3581  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: September 06, 2020, 06:41:24 AM
Only delivery companies and huge business like Amazon won and earn even more profit
Other people became even more poor

Stock market has gone up during the last few months, and it is not just the online retailers (such as Amazon) who have increased their business. All I would say is that the pandemic has accelerated the shift from physical business to online business. This process was underway for the last many years, but now it has reached a tipping point. A part of the population might witness joblessness and lack of income, while the other part may feel just the opposite.

Ehsan Mani: 'Healthier' to not have next ICC chairman from 'Big Three'. At least someone is able to speak publicly about this.
Common Bangladesh, South Africa , NZ, WI , Srilanka lets protest against  Big 3 manipulations.

Why this all of a sudden? Currently Colin Graves (of the England and Wales Cricket Board) is being considered as the frontrunner to succeed Shashank Manohar, and I believe Mani has some personal grudge against him. What the ICC needs right now is someone who is qualified for the job, and not someone who is selected solely on the basis of "smaller nations" quota.
3583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does bounty still kind of worth on 2020? on: September 06, 2020, 06:15:50 AM
It is very difficult to find a Good Bounty Because Most of the Bounties are going to scam. They did not return to hunters. Now Bounties are like to a Lucky Draw.
Gaining Profit Ratio is very very low in Bounties, But we should continue to search and join Good Projects.

Even if a project is not a scam, the bounty hunters may not receive any rewards if the soft-cap levels are not reached. The idea may be good and the project team may be highly skilled. But if the soft-cap levels can't be achieved, then all the effort put in by the bounty campaign participants will be wasted. No one is going to reimburse them for their time and effort.
3584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BSV twitter account banned on: September 06, 2020, 06:01:24 AM
I didn't realize they had a Twitter account (well why wouldn't they), but anyway, good job!

I have mixed feelings about it. I believe in freedom of speech, and therefore can't agree with banning of social media accounts. But at the same time, this particular account was indulging in all out fraud and identity theft. Perhaps nuking the account was the only effective way of dealing with it, and to prevent scamming of unsuspecting cryptocurrency users.
3585  Economy / Economics / Re: PornHub now accepts Bitcoin and Litecoin (News coincides with BTC decline?) on: September 06, 2020, 05:37:10 AM
Now it is time to get hardcore in porn. LOL, yeah any guy could love to watch porn and there are many videos that are free anyway. However, there could be more excitement getting a VIP the privilege of videos that are really great to watch. Due to identity issue of course not all like to get verified so by doing cryptocurrency payment then this would fit in watching porn getting vip privilege as anonymous.

I have also see article regarding pornhub announcement on 2018 accepting stable coin (USDT) and other altcoins. I just forget the crypto they mention.

One of the advantages with using a credit card is that you don't need to prove that you are above 18 years of age. But then Bitcoin is an anonymous payment method and you may need to additionally verify your identity for using Pornhub. Moreover, many of the countries have become increasingly restrictive on porn usage. India has banned it completely, while a few other governments want the users to provide facial recognition through webcam, in order to gain porn access (the excuse being given is the same, i.e age verification).
3586  Economy / Economics / Re: Will India be more progressive in the coming years? on: September 06, 2020, 05:17:41 AM
I think there is a very low chance because COVID-19 effect India very badly. and India invest too much in medical treatment, so there is a low budget for developmental work

The OP was talking about progressiveness (especially in the context of cryptocurrency) and not about development. I have been to India multiple times (in fact I am a regular visitor) and the stone-age views about cryptocurrency, cannabis, porn, prostitution and gambling irritates me. They need to become a part of the modern world by removing these archaic restrictions. But till now, there is very little signs of anything positive happening.
3587  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 effect on your country's economy!!! on: September 06, 2020, 05:05:07 AM
its right, every country facing lot of financial problem, country like developing countries facing too much, because they have many problems at a time like establishing poverty, fill the installment etc. and the main effect is covid-19 so country all budget serving in there, that why its effecting much

Even if the developed nations are facing any issues, they know how to deal with it. Because they either have enough reserves of cash to get around, or can borrow money at low interest rates. That is not the case with the developing nations. For example, in Q2 the Indian GDP went down by a massive 24%, which is much more than what the developed nations experienced.

Also the covid-19 give the insights to the governments on how well they can handle the pandemic. Even the developed countries in the EU like Italy faced a lot of trouble handling the increase number of patients. The hospitals in newyork were also not able to handle the pandemic properly and there was a lot of causalities.

I was not talking about the treatment of patients or preventing the infection. I was talking about the condition of the economy. It is true that the European nations faced a lot of issues in the medical sector. There are many reasons, such as a high proportion of elderly people in the population and shortage of qualified medical professionals. But in most cases, their economies have rebounded. That is not the case with countries such as India and Brazil.
3588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 06, 2020, 04:54:11 AM
^^^ They are giving 10/11 odds for England (1.90) and 11/10 odds for Australia (2.10). So the gambling sites are slightly favoring England for the remaining matches. I would say that the odds look very attractive for Australia. I would rather make a bet in favor of Australia for the remaining two matches. Even if they win one of these matches, I will end up in profit.

These odds are only for the next match and they changes every minute once the match is in progress. Since England won the last match, the England is considered favorites by the bookies. This can change soon if Australia bounce back in the next match. However, you can bet on Australia and hopefully you will win too.

Personally, I am giving equal chances for both England and Australia (I would have given better odds for Australia, but then they are the visitors). So if a gambling site is providing anything better than 2.00 for either Australia or England, I am willing to make a bet in their favor. I understand what you say about the odds changing all the time. For now, I will make a bet just for the second match.
3589  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Africa be a good place for crypto? on: September 06, 2020, 04:43:42 AM
Bitcoin will not be viable in bitcoin because here the majority of the population is poor, and Bitcoin may not help these countries achieve their economic goals. The use of bitcoin in underdeveloped countries will diminish the role of banks and possibly kill the economy.

This has to be the most ridiculous post in this section. Could you please explain why Bitcoin is not suitable for poor people? All you need is a $50 smartphone and a data connection that is going to cost you around $4 per month. Anyway most of the Africans do have smartphones in their possession. I would rather say that Bitcoin is more pro-poor when compared to fiat currency. You can store Bitcoin on your own and you don't need to pay the banks for storing your money.
3590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 06, 2020, 04:32:31 AM
In the SENA nations (especially England and New Zealand), people would like to go out for the entire day and watch the cricket match in the stands, when there is mild sunshine and pleasant weather. But that is not the case in the sub-continent, when summer temperature can rise to 45 degree Celsius. It is not a very gratifying experience to be with a huge crowd from 9 am to 5 pm under these tiring conditions.
3591  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA WILL CUT HOLDINGS OF U.S TREAS FROM CURRENT ABOVE $1T TO ABOUT $800B on: September 05, 2020, 06:05:41 PM
Interest rate yield for the United States treasury bond has gone well below the inflation levels for USD. So holding these bonds can actually result in a net loss for the investor. Gold has proved to be a much better alternative, and it's price has increased by more than 60% since the last three years. The central banks of China and Russia have shifted more to bullion these days.

Exactly! China is most likely buying gold or gold mine shares as Warren Buffet does. I am surprised China still held so many US treasury bonds after USA showed as so unreliable partner over last few years. Well at least the were not increasing the amount as they did in years before.

Almost all the major economies used to hold huge quantities of United States treasury bonds, as these were considered as the most stable investments using fiat currency. If I am not wrong, Japan is the largest holder of the United States treasury bonds. I am not sure about China, but they used to be at no.2 position. Now they are taking steps to reduce their holdings.
3592  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's time to destroy China, don't buy anything from them ,don't deal with them on: September 05, 2020, 05:53:10 PM
After the pandemic has lasted several months and many countries have fallen into recession, we can begin to imagine and describe the post-pandemic global social conditions, where the gap between rich and poor is getting steeper. Due to the fact that the more money the stronger the immune system fends off the impact of the pandemic.

The poor and the middle class households have almost completely burned through their savings. Since the economy is down, the governments don't have any cash reserves in their hand to support these people. The poor are in very bad shape. And at the same time, the rich have become richer. Share markets are at all-time high, and tech stocks such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon.etc have gone up by up to 120% during the last six months.
3593  Economy / Economics / Re: PornHub now accepts Bitcoin and Litecoin (News coincides with BTC decline?) on: September 05, 2020, 05:40:39 PM
How would the causation work in your mind here? A new website is taking crypto and the price declines. How are the two related? No, there is no cause here. These two events are not related. Further, there’s no correlation here either. For a correlation to exist, there needs to be multiple data points showing a trend. This is 1 data point. At best you can call this a coincidence.

It is ridiculous and illogical to even link the crash in exchange rates to the acceptance of Bitcoin payments by PornHub. I am sure that more than 90% of the Bitcoin users haven't even heard about this news. PornHub is not a major online enterprise like Amazon or Ebay, to influence the exchange rates of Bitcoin. As far as I know, their annual revenue is less than $1 billion (for comparison, the same figure for Apple is close to $300 billion).
3594  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19 effect on your country's economy!!! on: September 05, 2020, 05:30:22 PM
It's not the only country many countries experienced all time high for the first time, because nobody expected this to happen, it's hard to anticipate this we can deal with typhoon, earthquake or famine but not a pandemic that is ravaging the economies of many countries, and right now we have to wait for several months for the vaccine we are all in a survival mode now.

Well.. I have to agree with your statement. Even the WHO had no clue about it, at least during the beginning. Most of us thought that one or two months of lockdown will be enough to stop the spread of the pandemic. But we were wrong. Although it is true that the lockdown slowed down the spread, once it was removed millions got infected and large numbers died. And now it is not practical to re-introduce the lockdown measures. Since there is community spread, it will be of hardly any use in slowing down the pandemic spread and at the same time it will completely destroy the already crippled economies.

3596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lost coins through bitcoin SV on: September 05, 2020, 12:45:36 PM
This type of stories were very common in 2017, when coins such as BCH and BTG forked out of Bitcoin. I wouldn't blame the victims, since this was the first time the Blockchain was getting forked. But then BSV forked out more than a year after that, in November 2018. At this point, I expected the users to be more cautious about claiming their forked reward. But still a lot of people fell victim to various scams.

This is definitely good news for Bitcoin users. But at the same time, I am worried about the long-term viability. Bitcoin fees is so high, and for making a payment of $19.99 or $29.99, you need to pay somewhere between $3-5 in transaction fee. Pornhub may face issues while converting the Bitcoin to fiat currency. And high transaction fee is one of the reasons why ventures such as Steam and Stripe dumped Bitcoin as a payment method after initially approving it.

Many people were supporting Chennai super kings just because fo MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja too had their own fan following. Without these players, there wouldn't be a large number of people cheering for it. As the league is not going to be a home and away, People from Chennai are not going to go crazy just because they carry their name, only a few players like Murali Vijay and Narayan Jagadeseen actually represents Chennai.

That's not true!!!

I am a regular visitor to India, and I have seen a special affinity of Tamils with CSK. Almost everyone in Tamil Nadu support the Chennai Super Kings, and equate it with their own state team. And CSK do have a fair number of Tamil players in its squad. Murali Vijay and Jagadeesan are not the only ones. Onl thing is that they are not contracted by the CSK. But they do travel and train with the other members of the CSK squad.
3600  Economy / Economics / Re: China is winning the Economy Wars on: September 05, 2020, 07:10:35 AM
only a few countries understand China's bad plan..  I can say that currently, China is trying to colonize several countries that have great potential (natural resources) for them to control.  China started the trick by becoming a savior (investor) in a country and slowly eating away at that country, many countries in Southeast Asia have become borrowers of funds from China, it's just a matter of waiting for a few time again for their actual plans to be launched..

What about the other colonial powers such as the United States, United Kingdom and France? They have been doing the same to the developing world for the past many decades. All this outcry against Chinese investment is because they are providing much better deals for the developing nations, when compared to those offered by the US or the UK. You want to talk about the Chinese colonizing smaller nations, but at the same time you won't speak against the Americans who have military bases in more than a hundred countries.
