3621  Other / Meta / Re: Questions to theymos about the $350,000 forum software project on: February 09, 2014, 04:18:55 PM
WHY DOESNT THE FORUM HAVE A TIPPING BOT OF SOME SORT?

Because it doesn't need a tipping function inside the forum itself. It's rather easy to copy and paste a Bitcoin address, adding a built in tipping function is one more thing which can go wrong, and at this moment in time to forum doesn't need anything else to go wrong. If you want to tip people look at their profile, signature or contact them about it I'm sure they won't say no.

Also, I would appreciate it if you didn't use such annoying text and edit your previous post instead of replying to get your post count up.

It was just to get the question noticed. Thanks for the reply though.

3623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox SCAM? $38million disappeared. Large sums affected. on: February 09, 2014, 04:16:09 PM
I think if this is the case and the banks and the governments are tying up their bank accounts it would be in the best of interest of MtGox to explain themselves as things could turn around more in their favor, instead of giving people their bullshit.

One of the biggest problems which Mt. Gox has, in addition to technical incompetence, is a lack of transparency about what is going on.

Several exchanges have this problem which prevents the adoption of bitcoins globally.

Satoshi Nakamoto

Quote
Satoshi is a male, Japanese name, whose meaning is variously given as "wise", "clear-thinking", "quick-witted"[7][8] or "intelligent history", i.e. a person with intelligent ancestors.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satoshi_Nakamoto

Adam Weishaupt
Quote
Adam means "the first man", "Weis" means "to know" and "haupt" means "leader", which makes Adam Weishaupts name mean "the first man to lead those who know".

Yes, looks like it was. There should have been more coverage on the software when it was released. Undecided
3626  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox's DEATH - Bitcoin headed towards darkness? on: February 09, 2014, 04:11:12 PM
I would mind a big crash myself either, would buy up as much as I can.

dont forget, mtGox is just a "bank" and we are only experiencing a "bank robbery" it is not the end of bitcoin, far from it!

But its a bankrobbery that resulted in MANY MANY MANY bitcoins untouchable..

3628  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is a mining rig a fire risk on: February 09, 2014, 04:08:41 PM
If you have a newer house (built in last 20 years or so) I wouldn't worry. Don't be cheap on cables, buy good ones and have a good cooling, that is what you can do to reduce the risk.

Good cooling is key and place it in a garage, or something else not flammable.

What kind of software are talking about here, since $350k is a lot of money. I mean you assumed we all know what you are talking about.

Not too sure, probably security systems and additional features.
3632  Other / Meta / Re: PLEASE DELETE MY ACCOUNT on: February 09, 2014, 04:04:42 PM
I am honestly not interested.

I just want this name (John4782) to NOT exist here anymore.

What is that such an issue? I've only posted once or so.

Just sell me your account as the guy above you said!
3633  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.8BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: February 09, 2014, 04:02:07 PM
Hey where is the breakdown of the monthly post counts and payment amounts? I thought it was in the OP, but i dont see it anymore
It was changed to a simple 0.0002BTC per post. Smiley

That requires a lot of posts. Has anyone ever gotten the 0.8 in one month? You would have to be posting all day long for the whole month

The 0.8 max was upped for this term. Previous max payout was 0.4 for 1200 posts I think, and a few people achieved that.

You are on track dude, I think you are going to hit that thereshold! All the best.

I'm really not and I wont. I'd currently need to do 241 posts a day to get the max right now and I'm not even doing half of that on a good day. I was on track up until about a week ago though.

You are already doing crazy amounts of posts.
Almost on the top page of highest posters on the forum and ur here for like 3 months.

Amazing! Do you just have ALOT of spare time or is this your 'job'?
I sure he is doing this job because too much posts from him and its possible just in full time job

I doubt anyone could do 4000 posts AND have a fulltime job. I could be wrong.
3634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why Doesnt Satoshi Continue Replying on the Forum? on: February 09, 2014, 03:57:08 PM
Why did Satoshi disappear completely? He could have stayed on the forums and could reply to our questions on bitcoin.

He should just return. Please. Thank you.

3636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stolen Coins Right After Getting Vanity Address on: February 09, 2014, 03:49:30 PM
Use the QT. Quit relying on others to provide security for you.

Then you have to be VERY careful about your programs etc. Just use blockchain.info's wallet service.
3637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the maximum amount of bitcoins you ever holded? on: February 09, 2014, 03:47:54 PM
I had around 800 once.

once

Damn, but you lost them? Or gambled them away?

Bought $10k worth at $17/BTC in June 2011 before the slow decline. I did some buying and selling to get it up to 800 as the price fell below $10/BTC.

Then it kept falling, my goal was 1000 BTC. So I put it all on Bitcoinica, where I could short the price. My biggest short was when it was at $4/BTC and falling, I was ready to stop the short at $3.50 but it fell to $3.60 then climbed over $4.50 squeezing me out. I lost about 300 BTC on that one short.

It seemed sketchy that each of my big shorts was squeezed out just before I could make money so I pulled my 400 BTC out of Bitcoinica. A week later they were "hacked".

I needed money for a downpayment on a house from every money source I could come up with in 2012 and sold it all at $11/BTC.

What a story, I wish I had gotten in bitcoin back then Sad
3638  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your confidence in Dogecoin? on: February 09, 2014, 01:50:55 PM
I like dogecoin and think its about to go Way up

yes..

I see potential in it, it could be the tipping form on some meme sites, like memecenter.com, 9gag and other shizzles Cheesy

Maybe, but too many people see it to make profit. Its all about the community guys, cmon!
