3641  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 05, 2015, 06:33:47 PM
When Bitcoin price goes above $1000 then I think I would quit my part time job and go full time on Bitcoin. I imagine the future as working from the comfort of my home and getting paid in BTC. It would be wonderful. By that time, Bitcoin would have become mainstream. But again, it's just my imagination.  Roll Eyes
will be useless even if the high bitcoin prices is $ 1,000 but your income a little from bitcoin haha

why would it useless?

those who hold it would of have free capital to start a business or increase their chances to a venture to get chance to create something without the stress.

That would be the case only for long term holders, but Abiky's comment sounds like as if magically the wages would raise because he is getting paid in BTC that's 1K each BTC. Most likely the wages will be variable and edged against dollar or other fiat value, so you'll still get a low wage each month paid in BTC if you already had a low wage in fiat.
3642  Economy / Economics / Re: It's happening: Puerto Rico just defaulted for the first time on: August 05, 2015, 06:30:46 PM
Just wait and watch, there will be more members coming to defaulters list.

which will be translated in more opportunity to embrace and increase bitcoin price, hopefully at least oen of those will turn the light off on fiat if not we can get at least a good hype that might make bitcoin stronger

Despite how unrealistic it seems for a country to really adopt bitcoin, if it happens then it would be really mind blowing. All the people who have owned a bitcoin will be instantly rich, richer than what they were for sure. I am sometimes surprised how the world is so slow to adopt crypto, as a kid I always imagined that digital money could conquer the world.
People don't understand the value of Bitcoin because the price moves around so much. I suspect as more people adopt, states will begin to use it as their official currency.

It's not only because of the volatility, they just don't understand the technology, the context of the technology an what does it mean to world economy, the possibilities... if they did, they would understand the volatility in the first place and they would be buying like crazy as we speak, but naturally the pioneers are a reduced group and that's us.
3643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks were supposed to be frightened of Bitcoin on: August 05, 2015, 06:28:18 PM
If banks really adopt blockchain technology in their system, their customers (non bitcoin user) would think that the technology is really helpful for them. Well actually I'm not really sure if the blockchain technology can working for bank or not, but seems it will attract people and they will think that bitcoin adopt blockchain from banks, since they have no idea about bitcoin before.

Yes the technology can work in a centralized way where only banks have a say on what goes there and who sees the ledger, but once people realize using the real thing (Bitcoin) is better, they will disregard those "bank blockchains" and use the global Bitcoin blockchain which is infinite times more secure.
3644  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: August 05, 2015, 06:26:00 PM
I remember this girl that started a business doing clothes and selling them off the internet instantly thanks to bitcoin, it's in a documentary where there is also varoufakis being interviewed, i cant find the link unfortunately.
3645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become the best technology ? on: August 05, 2015, 06:24:31 PM
By doing some minor tweaks in Bitcoin network, it will become the best technology ever mankind has ever seen.
Don't be so overly optimistic. Blockchain is great, there is no doubt about it. But it is not the greatest technology. It would not be possible without internet and many other previous discoveries in the first place.
It is great that people are started to notice significance of blockchain:
Blythe Masters on the Significance of Blockchains in Financial Industries at Singularity University's Exponential Finance 2015.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ6WR2R1MnM

Everything is a result of a previous invention. You could say the internet is not that great, because without cables and electricity it could have never been possible... ad infinitum.
3646  Economy / Speculation / Re: 280->400->350->600, New ATH late 2016 on: August 05, 2015, 12:12:51 AM
Here's what will happen: We'll get past 1K, at about 1.5 people will get nervous and start selling, create a small dump, then we'll go back up to 2.5, the people that already sold will become depressed, 2.5K holders will sell, the other guys waiting will get in, we will go to 3, another correction, 2.5K selles depressed.... etc etc all the way up to 10K, with another correction, more depressed people after we go 12... repeat for 15K, 17K, 20K, 27K, 45K, 67, 86K, 91K, 120K, 210K, 300K, 500K, 1MM...  a lot of millonaires and suicides will happen along the way, unfortunately.

in decades BTC all time graph will look like this:

(current for BRK-A is 215K btw)

3647  Economy / Speculation / Re: The inevitable is upon us... on: August 05, 2015, 12:00:02 AM
Mainly because unlike every other currency on the planet bitcoin is scarce.

Thousands of altcoiners would beg to differ.

Hundreds of altcoiners would, sure, and quite legitimately too.

True, instead of using currency I should have specified fiat currency.

There can be only one, network effect, first mover advantage etc etc
Yep. If you think a million altcoins existing somehow make Bitcoin less scarce you are failing to understand what makes Bitcoin valuable. Cant blame a newbie on that one tho.
3648  Economy / Speculation / Re: You all know it's going to crash? on: August 04, 2015, 11:56:44 PM
More dumping than pumping, currently. It's been a fake recovery or a looooooooooong dead cat bounce.

I love it when the price just keeps dead cat bouncing with these higher highs! Fake riches in my wallet!

Where do you see these higher highs, lately? We can't seem to break past 300 and stay there.

We've gone from low 200 territory to near 300 territory and holding there. You will never recognize progress and wait for corrections to scream its crashing.
3649  Economy / Speculation / How will you celebrate when we surpass Berkshite Hathaway Class A shares? on: August 04, 2015, 11:26:10 PM
It's clear we are headed towards ethernal glory. We'll kill Western Union, then Paypal, then Mastercard, then Visa, and beyond. We will engulf all those deprecated scammers charging insane amounts in fees with their inferior technologies. We'll march towards a trillion dollar marketcap.

Once all near all BTCs are finally spread all over the world by about 2035, do you think we'll be way past BRK-A to become the most valued asset in the history of mankind?

I think so. And Warren Buffet's family will be rendered the biggest idiots ever by ignoring Bitcoin along the way. Hold and enjoy the ride.
3650  Economy / Economics / Re: Price stability on: August 04, 2015, 11:22:24 PM
I think real stability (where the price of bitcoin does not fluctuate more than a percentage point or 2 per year) is still years away. Bitcoin cannot stabilise and grow rapidly at the same time that's a contradiction in terms.

that kind of stability is not years away, but light years away. people will use bitcoin more and more to pay for things. most of these coins get sold nearly instantly. there is and will always be pressure on the price.
I think light years is far fetched. We may start seeing a solid price at about 2030 when we surpass Berkshite Hathaway Class A share and 1 BTC becomes the most expensive share to own ever in the history of mankind with a marketcap of hundred of billions marching to the trillions as we engulf former dinosaurs such as Mastercard, Visa and Paypal.

3651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin CEO arrested and Blockchain hacked on: August 04, 2015, 11:16:07 PM
The mainstream media has so much to talk about bitcoin this week Wink

Who the hell is the Bitcoin CEO and what blockchain in particular? Blockchain.info or the block chain ledger?

I think OP was just trying to be ironic... Grin

Well, he has 307 activity on a Sr Member account, I would hope that he doesn't think Bitcoin has an actual CEO at this point. I think some people here still think Satoshi is the CEO of Bitcoin or something along the lines.
3652  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 10k when? on: August 04, 2015, 11:15:02 PM
Nasdaq is already dead.

because of the lack of trust in the stats.

Bitcoin is pure stats. system ... people and traders will like this when time come (trusted value = fondamental restored).

you are both dumb and delusional if you dont believe that bitcoin needs the legacy financial system to succeed.
Wrong, the Nasdaq needs Bitcoin to succeed. Nasdaq tranactions will all be run over the blockchain or over a sidechain in the next decade. All other options are objectively stupid and deprecated by Bitcoin's superior technology. All banks are old versions of what Bitcoin can do. Theres no turning back.
3653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA KNOWS on: August 04, 2015, 10:54:16 PM
No one said it's fully anonymous.
You can push your tx'es anonymously without relaying your IP info. (of course you need cold storage, offline wallet etc).

Yup, but you cannot interact with exchanges because exchanges will know your credentials. Like some said even if you meet irl to exchange btc for cash it's not really anonymous, the guy sees your face
3654  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: August 04, 2015, 10:28:52 PM
Is there a step by step tutorial that describes in depth every feature of BTC hopefully in Youtube? im trying to understand how all the features work but I can't find a full tutorial, I understand things better if im looking and hearing them rather than reading a ton of text.
Since its an HD wallet, does this mean that everytime I send a transaction I generate a new address and this supposedly improves privacy because they cant see a transaction history in the blockchain? i just don't get how this works, i have only used bitcoin core.
3655  Economy / Services / Re: Coinomat.com - Signature Campaign! [STARTED] on: August 04, 2015, 02:56:16 AM
Where is my payment? i have 10 posts made on 03 august but 0 BTC.
3656  Economy / Speculation / Re: You all know it's going to crash? on: August 03, 2015, 05:26:42 PM
You haven't said where to send it?

Send US$1Million worth of bitcoins to:

1Fxzp1D8JrDTMAHAtRoshMyY5Ue6zuEmby

You have 24 hours.

Im confused.  You use bitcoin?  You said its a scam ponzi and is going to crash.  Wouldnt you rather have a personal check?

You are not confused, you are just retreating.
Large merchants don't use nor accept bitcoin, they accept the real money FIAT from bitpay and coinbase who sell those bitcoin to bag holders for money. The bitcoin sent to this address would be sold right away no matter the scam ponzi aka bitcoin crash at the next second or not. his personal check is protected by bitcoin & real money exchanger which will not leak to you a coward who can only talk loud but afraid to do it.

Understand?

What makes fiat money real and Bitcoin not real? Andreas Antonopoulos has been living on Bitcoin only for more than 3 years. How can a person live off money that it's not real, but still buys everything that's needed to live a good life? See how that doesn't make sense? exactly.
3657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: August 03, 2015, 05:19:09 PM
Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month.
Even if you restart today, for a month, there is little chance of going that high so fast.
Rallies can get very exciting, but it (usually) doesn't happen that quick.

Lol look at this:

https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_vnl

56% gains in 5 days. Whoever was holding VNL just a week ago is not a very happy guy. It could have been me and now I have a lot of regret. I've been burned so many times with alt that I decided to not gamble with this one and this time was the good time.. dammit.
3658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Did any of you made a killing with VNL? on: August 03, 2015, 05:17:09 PM
This coin has been pumped to mars today. I haven't seen such gains in a while. Look at this graph:

https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_vnl

I wish I invested after the first pump. I was really considering it, but on the back on my mind I told myself "you are an idiot buying into this shitcoin, it's going to start slowly decaying into nothingness after the first pump". How wrong I was. Look at that graph ffs. I wonder if someone made 3 figure BTC gains out of this.
3659  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to turn 2BTC into 4BTC on: August 03, 2015, 05:14:49 PM
Hard work is always the best way.
Each month I buy 50$ worth btc with my salary and put it in a cold storage. I think its the best way..

the original poster is talking about doubling an existing amount, not earning new bitcoin, therefore your suggestion isn't a good suggestion, if he really want to turn 2 to 4 he need somethign else like making a new altcoin and premine a % of the total supply or try the long way like mining and waiting for roi if he is lucky he can roi in few months and get 4 btc from 2btc invested

Here's how you could have done it. If you invested in VNL a week ago, now you would have more than doubled your stack, you would have around 4.5 BTC. But of course, who would have guessed this epic pump right?
3660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Athens stock market set to open Monday. on: August 03, 2015, 05:12:36 PM
It seems like it has been a total disaster as expected. I mean did anyone really expect anything but big red numbers? This weekend was the last one to get all of your greece related stocks out of there.
