so, explain the motive, dogie, oh ye of bitmaintech lapdoggie  Cheesy

Bitmain have been about 10 points lower than they used to be since I started doing work from them, and are rank #4. Next idea.

The fact that your employer got their deserve ranking,
while their biggest competition ranking is skew-iff, does raise questions
SP ranking is skewed since you are a BMT employee, put 100 Sp-Tech.  Grin

Let me get this straight, you're saying that because I lowered the score of a company I've done work for, that I am biased on behalf of that company? By putting 3 other companies above them? Okay.

lowering it in the first place, aye.

I need your help!  Grin

And you should also try to remake this guide since the avalon change a lot.

4 X 6 Pcie and its now black.

Firmware is different (if you can install it)  Tongue

That is not substantially different. Please don't post the same question in SIX different places, especially when you ask me to come online only to find you offline within 10 minutes of your emails.

Sorry man it was 2 am here!  Grin

I do need your help!
I got it but not sure about the pi os that I can put in it.

I try to follow you link but there a lot of img file.

Which one do I take ?

I got this img and I did put it on the raspberry pi. But the miner is not mining.

seems they want to price in BTC but adjust the USD price manually. Not sure why they do tha

You've seen what happens when the price changes once while someone is mentally locked into buying, imagine what would happen if that price kept changing every 2 minutes?

  • SpondooliesTech Preorders up from 'Yes' to 'Mix' (1 to 8]. *Although SpondooliesTech is currently selling out of hand, they have not yet demonstrated that their business model can support this into the next generation. On the announcement of next gen preorders, this rating will return to 'Yes'. On the announcement of next gen in hand / batch sales, this rating will increase to 'Batch' or 'No'.

In general, I believe you're doing a decent job with the guide.
Regarding our score, we're currently selling from stock all our products line. It seems to me a bit unfair and last minute change of your scoring criteria.
Dogie,
I strongly believe we should get 100 by your criteria. It seems that you avoid publishing an update or come up with new criteria like the above just to avoid what should be rightfully our score by your criteria.

Guy

And what motive would I have for that?

I can assure you that it DID change. Could someone from BitmainTech actually take this seriously instead of trying to sidestep this.

I suggest you send a PM to Bitmain_Janet. She seems to be the magic person that correct situations like this.

She's most likely the one answering the emails as the english is good. By what method did you pay?

There hasn't been any aggrieved customers

Undecided If you're such a martyr why don't you sue them on behalf of all those aggrieved customers then? Or report them to law enforcement. I'm not sure what you expect me to do about any of this, I'm just sitting here trying to help Ares customers.
They are violating the GPL by not releasing their cgminer source code(which probably shows how they were faking stats).

Its default code, its already been released for those boards.
As ckolivas had said its not AFAIK, at least on the miner with impossible stats(ZEUS I think?) which they still seem to be selling.

It appears your miners run cgminer? What driver do they use, and if it's your own driver, where is the source code to your driver?

HashCoins Apollo, Zeus and Poseidon (discontinued) miners are indeed built using HashFast's chips on a custom PCB, redesigned and upgraded from those of HashFast.
The previous version of our web-interface is based upon cgminer, that's why we have no reason to publish the source, because it is the same.

Also dogie you said "Water + copper + aluminium = galvanic corrosion = no go for C1s" well the coolant you suggested, that Ironside brand from Amazon is just distilled water and a biocide premix. What's the difference with me using my own distilled water?

Its not ideal but its double distilled and then sealed, which will get you further than mixing distilled solutions up.

When I look at your pictures, it appears that your power supply is using one cable, with two PCIE connectore, for each hashing board. That would suggest that each power cable is handling roughly 270 watts. Are the PCIE cables or connectors hot when the S5 is running at full speed. That seems like it's about the limit of what you would want on a PCIe power cable, no? Maybe I don't really understand what a PCIE cable can deliver.

Just a thought.

260W is fine. That cable has 2x PCI-E 8 pin connectors on so must be able to handle at least 2x 150W.

Is it just me or do these mining boards look very similar to BFL's Monarch???

Only in as much as they are both rectangles and both use a few high power chips.

Please consider filling out a quick survey about my guides to help improve them! You'll be entered into a raffle to win 2x $20 vouchers as a thank you.

YEY!!! I got my first payout this weekend.  I am using Eligius.  Now I see that we can enter more than one pool time.  My question is will this help or hinder mining. My thought process here is that if I mine more than one pool than my BitCrane miner resources are no longer dedicated to one place and mining would be slower.  Is that right or wrong?

It will not make a difference, as those other pools act as backups should the first one ever go down. It does not load balance.
2597  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 27, 2015, 05:28:22 AM
Are there any recommended fan replacements from the default ones?? The C1 is a little nosier than they said it would be.

Huh? Noisy? They aren't noisy at all.

They can get noisy if temps go up, such as one radiator blowing directly into another. I'd recommend adding some quiet 120mm fans to the back of the radiator / trying to give it better / cooling airflow than touching the units fan. That itself will reduce noise, hopefully sufficiently what you want.
2598  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: January 27, 2015, 05:17:33 AM
you diluted too much the fluid or it does not have enough alcohol or glycol in it
look for some biocide or antimicrobial or anti algae
i use vodka Grin

Nothing was diluted. The coolant came pre-mixed with a biocide already in it. No mixing.

And the best thing I heard is distilled water and then using those silver shards. I heard someone ran a system for 5 years without replacing the coolant. I think that's what I'm going to try.

Water + copper + aluminium = galvanic corrosion = no go for C1s. Nothing to stop you adding a silver shard to your current setup as far as I'm aware. Do put a sponge in there as well, the last thing you want is the pump to ingest it Tongue

I want to get my one problematic C1 fixed. If I tighten the fill hole on top of the pump it will start leaking and build so much pressure and possibly blow the loop. If I keep the fill hole open, no leaks. What is the easiest way to troubleshoot and find out if this system has a leak or a small hole somewhere sucking in air? Air HAS to be getting into the system somehow. I'm willing to run, if possible, the entire miner out of the black box, but there seriously is a problem. For warranty purposes the only thing I could do is tighten the fill hole and then when it starts to build enough pressure and make noise I'll record a small video showing me opening the fill hole.

Is there anyplace the coolant can leak out while inside the aluminum block, or just in the front where they connect with that little rubber hose?

I could be wrong on this so Dogie please confirm.   But I believe the block should not have a spot to leak out.   The two holes should be it on where it allows coolant out.

Looking at the pictures I can't see a seaon on the block, but at the same time I can't see any other way they'd be manufactured. They should be two pieces of flat plate, routed out then sealed together but there is no evidence of that. So.... investment cast? To answer your question then, it doesn't look like it.

But either way, if you're leaking from the block you should see coolant in the bottom of the case, even if its only a stain.

As of now sp20 is a much better choice by the simple fact that it costs a lot less and you get much better GH/s per BTC, the S5 could be a better choice if the price was right but it is not.

Currently the only point of comparison is the SP20. So consider these 3 questions for a second.

1) Which miner looks like it costs more to manufacture?
2) If Bitmain is not willing to sell at such a low price consistently, is there a reason for that?
3) How sustainable is the more expensive to make miner in the long run?
