I have an U3 and I'm currently getting an average of 40 GH/s. Is it safe to overclock it? And which parameter do you guys reconmend?  Smiley

You don't need any parameters with the latest cgminer.

right ordered a tp link , but still cant get windows to see it for what it is  Undecided
i`m getting a few ghs out of it and a lot of
HEXM 0 CHIP 0,1,2,3 last received nonce 2 secs ago reset
 and it see`s
0: HEXM 0  : 1016  805/0802mv 20.12gh ....... this is on cgminer technobit win 0-3-8
i`m using 2 cm750m to power, (but can mod a 2kw server psu)
i`m a bit concerned because its a 2hex4m but i can only see 1 on cgminer screen
anyone got any ideas???
thanks mike

Seem like wrong setting. Can you post your setting?
There is 2 board in there hence you will need 2 usb cable(1 usb cable per board) to connect 2hex4m to HOST.
If using TPLINK TL-MR3020 you will need powered usb hub.

marto just told me to use an unpowered hub for my 8*hex4m in another topic!

There appears to be a bit of draw via USB on these, so I'd put them on a powered hub. Doesn't have to be a beastly one, but a few amps wouldn't hurt.

I am sorry for the dumb question, but I have been looking for how to and can not seem to find it.

First I have a S4 it was way to loud where it was so I decided to under clock it. Not really in it for the money.

I typed in freq 125 and voltage  0630 exactly on the adjustment page.

Without me doing anything it started hashing at the lower rate, and after about 5 Min it started beeping so I turned it off and back on.  Now it started the fans run really high and the display showed 127.0.0.1.

So I downloaded the firmware from Bitmain, unzipped it and copied it to the sd card, now it just spins the fan really fast.

I tried to use winimage but it keeps looking for a floppy drive?Huh

Can someone please tell me or point me to a link that details how to do this on a windows 8.1 machine?

Be gentle I am 67 years old and trying a new hobby.

I also have a C1 that needs flashed as it wont work either

Barbara

Don't unzip anything, redownload it. Then use a program called sd card imager to load the image onto the SD card.

Your first step is to google “Dogie's Miner Setup Guides” and go from there. Overall, it took about an hour to glean information and setup the first miner, then only about 5 minutes on the next.

It might be Sushi but I'm not sure he sells on Amazon. Either way whoever is listing them on Amazon keeps infringing on my copyright.

He is referencing  your guides and to search on google. There is nothing that infringes your copyrights there or nothing ethically wrong with that in and of itself. The post is publicly accessible. If he is using your photos then yes he is infringing your copyrights. BUT You also have not attributed your photos to any kind of copyright license. Whether it be Creative Commons or any other kind. And a poor mans copyright is notoriously difficult to hold up in court. That said if it's an issue contact amazon and let them sort it out.

No not the post..... the pictures, all the Antminer stuff on Amazon (apart from U3 for now) use my pictures which are NOT provided under CC. I have contacted Amazon, after weeks of waiting they just tell you to have your lawyer contact their lawyer, ie "no".

Are the pictures officially copyrighted? If you demonstrate that you have them copyrighted with paperwork then explain to Amazon that they are enabling copyright infringement they will quickly drop the entry. Just stating the work is yours is not enough. You have to show them that there is a legal copyright for the photos for them to take action on it. And of course drop the not-so-subtle you are enabling copyright infringement line, that might make them consider it. Worst case you can go to social media and make it a thing, the PR nightmare from that for them will be enough for them to take action. Up to  you of course how far you want to protect your copyright.

Yes I have, they just don't do anything for weeks. You prompt them again, they say send the information again - to different people. If you don't contact them via a solicitor's letter then they don't care. Then there is the 5 or so global Amazon sites to deal with...

Does it matter? Its his forum and his liability, he's free to choose what he allows or doesn't in terms of advertising. He doesn't need a concrete reason.

Received a DOA unit today.

You just posted a screenshot of it running @ 1TH, how is that DOA?

I'd love to troubleshoot, but the lack of information is holding me back. Can I manually flash the firmware some how without accessing the unit via IP? Is there a hard reset button somewhere?

There is information EVERYWHERE about that, in the #2 post, in the Bitmain guide, in my guide. You can use the reset button or reflash the SD card using the image in #2 post.

These were the pool settings that were in the rig before I had a chance to even flash it. So to top it off, it seems like it was a used piece of hardware also. And I could only wish to get that hash rate. Won't budge over 500.

That's just the defaults on the image I made in post #2 [so we know they work]. It does not mean its used, unless I have been cloned in China. tldr, its not preowned.

Since when did they start combining two fans into one connector???

That's systech and I doubt they manually require fans when they already make the harness.

what size is the tubing on the c1?

8mm ID, ~10mm OD.

Its a scam, you already knew it is.
3593  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 06, 2014, 10:07:41 AM
Hi,
I have not had any luck getting my new C1 running.  I have worked with liquid cooling before that is all well and good.
First I am running a 1200W Termaltake   PS with 8 PCI plugs, so I have power.

The instructions for the cooling says to plug it in inside the box, I open the box and well there are no pci plugs in there.
So on here somewhere I read to use a plug on the C1 and only 4 power cables,  So I put only 4 plugs and try to start the miner.  I plug the cooling system into one of the available ports on the C1

I have a s3 so I know that the red light comes on when it is booting then the green light when it is hashing.\

The red light does not come on, the green light does not come on,

The green and yellow lights on the Ethernet cable are flashing that is all.

I am unable to contact it via the interface/  Since its not running that is not surprising.

Sometimes there is a blue light coming through the reset whole. sometimes just a red light from inside the case.

My watt meter says I am drawing a whole 109 watts at the wall.  The fan and the pump are running but the fan inside the C1 is not running

Suggestions

Barbara

Try powering just the C1 (don't let it mine, ie network to your laptop and not router) to see what happens. I don't like the sound of a TTake PSU.
3594  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: December 06, 2014, 10:05:57 AM
Got the RMA pump from syscooling today....no tracking #, no email, but unit arrived about 10 days after acknowledgement by syscooling...very well packaged.

I waited 3 weeks and nothing... then finally contacted credit card.   I suggest getting a new pump elsewhere and doing syscoolinng rma at same time.  You will be much happier then the downtime with them.

Huh Not sure how you still expect them to provide a replacement when you've already refunded your credit card AND paypal payments.

drug addiction is in itself a disease

Taking drugs for the first time is a choice, not a disease. Even if its 'hard to get out', he still put himself 'in'.
3596  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain Antminer S3 Setup [HD] on: December 05, 2014, 06:05:27 PM
Good morning Dogie,

Just curious if you know anything yet about my issue.

It's obvious we have an update on these new S3's compared to older ones I bought in September.  These new ones even have the option like the S4's that allow one to adjust the voltage.

Since it is like the S4, let me ask an S4 question that might answer my S3 question:

If we press the reset with a paper clip on an S4, will it replace the pools we set it up with to pools it comes set up with in the factory?

If it does not reset the pools to factory set pools, that may explain why my new S3's keep the same pool I set them up for when I reset them.  Because my older S3's reset EVERYTHING; including the network settings; and they do not have the option to set the voltage.

Should we do a firmware update on the older S3+ if our S3+ does not adjust the voltage?

I don't know why your new units are not resetting, but the newer firmwares won't break any older revisions.

Wow!

So, when we reset the new S4's, do they erase the pools we set them up for to factory set pools?

Also, does this mean I should tell bitmain and arrange for a return of my two new S3's?

Do the S3's have an SD card like the S4?  If so, should I eject it and put it back in to see if they will reset?

Yes it does erase, no you shouldn't arrange a return because nothing is wrong. S3s don't have SD cards unless you've got something very different.

3598  Other / Meta / Re: Whitelist major photosharing sites past the image proxy? on: December 05, 2014, 03:02:34 PM
imgur works perfectly fine for me when i try to imbed images.

The image is first downloaded by the forum's image proxy, which is what you request to view it. Works 90% of the time, but it has additional restrictions on file size, load time and every now and then goes full derp and selectively displays content.

Which is particularly interesting because the forum earns much more than enough money to afford infrastructure for a decent image proxy..

The infrastructure would get a free 'upgrade' simply by whitelisting a few trusted image sites and removing the duplication of work.

Hello All

How the bitcointalk script calculate the Total time logged in: 15 days, 13 hours and 41 minutes? is the calculation done by the actual time you spend in the forum or it depends on how many posts you read per min .

Thanks

It will be if you've accessed a page in the last x minutes, count as online.
