Raina quit IPL2020 on account of his family issue but Bhajji skip IPL2020 because of corona pandemic, yet very reasonable point to get understand. We must respect their perspective anyway it's difficult to imagine CSKs without Raina and Bhaji as a fan, I keep missing both of them. Can't do anything for that except supporting them.

Their absence is something that can't be reversed. But at the same time, CSK without these players is not recognizable. These 4-5 players form the soul of CSK. I am talking about Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja.etc. New players may be able to replace them, but the fans may not be comfortable in supporting a squad which looks drastically different.
3602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too many listed coins on exchange without volume, any reasons? on: September 05, 2020, 06:27:42 AM
Now very many coins listed on the market are illiquid and some have stated that the project on the coin has not been completed as long as the coin is not liquid, in my opinion many illiquid coins are all a result of projects that do not run as expected and the project is scam, and if the coin that does not have volume should be wiped out in the market so that we are easier to find liquid coins.

If the promoters are able to keep the hype alive, then the trade volume would be good. On the other hand, the trade volume will be minimal for those coins, where the promoters have made their exit. Even after they dump their coins, it will remain alive at the exchange for sometime. To avoid the suspicion, the promoters usually deploy bots to keep the trade kicking for a few more days.

Loan is granted when the banks sees a potential that you can pay them and it will be defined by your statements, as we all say the collateral. Personally I don't want to get a loan with collateral, like a property, or a car, coz obviously you can't take the half of the car just to pay them, so they will just get it to you as a payment, in short it will be over paid. Don't do collateral!

Well.. no one want to provide collateral, but some of us don't have any other option. Banks refuse to provide the loans, if you don't have a collateral. In that case, you need to go to the private moneylenders, and this is like the riskiest option. Their interest rates are sky high and you will end up losing all of your possessions while trying to repay them.

I don't want to divert the topic. But around the world this pandemic is destroying the lives of so many people. From the stats you may think that less than a million have died as a result of COVID 19. But in reality hundreds of millions are impacted negatively, due to loss of jobs and erosion of savings.

That sputnik V vaccine is only available for phase 3 testing tho! It wasn't even a confirmed and safe vaccine as of now. There are news that once it pass the phase 3, they want to mass produce it asap, but nope! It still requires phase 4, we cannot rely on vaccines that are created without the proper testing.

There are more than 10 vaccines that are trying to be tested for phase 3 in our country, I just hope no side effects would emerge from the people who are trying these vaccines, I am hoping for a vaccine too, but a vaccine that has gone through the right process of course!

There is good news for Sputnik V. Yesterday a report from The Lancet (one of the most reputed medical journals in the world) confirmed that Sputnik V was 100% successful in producing antibodies against the Coronavirus for those who participated in the Phase 3 testing. But these trials involved only 38 individuals and more people may need to be tested before the WHO would certify the vaccine.

Holy cow Juggy777 so many articles eh.. using phone so can't read all, Sorry  Grin

This article posted by Juggy777 caught my attention:

https://www.thecitizen.in/index.php/en/NewsDetail/index/11/16740/Fans-and-Players-Overwhelmingly-Favour-Test-Cricket---But-is-the-ICC-Interested

It claims that the fans and the players are overwhelmingly favoring test format. I don't think that this is accurate. Because at least in my area, the number of cricket fans who favor the longer format are less in number. And talking about the players, obviously we have a few who are concentrating on the longer version after retiring from the shorter format. But the number who went in the opposite direction is far higher.

Okay guys, leave IPL discussion for one moment and concentrate on current T-20 Series (Aus vs Eng)

Australia won the toss and opted to ball first, Keep in mind this contest is between No 1 and 2 team in T-20 so finger cross for close contest.

Tom Banton had such a good series against Pakistan, but he failed today. Tail has almost started for England, with Moeen Ali at the crease. If England want to get to a score around 180-200, then Dawid Malan needs to make sure that he stays there till the end. Ali is not in great form with the bat, and the same can be said about Tom Curran as well. And after Curran, we have four tail-end batsmen.

Edit: Moeen Ali is gone. England in deep trouble.
3607  Other / Off-topic / Re: It's time to destroy China, don't buy anything from them ,don't deal with them on: September 04, 2020, 12:09:15 PM
It is true that the domestic trading companies of these two countries only sell goods produced by their businesses. Southeast Asian countries are now gradually removing Chinese goods from their markets, with supermarket chains just selling domestic goods. If there are Chinese products, people will report suggesting these supermarkets stop supplying these items.
Chinese products are destroying local businesses. Look at Africa, which is the next market that Chinese companies are targeting.

If the local products are not able to compete with the Chinese products, then it will be very unfair to put the blame on the Chinese. For example, suppose that you have two options available for an electronic appliance. The first option is a Chinese product, which costs $100 and provides good quality. The second option we have is a local product, which costs $300. Although it costs more, the quality is very low. Are you suggesting that we should purchase the overpriced / low-quality item?
3608  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA WILL CUT HOLDINGS OF U.S TREAS FROM CURRENT ABOVE $1T TO ABOUT $800B on: September 04, 2020, 10:32:26 AM
Interest rate yield for the United States treasury bond has gone well below the inflation levels for USD. So holding these bonds can actually result in a net loss for the investor. Gold has proved to be a much better alternative, and it's price has increased by more than 60% since the last three years. The central banks of China and Russia have shifted more to bullion these days.
3609  Economy / Economics / Re: Which currency will dominate the crypto market? Please vote! on: September 04, 2020, 10:22:51 AM
I choses Eth over bitcoin in the poll survey. My opinion is that bitcoin time is done and  I think it is the eth that shoulf be the next in the limelight. This is my prediction but I know that it will be a hard to think that ETH will really be going to dominate. But who knows? it will going to happen? Anyway, bitcoin is the most probable answer to this poll which surely has sought the highest vote in the poll. But I am an eth lover sine from the start I join in cryptocurrency until today.

I like your optimism about Ethereum, but facts on ground doesn't support your arguments. ETH had its first token sale more than 6 years ago, in 2014. It came very close to overtaking Bitcoin (in terms of market capitalization) in 2017, but after that everything went downhill for Ethereum. Overhyped events, such as the ICO/IEO boom, ETH 2.0 and DeFi may be able to give it temporary spikes. But IMO, ETH is gradually sliding towards oblivion. We have far better alternatives available now.
3610  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the strangest Fiat currency you have seen? on: September 04, 2020, 06:52:24 AM
The strongest currency as of now is going to be either the Swiss Franc (CHF) or the Japanese Yen (JPY). These are the currencies which have witnessed the least decrease in purchasing power, during the last few decades. To add to this, the inflation rate in both these countries are near zero. I would have mentioned some of the fiat currencies from the GCC nation as well, but they are not doing that well since 2014.
3611  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID19 VACCINE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH? on: September 04, 2020, 06:45:26 AM
We are all worried about the situation during pandemic because everthing is now limited and we cannot really easily go to work everyone is afraid, but i believe that the pandemic will soon end because the vaccine is almost there and i think economy will rise again. All we need to do is to wait for the vaccine and live a normal life without fear.

Nope. Vaccine is not "almost there". Not even the third phase trials have been completed for vaccines from AstraZeneca and Moderna. It may take at least 6-7 months for these vaccines to appear at the market and even more time to make them available for any mass-immunization programs. Then you have the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia which is already available from the market. But the WHO hasn't given approval for this vaccine.

Umm.. a REPUBLICAN let panel confirmed this.   https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/18/us/politics/senate-intelligence-russian-interference-report.html

if your own party has confirmed this, how can you argue?   this isn't the dems, this isn't the liberal media.  It's your own GOP senators.    so it's not propaganda.  It's fact.

Russians leaked some emails which proved that the Democrat primaries were rigged in favor of Hillary Clinton. Now you are blaming the whistle-blower instead of the people who rigged the polls. What sort of logic is that? And do you still believe that Hillary lost as a result of the so called "Russian intervention"? If that is the case, then I pity on you.

@JSRAW I had to study the Ranji three tier system to get a better understanding of what you’ll want, and after reading about it I have to agree that it can definitely be implemented by the ICC. However I don’t expect this to be implemented anytime soon, because currently ICC isn’t concerned about Test cricket. Lastly as fans of this game we can only hope, that at some stage ICC will seriously work on reviving Test cricket.

With every passing year, the number of fans who prefer the longer format goes down. T10/T20/ODI are far more popular nowadays and only a few die-hard traditionalists favor the test matches. Another factor that is having an impact on the popularity is the increasing gap between the big 3 teams and the rest. In the shorter format, the weaker teams still have a chance. But in the longer format, the matches are increasingly becoming one-sided.

Waiting for IPL 2020 as well, just another 15 days to go to be played in UAE. We're passing very crucial time, but changing is on the process like CPL matches are airing with very success rate. I'm super excited as IPL 2020 schedule were released.

For this edition, record viewership may be there. But it can have an impact on IPL 2021, which is scheduled for just 4 months after the end of IPL 2020. There is going to be audience fatigue, and the TV viewership may get impacted. I am of the opinion that the ICC could have conducted the T20 World Cup this year, rather than allowing the IPL to proceed.
3615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: September 03, 2020, 05:28:12 PM
Okay it seems our view points are radically different on this issue. In existing system i don't mind less teams in Ranji but if we want to mine the raw talent then am in favor of more teams in domestic condition apply, already tried to touch the subject in my previous reply to Sithara007.

I am also in favor of the current setup. Ranji Trophy is divided into three tiers, so the quality is maintained. Out of the 38 teams, 18 are placed in the top tier and another 10 are placed in the middle tier. A total of 10 teams (such as Mizoram and Sikkim) make up the Plate Group, which is the third tier. You may not witness matches such as Mumbai vs Manipur or Karnataka vs Nagaland very often.

Some challenges in front of BCCI and IPL

-Players pulling out their name, after Raina, Malinga new name is Kane Richardson, he and his wife expecting a baby.
-Elite ICC umpires are not very keen to join the league. Dharmasena already said NO....

Reminds me of the Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan in 2019. Back then a lot of the regular players pulled out, due to security issues. The SLCB was forced to send a second string side to Pakistan, but to their surprise the team performed rather well. Some of the players, such as Dhananjaya de Silva, Kasun Rajitha, Lasith Embuldeniya.etc went on to become regulars in the squad. The same can happen with the IPL. Absence of regular players means additional chances for the younger players.
3617  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: September 03, 2020, 12:12:39 PM
Yes, I agree that China is the biggest winner. Just adding to what is alreadt said, not all of their provinces were locked down completely in the comparison to Europian countries where the citizens and businesses had to stop for 1.5 months!

Really?

Have you checked the market cap of the American corporations recently?

On April 1st, the market capitalization of Apple Inc was measured at $1.03 trillion. The current figure is $2.25 trillion, which represents an increase of 118%. Do you want to say that Apple is a Chinese company?

Similarly, Microsoft went from $1.15 trillion to $1.75 trillion during the same period (+52%). Google increased by 56% (from $0.75 trillion to $1.17 trillion). Amazon outperformed all of them, by going up by 85% ($0.96 trillion to $1.77 trillion). Facebook is yet to reach the trillion level, but it also went up by 90% ($454 billion to $862 billion). American investors are awash with money. And you are claiming that the Chinese are winning?
3618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: September 03, 2020, 12:02:03 PM
I have no words.   Unless Russia interferes again (it's been proven) I don't see how trump can win.    Either way,  I'm sad for this country.   I can't deal with another 4 years from Trump.   I'm not stoked about Biden either.   There is a ton of civil unrest and I don't think a lot of people realize how close we are to civil war.   And I'm not an alarmist, i promise.  Smiley

Don't give stupid excuses. If Russia is able to intervene during the presidential election process in the United States, then it would mean that the entire process is a joke. It looks as if the Democrat supporters, even after 4 years don't want to admit that they lost in 2016 because of wrong candidate selection. Sanders won the primaries, but the Democrat establishment rigged it and gave nomination to Hillary. As a result, most of the Sanders supporters refrained from voting, and this enabled Trump to win.

This is what happened in 2016. Don't repeat the stupid story of Russian intervention. And for me, it seems like the Democrats are already looking for excuses in case they lose in 2020 as well.
3619  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: September 03, 2020, 10:47:22 AM
At the moment economy looks better than a few of months ago, I don't know if it could be for long time because some economy experts say that in october there will be another crash of the markets and with it a new lockdown

At least in my country that is not the case. Those who lost their jobs a few months back are yet to find new jobs. And most of the establishments remain open, because people don't want to go out. Even those who want to get out and do shopping don't have the means to do so, because a lot of people are surviving on their savings. It may take many years for the economy to get back to shape.
Economy will slowly recover if the virus is totally gone because businesses can normally operate again and workers can return back to their work. The question is when this virus going to end, this whole year is very hard for us especially to those unfortunate people who cant afford to feed themselves without work due to lack of savings.

The virus will end only if an effective vaccine is found. Unfortunately, vaccine developers in US/UK are saying that their vaccines won't be available in the market until the first half of next year. Russia and China have developed vaccines and they have made them available to the citizens. But the WHO hasn't approved these vaccines and have issued warnings against their usage.
