3581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do we see a future where Crypto would be globally accepted as a common means of on: September 17, 2021, 04:50:23 AM
Widespread acceptance of cryptocurrency as a means of transaction is one of the major goals that Satoshi had in mind when he was creating the very first cryptocurrency, which is bitcoin. If i do not believe this ideology from Satoshi, there's nothing i am doing with bitcoins. The growth curve of bitcoin is definitely from "no acceptance" to "little acceptance" to "widespread acceptance" which the future will definitely bring.
3582  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if I don't know how to trade on: September 16, 2021, 06:56:38 PM

Are you going into trading for the money or for the knowledge?
...
Get the skill before going for the money.

Is there really anyone who just wanted to learn to trade for just knowledge sake alone?
The thought that a skill has the capacity to give you money should be motivation enough to drive you the interested person to want to learn well and more about it. For trading, the more substantial knowledge you can gather, the better your chances of making good profit from it.
3583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [scalpers] Don't just join a moving train on: September 16, 2021, 05:32:01 AM
Scalping is good, but for the likes of me that handles a lot of things daily, you may get distracted if you scalp and forget to close your trade, and since OP says he has noticed that most scalpers do not set stop losses, if you fall into that category, it might not be a good day for you as you will run into losses.

I do my trading with targets daily, it is better for me.
3584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin go high the poor will not participate on: September 16, 2021, 05:05:01 AM
I am thinking that if the bitcoin continue to go up to $100,000 and above.  it will be expensive for the poor people to invest. It will be for only rich people. It will be better for bitcoin will not go so much high so that it will be affordable to everybody to invest and have profit.

It's no big deal if you can't afford to invest in bitcoin, Bitcoin investment is not for everybody, if the price gets too high and it becomes difficult to invest in, there is the option of investing in other cryptocurrencies as there are also ample opportunities there as well. I believe a massive growth in the value of bitcoin will come as a result of widespread popularity and acceptance, the effect of the this will definitely be felt by other cryptocurrencies as well as more people will become aware of them.
3585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar supporters destroy Bitcoin ATM in El Salvador on: September 16, 2021, 04:56:10 AM
Astounded by the amazing success of Bitcoin implementation in El Salvador, anti-social elements sponsored by the USD lobby have started vandalizing and destroying the Bitcoin ATMs installed by the government. The Bitcoin implementation has proceeded relatively smoothly and this has angered those who were expecting it to fail. I don't expect them to stop with this. The next step may be rioters beating up anyone who is using Bitcoin and vandalizing shops that accept BTC as a payment mode.

Very heartbreaking, and a show that many El Salvadorians are still very misinformed/ignorant  about the new development the president is pushing, because if they did really understand why the country is trying to dump the USD and how this development can advance the entire country, i think they will have a rethink of these kind of attitude of retarding development.
I attribute this sort of behaviour to ignorance and misinformation.

It may also be the case of a few elites in the society who are not happy with the president on this and have started to engineer destruction and instigate violence.
3586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 15, 2021, 09:11:52 PM
It's very unbelievable that a team with the calibre of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe has cut my betting slip tonight. From today's game, it is obvious to me that the combination of the trio Messi, Neymar and Mbappe  are not there yet. The big question i am asking myself is, will this team be able to find the chemistry on the field of play on time before they are knocked out of UCL?
3587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 14, 2021, 09:05:04 PM
The young Boys team is not young, they are experienced enough. They are proving their strength. Although Manchester United was in full control in the first half, the Young Boys showed remarkable performance in the second half. Manchester players are not able to keep the ball in their possession. If there was an experienced striker in the Young Boys team, they would have crushed Manchester United's defense today.

Sad for those who thought Manchester United would win the title this season. In the first match, Manchester United is performing terribly against Young Boys. The match is now a 1-1 draw. Ronaldo scored the first goal in the 13th minute of the first half. I haven't seen any good attack from Manchester United players since the first goal.
...even though they are far from the level of the youngboys game in terms of player quality but here the count is 10 v 11 so it is very difficult even if they are experienced and the player level is far.

During the training sessions, most teams simulate situations on the field of play and practice those sceneries, for instance playing with one or two players less during training. So i see no reason why Manchester United could not still play properly with 10 men considering the quality of players on their side.

In this UCL, i don't see Barcelona as a contender for the first place, it's going to be a while before they can build a team around a new player since Messi is no longer with them.
3588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: September 14, 2021, 07:33:06 PM
Manchester United for doesn't have with it takes to deliver Ronaldo in his pursuit to win the champions league. Manchester lacks team work. Young boys took good advantage of the team. For me it would have been better Ronaldo went to Manchester city

I think Manchester United will still do well with the influence of CR7 on the team, it's obvious to everyone that the coach Ole made a tactical error removing CR7 from play, he underestimated the Young boys team a lot and they had the result to show for it. But the flaws in Manchester United side were evident today, if it were Manchester city with 10 men, Young boys will still feel the heat.

The coach better sit up, he has no excuse not to win the UCL this year.
3589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling awareness for adolescents on: September 13, 2021, 09:15:05 PM
Early sensitisation in the form of awareness can very effective in curbing the increasing number of compulsive gamblers and people with other vices in the society.

Curiosity has driven many people into many things they didn't know that will later be a problem to them especially at an early age. The importance of talking about these things like gambling to adolescent is very important, not just to expose them to it, but to create an atmosphere where they are free and comfortable to verify from you what they hear from their peers and others around.
3590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Concern about the the problem of online underaged gamblers. on: September 13, 2021, 01:24:21 PM
On the notification panel of my android device and that of many other devices of people in my locale that i have come across, I noticed too many pop up ads about one gambling site or the other, which with a click, you will find yourself in the interface of an online casino or betting site asking for you to sign up and get huge bonuses, I also observed that when using the chrome browser on my cell phone to surf some websites on the internet, I am forcefully redirected to some gambling and betting websites that opens up on the tab as well.

I'm concerned for the underaged and how easy these things have become so exposed to them. I did a little research as to the statistics of underaged gamblers for last year, and according to an article, "39% of 11-16-year olds have bet their own money" as at when published in October 2020.

https://www.roulettesites.org/blog/responsible-gambling/underage-gambling.php

Just like pornographic sites, I don't think online gambling sites and casino's can fully checkmate underaged users that sign up, and as a result, unfortunately i see the number of underaged gamblers worldwide to increase significantly by October this year.

What are your thoughts?, What are the possible solutions to the problem of the rising number of online underaged gamblers?

3591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trader needs to be a full time trader to be successful? on: September 13, 2021, 10:45:04 AM
As the market is volatile and very technical, does it take full time to become successful in trading? or can some trade part time and still make real profit from the market?
To be successful in trading means your strategy works, so even if you are a part time or full time trader, so far as you have a working strategy, you are a successful trader.

In terms of profit, since that's the context i think you mean, full time trader spends more time monitoring the market, that means they will be able to spot opportunities better and take better advantage of them before the part time trader may even see it. So full time traders with successful strategies get more profit from trading IMO.
3592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bag holders of SOL? on: September 13, 2021, 07:25:42 AM
SOL is a really good project especially with all the NFT project ongoing on its network, it's very fast network and it's very cheap transaction fee. It has already recorded an ATH of $214 and has a good potential to get to $400 as it gains more visibility.

As you consider SOL, there are some other promising coins like FTM that i personally now monitor.
3593  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 vaccination becoming a criteria to live in the world on: September 13, 2021, 06:05:17 AM

I now see a situation that the world is changing and is coming to a level where if you don't have a covid-19 vaccination clearence or means to verify that you have been vaccinated or have received the latest jab of the vaccine, you won't be allowed to buy or sell.

Many Economies of countries in the world barely survived the pandemic, countries were thrown into debt from borrowing from the international community to build large quarantine centers, get ventilators which were in a limited supply, get medical kits, and even the cost of treating one infected citizen. Because having the covid virus makes you not just a danger to yourself but the public, the decision to be vaccinated has to be mandatory.

Most people that have not had any of the vaccines have not had a strong reason to, that's why they are being hypocrites of some sorts.

Imagine getting your dream job or finally getting a visa to go to your dream country and its a strong criteria to have been vaccinated or have had at least a shot?
3594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I wish i knew about Bitcoin before now on: September 13, 2021, 05:45:53 AM
How I wish I knew about Bitcoin before now, before my previous discovery about  the existence of Bitcoin and Blockchain interface which seems late to me. If I had known about Bitcoin during it's early stage, I don't think I will be in the same level that I am now.

Stop wishing and start being thankful and commit to be active with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Pride yourself with gaining knowledge and information so that you can put yourself in a better position to win within the cryptocurrency stage. It may be true that you are a bit of latecomer to bitcoin although they say "It's better late than never", but there are still ample opportunities with altcoins and others, just try to be at the forefront of information.
3595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 05:05:06 PM
Pascal Struijk definitely deserves the red card he got with that very serious tackle that has cut short the bright start Harvey Elliott has had to the season. With Leeds playing with 10 men, its a chance for Liverpool to get more goals and Sallah to increase his goals on the score sheet.

Every goal counts in this very highly competitive premier League season either as a moral booster for players and for the league table. I definitely expect Liverpool to put in pressure and press for more goals
3596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: September 12, 2021, 03:47:59 PM
My prediction Leeds 0-2 Liverpool

It should be an easy game for Liverpool considering the distance between them and leeds on the premier League table. With CR7 back in the league and the fitness of Lukaku, Salah will need to perform more and score goals if he is going to stand a chance for top scorer in the league this season because the competition is now more than just with Harry Kane.
3597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from others experience on: September 12, 2021, 02:18:19 PM
Now on the forum, the rules are very self explanatory, don't engage in activities that'll result to you getting banned or ruined your account and you'll be alright.

I think the major problem here in the context of this forum is that some newbies are not disciplined enough to read through thoroughly the rules of this forum before they started, and so they have little understanding of how the forum operates.

Also there are also those who have read the rules and even heard the experiences of others but still choose to try maybe thinking that because the forum has many users it will be difficult to single them out.

For us who have been here a bit and the really old users, if you refer any bitcoin or crypto enthusiast to bitcointalk for the purpose of learning, please be sure to advice them to read and understand the rules of the forum, and if possible share personal or another users experience with them.

3599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading broadly in China, than Nigeria. on: September 12, 2021, 10:19:17 AM
IMO, the comparison between China and Nigeria in terms of trading activity is not proper to me firstly because the two countries are not on the same level in terms of civilization and digitalisation.

In a country like Nigeria, people are still coming to terms with what trading is, the prospect and how you can make some money online at your home's comfort from it. The country is still plagued with some barriers that do not encourage trading activities like high cost of data, epileptic power supply/no power in some places yet, poor internet connectivity, poverty and others. Whereas China being more industrialised, digitalized and not having many of the issues plaguing Nigeria, the statistics of traders is definitely going to surmount that of those in Nigeria.
3600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should you (or anyone) buy Cardano? What will Cardano be worth in 5 years? on: September 12, 2021, 09:26:04 AM
IMO, regardless of the fact that there are new projects now like SOL & FTM, investing ADA for the long term can still yield good returns if you are willing to wait and invest a good sum in it. But as you plan to buy ADA, still invest in other more recent and promising cryptocurrency, it is always good to spread and watch your investment.
