Here's one example. 

To start, 1 Bitcoin = $10,000
In this scenario Bitcoin starts at $10,000 and then rises to $15,000, a 50% gain.

Both people start with the same value. USD guy starts with $10,000.  BTC guy starts with 1 Bitcoin.

USD guy starts with $10,000, trades ALT/usd pairs, and makes a 50% profit.  He now has $15,000.  He's happy and thinks he did well.  But, he can still only buy one bitcoin because it also gained 50% to $15,000.  He now has $15K or 1 bitcoin.

BTC guy starts with 1 bitcoin.  He trades ALT/BTC pairs, and makes the same 50% profit.  He now has 1.5 Bitcoin, which is now worth $22,500 USD.  He now has 1.5 Bitcoin or $22,500 USD.

Both traded well and made 50% profit, but the BTC guy has $7,500USD/.5 BTC  more than USD guy.

BTC is always a safe bet in regards to a steady increase, but lets face reality, alts have killed btc in % gains. so dont look at 19k, look at what % it just grew...only 5% in last 24hrs..while others have done much more

always good to have some in btc, maybe 20% of your portfolio so you can still get some gains when alts drop...and when alts rise and btc does drops a little, you then win from alts...
Also try to find for some pre-ico. That's good chance if you can catch some good like Wabi earn 50x in short time

Bitcoin at 18k now and this gonna be hard to break... im sure theres a celebration sell wall at that point gonna take days to come down.... like bringing down the Berlin wall kind of long lol

ripple has been setting up nicely.  The price movement has consolidated, and the volume has been steadily dropping.  It looks like it's about ready to start moving again.  We can't be sure on the direction until it happens, but the high percentage odds are with more upwards movement.  I completely missed it's first surge a few days ago.  Hopefully there's another to follow and I can be in when it starts.

I though this will reach hardcap before Xmas come (mean end date).

But why people invest on this project? I just check their crowsale engine nothing difference with cheap source code that are using by many ponzi lending ICO.

Do you plan to redue the hard cap and rate per token?
As at start ETH was so cheap. And now with your Hard cap: 60,120 ETH / 15.3M USD the amount in USD almost double around 25M I think.
