campaign or planning to run a campaign on the Facebook platform then avoid using this hashtag as your ID or your page might get banned permanently.
Service discussion (Altcoins) can be a board for this discussion. I only see bounties use Facebook, Twitter or promotions from casinos.

I won't help newbies either because they don't run campaigns.
3573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: October 31, 2020, 03:29:18 PM
When bitcoin was crashed on March, people believed it was because of pandemic. When bitcoin rallied in V-shaped and rallied stronger than stocks, gold, people said because it was bitcoin. Pandemic is here, and it is worse than in March but bitcoin stays around $14000.

2 years ago, every news with SEC causes bitcoin crashes but months ago, SEC news did not create bitcoin falls.

US election, it is important for the world geographical-political conditions and financial markets but will it affect bitcoin? There will be people believe it and some other people don't believe it.

1-hour graph:

The chart reminds me about margin trades and crashes or cascade effects with such a classic candle.

After a very long time, whale was killed with a 3x leverage trade for the Bitcoin domination when it was crashed more than 30%. I did not know there is a trade for Bitcoin domination.  Grin
3575  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Authentication: Types, Risks/ Attacks, Advice on: October 31, 2020, 02:08:04 PM
Ideally sites will show you both - a QR code you can scan with your app and a string of characters you can write down as a back up.
To back up 2FA for recovery or installation on other devices, I'd prefer to choose the second method: write it down on the paper or save it in password managers like https://keepass.info/ or https://bitwarden.com/

Quote
When you need to enter the 2FA code in the future, your app will combine that shared secret with the current time (floored to the nearest 30 seconds), hash it, and use part of the result to generate your 6 digit 2FA code. The website will do the same thing, and check that what you have entered matches what they have calculated.
I got troubles with timer on my device a few times. 2FA works smooth but suddenly one day it was broken. Anytime I entered 2FA code to login account, it failed. I had to check and correct timer on my devices to help 2FA works again. I don't know reasons why timer was broken like that. Could you explain it, please.
3576  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Segwit Adoption. I looked at some data, and we are not there yet. on: October 30, 2020, 01:16:42 PM
For example the other day I made a signed message from a segwit address in Electrum to give to someone, but none of the online message tools would verify the signature, they all said it was invalid because it turns out they only support legacy addresses.
You can check this topic and try to verify your message (Segwit address and not in Electrum walelt) with Brainwallet. With few steps to convert address and you can verify it with Brainwallet.

How to verify SegWit signature with Brainwallet ?

Electrum wallet uses a different standard and you can not apply the guide. Message that is signed by Segwit address in Electrum wallet can only be verified by Electrum wallet. About possibility to Sign messages in Segwit address in future
3577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not use any note taking apps for recording your crypto keys and password on: October 30, 2020, 11:03:01 AM
Passwords or private keys or mnemonic seeds or 2FA secret codes must be stored offline.

Use note-taking apps, online storage on the devices you connect to the Internet everyday is very risky.

Perfectly:
- Wallet creation: offline.
- Backup of passwords, private keys, mnemonic seeds, 2FA secret codes: offline.
- The device and the location are used for storages need to be keep in secret and as much safely from water, fire, landslides, etc. as possible.

It is my great pleasure to work with you in any of your campaigns. Stay safe, Hhampuz and everyone.
3579  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: October 30, 2020, 07:35:39 AM
Bitcoin has hit its highest mempool level since 2017. Stay safe guys, remember to set higher fees if the transaction is urgent, otherwise sit tight and wait for the next difficulty adjustment. These cycles are normal so don't worry!
Don't forget to use Segwit address for transaction because transaction size will be reduced and transaction fee will be cheaper for smaller size of transaction. Difficulty adjustment and price movement of bitcoin will help to reduce size of mempool or make it larger. If bitcoin skyrockets to $20000 mempool will become bigger no matter how difficulty adjustment is made.

It will be a best scenario if after next difficulty adjustment, bitcoin will be stable in price. Mempool will drop back to its normal size.
3580  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies are free to choose the journey they will go on: October 30, 2020, 07:28:22 AM
They do not want to waste their time learning about cryptocurrency and directly jumps into bounty hunting.
It is how they waste their time. Learning about crypto currency, bitcoin, blockchain or read forum rules are better than hunting bounties. They waste lots of their time while they think they don't.

As for the last journey, every one wishes to be a good member, but it's not that easy.
Not all. Scammers want to scam people and they don't want to learn or want to be good members.

I'm a newbie but I'm here since January. I don't do replies nor topics since I'm still lacking of knowledge about bitcoin and crypto currencies. When I read this topic I asked my self for what will I become? A scammer? A bounty hunter and a spammer? Maybe? Or a Good member? I don't know yet the correct answer for my question but I'm hoping to become a good member to lessened those spammers or scammers. Thanks for this topic it really help my vision here on this forum.
Good member, yes you can by:
- Reporting spammers (their spam posts will be deleted or their accounts can be banned or nuked)
- Hunting scammers, scam projects and make reports in Scam accusations child board.
- Contribute what you can from your knowledge and experience.

If you do one of three aforementioned, you won't have enough free time to look for bounties or join them.
