The charts aren't that bad for this one, but it seems dead... Is it dead, any insight?
Not dead, but needs some love

This thread feels overly 'staged' to me, not convincing

Currently 1.3% are for sale at Polo at 3 sats and, likely, someone will come along and dump into the 1 & 2 sat orders. Personally, I think this is a shame. If there is ever going to be a marketing campaign, it needs to happen soon. If Qora gets down to a market cap of 100 or 200 BTC consistently, I don't see how it can gain any traction. People don't buy into "dead" coins no matter how cool they are. I'm not trying to be cynical and I do still own a LOT of qora. But this has gotten sad. A lot of work has been done around here and, honestly, I don't know what to do to turn this ship around. To be honest, this phase of the altcoin bear market baffles me. Good and even innovative coins get shot down for seemingly no reason. I'm even at a loss to explain why Horizon's been spared - so far. The hard core crypto 'fans' on this forum don't have enough funds to sustain lots of alts, and many 2013 converts got burnt and left. My belief is there is a tsunami of capital waiting to see if wall st can adopt blockchain without bitcoin. If Jamie dimond and blythe masters and co can create private blockchain the game is up for all alts and bitcoin exists as a fringe curiosity. qora code would end up being used by legacy finance to make rich bankers even richer. The other factor i see here is ordinary people don't care about crypto, but would after the global financial system blows up. Put these two together and you get a couple of scenarios: 1- private blockchains take off and banks morph into new lean mean institutions with established brands and the dream of decentralised finance goes into statis 2- private blockchains fail, global financial system blows up, bitcoin marketcap in trillions, with quality alts marketcap in billions My BIG fear for qora and some other quality alts is we get scenario 2- but not for another 2-3 years, and by then many alts will be dead, even though they had the 'right stuff' to moon into the billions. What we need now is a use case for crypto fans to keep these quality alts alive long enough to reap the reward, and that's probably gambling.

Oh, bummer, looks like node is dead then, finally

Qora has never hit 3 sats as far as I remember....2016, so many alts are going to lose steam and simply putter out. Qora has enough qualities and features to survive but it's not looking good. Community is wavering and no sure path communicated from dev team. Not blaming...what would you do if you were the dev team...with no community support. Tough to admit the huge loss, been with qora from the beginning and invested a lot. The atmosphere has never been so grim...I'm holding because of my stubbornness to not trade so low. Good luck Qora in 2016. ...I hope you survive..and better yet, thrive and prosper! This is the time of the great alt coin clean out, only the coins with the x-factor will survive. relevant factor is NOT price, but potential to be used for something in the real world that has utility. I believe qora is still one of only a few alts that will survive the mass extinction we are going through. My outlook for qora is still positive, and once 95% of alts are gone qora will do fine. Only potential i see for qora to fail is if devs give up, and i do not see that happening. Alt price collapse is a good thing for good coins with real innovation, like qora, so send the devs support to let them know we are all still here. Gratitude for devs effort is very important

read this forum daily for many hours for a month or two, write down the names of users who consistently impress you with thoughtful posts, then check those user's profiles daily to see where they post. Eventually the large pool of hundreds of alts shrinks to about 30 interesting ones. Follow smart people and see where they go.

any noxt news?
Doesn't look that way lol. Here we go again. I'm not having a bitch or anything, I reckon stuff is going on in the background, but would just like to know what! I think that is understandable but maybe not relevant in decentralized crypto projects. Once you invest there's no way to get your money back, and as there's no firm legal foundation in this space, i think expecting regular communication from a busy dev up to his eyeballs is too old school imo. Rofo has been abused quite a bit in the past so why would he bother? I actually respect crypto devs more if they shutup and code. It's the mega posting salesmen who''ve done all the damage. I think we just have to embrace the new paradigm fully, and that means once you invest you walk away and wait. Asking for updates is 100% pointless. A scammer won't care, and an honest devs time is better spent working than posting here, especially if they've had bad experiences with trolls before. If i was rofo i would login here only when i had real news, not just pointless 'i am alive' posts

Why are there so many rock bands? Chuck Berry nailed it down in 1955 with 'Maybellene', why all the copycat clones?

I figured I would make this thread to discuss possible uses for this technology. It is being targeted for release at Christmas, and they seem to be sticking with that deadline.
I have met some IoT entrepreneurs, for example, who have worked on creating wireless IoT toothbrushes. I am thinking that Iota could be perfect for ordering replacements with the simple click of a button. Perhaps the toothbrush could have some charging station, and you can easily order replacement toothpaste, floss, etc. very quickly and efficiently.
I think that there can be some massive profits involved with anyone who sets up a payment gateway to convert Iota on the fly.
Any other ideas?
Inb4 PoB ... Proof-of-Brush "Wireless IoT toothbrushes" This is probably the dumbest idea that I've ever heard. You obviously have not thought deeply on IoT yet. Any purchased object that is always needed, like a toothbrush, will sense when it is close to needing replacement, then self order. Expect to have IoT capabilities on every can, packet, and bag in every supermarket within 10 years. Who likes grocery shopping?

Monero uses ring signatures at the protocol level, so regardless of daily volume, tx are mixed among all the XMR that have ever moved.
NXT uses ad hoc coinjoin, so tx are only mixed with whatever (if any) other tx are provided at the moment by intermittent volume.
Ah-ha, so Moneros low volume isn't a problem but Nxts is ? Feels like you're clutching at straws now, iCE. (BTW: the accepted definition of a liquid market is 1% of market cap traded per day.....so both NXT and Monero have pretty much the same level of liquidity: 50-75% of that 1%/day target) Correct. Monero's low volume isn't a problem but Nxt's is. That's exactly right. I already explained why protocol-level ring signatures don't require high daily volume to be effective. You are just butthurt NXT's shitty ad hoc mixer requires more liquidity than currently available to be worth using. Enjoy your chicken-and-egg paradox! why not buy xmr and nxt ? both are good coins, both are high risk of failure, reward if successful will be massive - only an idiot would buy one instead of both I just don't get coin zealots at all
|
|
|
And what value is there in a mixer when NXT only has a tiny trickle of daily volume? And what daily volume will NXT have now that users have access to a mixer ?

Will staisybit work with importing private keys, or only deposits from synced wallets? I hear ENRG is coming but i can never get it to sync, so hoping your cloud staking works with importing keys too

Looks like TEK might be dying, there are no more open buy orders for it So, not selling might be the best way to preserve HBN now Why so negative about tek? Why would tek die?

@vTorrent, can you give any updates on your progress?
any eta for a client with working torrent functionality?

After jl777 and nxt dev feud it is so silent here , no news of whats going on ,what to expect from btcd ,nothing at all . People dont know what to expect from btcd coin after that nxt jl777 fiasko ,nobody from devs are comunicating ,so disapointing situation Crypto investing, especially in fully decentralized ones, is high risk, with possible high returns. I think jl777 is working hard in stealth mode, so i am buying btcd every week now

Any updates on the testing of the app? Lots of bugs and problems being solved? And how is the "distribution" going to the other coin communities? Are they picking up on it? Hope windows 10 will allow me to run the app on a working phone Rofo...? where are you? Too busy working to follow forum probably

Great interview! I think i will buy some qora today:-)

@James
Your silence is deafening and damaging. Please comment publicly.
comment on what exactly? are you still a Star Trek fan, or strictly Star Wars only now? speaking for myself, i'd love to see chewie and worf going toe-to-toe for a few rounds, it would be close, but i think chewie would win on points

When does the node bounty distribution end?

|

Did the dev pull a satoshi and ditch this coin? The price is so low.
Looks like the community left as well... All alt coins suffering now, even the big ones like supernet and monero. People are still here but hybernating in preparation for better days. fibre has a good future after the ice age ends
