I think trading is less like gambling because there is a lot more strategy and potential for knowledge to actually be applied in the stock market, as opposed to gambling which is typically based on random chance.
I think trading called as gambling or not it is depend on how we play it , if trading played based on your experience /knowledge mean not random trade it is not gamble. But if you trade randomly choosing up down up down without considering several matters which can affected to price movement , I think it is called gambling. these pump and dump altcoins ruin it for the whole trading :/ every new user that tries trading for the first time falls for these things. they spread false information and pump the said altcoin and those newbies that buy on top are left with their bags in their hands and nowhere to sell the coin hence calling it chance (gambling).

BTC/USD seems to be stabilised at around $420-$430.
Thoughts and predictions where it's going to next?
next month 500$ because this month up to 460$ I also believe the same “next month $500” , as in the previous it reached from $380 to $440 within only one week so there is still 14 days in the next month and hope it cross $500 in the next month. if the past is any indication then $500 is possible to happen but i think it is not going to happen in the next month unless something happens. something like ETH dump or some kind of news about bitcoin itself (consensus maybe!)

the real anonymity will be reached only if you exchange bitcoin with cash (physically change it hand to hand) any other way will require you to give some kind of information even if it is a PayPal account (or anything similar) will link your identity to bitcoin ..... OP, did you check btc-e.com out in the meantime? I doubt that they lately added verification.
they still don't

i am also an Amateur altcoin trader, i think you should not look too much into any change lower than 1% in altcoin market.
all the change percentages in the picture are 0.6-0.01% which is not really a big deal a market that is being pumped 10x and dumped the same amount down.
but also i think the reason for this downtrend is because all the investments are moving back to bitcoin for the halving big rise.

all of these altcoins are trying to take a place in the world of crypto currency that is why they make such unreal claims even if they gain the place temporary due to that, it is enough for a small pump and temporary profit.

I really think that parent should go at it slowly. Give 100 USD in bitcoin, then 200 USD... and see what the teenager is doing with it. If he spends it right away... well the parent can decide to stop payments. If he tries to invest then see if he chose wisely. If he trades and lose it all then he only lost 10% of the 1000 USD.
it depends on the person and the age you are calling "teen". for example i am comparing it with myself back when i "came of age" ~18 if i was given $1000 i would never waste it. i knew how to invest it and make more out of it by then. p.s i already had around $1000 in my bank account by then ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

i spend my bitcoins from time to time but not actively, as much as i spend fiat. because there is not enough places to spend bitcoin and also the price is possible to go up and i don't want to miss out.
so i spend some from time to time to buy some small stuff online whenever there is a chance.

predicting ten years into the future is not an easy task, especially predicting bitcoin's future which is not clear in 1 year.
but i am sure that if some of the current problems like the block size debate and some possible future problems gets solved fast, then bitcoin can easily be used by majority of people all around the world.

holding bitcoins, but is anyone holding on another other coins like ether or factom? the real question is for how long?
when everyone screams Sell, it's a great time to buy. So buy and hold the bitcoins for somelong. buy bitcoins and put it into coldstorage and stay away from gambling , hyip or any investment , it will be worth for next years Yes indeed. It has now indeed a good time to invest. Because you can make some more money later if you now buy it at a low price. So that will be good. But that is also risky because you can also lose some money if the value will be going down. It's very simple. You don't lose anything if you don't sell. If you sell in panic, then yes, you'll constantly lose money. Better yet just hold it as much as possible and dont let your guard down when theres news about the price decrease. A lot of the "traders" here are too weak and they forget all the advice that they have received once their brain goes into panic mode. Some people never change. ![Lips sealed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/lipsrsealed.gif) this is sad but true. there is a lot of panic traders in bitcoin market who sell on a small FUD. i think it is best we take advantage of this situation and buy when they sell, it is their own loss.

thats definitely not a good thing for bitcoin as in this way less people will use it what means there will be less adoption and the price will be lower
i hope this bitcoin ban will be removed and people will be given a chance to use bitcoins freely as any other real currency
I also hope that the ban is removed. All those people will pretty much have their Bitcoin rendered useless. The Russians really need to do something about this. what?!!! how does that make their bitcoin useless? it is bitcoin and still have value against any currency (dollar, euro,...) even if the news is not FUD, they can easily exchange bitcoin to USD for example and change USD to their fiat

This seems like a move to give a final pump to ethereum. No one is there to impede it from falling back to normal levels now.
Doubt it. I suspect it was a PR move - people like me didn't even know they accepted it in the first place, now I know. maybe it is because you don't check social media as much as the rest of us. i read here and reddit/r/bitcoin, cryptocurrency,.... and i though the same as Blind Legs Parker, even if it wasn't a plot to pump, the pumpers used (and still using) it to pump ETH

why would he run? just going to dump the coins and kill the price slowly. with this big market cap it is an easy task to complete. worst case scenario is declaring bankruptcy!

People who have much thirst to make money on halving only will expect such a price. Other users know the reality of the developing technology.
those days are long gone, and whoever is waiting for $100 is wasting their time because we will never see those happy days ever again. from now on it is only growing price on the way with little dips.

after microsoft stop to accept bitcoin, any chance microsoft will accept etherum..? and etherum will be 1st cryptocurrency..?
the microsoft news about not accepting bitcoin was very interesting to me and the fact that it is still being used despite the fact that it became clear they are still accepting it proves to me how ETH price reached this far.

The most of us do not think this will happen, and neither do I because I think its just too much for the bitcoin. The fact that the bitcoin never even hit the 2000 makes it already impossible and the future is good but not so good, its unrealistic.
i agree with you about the 10,000 dollars being impossible but the $2000 is both possible and easy to reach. bitcoin is not even at half of its potential. there is a lot of room to grow and conquer the world. all those money that is going to invest in bitcoin will push it to 2000 in a couple of years easily

i think a big part of it is because market is full of newbies (or weak hands) they do everything without any logic and only based on panic.

i prefer using bittrex out of all the exchangers out there. it has been always fast and up for me and the daily volume is high enough for trading.
besides they don't ask for personal information to trade.

... Thank you, I did it. However, I can't see how can it be possible that poloniex.com works and www.poloniex.com doesn't. polonex.com and poloniex.com are two different things, if you are logged in poloniex.com you are not logged in on www.poloniex.com, basically the verification emails that are from poloniex are with "www" before. But this has nothing to do with DNS, as far as I know. comment #4 by you, you said "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" this is problem with DNS and since you said you could access it in IE and not in Chrome you should flush chrome's dns log not windows (google it how) chrome://net-internals/#dns
