362  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Facebooks's Libra cause the growth of bitcoin? on: June 19, 2019, 07:13:28 AM
Well assuming a large portion of Facebook's users actually use Libra, it will literally bring crypto to the mainstream. Crypto has always come with a stigma, and this might give people the chance to see that it's only as harmful as its user wants it to be.

agree, libra won't require any effort from new users, they will get native wallets on apps they already know. we saw something similar happening to internet explorer and msn in the past... Tongue this will open minds to crypto and bring people to other coins, I guess.
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason Amazon hasn't adopted Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2019, 07:36:48 AM
scalability, speed maybe? I believe that stellar would be a better choice for e-commerce.
but I also think the lobby and regulations could make many stores accept the facebook coin in a near future.
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright, another blunder revealed on: June 18, 2019, 07:30:37 AM
well sometimes it works. this week a finance magazine from Brazil mentioned him as "creator of bitcoin":

a crypto website reporting the mistake:

365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties is not a reliable source of income on: June 18, 2019, 01:08:57 AM
it's not a job, it's a lottery. many projects will fail, many are scams, others will pay but the prices crash and you won't get much. Be picky, investigate them and choose wisely.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trade on Latoken on: June 18, 2019, 01:04:19 AM
I am interested in trading in Latoken, a few weeks ago I was invited by friends to trade in Latoken, so far I have gained new experiences with a few coins and got a little profit.
I want to share my experiences here and make sure that Latoken is safe, is my decision right?

I've been using it for a few months, I think it's a good exchange. But remember the golden rule: never keep significant amounts on exchanges. If you are not trading, keep your coins in your own wallet.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government. on: June 18, 2019, 12:59:04 AM
Drugs are often an excuse to make many other things illegal. They kill a lot to "save" people from this terrible menace.
368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin finders are scams! Epic roast... on: June 17, 2019, 04:20:24 AM
Warning - Do not send funds to any bitcoin address in the link below, you WILL GET SCAMMED!

well usually easy money schemes are frauds. if it was possible to get keys as he states, bitcoin would have no value.
369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright, another blunder revealed on: June 16, 2019, 08:27:23 AM
Perhaps he is the reddit "Time Traveler" too.

no way because it was me Grin

but really, who believes in craig wright? same flat earth believers?
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do companies get their "Bitcoin experts" from? on: June 16, 2019, 08:03:41 AM
they find on those linkedin resumes "serial entrepeneur, blockchain expert, data driven moron..."  Cheesy
"ico advisor" used to be a thing too but not anymore.

I think that most people labeling themselves "experts" are in the business field not in computing.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This is the crypto bull run June 2019 on: June 16, 2019, 07:27:09 AM
I dont think it will go straight away to 20k, it wont be healthy if thats the case. I expect a correction a bit for few weeks then another run. i think 12-15k this year should be an achievement already from 3.2k early this year. Then 2020 should run passing 20k

Agree, it's not healthy. Maybe it will pass 20k this year but not so fast like 2017. This time the growth will be more motivated by fundamentals than FOMO. More users, better infrastructure in several countries, Bakkt, Facebook coin, etc.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be considered a Religion? on: June 14, 2019, 07:44:19 AM
Anything can be worshipped by people who strongly believed it is superior to him or anything miraculously related. So the answer is yes. But if its bitcoin then it's insanity just like how first people worshipped stones and some artifacts. But it's nothing to be shocked of because there are a lot of them that you can see in the internet.

still happens. just check apple fanboism, many people wrote about this already. after jobs elon musk is the new pope of capital for many.

their followers don't need to recognize it as religious but they act the same way.

They're now even worshiping the "Spaghetti Monster"

nah.. Spaghetti Monster is a satire.

I believe that if people start worshiping Bitcoin, then they will certainly idolize Satoshi in many ways (once his identity is discovered, of course). Knowing that Bitcoin's creator is a mystery and a pure genious, should be more than enough for some people to follow it as a "god".

they do Smiley well some people see more as a political position, some have a realistic relationship with crypto. but some are really crazy and worship the coin, the devs, they hate the other coins... Tongue please, don't cross the line, folks.
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto - Evidence Here on: June 13, 2019, 12:40:20 PM
Tomorrow, on Bloomberg, Dr. Craig Steven Wright on "60 Minutes".

So, how did this episode turn out? Did it have the worldwide transformative effecting the slobbering BSV fanatics thought that it would? I must have missed it. Oh, that's right, everybody missed it, because it didn't happen.

Much like how CSW being Satoshi never happened.

The media just love this kind of controversy. If people hate him, even better, more attention they will receive. So here we are talking about bloomberg Wink
374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC ATM in London Goes Crazy... on: June 13, 2019, 12:26:21 PM
It is one of three things :

1. The machine got hacked - Someone managed to find a way to hack the ATM and was just showing off.
2. The ATM malfunctioned - The hardware or software malfunctioned and it pumped out money like crazy!
3. It was a publicity stunt - Something like this will draw a lot of attention, so the company who owns this machine did this on purpose to draw attention to the machine.  Tongue

In any way, it did draw a lot of attention and I think a lot of people are sleeping next to that machine in the hope that it would do this again.  Roll Eyes

Hacked or malfunction, I don't think this could be a good publicity.

4. Could be Jesus, check this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oAqOFz6QsU&t=150
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was Telegram's TON a scam after all? on: June 12, 2019, 08:55:38 PM
it's not over, they will make a public sale. I guess they've been waiting for better market conditions.

376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be junk/trash after ban in 2 big countries on: June 12, 2019, 08:45:15 PM
no way. actually one of the main characteristics of bitcoin is to be resistant to government bans.
they can make the trade complicated but won't stop it.
377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whales are out of control = $500 in ten minutes on: June 03, 2019, 09:06:40 PM
Time to do something about the few whales who keep cheating everyone out of their life savings.

Let's do a fork and take anything over 10BTC away from those big addresses and redistribute it fairly to everyone.  It is ridiculous and totally ruining everything when one person has 1000s and can mess up the order book on a major exchange.  Where is the fairness in bitcoin?

We have to end the whales who are out of control.

well, they call it "capitalism". it's not supposed to be fair, it's supposed to be profitable Cheesy
many people in crypto don't want to change this, but they expect to be the plutocrats of the "new paradigm".
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS Discussion on: June 03, 2019, 08:59:28 PM
EOS was the most successful ICO, they collect biggest amount of money in ICO history. But the returns werent so big, comparing with Ethereum, NXT or IOTA ICO.  Undecided

Too early, they launched the mainnet on a bear market. People were also disappointed in the past when eth dropped down to $7...  Wink
It's not my favorite, but they have a very active community and are building many things fast. Comparing the usability they easily beat ethereum, the dapps are so much better.
379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SSD vs HDD: what it means for Bitcoin scaling? on: June 02, 2019, 09:58:58 PM
You not quite right. A SSD is a HDD all SSD are HDD but not all HDD are SSD got it?? You first got ata HDD then sata HDD.

a bit confusing here. some devices are hybrid,  HDD + SSD. But no, SSD is not a HDD.

HDD means hard DISK drive, a magnetic disk, SSD is not a disk.

SATA is another different thing, the type of connection cable / data transfer of the device.
