2661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you lose interest to deposit and play more..., on: December 10, 2021, 12:03:01 PM
There is no such thing as perfect online casinos because of the many rules and conflicting laws on the location of their players, there will always be accusations some could be valid some because of misinterpretation of the TOS, so I'd to ask all gambling players do you lose interest to deposit and play on the casinos you're playing if they have unresolved cases.

Yes of course I am reluctant to deposit more money if there are open issues with a casinos. The recent boom in online gambling also attracted more scammers. If I hear that a fellow gambler has issues with a casino I will keep an close eye on it. Rising number of issues and accusations is the first warning signal that there is something wrong with the casino. Nobody wants to deposit money at a casino just two hear two weeks later that it went bankrupt. But of course we need to distinguish between slander and real accusations.
2662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the best ways to invest money? on: December 09, 2021, 07:33:07 PM

What is your goal? Be specific. Getting rich is not specific. One million saved or $1000.00 a month in dividends is specific.

Getting 1k USD per month or 12,000 USD per year is definitely realistic if you have 1 million, but getting to the million first is the hard way. For myself I am not setting any hard goals like this because it could make my risk tolerance to high and I would be willing to take too many risks. Sure having 1 million in my depot would be awesome, but even making it too 700,000 would be nice. I strongly believe in diversification, so I am balancing my investments between stocks, crypto currencies and some commodity funds. So far I would say that from stocks and commodities I am getting between 7-10% return per year, sometimes more, sometimes less and for the crypto portfolio the returns are much higher.

2664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and it uncertainties on: December 09, 2021, 06:48:48 PM
This thread is primarily directed to discuss how traders manage trading uncertainties how do you manage to decide on your trading in a volatile market such as cryptocurrency where price can change within some seconds.

Hard to give a general advice for dealing with high volatility coins. For me it all comes down to how much believe in a particular project. If I think that it is a good project to invest in that uncertainty is not such a big problem. Most of the coins I strongly believe in I hold as a long term investment, with a HODL strategy it is much easier to sit through higher volatility times. When prices change in a few seconds than it becomes hard to trade profitable in my opinion. Because in such short time intervals it all comes down to who has the best internet connection and the shortest distance to the exchange servers. Unfortunately my setup is not so professional and I will be likely behind any more sophisticated trader. Best to just try and trade around such milisecond decisions.

2666  Economy / Economics / Re: The CIA Is Deep Into Cryptocurrency, Director Reveals on: December 09, 2021, 09:05:16 AM
From what I read about the CIA in the past is that they use all kind of shady ways to fund their clandestine operations. Engaging in large scale drug trafficking in the past is probably the most famous one. That is why I am not surprised they are involved in crypto currencies. To be honest they could even run a few of the well known projects. Acting behind closed doors and using famous entrepreneurs as their public face is a speciality. I don't think they worry too much about regulatory aspects since they mostly operate outside of the USA anyways.
2667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats wrong with btc on: December 09, 2021, 08:44:52 AM
I don't think having a coin that moves 10-20% every day is a good market indicator. It's good that bitcoins are not moving so heavily anymore. It's a sign that the  BTC market evolved and is more mature which makes it more attractive for investors. Showing lower volatility means that we have less noise in our trading signals. Its very similar to the stock market where small and mid cap companies move much more than the blue chip stocks. A sideways trend is also an indicator.
2668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Financial Guard Rail ? on: December 09, 2021, 08:36:10 AM

What do you think about such innovation?

It's a good idea to make new Apps to help us gamblers. Everything that helps us improve our gambling habits is a good idea. Keeping track of our wins and losses is important in all aspects in life. I am using an excel sheet go keep track of my spending, investing and gambling balances. Having a designated App can make things a lot easier. Especially for new gamblers it's hard to see the volatility in our bankroll.
2669  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Economic Advantage on: December 07, 2021, 02:09:51 PM
I reside in a country where the rate of inflation is high with a corrupted political system and tenures that have stolen the collective wealth of the nation and have crippled the economy, a high percentage of unemployed graduates who have in the last few years discovered blockchain and have gotten involved in Bitcoin activities such as trading and investments. Indeed Bitcoin has given us the economic power to overcome the crashing economy of many nations. 100% economic independent.

It is good to read that bitcoins helped you to be less dependent on your local Fiat currency. While corruption and inflation is not that high yet in my country I also worry about them. The politicians have so much power within a country, a few wrong reforms can send the economy downward and cripple the currency. Together with inflation this is the biggest risk we face for our savings. That I is why I believe so strongly in bitcoins and other crypto currencies. We need alternatives to the state monopol on monetary supply. It became to easy for politicians to use fiscal stimulus to cover any short falls in the government budget. Crypto currencies are the future and will increase the pressure on countries to get their finances in order.
2670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - Is HODL the only strategy? on: December 07, 2021, 09:16:48 AM
I own different crypto and mostly I stake with them because I am interested in the long return. With bitcoin I am actually doing nothing. Can you suggest any strategies to make even a little APR? I know that I can't stake with bitcoin.

To make a constant return on your bitcoins you would need to sell them and buy them back later at a cheaper price. With the high volatility we see at the moment in the crypto market there are definitely opportunities to make some returns. The problem is that every time we trade we have to pay transaction fees and have the risk to miss out on the next rally. It all comes down to how much time and money you have to spare. I would recommend you to leave 80% of your bitcoins with the HODL strategy, and only use a small fraction of your coins to actively trade them.
2671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest winning so far on: December 07, 2021, 09:05:55 AM
My biggest win so far in a single game was in poker when I won 280 USD in a sit n go game. I usually only player lower stake games but had some free tournament buyins I could use. Usually wins like that don't happen very often, and if they do happen it's a huge boost to our bankroll. After that win I never needed to deposit new money. My biggest win in relation to the buyin was a scratch lottery ticket where I won 65 USD on a 1 USD ticket.
2672  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why exactly is it that people don't like identifying yourselves (KYC)? on: December 06, 2021, 12:24:24 PM
I get that it goes against the fundamentals of crypto currency, but exactly for what reasons though? Assuming you're not using it for anything illegal (if you are then it's understandable), why the concern? I'm asking specifically when trading.

For me the big risk is identify theft. We are sharing so much personal information via Facebook and Instagram that it becomes very dangerous in today's world. If someone has a copy of our passport he could do a lot of harm. There is the risk that our personal information is being misused for some illegal activity which could harm us in the end. Our credit score could be negatively affected like that. And the even bigger risk is that people want to steal from us. From social media criminals easily know when we are on vacation and with all our personal information they know where we live and can break in. Maybe I am too paranoid.
2673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This December is a weird one on: December 06, 2021, 11:58:14 AM
Is this December actually playing out like the past December? Cos right now it looks like this December is a black one lol 😂 things are going side ways and all those crypto chillers on YouTube aren't even catching the trend of what's going on, so what's your own opinions?

This month is really wierd. A few weeks ago I thought we would see a small end of year rally just before Christmas. Politicians kept saying that the covid pandemic is not so bad anymore, many people are vaccinated and we don't need another lockdown. So economy wise this year looked better than last year. But now with the new covid mutation I am not sure anymore. It sounds like another doomsday scenario and maybe we are exactly where we were last year.
2674  Economy / Economics / Re: No where is actually safe on: December 06, 2021, 11:52:23 AM
I fully agree with you that crypto currencies are not 100% save, there is always some risk involved. But so are all the potential investments. If some offers you a 100% save stock deal than he is lying. We can't predict the future with absolute certainty. Even the savest money at the bank can be lost if the bank goes bankrupt. We have seen it in the past with Lehman brothers. The same goes for government debt. It may look very save on paper, but even countries can go bankrupt. With crypto currencies we get at least rewarded for our risks.
2675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: December 06, 2021, 09:36:18 AM
Considering the supply vs global population = 0.003BTC per person to go around.

Then other factors like not all 21 million will be in circulation due to lost wallets/deceased hodlers who never informed anyone where their seed is, and also an increasing global population and future generations who all want in.

Do you think 0.1BTC will be like owning a mansion?

Though question because bitcoin would need to rise a lot to reach that levels. Let's say a mansion costs 5 million, that means the price for 1 BTC would be 50 million USD. That's a lot compared to the 50,000 we are at right now. Maybe in a few lifetimes this could happen, but not any time soon. First of all we need to reach the 100,000 which would make it possible to buy a cheap home for 1 BTC. Long term it still remains to be seen if all countries are going to accept bitcoins. If the ban on cryptos is going to be lifted than it could eventually happen. There is no upper limit for the price of Bitcoins.
2676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $550,000 gambling on sports this month on: December 06, 2021, 09:31:36 AM
Congratulations mate, making more than 10% with sports betting in a single months is definitely a big accomplishment. I hope you are celebrating accordingly. With such a profit 2 weeks Bahamas sounds like a good reward  Cheesy but honestly you must have bet for a while now to be able to stake such large amounts. May I asked with how much money you initially started? Having more than 4m USD to bet with means that you already were rich before. I can just dream of such profits. Hopefully you can keep doing such profits every month.
2677  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: El Salvador on: December 05, 2021, 08:14:35 AM

2678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never sell for a loss - is a Myth !! on: December 05, 2021, 08:04:23 AM

This is why I think "Never sell for a loss" is a myth and we should always use a stop loss and play safe with a good risk to reward strategy.

I agree with you that never selling at a loss is the wrong advice. If we follow it without thinking we can be stuck in a lot of bad investments. There are two reasons why an investment can drop in price. First, the overall market is tanking and sending every asset down. At this point our investment can still be a good opportunity and selling is a bad idea. The second reason would be that investors lost confidence in the investment. At this point it would be better to sell because we don't know if it will ever recover.
To say never sell with a loss limits our actions to much. As good investors and traders need to think freely, without having past losses in our mind. Also we can get tax benefits from a loss and offset future gains to save money.
2679  Economy / Economics / Re: In 2021 to 2022 you decide your life and wealth on: December 05, 2021, 07:53:40 AM

By the 2024 everybody must have decidede are they super rich or very poor .

What will you choose ?

Of course I would choose to be rich, but I don't think the world will be black and white like that. Most asset classes move in cycles, just like the crypto market. This means that there will always be new opportunities to invest and get rich. You might be right that right now it's a chance to become super rich, but do we really need to be super rich? Imagine that everybody know yours face, you become very famous because you are super rich. You can't live a normal life anymore, as soon as you go outside you might feel scared that people can rob you. And everybody is going to ask you for money. Money is important but I would rather live a happy life if I can afford everything I need.
2680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin is overtaken by Ethereum in market cap? on: December 05, 2021, 07:42:55 AM
Never say never, while this might be not realistic today, such a scenario could happen quickly in the future. First of all it would take some prominent investors to push a particular alt coin. ETH might be in a good position right now to eventually break the bitcoin correlation. As long as a drop in bitcoins sends all the other crypto coins down too, it's hard to imagine any coin to surpass bitcoins. But it is just a matter of time for other strong crypto coins to be independent.
If that happens I think we will see a downward spiral for bitcoins. Because many investors just buy bitcoins because it is the largest crypto market. If there is a more successful coin out there I would expect many investors to sell their BTC for that new coin.
