3601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 31, 2023, 05:09:22 AM
That Celtics game was something else. They really focused on shutting Giannis down and forcing him to take bad shots. At the same time their offense was incredible behind great games from both Tatum and Brown. They’ve been figuring out how to beat the Bucks for years now and tonight it looked like they had it figured out. The playoffs are going to be great this year.
The playoffs will be exciting, especially if these two teams meet again. While the Celtics found a way to limit Giannis, a best-of-seven series means that both teams will have to make adjustments to secure victory.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans dominated the Nuggets, who were without Jokic, and won by 19 points on the road. This win is crucial for them as they desperately need to win their remaining games.

I’m sure they will meet again in the playoffs. The only team that can really even have a chance to emerge from the East besides those two would be Philly, and I just don’t think a James Harden team can perform well in the playoffs.

I was surprised the Pelicans dominated the Nuggets even without Joker. When the Pelicans get Zion back they’re going to be a nightmare matchup.
3602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Elizabeth Warren says she’s building an anti-crypto army in new campaign on: March 31, 2023, 05:06:55 AM
The most concerning thing that could come from this campaign is someone looking at it and thinking, "Yes, this makes me want to vote for Elizabeth Warren". As a non-politically involved/non-government individual, who in their right mind is thinking that an "anti-crypto army" is something that would be directly beneficial to them and their community? I can only see people who have been scammed in some way that involved cryptocurrency seeing this as a good thing. Elizabeth Warren probably got duped herself, that would explain why she is so anti-crypto Tongue

Analysis aside. The campaign image is a great meme.

I think a lot of her supporters are miserable people who hate everyone and everything. An anti-crypto army to go after those evil crypto bros seems like it fits right in line with what her supporters want to see. More hate, more blaming people for their success, more punishment of those who try to break free of the financial chains the system has placed on us all. It’s right on brand.
3603  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump be indicted ? on: March 31, 2023, 04:43:35 AM
It seems like the entire case against Trump stems from someone breaking an air tight non-disclosure agreement. I don’t think this case goes anywhere but it’s pretty huge news. I think it also opens the door for more political war between the right and left. If you are an American and this makes you happy instead of embarrassed, you probably need to get tested for TDS.
3604  Economy / Speculation / Re: 23 March 2023: SEC issues official warning to crypto investors on: March 31, 2023, 04:38:47 AM
It seems like the SEC and government officials as a whole have started taking a more aggressive stance against crypto and Bitcoin. It seems like they’re getting their “anti-crypto army” assembled and are preparing for a fight. While the government trying to stop crypto has always been the biggest hurdle to climb, and it appears that battle is about to begin, I would remind people that first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you… Now is when we win.
3605  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto traders beaten by girls on: March 31, 2023, 04:35:19 AM
I’m not sure I believe how accurate this data is, but if I were to make an assumption about why it could be true… I would say that historically speaking the holders of Bitcoin have done quite well where traders have not. So perhaps women are buying and stacking while men think they can trade and outperform leaving them to find out the hard way that isn’t easy. Seems logical to me.
3606  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Casinos Launched in Canada on: March 31, 2023, 04:33:27 AM
It seems like Canada’s loose laws regarding online gambling coupled with its close proximity to the United States is quickly turning it into a growing home for online casino businesses to run. I think that in the past we’ve seen people take gambling trips to Mexico but perhaps in the future you’ll see influencers start taking trips to Canada to stream their gambling endeavors.

3608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 30, 2023, 10:38:42 PM
How about the games tomorrow?

It's only 2 games but 1 of them is a must see battle, it's between the Bucks and the Celtics. Holiday just had a huge game against the Pacers with 51 points, (not sure if this is his career though). I'm still not decided as to who to beat on this game.

On the other game, it's the Nuggets vs the Pelicans, I might go with the Nuggets here at handicap.

That 51 points he made versus the Indiana Pacers was indeed Jrue Holiday's career high, and that performance he made got me interested because I'm looking forward to him -seeing if he can still duplicate his performance or even retain the energy later against the Boston Celtics.

In-fact I will bet on their favor -3 because I got this feeling that Khris Middleton and Jae Crowder might return as well because they are upgraded to be probable as of now. This will be a good game to see, a battle of two giants in the East.

I really don't the match against Indiana Pacers should be a metric of what should be expected here, I'd really fancy the Milwaukee Bucks too, but we all know how twisted this match can be, it often deviates away from the major expectation and it's sometimes always dependent about how the Celtics defense is setup to limit Giannis and neutralize Jrue, that's a daunting tasks but the Celtics are team have had a couple success doing, and the Celtics getting out by washington wizards would be form of wake up call for them too, I guess.

I'm taking the -3 on Bucks too, but I'm interested in the match itself because I don't much on the line for the match.

I honestly have no idea who will win between the Bucks and Celtics. Giannis is playing great at the moment which makes the Bucks pretty unstoppable, but the Celtics are one of the best teams in the league so it’ll be a great show. Glad it’ll be on TNT. Then the second game between the Nuggets and the Pelicans I feel a little better about the outcome being a Nuggets victory, but it’s basically a must win game for the Pelicans so they’ll be giving it their all… I think I’ll refrain from putting any money behind guesses tonight.
3609  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Stacks Bowers Physical Cryptocurrency Auction 2023 Thread on: March 30, 2023, 08:14:48 PM
Would love to see a 10BTC Casascius go for auction there....loaded and unloaded.

I can't recall ever seeing a 10 BTC peeled Cas coin for sale on forum in all these years here.

Yeah, rare as hen's teeth Tongue
I have only ever seen one in all my years....

For you to say that means quite alot!  LOL

In all my years in crypto...I was able to acquire a silver 10 BTC redeemed one....and once came across a 10 BTC silver/gilt in very bad shape on ebay years ago. Since then its been pretty dead.

If you ever want to buy a loaded one of either type, you know where you can find them… I think the reason they aren’t seen more often is because buyers want them for 10.5 BTC and sellers want to sell them for 15 BTC. The only sale I can recall ever seeing here was I believe Anduck selling his. I think it was for sale for 14.5 BTC for years before someone finally snagged it.

Durant was a monster, without a doubt, Charles should stop talking shit about him.  Grin

I’m defense of Charles, Durant is pretty sensitive and it is Chuck’s job to comment about things like that. I think when Charles goes out of his way to talk about Durant on other people’s podcasts he is probably crossing a line a little, but it is his job so I’m not surprised other people want to talk to him about this sort of thing. Durant just needs to learn to take criticism with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, when you are getting paid big bucks, part of it is because of what you have to deal with.
3611  Other / Meta / Re: TheBitcoinTalkShow - 5 feb - Bitcointalk was hacked on: March 30, 2023, 07:40:26 AM
@cyurus, can you shed some light on the future (if any) of this show?

I'm curious about this as well.  Was it that viewership failed to meet expectations, that it wasn't fun enough, that it was too much work, that it wasn't raising enough money from sponsors, that it was too time consuming?  Maybe even a combination of all those things?  That leads me to ask the question of what it would take to make TheBitcoinTalkShow a reality again?  People definitely seem overwhelmingly interested in more episodes.  Seems like if fun was being had in the production of the show, there's a chance to bring it back.
3612  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: March 30, 2023, 06:20:47 AM
How we reached to talking about members of DT abusing their position, from ChipMixer being a honeypot is something you only know of.

This is literally a thread about why we cannot discuss chipmixer being a honeypot. It’s very relevant. I foretold everything that happened to chipmixer and as a result of my sounding the warning bells, I received distrust in the DT network from several of their campaign participants. Literally proving the point that this thread was trying to make, which is that if you speak out against chipmixer’s money laundering, you will be retaliated against. It’s important that people have this information, and very relevant to this thread.
3613  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 30, 2023, 06:12:43 AM
Resistance at $29K has been broken. I’m feeling a little better about my prediction we’d end the month at $30K, but time is running out. Still, I’m happy with the increase we’ve seen off the lows. The market is pricing itself pretty much exactly in line with my personal expectations, which is exciting when you consider that I believe it’s possible for BTC to hit $800K by the end of 2025.
3614  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] MtGox distribution, early payment or full payment? on: March 30, 2023, 06:09:36 AM
I heard 50 cents on the dollar up to 10000 in coin.

So if you lost 10,000 you get 5,000
if you lost 9,000 you get 4,500
if you lost 6,000 you get 3,000

but if you lost 11,000 you get only 5000

if you lost 20,000 you get only 5,000

so if i had any in there under 11,000 I think I would cash out.

and if I were over 20,000 I would not cash out.

The gray area is 11,000-20,000

Nah, we aren’t getting that much back. It’s closer to 15% of your BTC back. I wish it were 50%, but that isn’t going to happen. Even at a 15% return rate, it’s still a significantly higher USD amount than was lost so it’s hard to be too upset about it. I probably would’ve spent the money on silver or god knows what else over the last 10 years, so it’s a bit of a bittersweet return of funds. Not sure where you heard that 50% number, but it’s wildly incorrect.
3615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 30, 2023, 05:49:35 AM
Glad the Suns were able to pull out a win tonight against the Timberwolves. That first half was ugly. KAT was putting on a shooting display and Durant couldn’t make a shot. Things changed in the second half though. KD hit a few shots, Booker got hot, and Anthony Edwards was hitting everything. Great game. Glad I got to be there to see KD make his debut in Phoenix. Smiley

EDIT: I took a couple photos.  This one was probably my favorite.

3616  Other / Meta / Re: staff were asked to stop advertising mixing services on: March 29, 2023, 06:45:44 PM
Nice to see this forum doing the right thing for it's users finally...  Even if this was likely the result of legal action...  It was incredibly shady to push these mixers as privacy enabling while almost all of the scams in this community have been laundering their stolen funds through these services.  I'm not sure why it took the government shutting down mixers to get action done, but I guess that falls into the anarchist until times get tough leadership we seem to have here.  Still, I'm glad that sanity finally prevailed, even if it's currently only staff being asked to not advertise money laundering.  A small step in the right direction to keep users here safe and the least that can be done on a site that advertises they don't moderate against scams.

I was asked what to expect in the form of donations on these coins...  Rather than give my opinion or try to explain where we're at currently or what our plans are for the future, maybe it's best that I just link to the historical information so that people can decide for themselves as I don't control the level of donations that NastyFans receives and have no way to predict the future.  We do make a public list available of all historical distributions though, and that's really all I can point to for people to evaluate for themselves and adjust their expectations accordingly.

Historical distribution list:

3618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 29, 2023, 06:36:21 PM
I've gotta say it...  The Suns are unleashing Kevin Durant tonight and the Minnesota Timberwolves have been getting over injuries and trying to get back into the swing of things.  I suspect that the Suns are going to try and send a message for Durant's home debut and given the Timberwolves health struggles lately, I think this should be a good win for the Suns.  Phoenix is also finding themselves much closer to the play-in tournament than they'd like to be I'm sure, so a win here will give them a little more space and show what this team is capable of with a healthy Durant.  For that reason, I wouldn't be mad at anyone throwing a few bucks on the Suns tonight.
3619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 29, 2023, 06:33:32 PM
It's funny reading about Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverly talking smack to each other about how they were going to "bust" each other's "ass" on the floor.  This is quite a change from a couple of months ago when they were teammates talking about all the great things they've done for each other and how great of friends they are...  Time reveals all.  Luckily for Westbrook, his new Clippers were able to beat the Bulls where his former team just lost to them.  That has to make him feel a little better after his time in LA.  Russell Westbrook has had some great games lately, so it's looking like his career might not be quite finished yet.
3620  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to use crypto to miximize profits through sport betting. on: March 29, 2023, 04:47:45 PM
Do you want to maximize your profits while betting on sports but don't know where or how to start? Crypto is rapidly going traction as an investment opportunity, and now you can use digital currency while playing all type of sport betting

I don’t really understand how the currency you’re betting makes a difference on the amount of profits from gambling that you receive. The casino doesn’t care if you’re betting dollars or widgets. Sure, it might be faster and easier to deposit crypto into an online casino than making a money transfer, but once the funds are there I don’t think it matters much for your profits outside of maybe the exchange rate fluctuations.
