pay.btc can you confirm this announcement?
363  Economy / Speculation / Re: The shakedown on: August 18, 2012, 04:05:25 AM
I never exchanged a Bitcoin for fiat in my life and don't plan to start now.

Same here.

You are neither "all in" nor in the right forum. If you are all in, tell me how you pay your bills. If you speculate, you arbitrage other people's panic and lend your coins to panic buyers to buy them back from panic sellers.
Seams to me you two are pussies Wink

Perhaps by "All in" these people meant all the money they can set aside while taking care of bills..... yes i know-thinking logically hurts!
364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica MtGox account compromised on: July 14, 2012, 04:52:40 AM
something tells me that you guys should add videos to accompany these kinds of announcements. people need to be able to see into your eyes and see your sorrow and regret, to know that you're telling the truth.

we'd not have so much of this finger-pointing if that were the case, i'll bet.

365  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER TAG: bitoinica on: July 14, 2012, 01:36:43 AM
i understand everyone's pissyness - but honestly, what really would come out of a scammer tag?  will that get our funds back?  its nothing but a freaking combination of letters under ones username....and we all know who is tied with bitcoinica....

367  Economy / Economics / Barclays: Yet another reason why Bitcoin > Banks on: July 02, 2012, 11:00:10 PM
Quote
At times, Barclays traders sought to affect rates on dates when interest-rate derivatives contracts settled, thus profiting more from trades, according to documents made public by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, one of the agencies conducting the Libor probes. Here’s an e-mail about the three- month rate from a senior Barclays trader in New York to the London banker who submitted the rates: “Hi Guys, We got a big position in 3m libor for the next 3 days. Can we please keep the lib or fixing at 5.39 for the next few days. It would really help. We do not want it to fix any higher than that. Tks a lot.”

Bankers submitting rates responded to such requests as if they were routine: “For you, anything,” and “done ... for you big boy,” according to the e-mails. Not that the efforts went unappreciated: “Dude. I owe you big time!” one trader wrote to a Libor submitter. “Come over one day after work and I’m opening a bottle of Bollinger.”

Barclays traders also coordinated with counterparts from other banks. In an instant message, one Barclays trader wrote to a trader at another bank: “If you know how to keep a secret I’ll bring you in on it, we’re going to push the cash downwards. ... I know my treasury’s firepower ... please keep it to yourself otherwise it won’t work.”

369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitInstant - Providing instant transfer services for the bitcoin economy on: June 27, 2012, 03:44:58 AM
bitinstant, thank you for all the hard work you have done.  you have truly revolutionized how people can obtain bitcons.  im excited to see what is in store for your future ventures....

one questions though... a few weeks ago it seemed like you no longer accept Chase Bank as a source of deposit, can you confirm this and if so explain exactly why?  i emailed you guys a few weeks ago about this very question but haven't gotten a reply yet.

finally,
do you have plans in the future to allow payment through online banking instead of going into a bank and depositing cash?  it would be great to have the ability to use your service from the comfort from ones home/work place to make a deposit instead of having to drive to a local bank.

Annoying customer service reps to death with emails about the awesomeness of bitcoin may not be the best approach. Just sayin.

I really like grooveshark, I too would pay the extra amount if they accepted btc.

I wouldn't really call it annoying emails.  I was very careful about how I approached it and we actually were engaged in some constructive email exchanges.  I'm thinking they either spoke with or more likely just browsed bit-pay or something and just didnt understand it.  I approached mtgox, and bit-pay and they said they would love to talk to grooveshark.  Perhaps this is the CEO they are talking about....
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grooveshark.com and their response to bitcoins on: June 26, 2012, 02:06:57 AM
Instead of asking businesses if they will accept Bitcoin it might be more successful to ask if they will accept Paysius or Bit-Pay. Doing a quick Google search for those terms is going to get the merchant to the relevant information they need a lot more quickly than a search for Bitcoin.

we have been emailing each other every other week.  i have introduced bit-pay paysius and the new mtgox merchant API.  I have linked them to a reddit posting i made about how i have been in contact with grooveshark and the potential with overwhelming support as well as this thread.  i've done everything I can but I feel they just do not understand the potential or are just not willing to even take a look at it....

i have been trying to talk to the coders directly but will have to do some more investigating on who exactly that is because this person will not give me their direct email address.  maybe you guys could help me out do some researching?

and again... email them.  tell them you would pay for their service in bitcoins.  grooveshark seems to really be pushing for some subscription services.  if they get enough emails perhaps it will get past this supposed VIP help desk employee and to the actual coder.

EMAIL viphelp@grooveshark.com and voice your opinion!

BTW i responded to their email asking who exactly the "bitcoin CEO" was that they talked to and elaborating how bitcoin is open source and owned by nobody...
373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grooveshark.com and their response to bitcoins on: June 26, 2012, 12:41:54 AM
well.... some sad news.

I have no freaking clue who the "bitcoin CEO" is they are referring to....  If anyone out there uses grooveshark please send them an email requesting bitcoin integration!  And if any "CEO" spoke with grooveshark would you mind detailing the convo?
374  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: June 25, 2012, 11:48:54 PM
Auto-reinvest settings worked like a champ!  Thanks payb.tc!

You are like pirate for the little depositor!

Hrm... on further inspection the payout lists on bitcoinmax, but not in my wallet.

Anyone else?

Or suggest Paysius.com

I frequent these forums, and watch for bitcoin-related news on the Web. I've never heard of Paysius until I stumbled upon this thread. It seems to be well designed and built. I just checked on the Bitcoin Wiki, there is nothing under "merchant solutions" (which looks scary, by the way), nor "shopping cart interfaces."

The obvious concern is that great, functioning, and simple things like this one do not get exposure they deserve. It'd be a shame if bitcoin fizzled out because of problems of this kind. The network is there, tested and tried. Solutions like Paysius are also there, and there are more coming, but potential new users have a hard time finding out about them.

+1! Ive head the name here or there being quite active on reading the forums  but never looked in to it! This is an amazing service that I plan to use in the future.

I just passed along their website to grooveshark.  Cheesy

passing a currency couple

What does this mean?

from what i can tell it seems like there was some sort of an error in the system that set off a manual intervention....somehow someone set a buy order without any BTC amount attached to it.  very odd and am awaiting an official statement for gox

MagicalTux> looks like someone managed somehow to place an order to buy a couple of nothing
MagicalTux> there was a buy order without "BTC" set
377  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX was down on Jun 23. Now its back up and running. on: June 23, 2012, 11:18:05 PM
<MagicalTux> someone called order/add without passing a currency couple in the new api (was not possible before, but since we standardized calls it became possible)
<MagicalTux> and order/add didn't check if it had a currency couple, since it was not possible to not pass one when it was created
<MagicalTux> not possible anymore, anyway
<MagicalTux> I'll get a clean announce made explaining what happened and how it won't happen again monday
<MagicalTux> (and maybe I should get myself a really loud pager for these specific cases)
<MagicalTux> We'll get an emergency update posted, main priority is to ensure there was no bigger issue than that and resume trading
