Does this fix the freezing issue when switching to youtube video?
What fixes this problem: right click inside any flash application, choose settings, and disabling hardware acceleration.

Are you keeping this card outside of a case?
The airflow of cards are designed around the ideal airflow inside cases. It's probably best to keep the plastic on it since there engineers who designed the card know more about the airflow around it than we do.

Maybe some more active moderators on the boards? The reason why the newbie stuff was made was to get rid of the mass trolling and spam, which worked. I think with a few people throughout the day getting rid of spam might make it so new members can contribute more easily. There's a report feature built into there forums, might as well utilize it. Regardless of the rules, people are going to continue to ask stupid questions, and questions that have been answered hundreds of times because that's the nature of internet boards; the search feature is still a mystery to many. I've moderated a few boards with hundreds of members, and I don't believe this restriction is as productive as other methods. I'm not too sure of this software, but ip bans come in quite handy (and pressing that button makes you feel like Zeus bring down the banhammer ).

I wouldn't know the best way to go about "renting" hashing. I was thinking of splitting the cost of a mining rig and going somewhere close to 60/40 (to cover electricity) for the output, but it'd be too easy for the miner to disconnect you and leave you hanging since there is no way for anyone to enforce the contract (and the admin has the physical computer, making it a very high risk for the rentee/investor). Anyone have any experiences renting out hashing that can shine some light on this?

Look at the gpu and memory clocks. If they're the same, then I'd say they'd have the same hashing potential. There's usually stats on the side of boxes.

I just realized that he also said he's calling the cops, but physically going to the station.
I think I'll stop feeding the troll now.

Sorry, I forgot we're dealing with two cards, not one :S
Are you running two GUI miner programs, or do you have multiple miners set up? (You can do this by File->"New Opencl miner..."). If it's not that, then I don't really know what specifically could be causing it.
You could try swapping the card positions or running single cards for testing, but that might cause a lot of downtime for monitoring. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

i am treating it as theft and leaving my home now to the local police station. wish me luck.
And you think they can do anything about it? Sorry, but this made me laugh.

It's probably a connection problem on your end. Are you monitoring your miners in these time frames and seeing connection problems?

The first thing you need to ask yourself is if you want to invest a good amount of money and time. What a lot of people see with bitcoin mining is a get rich quick scheme, which I can tell you it is not. You'll need to invest in good hardware if you want to have a decent to good hashrate (higherhashrate = more coins), and you'll need to wait many days (45+ days) for your hardware to get you some coins, even on mining pools. Also, being good with computer hardware (as in maintenance, overclocking, and building computers) comes in very handy. If you want to invest your time and money, start looking at the how to get started topics all around the newbie and mining threads.
A fair warning, old PC's don't really mine well. Processor mining is overshadowed many times by GPU (graphics card using opencl) speed. If you want to be able to mine well, you'll need to invest in good graphic cards, like the ATI 5XXX and 6XXX serires (not mobile ones found in laptops).
I don't want to sound to deterring, but most newcomers asking these questions don't usually know what they're in for.

Has the current round ended on BTCGuild? Like I said above, what the site says and what has happened is often not the same (which does cause headaches when setting up).
Have you tried setting your second card to another pool?

It was quite frustrating when I wanted to answer a hardware question, but after staring at the screen for five minutes wondering where the reply button went, I quickly gave up. There are many ways to prevent spam and trolls, and this is an effective way, maybe not the best, but it does make it difficult for newcomers to contribute. All I got to say now is: Na na na, I got out P.S.: The 4 hours limit is kinda ridiculous. I'm not sure the policy makers know how long that can take to accumulate.

Along with what newguy05 said: I think people are approaching bitcoin sites with no sense of security with their information. You've got your pool account, forum account, and mtgox account. How many of those share the same email and password combination? Password replication is the one of the most overlooked thing on the internet today. If someone, somehow got one of those email/passwords, it'd be quite easy to guess which other bitcoin sites you use.
It does suck that you might lose that money, but leaving large sums of money not in a bank is asking for trouble. Even with paypal (with their great reputation for locking large sums of money from people), I wouldn't trust more than a few hundred.

What a pooled website will say and what GUI miner will say is often different. If GUI miner isn't updating the number of shares, then you've got a problem.
BTC Guild is having server issues atm, and in the past their share numbers and last share received on the website were never close to correct. If your reward is going up steadily, then you should be fine.

A good tip for acquiring bitcoin: Don't come to the fourms begging.

Say you are mining 2 coins a day. Say you can't just swap them for cash - how are you going to spend your bitcoins?
That's a good question. When I first got a good chunk of coins, I looked at the forums to see what I could actually get with them. It turned out the answer was not much. I'd love to use them for something more than trading them for cash, but sellers aren't really jumping on board with this currency, and I don't blame them with the current exchange trends. I haven't looked at Silk Road yet, but this also bring up another problem: I'm not looking for anything. I'm a rather minimal person. I have my computer(s), video games, some food, and a bed. I'm pretty content with what I have. Bitcoin was an excuse to myself to set up another machine (which I really enjoy doing). Hopefully there will be opportunities in the future to use bitcoin for something I actually need/want, but for now I think I'll be saving them away until that time come.

Just remember that mining BTC isn't a get rich quick. It'll take a while to pay off for new hardware & electricity.

They have some weird problems with the site. If you're getting a down for maintenance error, try logging in again. I've gotten that error and have been able to log in within a few seconds.

A Mac not mining bitcoin's well/efficiently? Color me surprised.
Also what twitcoins said: Mobile is quite different from the "real" model. Advertising trick, and a good one. I don't know how many friends think they have a good graphics card in a laptop because they don't know the difference between a XXXXM and a XXXX.
