3621  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking to buy Silver Bullion for BTC on: September 12, 2012, 06:52:23 PM
Let me know if you find a good source for 1 gram coins/bars, 99% of the ones i've seen have a very high premium attached to them. 50% seems the norm for 1 gram unless its shot or junk silver.

Alright, I'll let you know. I have one idea, but I'm not quite entirely sure how well it would go over. I'll do some research into it before I announce any plan to do it. I've got no problem using shot, as long as its in a sealed bag from a reputable company like APMEX when I get it.
3622  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking to buy Silver Bullion for BTC on: September 12, 2012, 06:39:23 PM

You might want to check out https://glbse.com/asset/view/METAL.SILVER and benefit from this fund's experience.

Yes, actually, those assets are what gave me the idea to start a similar version for Litecoins. I have fairly similar terms, except I will make sure to maintain some form of small 1 gram increments in case someone, for whatever reason, feels the urge to withdraw 1 gram increments. My basic goal in doing this was to put as few restrictions as possible. You are free to do what you want, when you want with your shares. If someone wants to pay 200% spot value for your shares, so be it, if you want to spend 5 grams worth of silver to have 1 gram shipped to your door, so be it (although I make sure I mention I don't recommend it)

What Litecoin has that better suits it for a Silver bond is, Silver, although considered a fairly safe investment, does not grow 33% per week, like we have seen Bitcoin do before. Sometimes, you are better off just holding your bitcoins and waiting for a favorable moment to sell, rather than wrap them up in a commodity that may or may not increase in value as quick as BTC itself. Over the last month, Litecoins have been between $.035-$.04 fairly steady. What Litecoin needs right now is something to upset the stable price, hopefully for the better.

Just a question are you looking just Bullion like american eagle etc?
Or are you looking for any silver coins 90% ,40%,30% etc?

Bullion like eagles works, .999 Fine silver bars, shot, or generic rounds also work. I'm not looking for anything besides .999 fine silver.

3625  Economy / Goods / Looking to buy Silver Bullion for BTC on: September 12, 2012, 04:22:25 PM
Hey guys, because of the Litecoin Silver Mutual Fund Asset that I am setting up, I'm looking to buy some silver.

https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security?s=LTC-SILVER
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=108485.0

For now, I'm just looking for a few ounces, until I have a big enough bankroll from outside methods where I can start buying larger amounts.

I've contacted a few of the regular silver sellers on this forum to get quotes, but I will open this up to the general forum users that want to get some BTC (or LTC if you want) for Silver bullion. That being said, at this point I'm looking for 1/2 Oz, 1 Oz, and maybe a 2 Oz bullion or something along those lines, but I will be interested in 5 or 10 Oz bullion down the line.

I will test all Silver bullion in a non destructive way, so please do not waste both of our time sending me junk. If you feel so inclined to send me fake silver, I will be happy to ship it back to you, assuming you pay return shipping costs.

Thanks for reading, and your PMs.

3626  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer - HashKing on: September 12, 2012, 02:16:32 AM
Under the wikipedia topic of Insurance in general, theres a few interesting things that may apply to this case. I haven't really followed this, as I haven't invested in anyone, but I know the jist. Feel free to read through the link, but heres a few things that caught my attention.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurance

"Utmost good faith – the insured and the insurer are bound by a good faith bond of honesty and fairness. Material facts must be disclosed."
if the fact that he was investing in Pirate was not disclosed, that goes against that aspect.

"Insurance scholars have typically used morale hazard to refer to the increased loss due to unintentional carelessness and moral hazard to refer to increased risk due to intentional carelessness or indifference. Insurers attempt to address carelessness through inspections, policy provisions requiring certain types of maintenance, and possible discounts for loss mitigation efforts."

"The policyholder may hire their own public adjuster to negotiate the settlement with the insurance company on their behalf."

Very Interesting here - "Business interruption insurance covers the loss of income, and the expenses incurred, after a covered peril interrupts normal business operations."

What I did learn here though is, just by saying that the asset is insured, that by default gives it EVERY type of possible insurance (including those odd ones such as kidnap insurance, nuclear insurance, etc) as long as they are related to the business model HK had. So if you owe someone money, that you have tied up in your HK account, and you are kidnapped because of this, HK is liable for this as well, and by law are required to pay for any damages that may result. But either way, look into it yourselves, very interesting concepts.

Then again, how you would get this enforced is above me, but I'm just providing a bit of insight that you can interpret any way you like.
3627  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: Remove Marketplace subforum on: September 12, 2012, 01:55:18 AM
Get rid of Marketplace subforum, watch Bitcoin prices drop down to $3.

95% of BTC business goes through the forum, if you just wipe all of that out, Bitcoins are now pretty close to worthless. We spent all of this time trying to get Bitcoins accepted by people, and by erasing the market, well... you erase the market.
3628  Other / Meta / Re: Atlas and a public plea on: September 12, 2012, 01:51:31 AM
Is it just me, or does anyone else actually enjoy atlas? I'm actually quite fond of him, although he may start 50 threads per day, he doesn't start stupid god damn threads about Pirate, or MNW, and he gives all of us something to chuckle about. Look at how many Atlas references and jokes have been used over the last year; they have kept us entertained. I say, he is one of those things that defines what Bitcoins are. And I'd much rather have Bitcoin defined by Atlas than never ending scams, extortion, and overall assholery.
3629  Economy / Goods / Re: [SALE] Gold for sale - NEW INVENTORY on: September 12, 2012, 12:31:12 AM
Can we get some IP records? I am out 596 coins

You are out 596 coins as in you placed and order and Heavy Metal hasn't delivered? Or you ordered recently and they haven't arrived yet? What I'm asking is, is there any legitimacy to the claim?
3630  Other / Meta / Re: Someone has stolen my account! on: September 11, 2012, 09:47:00 PM
But hasn't the fake Heavy Metal been still selling actual gold and silver with good feedback?

So the person stole your account, and then has continued to keep your reputation in tact?

I'm not saying you are lying, I'm just a bit confused.
3631  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BurtW [SCAMMER TAG] on: September 11, 2012, 08:06:32 PM
Up until a few weeks ago, I would have vouched for Pirate, I bought a few hundred BTC from him with MoneyPak on BTC-OTC in the last few years, does this make me eligible for a scammer tag too?
3632  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BurtW [SCAMMER TAG] on: September 11, 2012, 06:37:45 PM
I don't think you can really issue a scammer tag for that. Up until recently hundreds of BTC Talk users would have vouched for Pirate, do you want to give them all scammer tags too? The guy is free to have his opinions.
3633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Asset on LTC-Global needs your opinion! on: September 11, 2012, 04:20:59 PM
Not much activity on this section huh?

Also, can I list this on the Assets section? Or do they have to be BTC Assets?
3634  Economy / Speculation / Re: iPhone 5: Will People Cash Out on Bitcoins? on: September 11, 2012, 01:36:10 AM
ACTUALLY! The Iphone 5 more than likely will not be coming out. In case you guys hadn't heard, a while ago the Iphone 5 Specs got leaked, and a Chinese Knockoff company named GooPhone took the Iphone 5 design and Specs, built it, and then patented it.

Introducing the Goophone i5 http://android-sale.com/goophone-i5.html

Its actually quite cheap, ($275-$300) and runs Android

Specs? Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.4GHz processor, 1GB RAM, an 8-megapixel camera as well as a 4-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.

perhaps even funnier is, Goophone made an official statement to apple, saying if they release the Iphone 5, goophone will sue them

Its also used in jewelry made of white gold.

On the other hand, I do know the seller.
3636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it wrong to use government services if you pay tax? on: September 11, 2012, 12:45:40 AM

I didnt say you would get shit back just that I can understand why people would use the option if the service exists.
I didn't say you did.

I think its more likely they have ripped off someone in the russian mob and justice will be served either way.

I think it's more likely that the Russian mob is busier making a LOT more fiat money selling prostitutes, drugs, weapons, vehicles, smuggling, and doing, you know, organized crime shit, than worrying about Bitcoin.

Unless you point to me where I can buy caviar, fur coats, a BMW, and a mail order bride with Bitcoin instead of cold hard anonymous cash.

I'm not sure about the caviar, but I've seen BMWs and Fur Coats for sale.

looking for the coat and caviar now.
3637  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lost all of my bitcoins on bitZino and it provably sucks on: September 11, 2012, 12:41:59 AM
Thats how gambling goes I guess, but either way, I have to give you props for honestly admitting that the site was overall enjoyable, even though you lost your money. Instead of acting all offended that you lost your money on a gambling site, and ranting that its the worst site of all time, and warning others not to go there.

3638  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Matthew Neal Wright: You have been reported to the SEC and Korean authorities. on: September 11, 2012, 12:25:51 AM
Best case scenario, they just toss out your claim, and roll their eyes.

Worst case scenario, they humor you, and start imposing gambling regulations on BTC.

In your opinion its a lose lose, in mine, its a I don't care lose.

i vote 999 ONLY. Less math involved to calculate prices.

Thanks for the feedback, your opinion has been counted. I'd still like to hear everyone else's feedback too.
