Bounty is now a nice round 50,000 NAV.

what does it mean?

That if u can track a NAV anonymous payment u will get paid 50k nav.

I wonder how much is worth 50k NAV after somebody track your anonymouse payment

Well...mate...you are just answering your own question. If somebody cracks the code, they won't want the price to colapse..otherwise the 50k or more won't we worth much.

Pakage replied earlier to something similar.

This encourages people to work on the code and then they send the results to DEV team. Then DEV team fixes what it needs to be fixed!!!

the blockchain seems really "fucked" with mass orphans or another thing ..

huge utilisation 100% on my ssd & hang my windows ..
with some stucks/freez and so slow to synchro ..

wallets vrc xst xvc sdc are so smooth compared with nav ..

"Houston, we have a problem" ..
 Cool

Are you in the right block chain? have you checked vs https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/?
Do you have latest wallet? Have you downloaded latest blockchain?
Mate, if you want the community to help you give us more info!
I run NAV coin on a Mac with Wine emulating Windows XP with no problems and also in an old HP Windows laptop with 2gb of memory staking great.

Jus ta repost to all that have problems with changing amounts or whatever. This will make you a clean wallet to stake and that is on the correct chain:

1. Delete all files instead wallet.dat and navcoin.conf from the working directory.
2. Load the latest Blockchain data (I just made an update) from www.navcoin.conf/files/Nav-Blockchain.zip
3. Unpack this zip into your working directory
4. Update the navcoin.conf :

Use this:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=44444
port=44440
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
txindex=1
staking=0
maxorphanblocks = 10000

5. get addnodes from here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/#!network  (klick on "node list" from 3.6 wallet)  add this list to you navcoin.conf.
6. You have already the Wallet 3.6 ? Otherwise Download from our website please. Please do not use 3.5 anymore.
7. Start the Navcoin-qt.exe
8. make a "checkwallet" on the debug window
9. close Navcoin Wallet again
10. open CMD and go to the Navcoin wallet folder where your exe is in.
11. start your wallet with: navcoin-qt.exe -rescan

Shahim

Hi, make sure you follow this instructions.

uugh! So I think I did everything right but it won't update beyond 12 days behind, Running 3.6 the checkwallet came back as fine, running Win10, just sits there with 17 connections to the network.
[/quote]

Have you downloaded the latest blockchain?

Shahim updates it quite often. I'm sure it was this week.

So you say DASH is  simple coin mix?

Don't know mate...I am a bit illiterate on those aspects. I do great music recording and mastering. But technically I am not that savvy. It might be a wrong quote the coin mix thing. Plus I never talked about Dash. I was talking about NAV double encryption.
As far as I know Dash (Darkcoin) wasn't fully anon. It could be traced back in a way...
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Navajo Coin [NAV] -*New Beta Wallet* Chat Feature & more *NOW ON CRYPTSY* on: August 19, 2016, 12:56:53 PM
Hello everyone, please rest assured that we are tirelessly working on this coin's development.

I was literally up till 5am on a work night finishing the beta client for release, so I hope you can understand that I have taken couple days rest after the beta launch.

Despite that, last night after I got home from my day job, I completed one of the node scripts of the anon network and we will begin our internal testing on that part shortly. One step closer.

While we are testing that, I am going to resume work on the client and fix the bugs we've found while also implementing some new features.

We will make a proper update about this next stage of the client in the coming days once we figure out a realistic timeframe for this.

I hope our current streak of constant updates and timely deliveries is keeping your confidence up that we will deliver the finished anon product as soon as possible.

All the best,
pakage

Hi,

I totally forgot it yesterday, but i have just send you 20.000 nav for your hard work and effort! I know it wont make you a millionaire but if nav will go up over time this amount of coins can have some nice value! And its just to show you my appreciation.

And if others also donate you get even richer Smiley

Can you explain a bit more about the node script. I will reread the anon whitepaper today to avoid other dumb questions, but what is a "node" and what does the script do and for what purpose?

cheers

Robin

I have received your kind donation. Thank you very much!

Quote
node
noun technical
1. a point in a network or diagram at which lines or pathways intersect or branch.
"the intersections of two or more such arteries would clearly become major nodes of traffic and urban activity"

The idea of the Navajo Anon Network is similar in architecture to the Tor Project for anonymous internet browsing.

It's not a very simple subject, but i will try to lay it out in somewhat basic terms as I understand the whitepaper. This is how I would explain the chain of events in a typical transaction;

I send an anonymous transaction from my wallet. The data which i send is encrypted by the wallet so it can't be openly viewed as it travels. The encrypted transaction gets sent to a random node which acts like a gateway into the anonymous network. The node processes the transaction it received and writes it to the navajo block chain. The node then transfers the transaction to the sub-block-chain which is a private and encrypted block chain which exists only inside the anon network. The transaction is forwarded to another random node inside the anon network which then commits the transaction back to the navajocoin block chain, encrypts the transaction and sends it to its final destination.

The strength of this method are:

1. Encrypted communication is very hard to decode, depending on the method it could take a super computer years to figure out the contents of a single transaction.
2. Random entry and exit points of the anon network make it virtually impossible to track the origin and destination of a transaction with meta data surveillance.
3. Using encrypted subchains means that the paper trail between origin and destination is physically broken. So, even if you had meta data showing that 300 NAV was sent by someone and that same amount was received by another person, you couldn't actually prove that it was the same transaction without access to the subchain transaction record which is not publicly available.

That's what I understand anyway. Soopy is the one who authored the whitepaper and most of the code, so he can correct me on some points I'm sure. I'm mainly just programming the website and some wallet features.

I hope that helps to explain it a bit further.

Here is some data...

Please just look back on Devs posts.

Pakage, please explain to man this issue, or someone else from the team ...

Hi everyone. I have a question regarding NAV Coin. I read the whitepapers of both NAV Coin and DASH, but I don't seem to figure out what is the difference between both. They are both doin anonymous transactions based on mixing. At least that is my interpretation of it. Did I miss out on something important ? If so, could someone please explain this to me ? And if there is a difference, then it might be a good idea to put it on the website and even to publish this comparison on crypto site and make a youtube video about it so people are aware of it.

NAV is TRUE and 100% anonymity,  DASH not  Smiley

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I heard about this. But I want to know why. Why is NAV 100 % anonymous and DASH not ? I am not asking this question to be anti-NAV. If NAV reaches the level of DASH I will jump through my roof out of pure joy because I bought some decent amount of NAV last week. But I am not able to understand why NAV is more anonymous than DASH so if someone could explain this to me, I would be extremely thankful :-)

It's the middle of the night in NZ. He will get back to this question. I think it has to do with the double encryption and not in the simple coin mix. It was explained here but WAYYYYYYYY back in the thread...May be if you guys search on Pakage's posts or Soopy's you might find it...
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] [NAV] NAV COIN - ANONYMOUS TECH. ● ANDROID WALLET LIVE ● NAV 2.1 SOON on: August 19, 2016, 09:16:23 AM
The team, can you give an approximate date for the introduction of decentralization?

We look forward to 20k-30k sat

Thank you for your good work  Smiley

Hi plastcom, it's hard to say. I try to update on particular phases of the project and overall percentages rather than delivery dates. This work is quite experimental and can take longer than expected to figure out.

Right now I am close to finishing the new version of the receiving and sending server scripts.

After that, I need to finish off the wallet integration of the new system including the removal of the reliance on the API server list and ability for the user to set their prefs.

Then we need to thoroughly test and setup counter measures to prevent a malicious person setting up a compromised server set which steals peoples coins in transit.

A lot of the work is already in the rear view mirror and I believe we can have the system operational in the near future Smiley

Will be there any updates and releases for next 2-3 weeks?

I don't like to speculate with releases. But I think the web wallet/ thin desktop wallet will be ready soon. I don't really know if in 2-3 weeks...but soon mate...patience is key if you are investing on NAV Coin...
Just relax and let your coins to stake!

Gentlemen, what price you provide for NAV?

Personally, I think it will increase similar to what happened with DASH  Cheesy

What happened to Dash?
Can you explain further please?

There has been a very large increase in prices. From what I remember it was probably x20.
There is talk of 5000-6000 sat, but I think it will be several times more.

We are waiting for Decentralization...

Ah ok!

Yes...that's the ultimate goal of this phase of NAV!

I think that if users can get a reward for running anon nodes and the stake more people will move their coins from exchanges to desktop wallets which means less offer and more demand. Perfect scenario for price rise.

Also a good marketing campaign. NAV has improved a lot in that field since Sophia joined Strugg and now with the help of Mark.

Consistency is key. The hardfork for Mob wallet and the publicity that it brought to NAV was a very good sign of times to come.

Also the fact that we have new users interested.

Will be there any big news?
Hey Nav Coiners!

It's time for this weeks update from the dev team.

I've been busy continuing with my work porting the Anonymous Transaction Network to NodeJS. I've made good progress this week and am looking to get this new source running on our test network over the next few days. We will have a better idea of the launch date of the new software once I have run the first round of security and performance tests.

Strugg has been working with a graphic designer to customize the Nav Coin Mobile wallet layout to be in line with the Nav Coin branding. So far its looking good and we hope to have this update to the wallet pushed out soon.

Shahim has been helping me with the Anonymous Transaction Network testing and setup as well as working towards finishing the Web Wallet.

Soopy is has been busy adding the finishing touches to the Thin Client for Desktop. More information from him on that shortly.

Mark and Sophia have had a productive planning session over the weekend to formalize the marketing strategy moving forward. Mark has also completed his first article for the team which you can view here: Nav Coin Attains Dedicated TorŪ Nodes

We will be pushing this out to some News sites in the coming days.

All systems are go and we are steadily moving forward. Exciting times for Nav Coin as we start to wrap up our next few projects and head towards the ultimate goal of decentralising the Anonymous Transaction Network!

Talk soon,
Craig.

Dev team is on it mate!

)), The developers have taken a very good position))) 2 times a week exhibited a warrant to purchase up to 400 bitcoins, all hamsters seeing it begin frantically buying up to 4000 Satoshi, then removed the warrant and the price goes back to 3000. It turns out 30% of hamsters given to those who regulate market))).

I do not Wang, and so on terms I can not say when the coin strikes Satoshi 2000, but looking at the above speculative actions wonders about the future of the coin ...

I will feed you brother troll...one of my favourite movies is "Troll Hunter"
Anyways, let's do some math here 1 BTC= $580

Do you think if they have that spare money hanging out there, they wouldn't spend it on Marketing or hiring more dev! And then making a huge profit?

Four of the Navcoin Tor hidden_service addnode=.onion nodes are now running as full Tor Relays ;

- NAVCOIN0 - https://atlas.torproject.org/#details/344EA5AF2DFA5AA85E55156CA65E8A7033F61EE4
- NAVCOIN1 - https://atlas.torproject.org/#details/29D458864F15286BE243828C68AEDB04A50577B4
- NAVCOIN2 - https://atlas.torproject.org/#details/290295E1F171D2667AB5720A1F25F1A0FF51AAF4
- NAVCOIN3 - https://atlas.torproject.org/#details/AB95F97A7F577CD51B54F09CAD039212D25ADE87

This service allows for the Navcoin project (and its hidden_services) to be more easily utilized by existing Tor users, who are perhaps already familiar with anonymous tech. and the benefits of using internet privacy enabled services etc.,

Tor hidden_services, in some regards, do not necessarily need to be fully 'hidden' to provide users with anonymity and privacy.

For example, it is realistically impossible for the hidden_service operator (or an observer) to learn exactly who (or from where) connections are reaching the hidden_service from. Furthermore, the individually 'advertised' hidden_service info presented in the Tor atlas contact information, may (or may not) correspond with the Tor Relay node actually running the Navcoin service i.e. an 'fx' and/or 'ca' addnode=.onion node may (or may not) be hosting any one of these Navcoin Tor services.

Mixing Navcoin Tor traffic with regular Tor relay traffic is certainly beneficial for users privacy, as well as potentially bringing Navcoin to a wider audience. Nodes relaying traffic for the Tor network allows the Navcoin project to essentially provide bandwidth back to other Tor users i.e. P2P seeding, instead of just leeching.

Thank you very mucho BitcoinFX!

NAV or Dash ? Which coin is better ?

Dash is a competitor of LTC and they re focus their intents moving from the anon feature. That's why they changed their name!

I think NAV should embrace the anonymity and take it to new platforms! Mob wallet, decentralisation...Now TOR network support!

Take care of your coins! After Bitfinex hack, Safety, security is paramount!
