3601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Every 4 Year on: April 08, 2022, 03:44:29 AM
Bitcoin Every 4 Year

2010: $1
2014: $400
2018: $6,000
2022: $50,000
2026: $300,000?

Whatever. There are infinite ways to follow a series, especially as in this case the numbers are taken in isolation from what may happen in the real world in 2026. It will not be the same that in 2026 there will be several more countries like El Salvador with Bitcoin as a legal currency, that some of the largest companies in the world, such as Amazon, have bought Bitcoin for their reserves and accept it as a means of payment, than if all this has not happened and very unfavorable regulations are approved as the one planned in the European Union:

Goodbye, privacy, goodbye, it was nice while it lasted.
3602  Economy / Economics / Re: WTF? Food prices expected to raise up to 50% in German supermarket. on: April 08, 2022, 03:33:54 AM
...
The basic needs of humans are gas and oil...

I don't quite understand your sentence, it seems to me to be irony. If so, I'd like to specify that gas and oil are not basic needs but eating, heating in winter, and cooking (without having to make fire with wood) are basic needs or are very close to them.

The food we eat is transported thanks to oil, and in order to mass produce it, oil is also used.

Honestly, I am sad to see German citizens who complain that food prices have increased dramatically during the sanctions imposed by their country on Russia. I know that the german government imposed sanctions on russia so that putin can stop his madness, hopefully other countries can help the difficulties that germany is facing.

You don't know much about Europe, do you? Germany is the most economically powerful country in Europe, and there are countries where they are even worse, as would be the southern countries, although this would be largely due to pre-war problems, but the other European countries are not going to help Germany, in order to help them they would have to be economically better off, and that is not the case.
3603  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I planned to keep my keys, good or stupid? on: April 08, 2022, 03:23:09 AM
Is this too much or not bad? I plan to keep my recovery keys in four separate locations, a brand new flash memory from Huawei, a brand new WD External hard drive, my book with a strong cover and my wardrobe, in my wardrobe you can't easily see it because its always dark in there, I use my torchlight to carve those words in there and its even written on the top inside the wardrobe, I tend to keep it this way for now till I can get a Nano X.

About the ways to save the seeds you have already been given good answers, what I want to focus on is to save them in 4 different places. If the funds you have are something like $20 it seems to me exaggerated, it would be more logical to want to save them in so many places if you have something like $2M. Although it seems to me you're closer to the former than the latter if you don't have a Nano X yet. I would think a couple of different sites that are highly secure is fine.
3604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin traders are denied bank accounts globally by the banks- Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 08, 2022, 03:10:29 AM
Many Bitcoin traders are finding difficulties opening  bank account in their own countries. It is a big problem and it need to be discussed to find a solution.

The Bitcoin traders need banking service from the banking industry without discrimination. If the fiat banks continuously deny the Bitcoin traders bank account then I must have a solution, so all the Bitcoin traders can accelerate the Bitcoinu businesses to progress rapidly.

The solution to this problem is 'we' need to setup a bank, let's discuss and support me, I on the way to set up a Commercial Crypto Bank.

Does bitcoin community globally need a bank ?

Moses Goldman aka
Satoshi Nakamoto

I'm going to take your thread the same way I take your personal text, as a joke.

If you are half serious, explain me one thing: Bitcoin traders, those who are dedicated to buy and sell bitcoin depending on their expectations of it going up or down, how come:

1) don't already have a bank account? In order to be able to buy moderately significant amounts of Bitcoin, they have somehow had to be able to convert fiat to Bitcoin.
2) What do they need a bank account for?

3605  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FAKE Coin Market CAP ICO coinmarketcoin.io on: April 07, 2022, 06:24:09 AM
It is clearly a scam, but I wonder: once we know this, is there any way to report it so that the authorities can take action?

In addition to the above, the Terms & Condition Privacy Policy Contact Us links obviously do not work.

I guess the domain will be hosted somewhere difficult to take down and it is not as easy as reporting it to the police in your country and they can take down the site.
3606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Three thousand Bitcoin ATM Installed In first quarter Of 2022 on: April 07, 2022, 06:05:38 AM
To try to see where the increase of bitcoin ATMs takes place during Q1, we can take a look at the growth chart and subsequent territorial charts. The readings are slightly shifted from those in the article (slight date shift), but boil down to:

Code:
Area                          01/04/2022    01/01/2022      Diff Q1
WorldWide                     36.656         34.293         2.363

Europe                        1.378          1.398          -20
USA                           32.223         30.068         2.155
Canada                        2.346          2.159          187
UK                            23             99             -76
Austria                       137            140            -3
Spain                         196            171            25
Switzerland                   142            137            5

Q1 is really closer to 2K (2.363) than 3K (which is what the article states), but leaving that aside, growth during Q1 is essentially concentrated in the US and at a far distance by Canada.

I am not surprised to see that the number of ATMs in Europe and the UK has decreased. What happened in the UK has already been commented on the forum:

Bitcoin ATMs forced to shutdown in the UK

In Europe I guess it is more or less the same: implementation of stricter KYC/AML policies.

The only attraction that this type of ATMs can have is to buy/sell without KYC, as they have very high fees, and to pay those fees and on top of that with KYC, better to buy or sell where the fees are considerably lower.

There may be other specific cases of people who like to try ATM with small amounts, but non-KYC seems to me to be the main reason to use them.
3607  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do you want to be an admin of an online casino? on: April 07, 2022, 03:52:02 AM
Hi guys, general cost is 0.5 btc, with just 0.01 you will receive a commission of 0.0005 btc per month, that is 5%.
Post your offer on my telegram and we can verify good conditions of partnerships, we accept any proposal.

minimum bid is 0.001 btc and maximum is 0.10 btc

My telegram is @cont_luizxind

I am available to clarify any doubts.

The title of your thread is a bit misleading, because apart from a manager, you are looking for an investor, even if it is a small investment.

As you will see, there are several doubts about the project, and those of us who have commented so far do not seem willing to invest.

If you are looking for a manager, why do you want him to invest 2% of the cost? Just pay him a salary, in relation to the profits if you want.

I understand that the commission that the manager would get, is apart from the salary, isn't it? I don't think anyone is going to work as a manager for 0.0005 btc per month.

3608  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predicts Bitcoin price by 2025 on: April 07, 2022, 03:27:08 AM
Many experts, including asset managers and crypto analysts including predict Bitcoin by 2025 see below

Pavel Shtikin Bitcoin Forecast the CEO of Nominex exchange predict $500,000 by 2025.

Justin Chuh, a senior trader at Wave Financial predict $210,000 by  2025.

Max Keiser, predict $100,000 by 2025.

https://finance-yahoo-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/bitcoin-price-predictions-2025-081018595.html?amp_js_v=a6&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D#aoh=16487540851339&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Ffinance.yahoo.com%2Fnews%2Fbitcoin-price-predictions-2025-081018595.html

What do you think about Bitcoin in the year 2025, please state your predictions of Bitcoin by  2025.

It is curious because the predictions of the so-called experts, and in some cases of the very people you cite, were much more bullish for 2021 than they are now supposedly for 2025. Let's look at Max Keiser:

"Keiser predicts Bitcoin will hit $220,000 by the end of 2021..."

Although Keiser to me is clearly a loudmouth, because although he got the price right for 2020, he also has a number of disastrously failed predictions, which he doesn't want to remember:

WTF? Do you think a major Central Bank will close soon?
3609  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ChainEX.io is SCAM on: April 07, 2022, 03:11:21 AM
I think the exchange is reputable.

They should be able to make you verify again if it's just a spelling error.

I don't know the exchange and I don't know if it has a good reputation or not, but it seems to me that the OP has rushed to accuse of scamming for what could be a routine procedure when the name given when you register on the site does not match the legal documentation.

Chainex locked my account and ask for verification,
when I do so they still refuse to unlock my account, the reason is because I have a mistake in the spelling of my name.

Now all my coins are lost, I hope nobody else will experience that.

If you want us to start thinking that it really is a scam, the less you provide evidence such as screenshots and more step-by-step details of what happened.
3610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here, Is it a scam or what? They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hou on: April 07, 2022, 02:57:34 AM
They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hours you win $2000

I took a picture of the conversation but I can't download the picture here

As other fellows have already explained, it is clearly a scam. Now I want to give you a rule to detect scams:

The price of Bitcoin has grown since its inception at an average of less than 200% per year. Let's round up and consider 200%. Any seemingly fabulous offer that promises you more than that is a scam, as in this case it promises you 2000% in 24 hours, which would be 730000% per year.

It's not that it's impossible to get that return on a legitimate investment, for example investing in a startup or a fancy shitcoin, but if someone promises you above that return they are trying to scam you.
3611  Other / Off-topic / Re: An Unforgettable Day In my Crypto world on: April 07, 2022, 02:45:26 AM
When I'm new to this crypto sea,I wondered about many things that my boy shared who is a crypto marketer since 2013.He told about rise in value of all coins, trading, how altcoins played a role .I mesmirized seeing more than 1 crore he has in his pocket. His hardwork, his holdings finally went worthless because we lost everything in a single day owing to market crash the day we forced to cash out the holded money for a very emergency need. I lost my hope. My love towards crypto made me cry at last.we forced to pay debts. But Currently his hardwork again made me to get focused towards crypto ,also myself into it.I think a day comes I will share here again with an statement Crypto Saved My Life.

I am sorry for what happened to you but I have to tell you that, as usual in this type of posts, I see again a breach of the most basic rules of personal finance and investment:

1) Only invest money you can afford to lose.
2) Have an emergency fund for contingencies.

I hope that if you invest in "crypto" (or better, Bitcoin) again, you will do it respecting these two rules. And the more you read about personal finance and investing the better.

3612  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thodex: Turkish Crypto Exchange Owner Runs Off After Stealing $2 Billion on: April 06, 2022, 06:22:29 AM
This is another case of "not your keys, not your coins", While I understand that there are people who may temporarily have funds on exchanges for trading, and it doesn't have to be all stolen cryptocurrencies, there will also be some fiat that people deposit to buy crypto later.

...what cannot be denied is many have been left out of pocket as a result of the Thodex scam that is why the Turkish prosecutors would want heavy sentences to show others what they can expect if they try to scam people.

The problem with these cases is that usually not all that is owed is recovered and, I do not know what the law will be like in Turkey, but I assume that large creditors (e.g. banks) will be paid first if money is recovered. In addition, it will take time for those who had some funds there to recover something.

A pity because I suppose there will be cases where they need that money.
3613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, wants to give away 99% of his money on: April 06, 2022, 06:02:08 AM
This is to remember if anyone believes that all rich people are greedy and bad people. In some cases, of course they are, but we have many others who come the moment when what they earn far exceeds what they can consume, they start thinking about how to help others, as this would be the case if he tells the truth, and so it seems:

I usually am quite skeptical of people making such claims, but this is one of those few instances that I'm actually convinced. Dude's a full-on nerd that just plays League of Legends and Dungeons and Dragons for enjoyment; not the typical rich a-hole that spends a lot of money on blackjack and hookers.

The cases I have known of rich people spending money on that have been by inheritance, that kind of spending is not representative of the self-made entrepreneur.
3614  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold-backed ruble could be a game-changer on: April 06, 2022, 05:51:37 AM
Quote
Linking the currency to gold and energy is a paradigm shift for the global economy, a precious metals analyst tells RT

The Bank of Russia has resumed gold purchases this week, but more importantly, the regulator is doing so at a fixed price of 5,000 rubles ($59) per 1 gram between March 28 and June 30, raising the possibility of Russia returning to the gold standard for the first time in over a century.

If the country takes the next step, as has been proposed this week, to sell its commodities priced in rubles, these combined moves could have huge implications for the ruble, the US dollar, and the global economy.

To get some answers, RT spoke to precious metals analyst Ronan Manly at BullionStar Singapore.

— Why is setting a fixed price for gold in rubles significant?

By offering to buy gold from Russian banks at a fixed price of 5,000 rubles per gram, the Bank of Russia has both linked the ruble to gold and, since gold trades in US dollars, set a floor price for the ruble in terms of the US dollar.

...

Talk of a formal gold standard for the ruble might be premature, but a gold-backed ruble must be something the Bank of Russia has considered.

There is an essential difference between buying gold with rubles at a fixed price and what is being said about tying the ruble to gold. To really tie it would be to commit to giving x amount of gold per ruble, as was done before with the gold standart but that is not what we are talking about.

I agree that it is a move that can help strengthen the currency in the short term but it seems to me that the news has been overhyped in some media.

I am skeptical of claims russia will back the ruble with gold.

Me too.

3615  Economy / Economics / Re: New Financial Year Begins | Are you ready? on: April 06, 2022, 03:29:02 AM
However, talking about the exclusive year, we are here today on 1st of April, begins the race for new Financial Year.

I don't know where you are writing from, but you should know that the financial or fiscal year is different in different countries around the world. It usually coincides with the calendar year (from January to December), even though the income tax return starts around this time.

Take a look at this: Fiscal year.

Regarding what you ask, I am always prepared. It makes no difference in terms of managing my finances that a year supposedly starts, which after all is an arbitrary division of time. For me it's just another day and I keep on going.
3616  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: IRS crypto tax audit letter confirmed by crypto tax firm on: April 06, 2022, 03:13:05 AM
I think this will be a problem especially for those who do trading and the more operations the more the problem, although I understand that there are specific programs for this.

But a long term investor who has made several purchases and has not sold anything will have no problem, or maybe he has sold a small part of his holdings near the ATH last year can easily declare it.
3617  Other / Meta / Re: Help end this phase for Nigerians @Theymos on: April 06, 2022, 02:59:01 AM
It becomes sad that, no African nation has a local board on the forum admist requirements met.

I fully support the request for a local Board for Nigeria, which I think theymos should seriously consider in view of this. I often interact in threads with several Nigerians on the forum and in view of their representation on the forum, the size of their country and the adoption of cryptocurrencies in the country, in my opinion a local board should be created for them.

It is not understandable that there are local boards for countries with much smaller population and not for Nigeria.

3618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is NFT? & How to get free NFTs on coinmarketcap on: April 06, 2022, 02:47:19 AM
I had one question to all NFT lovers.
Is there any really free NFT worth anything?
Probably we can get many free nft over different platform (not cmc only). But what we can do with them? Is it possible to sold them whenever we want? Or just need to wait something special?
Unlike the usual tokens we know, selling an NFT is a shit load of pain. You have to wait for someone foolish enough to buy it and give you their ETH or BNB.
It's why I have never bothered owning even one

That's what I was thinking. I guess there are some very highly priced NFTs, but the likelihood that an NFT you get for free at CMC is going to be worth a significant amount seems to me to be close to zero. In the same way that the amounts of Bitcoin or alts you can get on faucets are laughable. I guess someone will hit the lottery and some NFT he gets will multiply in value, but OP's strategy to get money seems to me a waste of time.
3619  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microstrategy rug us again? on: April 06, 2022, 02:36:52 AM
Bitcoin sharply drop after Microstrategy announced they purchased a total of 4167BTC. The price is building a bullish momentum when the price drop coincidentally after the announcement. This is not the first time happened that involves whale company announce positive new while price moves in opposite way.

Does this institutional investors manipulating the price or traders is just using there news as a negative signal?

Hey man! You need to revise your way of reasoning. As already explained to you:

If it only happened once then it might have been a coincidence.

Think about it. Would it make sense for them to want the price to drop, literally just after pouring 200 million dollars? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to want the price to drop before their purchase?

Something something correlation is not causation.

That Microstrategy buys Bitcoin to shoot itself in the foot and drive the price down after buying is the most outlandish theory I've heard in a while. You have to think beyond: "one thing has happened after another several times, therefore one thing causes the other."
3620  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: What can we Do to Reduce Ponzi scheme? on: April 05, 2022, 06:28:54 AM
Except that they are. The idea that an investment can work without any actual means of cash flow but rather depending on investment funds is dubious and unsustainable; Any one who organizes a Ponzi scheme understand that it would be crashing at any time and would take steps to secure their loot earlier whole waiting for that.

There's a limit to how long one can recycle money among investors before the whole charade crashes.

I completely agree on this and that, as the OP has been told, there is nothing we can do to reduce them. Scammers and the ingenuity and greed of those who will be scammed doesn't look like it will disappear from the face of the earth any time soon.

On the other hand, we only talk about ponzi schemes in these contexts, and fail to remember or realize that, for example, pay-as-you-go pension systems are also a ponzi scheme that can only be sustained if the population continues to grow indefinitely.
