So I don't see how he could have benefited from this, even if his goal was to buy "cheap xmr" we are already cheaper so he would be in red.

He got paid to do it. He even said he did.
Yeah, and he also said that he didn't do this for the money. Which one is it?

So I guess we can all agree that BCX has lost all his credibility and turned himself into a laughing stock at this point.

I just can't help but wonder, for what?

I'm not really expecting an answer to this, but BCX, it's not like you have a lot to lose by coming clean now. Why did you waste it all?

The attack definitely happened, just not in the way BCX said it was going to happen.

It was mostly psychological, and it was pretty brilliant.
I assume you are talking about the price? In my opinion, this correction was long overdue and would have happened regardless of BCX's threat. (I have written why I think so here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.msg8974350#msg8974350)

guess people forgot the drama that amir taaki was involved in

I wasn't here at the time. Care to share some pointers?
He released the source code of a site "bitcoinica" (similar to bitfinex today). He did this without permission. That was bad enough itself, but it turns out the source code included an API key to mtgox which was also used as password for LastPass. Somebody figured this out after he released the source code which resulted in a theft of 40k USD and 40k BTC. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93074.0)

Also this may be of interest (genjix is the username of amir taaki):
For me tbh, I could care less about people like Roger Ver who have a lot of money lost because they have lots more.

Amir,  I look forward to karma coming back to get you.
Believe it or not,  losing 24,000 BTC because of an idiot like you, HAS HAD A BIG BIG IMPACT ON MY LIFE!
People with attitudes like yours give a bad reputation to our entire movement.

Do the world a favor and quit your involvement with Bitcoin.

Sincerely,
Roger Ver

Amir,

I've refrained from getting involved at this point, but how dare you say something like this.

For me tbh, I could care less about people like Roger Ver who have a lot of money lost because they have lots more.

Do you know how much damn work Roger has done to get where he is today? Do you know how many sacrifices he has made for Bitcoin?

Wait...you don't. Know why?

BECAUSE YOU RELEASED THE GODDAMN SOURCE CODE OF BITCOINICA WHICH HAD THE MTGOX API IN IT WHICH LED TO THE THEFT OF ANOTHER 40K BTC AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY USD.

Your fault! No one elses! How dare you say "Oh, I need time off." Please, I've heard that bullshit before.

Oh, and next time you trash and break a Segway in Vienna that Alex paid for because some fat girl offers you a hug...DONT RUN AWAY AND LEAVE THE SEGWAY IN THE STREET!!!!!! (true story for whoever wants to know. Roger, Erik and myself were there)

-Charlie

So yeah, it looks like he made people lose a lot of money and "could care less" about it since they "have lots more".

If they want to dump it hard let them. With only 5 days left until zerocoin I'm sure there are many who would be happy to pick up some cheap coins.

Great job on the forum, don't get me wrong now, but building a forum from scratch takes a lot of time, how much donations was used to fund this? The reason I'm asking is that I would prefer if (my) donations was used for development of the coin itself.

Also, who built the forum?

Does anyone remember http://trading.i286.org/ or clarkmoody that was used for mtgox before it shut down?

Is there any sites like that for bitstamp? (I don't want to use bitcoinwisdom or similar)

I like this one http://bitcointicker.co/
Not too bad, but https://zeroblock.com is the best I have found so far.
What about this one
https://cryptowat.ch/
Not too bad either, but I don't care much about the graph, I'd like the order depth and latest trades to be main focus.

E.g right now, this is my layout at zeroblock:

I'm pretty satisfied with that, but if there are any other sites like it which looks even more like clarkmoody/trading.i286 I'd like to take a look at those.

I used to like i286 but never understood the big deal with clarkmoody.

I prefer wisdom myself but use btccharts....you can modify the layouts how you want there so I don't understand why it wouldn't fit your needs. The only other option would be coinorama, which is pretty much jam packed with info.

I just really liked the design and miss it. I agree i286 was the best one, I used clarkmoody before i286. The site for i286 is still up, but it's not connected to the bitstamp feed. I'm considering trying to dive into it and see if I can fix it myself. But maybe I can get used to zeroblock instead, it's pretty close.

I think (not sure yet) that there is a good chance that we will see double digits before we go up again (reversal).
