What I know from me and my friends is that guys are not only looking sex. This is some kind of misconception that girls have about guys. Sure it is important in a relationship, but saying that it is all that guys want is just wrong. Having a home, someone to talk to and share your life is at least as important.
3642  Economy / Economics / Re: How the rich get richer and why it works on: April 06, 2021, 07:12:36 AM
The reason that I can think of about why these billionaires are doing what they are doing and not giving back to society is because they are greedy, I think that it is the only reason, because if they weren't greedy, they would have already created changes that a lot of people are enjoying.

Why do you think rich people should share their wealth with others and change the society? It is not 100% clear why the other person is poor. Is it because he failed at something, or is it because he is lazy, or is it because "his current status suits him" ?

I'm sure that not all rich people are greedy. They share, but some of them dont announce that on public. And it is not always money what they share. They can share also different stuff, knowledge, experience, which is far more valuable than just money.

I think there is no big difference between rich people today and rich people in the past. In the past you were usually rich if you are born or married into the Royal family. The wealth was concentrated among a few lucky families, like it is today. And its just not in humans nature go give away all your money to poor people. Somethings never change.

What a tragic story. To be honest, how can something like that happen in a developed nation like UK? Aren't there security measures in place to talk to the family before she is taken off life support. This is insane. I really hope the family is sueing the hospital hard. The doctors and nurses taking decisions into their own hands are not acceptable.
3644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lucky Winners of the Day - Random Pick on: April 06, 2021, 06:53:30 AM

How lucky is the players associated with the above images. Maybe they could've lost big in gambling, but they're lucky enough to stay on the race. If this players have got good plan and self control surely they can make a good profit investing the wins on projects that grow good in the future. Myself hasn't been this lucky, but after losing I used to think of missing the opportunity. Atleast I could've invested on some cryptocurrency for long term profiting.

Wow these are some really lucky guys. Betting $30 on an 83 Multipler is a lot in my opinion. You are right that we don't know the betting history of these fellas and it could be that it took them a while to get these nice payouts. But still theye deserve to win big, if they are willing to take these amounts of risk then the payoffs are deserved. Personally I just bet on 50/50 chances with everything more than $5. The risks of losing it all is just too much for me too handle.
3645  Economy / Economics / Re: High-Frequency Traders Eye Satellites for Ultimate Speed Boost on: April 05, 2021, 07:22:34 PM
This is taking trading to the next level, never thought a mare trading will require such advance technology to be executed, is this already applicable to crypto trading or just stock for now!
If so, would it make a significant difference using this high frequency trade as against normal trading in terms of earning more profit and less losses? Am just curious.

I do think that high frequency trading can outplay the average trader just by the speed of the execution. Having fast internet and a short connection to the exchange can make the difference in how fast your trades are getting picked up. So in times of high volatility it is more important to be among the first to sell or buy. Selling these premium satellite internet access to hedge funds is a good idea in my opinion. Companies need a revenue to provide the internet services, and selling to the highest bidder is just normal business. On the other hand selling these service enables companies to offer internet for free in areas where no other form of internet is possible.
3646  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are you thinking now? on: April 05, 2021, 07:01:53 PM
Hi friends Today I would like to know what thoughts are running at this moment in your mind. Additionally, I would like to know what to do now As for me, I think about family matters, and I'm sitting in my room alone now

Today I was thinking if I should take some profits in my stock portfolio and move all the money into crypto currencies. The bitcoin price is quite high, but so are the stock prices. It all comes down to where the more upside potential is.  It is so hard to make these long term decisions.
3647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: April 05, 2021, 06:44:12 PM
And like all the worst addictions gambling can ruin people's lives.
If it would be seen as gaming rather than gambling, meaning if it is only some killing time activity done not that ofte, it could also be great and fun. But when it turns into an addiction, then the negative black hole starts spinning.
Educating yourself about the potential threats that can come from gambling is the first step to avoid ever get caught in that supermassive black hole.
A gambler must surely be addicted to predicting several games, casinos and other gambling facilities. Therefore, there are some specific activities that helps reduce the rate at which a gambler predicts and bets. Extra curriculum endeavour can actually be a helpful factor in winning the urge to be always finding yourself into gambling. This will certainly help.

For me controlling my gambling habits is the most important part of winning and losing. I don't really believe in fate when I gamble, it is up to me to decide if I stop after a winning session of if I continue to gamble it all away again. Controlling our actions for our long term plans is key here. What I like a lot lately is the 24hrs Panic Button for casinos. If I find myself losing a bit too much, or being up a lot, I can just press the button be locked out for 24 hours. Sometimes we just need a little help to control our gambling habits better.
3648  Economy / Economics / Re: There must be more banks in the world than number of cryptocurrencies on: April 05, 2021, 06:21:28 PM

More banks = More Money

More banks can also help to keep the dollar and other currencies stable, as it is because a competition exists between banks which helps to keep the dollar or any other fiat currency stable. It will also help to keep the Bitcoin and number of other cryptocurrencies stable as in near future banks will also accept bitcoin so they would want to keep the bitcoin stable to prevent from losses. Which means that if a whale who holds thousands of bitcoins sells it to dump the market for his own benefit, may fail to disturb the market. It will also provide the security to cryptocurrency. Banks are also good for economy growth and it helps the governments to pay and collect taxes. If there will be more banks, governments would want to reduce or even remove taxes from cryptocurrencies as they can earn sufficient amount through banks to run its economy.

I don't think this is necessarily true because not every bank can print money. It is usually the role of the central bank to print money. So a traditional bank has only more money at hand if more customers are saving money at the bank. In my opinion, having more banks is only a good thing if they offer different services. Like having a special bank for crypto currencies, one for real estate, one for traditional savings, one for investment banking, etc. If all the banks would just offer the same type of services and products that it seems a bit redundant to me. There would be a lot of chances to save costs in mergers.
3649  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Argentinian president tests positive to covid-19 after being vaccinated on: April 05, 2021, 05:50:53 PM
A couple of Covid-19 vaccines have been produced and distributed already, but sentiments still abound amongst the populace as to if they should or should not be vaccinated, and with the latest development, I think those sentiments surely must have grown stronger as Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez has tested positive to Covid-19 despite having being vaccinated with the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine early on in the year.

What implications do you think will arise from this news? Will it dampen the believe of people in the efficacy of Covid-19 vaccines, and will it also strengthen the arguments of anti-vaxxers that natural immunity could actually be superior to that of vaccine immunity?

Source: https://edition.cnn.com/2021/04/04/americas/argentina-alberto-fernndez-covid-19-sputnik-vaccine-intl-latam/index.html

This is very alarming news for everybody who got the Sputnik vaccine.  I am not so familiar with the Sputnik V vaccine because it is not allowed in my country yet, but a lot of countries are already using it. Maybe the vaccine is not as useful as the companies proclaim? We are using various vaccines for month now but still don't have any studies about the effectiveness of the vaccines compared to each other. I would like to get more information from the government about the long term immunity of vaccines.
3650  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why privacy matters on: April 05, 2021, 05:23:37 PM
Privacy is not only something we use to enjoy. It is a necessity for us, and it affects: what kind of person we develop into, what kind of identity we establish without any direct or indirect influence of society, and what we want to live in Such a society.

I agree, privacy is very important for all of us. We take it for granted until we start to lose our privacy. The most important thing for me right now during home office is using a VPN, I spend a lot of time on the internet. So not exposing too much personal data is very important.
3651  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to move on on: April 05, 2021, 04:44:24 PM
I've been in my first relationship for almost 4 years now and we already have a baby who is turning 1 Yr. Old this month.
Our relationship has been cold and we were trying to fix it and I could tell that it was working well,
But I got into a fight with her GrandMother and I decided to leave the house to chill down but she suddenly decided to cut it all off.

Sorry to hear that buddy. It is hard to give someone else advice without knowing everything, but if you have a kid together I don't think you can move on from that. Fighting happens in every relationship, its all about reconciliation in my opinion. Maybe you can try and go to some counciling together? A fight with the grandmother shouldn't be about you and your girlfriend. Having a kid, is a huge bond.
3652  Other / Off-topic / Re: Happy Easter everyone! on: April 05, 2021, 06:52:03 AM
Easter is a time to meet with family and friends to celebrate new beginnings. Just keep in mind that the more time you spend looking for Easter eggs, the more calories you burn.  Cheesy

I hope you're enjoying Easter Sunday with your loved ones!

Happy Easter everybody. Unfortunately we are still in lockdown here, there won't be any family lunch or hidden Easter eggs for me. Hope everyone has a good time.
3653  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you accept to be POTUS for 24hrs?? on: April 05, 2021, 06:49:34 AM
I would do it for 24hrs. What could go wrong by doing it? Imagine waking up in the white House, or having the secret service taking care of everything you need. Sounds pretty amazing to me. But the best feature bring president would be all the information you get access to. I could finally read up on all the aliens in Area 51. And what about all the secret rooms and tunnels in the white House? There is so much history in that building.
3654  Other / Off-topic / Re: Good habits about learning on: April 05, 2021, 06:45:49 AM
A good way for me to learn something new was always to write down important things on small post it's card. You put a question on one side and the answer on the back. With so small cards you can review them in the bus or train or conveniently in bed before going to sleep. The constant repition is what helped me the most.
3655  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian vs foreign companies on: April 05, 2021, 06:42:29 AM
Quote
Russia now requires all smart devices — including phones, computers, and TVs — in the country to have Russian software preinstalled, in what some locals have called a "law against Apple".
The law applies to all devices produced in the country from Thursday onwards. Reuters reported that Russia viewed it as a way to help Russian software companies compete with international ones.
The outlet added that the law had been an issue for Apple and that it had become known as "the law against Apple."
source....

I don't know whether this is good or bad for selling smartphones or software in Russia, This is the sales of smartphones in Russia according to statista....

what is certain, that smartphone provider must adjust to this rule.  do you think this is a good step to increase Russia's competitiveness against foreign countries that we know are the US?  or this is a bad move that will slow down Russia's competitiveness!

Forcing companies to use a certain number of local products can always lead to problems. It might be easier for the government to control it, but its no guarantee for success. Companies usually choose software which works best for them, having the government now forcing the companies changes that. The software developers also might become less competitive.
3656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fine line between market investment and sports gambling on: April 04, 2021, 07:51:37 AM
They are just two different thing but very similar. investment is a means to earn from your keeping why the so called gambling doesn't but wen appropriately done and win then you will earn reward. Investment isn't gambling and gambling won't be like investment, except when the operators tend to be illegal about the two.
People who say that investing can use multiplication are wrong. only the bookie can benefit in gambling and the users when they are able to apply this will surely lose by fighting their emotions. So what is clear is that there is a fundamental difference between gambling and investing. people who are addicted to gambling find it difficult to get out of this vicious circle. because surely they think how to return their lost capital

I agree with you, but people can get addicted to gambling as well as investing. I remember my grandfather back in the day talking about his stock trading times, he lost a lot of money in one stock and every subsequent trade was just to make the money back he lost in worst trade. He couldn't sell the stock, forget it and just move on. Everytime he looked at his statements he saw the big red of his worst trade. With hindsight now I would say he was definitely addicted to trading stocks, checking the news paper every morning and talking a lot about potential trades. So while betting is against the bookmaker and if we lose, he is winning, it isn't too different from investing. Here we just gamble against a lot of other people who will profit if we lose.
3657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: April 04, 2021, 07:38:56 AM

Maybe we can use poker face in a limited time, so we do not have to feel tormented using that.
But for a pro poker player will figure out the other way to give a trick to their opponent, so the opponent will not know if they have a good card.
Using those things can help us be undetected by the opponent, but we should be aware of the rules because sometimes, the casino can use that rule.
But it is hard to be unpredictable in a poker game as we can meet the pro poker player, which is not easy to trick them.

Yeah if the tournament is being broadcasted on TV then it is very unlikely that you can fully cover your face. It will always be a tradeoff between entertainment for TV purposes and playing the best and most unpredictable poker we can do. The problem when our cards are being broadcasted is that all other players can watch the feed 30 minutes later and see if we were bluffing or not. This changes a lot for us because we aren't so unpredictable anymore. Since the pandemic a lot of more online tournaments are being broadcasted aswell, which takes away a big part of our strategy in poker to remain unpredictable.
3658  Economy / Economics / Re: Why did you buy bitcoin? on: April 04, 2021, 06:14:43 AM

3659  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I turn my spare time into money (In The USA) on: April 04, 2021, 06:11:02 AM
I got some extra spare time next week and I wouldn't mind having some extra spare funds since I don't wanna touch my crypto portfolio before it completely moons.

I've thought about dog walking. Any other ideas?

It's spring time and a lot people start working in their garden. Maybe you can offer your services to people in your neighbourhood and help them clean up their gardens. If you just walk around in your city and look for houses where the garden is not in a good shape there should be plenty of work. Especially older people will be grateful and pay money for your help.
3660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being unpredictable on: April 03, 2021, 11:12:40 AM
Playing a poker face is the basic way to act unreadable in the game poker even though you have a good card you won't show your emotions instead act as if you will lose. Just playing mind games with your opponents will make them bait your bluff. In the end if you don't want this kind hastle play online so you don't have to worry about your facial expressions.

it will not be called poker face for no reason but this term became popular because it was the basic strat use by poker players but afaik poker face is a neutral reaction , if you will act as is you loose your oponnent will think that your feeling the opposite so i dont recomend that .

A poker face is very hard to keep up for hours and hours of playing. There are quite a few people on the table who observe any expression of your face and even look at your throat how heavily you are breathing.  When playing serious for money I would recommend to wear sunglasses, a hoodie and. a scarf. This makes sure that other people can't read you that easily. Being unpredictable also helps, as long as you are playing good poker.
