361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell all alts for Bitcoin while it's down? on: January 17, 2018, 08:57:58 AM
I would not do that. I am holding few promising coins, and while they did decrease in $$ value, I am up about 20% in btc. When btc rises back up (and it will soon), I will be up more than if I had sold all and bought btc in this dip.
This is the best way to look at the value of your alts when bitcoin is like this because whilst the USD value may look horrible the btc value is not as bad.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoins to invest this year on: January 17, 2018, 08:52:29 AM
There are so many decent coins around at the moment with plans for 2018, a couple of ones of interest to me are NEBL, BLOCK, BIS and SKY all of these should do well.
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold or Sell on: January 17, 2018, 08:50:58 AM
Holding would be the best thing to do as we should bounce back up, I have a lot of altcoins and although it has been a blood bath recently when looking at these coins their btc value has not dropped too much, it's easy to panic if you look at the USD value but if you look at the btc value it gives a more realistic view.

Bitcoin itself has been hammered, it depends on how much you are in need of the money but I would think holding would be the best thing to do.
364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Start with Bitcoin or Ethereum on: January 16, 2018, 04:25:16 PM
I want to start  trading , should  i buy Bitcoin or Etheureum first ?
Got to start off with bitcoin, it's what it's all about and is a good way to get accustomed to Crypto.  Then once you are used to the market you should look at some of the other coins, ETH being on of them, a good place to see the coins available is https://coinmarketcap.com/
365  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 16, 2018, 10:42:59 AM
Yes they do, whether they simply got lucky or not they still made it to that status, I wonder how many are out there through crypto? I would guess quite a few.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blood bath! Bubble burst? on: January 16, 2018, 08:49:06 AM
January sales Smiley it was quite a shock when I checked blockfolio this morning but hey this is not anything new, we will be back up at some point, hopefully.
367  Other / Off-topic / Re: deleted on: January 15, 2018, 12:07:31 PM
I'm curious how many millions are for bitcoin cash and gold, still 21?
Think they are the same with 21 million, not sure if one of the forks and maybe not gold and cash but I am sure I saw somewhere that one of them was going to have proof of stake.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] ⚡ United Traders ⚡ Payments will be in BTC and UTT tokens ⚡ on: January 15, 2018, 10:11:19 AM
Hotachy are you able to let us know the situation with the tokens?  I know many times the tokens for bounty participants will be sent a week or so after the ICO investors have received theirs and this is usually stated somewhere in their op.

It would be nice if people knew when to expect their tokens rather than checking randomly or coming here to the thread and repeatedly asking as it breeds a bit of negativity.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: January 15, 2018, 08:48:39 AM
It is possible, if you are entering your private keys each time to unlock your wallet then each time you do this you are exposing your private keys which should only be used when you need to restore your wallet.

Try to use a hardware wallet, they really are not that difficult to setup and use, it is far safer in the long run.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHARE YOUR OWN Altcoin portfolio on: January 12, 2018, 01:39:26 PM
Top 5
BIS
XRB
SKY
NEBL
ETC

Alts I think will explode this year and we will see some truly decent projects come to life.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Transfer bitcoins on: January 12, 2018, 01:35:37 PM
Hello, i'm planning to build a long-term portfolio. The problem is, i don't want to purchase bitcoins on coinbase and then send them to an exchange cause of the high fees. My idea is just buy eth or ltc, send those to the exchange, and then exchange the ltc/eth to btc, and then buy my coins with btc, what do you think guys?
I myself and many others have opted for using litecoin or one of the other alts when transferring to an exchange purely for the fees and the speed, bitcoin is not the greatest at quick cheap transactions at the moment.
372  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-12] KFC Canada Accepts Bitcoin on: January 12, 2018, 08:45:08 AM
I read the attached article and it looks to me KFC is a little bit over their head with BTC and maybe they should have thought it out a little better.

Last part of the article:
"KFC’s payment processor is Bitpay, which last month was forced to temporarily raise its minimum invoice amount to $100 due to “current bitcoin network conditions”.
So price of the bucket is 20$ and minimum amount you can spend is 100$. Maybe I am wrong and they did it on purpose Smiley

That being said, I am happy to see they are making an effort to include BTC as payment possibility and hope that it will progress to state where you can just choose BTC as payment method regardless of what your order and amount is.

That's a valid point, maybe there is some kind of arrangement where Bitpay will keep transactions with themselves until they reach a minimum of $100 at which point they would send the transactions to KFC, I don't know just thinking out aloud.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About myetherwallet??? on: January 12, 2018, 07:52:02 AM
I don't think Myetherwallet has been attacked in the sense of being hacked, it is constantly being 'attacked' by the different phising sites and emails that will try to trick users into believing they are the MEW.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: eDogecoin: New Secure ERC20 (ERC223) token on Ethereum. Wow. Amazing on: January 11, 2018, 11:55:23 PM
Dead?
you can never say
have a look to ethereum cash now....it was a dead coin....
 $9.356.267 USD  +600%
You have a point, even Piggycoin was moving last week, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a lot of old forgotten coins coming back to live.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: eDogecoin: New Secure ERC20 (ERC223) token on Ethereum. Wow. Amazing on: January 11, 2018, 02:58:34 PM

376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: January 11, 2018, 11:13:17 AM
yea, transfers from Cryptopia are very delayed, they info:
Quote
Due to being unable to provide any kind of realistic or accurate ETA on both the DOGE/LTC markets being resumed, we have decided it best to close these base markets at this time. Please close any open orders, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
something is wrong with Cryptopia devs and they cannot implement and handle DIME correctly, they have similar problems with some other currencies. You can separate your withdrawal to smaller amounts, it will come faster. You will get your money but with a delay from some hours to some days depends of the transfered amount
This makes some sense now because under 100k went through fine but there's 3 million just sitting in processing, as long as they will get to their destination I guess I'll just have to wait.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DIMEcoin on: January 11, 2018, 11:00:57 AM
I have a similar issue 2 days still processing withdraw via Cryptopia to coinexchange.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: January 10, 2018, 01:51:05 PM
nobody replied though on the marketing roadmap. Technical one is clear, but I don't see any promotion being done, which is a pitty because this is one of the best coins out there, from a technical perspective. A real gem.
Really good interview with Skycoin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRIGi4XOOps&t=1827s very good as an overview of what Skycoin is.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Future of Bitcoin on: January 10, 2018, 12:46:20 PM
The fees are too high and it hurts if you want to send any bitcoin, start to view bitcoin as more of a locked away investment until things change or start using another coin for your transactions, i am just going to leave bitcoin where it is for now and use ltc or one of the other altcoins.
380  Economy / Marketplace / Re: I've made 600k in Crypto - When to call it quits on: January 10, 2018, 12:38:38 PM
Nice amount of profit and I like your top coins, I would definitely have to take at least 25% out and think about how the tax situation works in your country just to be safe and avoid any hassle.
