How about building a multi pool like Blackcoin's after PoS transition?
It will help both miners and stake holder.
The miners mine most profitable coin and exchange it for SLR. It will place continuous buy order and support price level.
It also utilize current scrypt ASIC machine which is owned by current solar miner.
It defeats the purpose of SLR. The way people should get it is through feed in grants. But you know people, someone will probably go right ahead and build a multipool anyway. I agree to your point. I love the way SLR granted to generators. That's why I've stick to this coin since January. However, to promote adoption of Solarcoin in both Photovoltaic industry and Crypto World, maintaining certain price level is crucial. It might be around 1$. I think. When it comes to PoS, there won't be huge dump like in PoW. But minted interests have a tendency to become sell orders. I've noticed that a lot of PoS coins shrinking with lack of buy support. We'd better building dedicated multi pool before PoS transition. I think that is not option for pure PoS coin. Must have. |

What happened to the coin blockchain?
Any fork? Or bad nodes? I had to re-create my local database...
I had that, too. And while syncing, it sometimes stopped for ages. Around block 90 000, slightly above 100 000 and around 180 000 I think it was. When I became too impatient, I deleted everything in the data folder (apart from wallet.dat ), and started new. Now 3rd attempt, I am synced, finally. Sigh. The debug.log had strange messages, if it is of any use, I can post them. But essentially it got solved - through patience. I got 300k ECC stuck in Stake with one confirmation only... Any solutions to solve this issue?!  There must be something wrong with block chain. I have been unable to sync since yesterday. |

If you add PoS to Solarcoin it would become one of the most dynamic Crypto's on the market in my humble opinion.
Solarcoin at that point would have 2 PoW and PoS,
PoW- Solar power generating panels
PoW- Mining network
PoS- Coin holders
One of the bigger drawbacks to PoS is hoarding because no one wants to give up their coins. So that drives up the price, but also makes it harder to get coins. The thing Solarcoin has that makes it a great PoS candidate is the premined Gen pool. With the large chunk of coins premined and given out for solar power generation, That solves the hoarding problems of other PoS coins as well as drives more people to redeem coins for solar power. Its also good to mention it would be important to keep the premined out of receiving PoS rewards, simple keeping them in cold wallets.
Im not a promoter of any of the other coins... I could care less how the coins used for example proform... They are only used as a reference... Im all about making Solarcoin the best it can be!!!!
I happen to love this idea as well, I'd just like to see the difficulty retargeting get addressed first so we can put out that fire and be done with it. Then our tech team will have some forking experience (no pun intended  ) under their belts and can begin thinking about the larger project of a potential PoS fork down the road. I'm also a supporter of PoS as a future development for SolarCoin. Just so that everyone knows, this idea is very much on the radar screen of the SolarCoin Foundation Board and dev team as something to consider in the longer term. One possibility that has been talked about is a fork to PoS after we reach approximately 50 million mined coins, which is supposed to happen near the end of this year. That would allow plenty of time for research and discussion of all the specifications, risks and ramifications of such a change, and thorough testing of all new code, wallets, etc. Just to be clear, the Board has not decided on PoS, but plans to study and consider it. Why don't you let people invest their CFC into CFC Guild? Following steps would be good for both CFC and CFC Guild. 1) Let people invest their CFC into Guild. It will absorb circulation volume of CFC in the market. 2) CFC Guild uses their invested CFC to buy raw material from coffee bean suppliers. (CFC payment) 1) and 2) will support CFC price and promote seller adoption. The suppliers can easily exchange CFC into BTC or fiat money. 3) CFC Guild trades beans and makes profit, then distribute dividend to share holders. Share holders can select option to receive dividend by CFC, BTC or Coffee bean itself. As far as I know, cryptostocks listing is not a good choice. Let's build CFC economy model. |

The concept of coin is pretty good, has HUGE potential.
You need to get rid of technical hurdle for future growth. Adjusting PoS parameter is no.1 priority.
