4181  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Livecoin.net Scam on: September 12, 2019, 05:46:28 AM

How exchanges are called as scam if they delisted coins with announcements on their website, and allowable time to withdraw for their users (with Livecoin, and recently Monero delist)?

What will happen if exchanges announce to delist one coin next one or two weeks, and immediately disable trading on their exchanges after announcement? You pop-up and call them as scam, right?

They allow time to withdraw coming delisted coins. You still pop-up and call them as scam, right?

You should create and operate your own exchange, and do anything that satisfies you.

4183  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Livecoin.net Scam on: August 26, 2019, 12:06:51 PM
What I asked you is about Monero. Why you judge them have intention to steal Monero coins from their users? Delisting without announcement? Don't allow withdrawals before delisting?
I don't dig in past story to see what happen with your Monacoin, but judged them scam by delisting Monero is unfair
10 days is not a good long period, but is not a short one. If exchange feel risks of further attacks, for known reasons, it is risky to let it opened to attackers for too long, imo.

Here, when forum ask 1 merit to become Junior member without pre-announcement. Bounty hunters likely lost their money from tokens in campaign they joined. Do you call that is a scam forum?
4184  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Livecoin.net Scam on: August 26, 2019, 11:17:00 AM
I don’t understand what do you mean by saying “the flag was withdrawn”. What if he is acting like this because they stole mona coins from their users and now trying to steal monero?
What did you imply by writing "steal Monero"? From what I read, Livecoin do provide days to withdraw Monero from their platforms. The case of Monero is totally different from Monacoin.

The said asset will be delisted on August 30 2019.

Did you call Bittrex as a scam exchange by their KYC requirement and did not give customers time to withdraw money if they don't want to do KYCs on Bittrex?

4186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to choose crypto exchange? 9 main criteria on: August 20, 2019, 03:42:33 AM
My personal criteria to choose exchanges are (in descending orders of importance):
- Liquidity
- Past reputation: scam accusation or not; if that exchange has ANN thread in forum, OP has negative trust, active flags or not
- Security history (hacked over its history or not; if yes, how they treated their customers, compensated their customers or not)
- Trading fees: gaps between marker and taker fees.
- Price gaps
4187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always Use 2Fa For Your Exchange Accounts on: August 18, 2019, 05:36:40 PM
The best 2FA app is Authy because of its backing optiona that you cant find on google Auth app, once google auth app is broken its goodbye to all your auth codes and you will lose access to your exchange account
The best one, Authy or whichever app, will not totally protect you from threats, if you are carelesly using your devices and not carefully backup your 2FA codes, and store backups safely.
4188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always Use 2Fa For Your Exchange Accounts on: August 17, 2019, 07:31:08 AM
Important note:

2FA is essential for your important accounts. Sure, you have to activate 2FA feature for your accounts.

Steps to secure your accounts and money with 2FAs:
- Creating account.
- Don't send money to new registered account.
- Activating 2FA feature (write down 2FA codes before clicking on button to activate that feature)
- Uninstall 2FA softwares or create a new account in that software with 2FAcode backup
- Using that 2FA code backup and try to log in your account to check that you write down 2FA code correctly or not.

If you can log in your account, it means you write down 2FAcode correctly, and you will be safe next time by using this in case you lose your phones.

It is dumb to backup 2FA code, but write it down incorrectly and not recheck/ retest it, and backup is pointless in case you lose your phones.
4189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i just thought something about campaign on: August 17, 2019, 07:07:23 AM
Check what? You haven't posted anything concrete. All you have done is you have accused two very reputable campaign managers of not doing their job properly because they allow "shit posters" in their campaigns. Can you show a few posts of the "shit posters"? You don't even have to mention names if it makes you uncomfortable, make a screenshot and omit the names.
He is a very knowledgeable and experienced newbie  Huh
How does a newbie can know who are reputable managers in the forum, after joining it less than two weeks?  Huh
One day after joining, made discussion about merit source  Huh

9 more months till Bitcoin halving next year, I think it is good time to look at bitcoin price and halving history in order to make our plans for next months.

Form your stories, I thought you all already been rich, because you invested in Bitcoin so early, before 2015. Everyone has different chances, but taking chances or not, it will make different destinations. I just knew about Bitcoin recent months. I heard about Bitcoin when it hits it's ATH nearly $20,000, but hesitated to start to invest when Bitcoin dumped to below $3200. Now, I thought I eventually bravely enough to enter at price $9500 days ago. Hope that it will help me to exponentially increase my balance next 6 years.
By now, my balance increased considerably with Bitcoin runs last few days, and I am very happy with the King's performance. Today I saw an article on history of Bitcoin halving, that is interesting. I will upload that image in the post next hours.

4192  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos merit sir plsz on: August 06, 2019, 09:42:23 AM
From what people discussed, OP is a merit source, but everyone can be a merit source, if they are good enough to make good posts, they will do earn merits, and become merit sources themselves, without need of allocation from admin. Big or small sources, it depends upon their total earned merits, because they will have different amount of sendable merits form total merits they received.
As of writing, I am a merit source, a minor one, with 2 sendable merits from 4 merits I got.
4193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Dex exchanges are safe? on: August 05, 2019, 07:43:22 AM
The best thing about Decentralized Exchange, you transact with your own wallet, you keep safe your private keys, when anything goes wrong the exchange, even it was compromised and taken down, you still have the full control of your wallet.
Unlike on CEX, when they get compromised, you lose everything.
There is at least one minus point of decentralized exchanges: their customer supports.
If you transactions (deposits/ withdrawals) sticker/ unconfirmed due too higher fees required on network than default fees set by exchanges; you will do make customer supports. In such cases, Dex might give you slower supports.
4194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will some Altcoins not last past the next high ? on: August 05, 2019, 07:28:03 AM
There will be another pump for sure but the most dramatic scene with the next pump is the death of some altcoins you know there will be no longer trading with these coins when it hasn't been moved to 10% since the latest pump. I'm talking with the old unpopular coins.
To say that altcoins are worth to invest at their prices with today's dumps or not, let's consider ultimate aims of dumps. Who dumps price of altcoin? Investors, yes, but they do it as consequently panic feelings from whales' manipulations. When whales finish their works (dumping altcoins to their price targets); they will do next steps to reach their ultimate aim, profits. How do they get it? Pumping altcoins in their own ways.
4195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cash in cold storage bitcoin on: August 05, 2019, 07:18:25 AM
By "cold storage" I am going to assume you mean a private key kept offline. If that is the case you should start by installing wallet software. Electrum or Core are good choices. It's likely best to go with the software that created the wallet you are storing.

It will need to sync, so settle in for a few days at least. During that time set up an exchange account linked to your bank. It should be an exchange that has a business license. NEVER send to an unlicensed business.

Now you are set! Send the BTC to the exchange, sell it, withdraw the fiat currency to your bank.
Electrum wallet does not need days to sync with network, for the first synchronisation time, after installing. It just takes a few minutes to completely sync with network, in my experience.
You are right with Bitcoin Core wallet, it takes days to sync, and requires huge storage capacity. I tried to install and sync that wallet, then failed (due to my computer storage capacity). After that, I moved to Electrum, that helps (lighter and faster).

4197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Always Use 2Fa For Your Exchange Accounts on: August 04, 2019, 01:27:02 PM
It is true that using 2FA is provide extra security, but as other say it is not something that is 100% safe. In some cases of hacking user 2FA is just bypassed, and then user ask how something like that is possible. Hackers always work on cracking such security services because they know most users think that 2FA is some kind of ultimate protection.
I do think that 2FA is good, and play key roles to protect exchange's user accounts, beside security of users' devices. However, only 2FA of exchange account is not enough.
I do think that crypto investors/ traders should do two-hierarchial 2FA protections:
- One for their exchange account.
- One for their email that used to register account on exchange.
It is very important to do this step:
- Don't log in exchange account and emails on same devices.
Example:
If you have an email that always log in on your phones/ tablets, whatever, you should not log in your exchange account on that device.
Hackers can hack one of your devices, but it is too rare to hack all of your devices.
Personally, I never log in my emails / exchange accounts on mobile devices, just for security, and just in case.
(Hackers can hack my mobile devices, when my kids play on my phones, and unintentionally do stupid things, but they will get nothing, because I don't store any private details on my phones).

4200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting into the cryptoworld without investing anything on: August 04, 2019, 07:35:02 AM
You forgot bounty campaigns, those can also be solid way to earn some crypto, especially if you are willing invest some time in it, like making YT videos or writing articles, but even something simple like twitter and facebook campaign could yield you some tokens. It is risky though, as you never know if those token will be worth anything, but its still solid start.
Some to-do things to join crypto world:
- Read and learn about bitcoin (creator, history, units, block rewards, block halving time, wallets, explorer, transaction fees.)
- Read and learn what are: scam projects, scammers; and how to detect them.
- Read and learn what are forked/ cloned / scammed coins from Bitcoin (history of their forks, and their price movements so far, high or low, or death)
- Read and learn about other things (altcoins, tokens); starting with top, famous, and long history; starting from coinmarketcap.com.
Jumping directly into bounties neither help you get rich nor building your fortune in crypto.
