It's not first company which did such thing, and obviously, not last. Things are just starting. And then they say that vaccination isn't mandatory, but sometimes people jsut dn't have other choice.
I'm not anti vaxxer and I got vaccinated already, but I'm against mandatory vaccination. People shouldn't be forced to take vaccine, it should their own choice. Do they really expect to reach 100% of vaccinated people?
After all, for example if all people in CNN office got vaccinated, these 3 unvaccinated people aren't dangerous for them at all. Yes, you will say that even vaccinated people still can get infected. But in most cases, there is no serious symptoms, what isn't big deal.

So, Tokyo 2020 Olympics is over. I think that even without spectators and with all Covid restrictions it was great Olympics. Big respect to Japan for making Olympics in such difficult conditions. On the last day USA took 1st place on medal table from China, after winning women basketball and volleyball finals. Not that much wait until next Olympics in Paris - just 3 years. And just half year left until Bejing 2022 Winter Olympics. Now after 2 weeks I finally will get some sleep . |

It was so difficult and sad to watch Messi press conference. He confirmed that he wanted to stay, even offered to cut his wage by 50%. But because of La Liga rules, he couldn't stay even if he would play for free. Unbeleavable what Bertomeu did with club.
It's difficult to imagine Barca without Messi, but this club was before Messi and it will be after Messi. But in upcoming seasons we will have to reduce our ambitions a bit.

Boomers won!
It's the first time in their whole Olympic competition to have a medal.
I have high expectation for Luka but Patty Mills (42 points) and Joe Ingles was just dominating the game.
But this is a good sign for the Slovenian team, maybe at this point, more players in their home country will have more passion for basketball.
This is also their first time to go that far at 4th place.
I'm happ for Australia win. After all, it's one of powerhourses in basketball and it's something unbeleavable that's just first their medal in Olympics. Mills is great player, but when he play for his national team, he becomes even better. I got impression that Doncic minds still were in lost semifinal and it didn't let him to play well today. Too much talking with referees, to many bad emotions. But it can be somehwat justified, he is still very young. This is exactly why I honestly believe that Euroleague needs to grow bigger and bigger. If we could get euroleague to grow bigger, and have a lot more games, then they can grow a lot bigger as well.
Think about it this way, only 18 teams in a euroleague season right? What if you added more teams to that? Make it 30 teams? That way they will be able to actually increase the game count as well, even if you make it twice against everyone league method, that would allow teams to have 58 games, plus playoffs just like NBA would mean that every team could have as much as 87 games, that would mean 7 game series for 4 rounds which is hard, but anything in between 75 to 87 basically, and that is seriously amazing profit making.
With that they could get team planes for nearly every team, or at least euro league could have some planes for teams who do not have it and can charter. That will allow some good players to grow there, get paid a lot there and maybe not leave for NBA, or at least give them a chance to fight against USA a bit more because they have some huge league there as well.
Such thing wouldn't work in Europe. First of all because Euroleague teams also have to play in their national leagues, and combined it with Euroleague, number of games per season is already close to 100. Then they would have to leave national leagues and play in Euroleague only. And such closed league wouldn't be good for European basketball, same like European Super League in football. Also, with 30 teams, level of competition would drop significantly. In Europe there is not enough teams with big enough budgets and Euroleague level rosters. |

Brazil won football gold medal after beating Spain 2:1 in extra time. I think it's deserved win because Brazil were slightly better today.
Amazing volleyball final. France were leading 2:0, but ROC made incredible comeback 2:2 and sent game to decisive 5th set, were BaziFrancel finally won.
Handball finall was great to, where France beat Denmark 25:23. Denmark fighted until last seconds, but France goalkeeper was like a wall. Also, on last minutes, reserve France goalkeeper saved important 7 meter free throw.
Very interesting women high jump final. ROC athlete Mariya Lasitskene won gold with 2.04 m jump. It's very high result.
There is some events remaining on last day - women basketball, handball and volleyball finals, men and women water polo finals, boxing and rhytmic gymanstics. And as always, last medals will be given on men marathon.

It was great final with fight until last seconds. USA had chance to close game earlier, but missed free throws and some mistakes didn't let them to make it.
For France pick & roll with Gobert worked very well, USA made many fouls against him. But unfortunately for France, he isn't good at free throws

Is it just for me it looks strange that 3rd place game will be played after final?
I would like to see France win, but chance for it is very little. Beating USA twice in competition sounds mission impossible. That loss in first game was good kick into ass for USA and they started playing more seriously. They had slow start in some games, but they start to play with higher intensity after halftime. And it's almost impossible to stop Durant.
In 3rd place game bookmakers are giving advantage to Slovenia, but I think it's 50/50 pair. Australia played in many Olympics, but they never won medal. While for Slovenia it's chance to take medal in the firrst Olympics in their basketball history. Value of game is huge for both teams.

Well, it's almost end of Olympics and Saturday we have lot of finals, especially in team sports. USA - France in basketball final. Brazil - Spain in football, difficult to predict who is favorite. France - Russia volleyball final. Denmark - France handball final also sounds very interesting. Seems that France have good time in team events, they will play in finals of most popular sports like basketball, volleyball and handball.
Also, last day of athletics events with 400m relay, 1500m, 10000m and women high jumping finals.
It will be difficult to pick what to watch.

What an amazing final in man 100m relay. Britain were leading until last metres and just before finish line Italy turned into leaders. Who could have thought that Italy can win gold there? Amazing.
In women 100m relay, Jamaica won confident.
Finally my country Lithuania won first medal in Tokyo. In modern pentathlon. Before last event she was over 40 seconds behind top 3, but she made amazing sprint and even 10 seconds penalty didn't stopped her from taking Silver medal
Despite this, with just 1 Silver medal, it's not good Olympics for us. In Rio we had 4 medals, in London - 6, including 2 Gold.

I wasn't ready for these news about Messi. If last summer I was already for Messi departure, now I was confident that he will sign new contract. New era for Barca, without Messi and in huge debt, we, Barca fans, brace ourselves, winter is coming. After all these years itwill be difficult to imagine Barca without Messi. Yeah, not bad day for me. I'm also amazed about Gent - RFS result, especially when Riga were leading 2:0. But it's one of matches when small club make few shots during whole game and convert it into goals and park bus. Slovenia - France was really great game, despite of referees who made somw questionable calls. Doncic made triple double, 18 assists is insane number, but it wasn't his day at all, he missed a lot of shots. On last attack Slovenia did everything right, but that Batum block was iconic.
Australia started game very well, and were leading by 15 points at one point. USA defense was a joke, and in attack there was no ball movement and only individual actions. But things changed after USA timeout in 2nd quarter. And it was impossible to stop Durant again.

We have another record in athletics beaten - this time in 400 metres hurdles by USA athlete Sydney McLaughlin. In these Olympic games we have quite a lot records beaten in athletics and it's a bit surprising because of pandemic athletes had limited ability to exercise (especially during complete lockdown last year) and less competition to participate.

Benfica won against Spartak 0:2. Not much what to say about game, simply better team won and they have confident advantage before 2nd leg at home. Ferencvaros won against Slavia 2:0 and I think it's surprise. I don't use Watchlist or any of these notification bots. I prefer ''Show new replies to ypur posts'' where I check topics whic are interesting for me. Why don't this forum just notifies the users if they get quoted? Isn't it an obvious “must”?
It's same thing can be said like about all features that we are missing on this forum. It would be difficult to add new features on this old forum version. And probably notifications will be on new forum software. |
