361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you send bitcoins to Satoshi, if you know his Bitcoin address? on: October 27, 2018, 01:43:55 AM
If I became a millionaire because of bitcoin. I would have given him a bit of it. But if the case is that he needed my help.

I think this is true. If he doesn't want it why would I give it? It will be a waste of effort and money.

Plus come to think of the fact that if Satoshi doesn't have a hold on those address anymore, or he has forgotten the keys, then that would be bitcoin supply wasted.
362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China giving importance to Blockchain? on: October 27, 2018, 01:35:51 AM
Chinese will want to have a bit of everything and then be good at it. Examples are the great technologies from Germany and Europe. They imitate it and let Germany and Europe verify and test it.

In these kinds of technology, large countries like China wouldn't just wait, they would want a piece of the cake.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Cracked the wallet and stole the BTC on: October 27, 2018, 01:30:20 AM
Instead of being sympathetic you are making fun of him.  I think it is not human behavior.
If we can not co operate / help someone; we must must not make fun of them.
I don't think they were making fun of the OP... it is a simple case of misunderstanding due to language issues.

The OP has set the thread title as: "Cracked the wallet and stole the BTC". Because of the word tense used, it implies that the OP "cracked the wallet" and that the OP "stole the BTC". Based on the other grammatical quirks in the OPs posts, I'd say it was a bad "Google translate" or similar. The thread title should have been:

"My wallet was cracked and my BTC was stolen"

In any case, as we all know, once the coins are gone... they're gone. Your chances of ever finding the culprits are fairly slim... and as bob123 has pointed out, without the appropriate information, no-one here will be able to provide any answers... a transaction ID is not enough.

I agree I can't understand what's happening here I was dragged here because of the title.

Could be someone has access to his email address. But if its 2FA, is it going to prompt only the email? Or maybe he doesn't have the mobile number configured on that wallet.

It's a bit of, an offline wallet or a online hot wallet in my head.
364  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin and global warming on: October 25, 2018, 07:37:28 PM
1. I think our main problem is the huge electricity expense induced by mining and its noxious effect on the climate. This is, to my mind, the only serious argument against Bitcoin.
Alleviating the electricity expense should be one of our priorities.
....

1. Not even close. If you compare bitcoin mining to the electric consumption for the biggest malls in China you will be amazed how puny the numbers behind bitcoin mining are. If you're going to compare the pollution and add naval shipment in the equation you will find out that bitcoin is the LAST of our problems.
...

1. If this is the case, still we need to make bitcoin green. To help the earth. Or are we, "they're bigger sue them first".

I agree with the usage of more greener electricity sources like wind, water, and sun. We should take part of the responsibility because we live on the same earth.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin provided opportunity for Kenyan "crypto-pioneer" on: October 25, 2018, 07:28:09 PM
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-45889707

Ms Wambugu started trading in Bitcoin two years ago and and within a year she made enough money to buy the two-storey Nyeri hotel, which she converted to Betty's Place, her bbq restaurant. She also teaches customers how to trade and use Bitcoin.

Africa will represent blockchain's ability to democratize opportunity even for the geographically challenged. Once smartphone use and internet access expands, 350 million Africans are going to be able to do the same thing.

She got out first of the dip? Good for her.

This is some of the good things bitcoin provides us. It can provide more in the few years to come. Simply holding bitcoin for years will yield you real profits.
366  Economy / Economics / Re: Is this the correct time to purchase bitcoins and al-crypto? on: October 25, 2018, 07:23:54 PM
Very few of us have seen first rise and nose-dive of bitcoin. Then came the tremendous growth report of bitcoin which forced the world to take bitcoin and alt-coin seriously. This tremendous growth soon started to get correctly. That is from 16000 USD to ~6200 USD correction has happened so far. As as of now the prices have remained stable about 6000 USD.

Do you think this the better time to go for bitcoin purchase spree again? As from the bitcoin price history bitcoin has shown tendency to spike periodically.
Considering the bitcoin  novelty has worn off across the glob, Now there is sufficient awareness about the bitcoin and crypto. what could be the driving factors If yes then what could be the driving factors for the growth? As previous factors may be less significant this time.

Could be new BIPs. I would like to see improvement on how we see the ledger of bitcoin. It is so much confusion. Even in blockchain.info I rarely get the idea of transfers in a glance.

368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it still worth mining bitcoin in 2018 ? on: October 24, 2018, 07:37:53 PM
My question is if it's still worth buying Asic's and start mining BTC in 2018.

If not mine BTC what other coin is it worth to mine nowadays?
MIning is not advisable these days because of the continuous dropping of market values this means that what you can only gather is enough amount to pay for electricity and the maintenance of your computers so for me better find another option of gaining than mining, maybe investing in ico but with extra care,or holding coins for long term strategy

Just what I'm thinking of. If the price of bitcoin's plummet and price of electricity is going down all in all the profit is close to nothing. Plus the fact that algorithm nowadays gets hard because it closes the max cap.

Well if we are looking for the fact that it is bitcoin and it will be worth it in the long run. Maybe we can try.
369  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Try our white label DEX (decentralized exchange) on: October 24, 2018, 07:23:47 PM
If you got ideas for a  better screen, kindly be specific.
Saying that it is not good or not clear enough is just not useful.

I like hitbtc's user interface. I feel it's easy to use. And yes, though many of us here don't want it as an exchange because of the fee. But the UI is great for me it just needs to lite.
370  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will a coin die? on: October 24, 2018, 07:16:57 PM
It is very difficult to be certain at a price that is stable and stable when the market is moving steadily. So the coins can die off as the price gets lower and lower. This is what is forecasted and i think that it is also an opportunity for us to get rich when we use the opportunity.

I agree with you. If it comes a day that bitcoin go below 6000usd, then it will be surely a bargain. With all of what bitcoin can do, it can go back and moon again.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are people's thoughts on Bakkt? on: October 23, 2018, 07:45:07 PM
if indeed it does as it says and offers average joe a easy way to buy/sell ACTUAL BTC and not just contracts/shares ,,,, and also get a cuppa'jo using btc. it will shut up all those "bitcoin is broken because you cant buy coffee with bitcoin" propagandists that just want people to fortknox up btc into LN factories

Agreed it will open up new possibilities for the public. Either to join or participate in bitcoin. I can see now that bitcoin will go up. LOL who knows anything can happen. Cheesy
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk bitcoin tweet will leave you swooned. on: October 23, 2018, 07:41:09 PM
I can see him having his own coin, I hope his not that kind of person, I hope he makes himself a provider for bitcoin. Joining the developments and all.  So excited about what he can bring for us.
373  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading stressful for you? on: October 23, 2018, 07:24:40 PM
For crypto which is volatile, I think you will really be stressed because of the quick movements of the market. Especially if you are day trading and listening only to fuds and hypes and not relying entirely on technical analysis.

Trading bots have reduced the stress in trading. They are made to recognize trends and automatically execute trades thereby reducing the stress for traders.

I haven't tried trading bots. How effective are they? and what are you using right now?
374  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will a coin die? on: October 22, 2018, 07:45:53 PM
I think it's not the price its the user and the miners itself that determine if a coin is dead or not. You see if a miner doesn't mine or connect to the network the user will feel it and will leave the coin looking for a better coin.

It's all about how users feel about it, usage wise.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: first term "HODL" on: October 22, 2018, 07:40:33 PM
this is interesting, because everyone will often make this decision. traders, investors, or speculators.

the term "HODL" appeared in 2013, and came from a GameKyubi post in this forum. with the big theme "I AM HODLING"

he posted the theme because bitcoin dropped to $ 600 from $1300.

and today, investors prefer hodl. but, what is the decision for traders today? or many investors are turning into traders?

Still a hodler, well sometimes I try to trade jump in the bitcoin's up and high, may other coins volatility as bitcoin is on sideways.

Still the decision is to hodl I can make more profit doing this. Then paying all those commissions on low jumps.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we still "Early Adopters"? on: October 21, 2018, 07:09:28 PM
I think yes like most of the people here. Bitcoin is still at its early adoptions stage. And still, don't have enough participants to test its true power. I think it will need more effort for bitcoin to be used widely.
377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $6000 to $7000 the stable price for bitcoin? on: October 21, 2018, 07:03:25 PM
I think yes this might be stable, somehow, but not because that it is distributed. I think it is because there is something catching all these dumps. The volume of trades seems not changing.

It might look like it is stable but I think someone is accumulating large sums because the price is cheap.
378  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not be Greedy on: October 21, 2018, 06:58:10 PM
In my opinion, the best time to sell is when the market price of the coin is 20%+ higher than the market price at which you bought the coin. Dont wait till the market price is 95%+ before you sell. That only happens when you got your eyes glues to your machine 24/7. Dont be greedy... Make a little profit and grow it over time. Cryptomarket is growing and full of terror! Be careful

Only 20%? That can be a general rule of thumb, but in Bitcoin a 100% rise in the bull market is a rare thing. Usually it's 300% or more. Sure, we can keep selling at 20% rise, but what would be our advice when it reaches 25% and you've sold at 20? Buy back and risk losing money when it corrects or maybe wait for the correction to happen and buy then? It's not that easy. If you look at the previous bubble chart, if someone heard about Bitcoin in January, bought at 18k USD and waited for a 20% gain, he is fucked now, even though he thought "20% and i'm out!" Cheesy

20% high and how about a 10% in low Cheesy but I guess 20% is a little move in the market of crypto most tokens are volatile. Sometimes going down is harsher than ups.
379  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin donations on: October 20, 2018, 01:59:28 AM
Yeah, where are you going to get funds for all of your expenses? Most project promises 100% on their investors but then it turns out they can't so near the ending they change it to 80% - 90%.

This is a charity work I know, but please let's be real.

Obviously they take the funds for their expenses through the donations.

The amount they do not use is called the "profit" and distributed.

That is why I'm asking about their expenses.  Smiley

Oh okay. thank you for clarifying Smiley I thought this was like most ICOs. So you are asking how many percentages from the donation their going to use for expenses.
380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons behind Bitcoin/Cryptomarket fall??? on: October 20, 2018, 01:54:31 AM
You want the technicals, the fundamentals, or the conspiracies?
From the technical point we have reached the top at 20k and stopped there forming a double top, which should be a sell signal. A dcorection was long due, so we were supposed to go to at least half of the slope, which was 10k. There was a chance to defend it but we had some Korean exchanges hacked, Binance kicked out of Japan, bans in India, and so it went...

Fundamentals are calling for a bounce back with lightning network expanding, CBOE launching an ETF, and many other things, but the decision was postponed which caused the recent crash (IMO it was a completely dumb and emotional reaction from the market).

Conspiracies? Too many and too irrelevant to waste time explaining.

So 1/4 of the fall is all about market emotion and reaction. I believe large buyers or whales are now silently accumulating. If the market's sentiment is still down, then why the market price doesn't go down even more.
