Is there anyone who can write mining and masternode guides for the website before then? All the newcomers that hit this forum next week can be directed there.
BUMP +1. I'll try and add to chaeplins guide but it is pretty awesome. Not much to change. I will create an ami image on amazon that noobs can use , or anyone for that matter, with a guide on how to implement. I would love to set up a Masternode too (have more than enough coins for one) but am worried that i am not tech savvy enough and mostly worried about security ! Do NOT wanna be hacked and loose my coins ! So a guide for 'noobs' would be great !!! |

Seriously, before you sell your darkcoins. Just remember that the first coin with Decentralised Privacy is darkcoin. It does not have to be a mainstream coin. Other coins will swap into drk for privacy reasons.
Be like Gretsky, skate to where the puck is going, not where it currently is. Think about this for the long term. Privacy is going to be important.

this is surprise good news, I thought they pulled everything related to crypto currencies from the store, even those apps that were only indirectly related. I suppose even apple isn't powerful enough to resist the inevitable end of fiat currency. there are a bunch of bitcoin related apps to get but i believe this is the only one for DRK |

I vote we don't tell the Chinese anything. I am kind of with you but at the same time they probably know already anyway hope they do NOT mess up the whole market as they did with BTC gonna be interesting to see if they actually will get on it as it is still hard for them (in the mainland) to get onto exchanges and actually buy any coins ! |

I would rather Mintpal add USD etc than BTC-e add DRK mintpal is the best exchange to trade your coins, and adding USD is more good. The problem with adding USD markets is that they will need to ID people. Cryptsy has just started because of that, as all (most?) BTC to USD exchanges do. It's not them, it's the law. Many people don't feel comfortable with this, so maybe it would be better if Mintpal stays away from USD. doesn't require it afaik Because it's run by a bunch of shady as fuck Russians. Well, maybe you are right. But that's Internet, you know - MtGox could have your ID and deliver nothing and some "shady" guys at btc-e just do their work right at the same time. The easy way to buy BTC (no ID required) and huge volume was the reason for me that almost every BTC I bought I bought there and there was nothing wrong with them so far - I guess that's why every coin is eagerly trying to get there. Even DRK.  BTC-E definitely looks like shady russians (i thought they are based in Ukraine) but i NEVER had any problems there withdrawing !!! |

Everyone should create a support ticket on btc-e to add Darkcoin - I just sent one through then The more requests they get, the faster & more likely they will add it! Good thinking and done ! |

In recent months, innovations have come out of the altcoin community that have pushed new mining approaches and algorithms into the fore. From Scrypt-N to Groestl, more advanced systems for veryifing transactions within the coin network are reshaping the altcoin landscape.
According to a document created by pool operator SuchPool.pw, X11 “provides a very efficient way to mine coins”. The algorithm does not pose the same power needs as other proof-of-work digital currencies, results in lower heat ranges and and greater hardware longevity as a result.
X11 has slowly gained traction in terms of new coin implementation. Hirocoin and québecoin are perhaps the most notable examples of X11 coins. Additionally, the algorithm has been integrated by some elements of the multipool community, with several pools offering X11 as a mining option.
For altcoin miners, X11 presents an interesting alternative that could become more prominent within the ecosystem. Those hoping to increase the lifetime of their mining rigs may want to consider this new algorithm as a viable option. WTF?
