3641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 15, 2021, 08:37:42 PM
The markets seem to be reacting positively, its looking like we could have a nATH over
the weekend.

The "Bitcoin isnt backed by anything" brigade will definitely not be able to play
that card anymore.

The ETF is positive but its another Wall Street tool as far as I understand it will be FIAT
based or settled in FIAT not Bitcoin

It really has been a tournament of upsets but still on the mens side #2 and #3 seeds are yet to play
their Q-finals.

I think the winner of the tournament is very likely to come from the bottom half of the draw. Both Tsitsipas and Zverev should beat both Dimitrov and Norrie.
The best chance Dimitrov or Norrie has really is if Tsitsipas and Zverev face each other in the semi and play a long, exhausting match so they're not 100% fresh for the final... but this is not so likely in a best of 3 sets match. If it was a slam and best of 5 sets, it might have more of an effect.

Thats the way its going to play out, Dimitrov v Norrie and potentially Tsitsipas or Zverev
in the final. ATM its Basilashvilli ahead in the 3rd, and looking like winning the match.

Very interesting match between Dimitrov v Norrie, I think I will go with Norrie after I win
some Satoshi's on the Rugby!

On the womens side the Q-finals are set, Azarenka v Ostapenko and Jabeur v Badosa.
No top 10 seeded player, Jabeur is seeded 12 and the others in the 20's, it just proves
how open the womens game is. I hope Jabeur wins but I'm not betting on any.

Tsitsipas beaten by Basilashvilli

Rugby Union - United Championship

Round 4 this weekend and kicking off with Ulster v The Lions and later
The Dragons v The Stormers.

It will be interesting this weekend to see how the South African sides do
and if they can continue their winning from last weekend.

I have one bet on with Glasgow Warriors v Zebre. I funds are depleted after
a lot of losses at Indian Wells during the week, I need to start winning and
building Satoshi's again.

3644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 15, 2021, 06:29:09 AM
The studio panel on Amazon Prime were talking up Hurkacz and were giving him the win.
I think a lot of people didnt think Dimitrov could back up the win against Medvedev but he played
brilliantly, he deserves it, he is a long time on the circuit and would be classed as an under achiever.

I saw a bit of that match and also a bit of Norroe's match against Swartzman, Norrie did brilliantly
also, winning in 2 sets, 6-0, 6-2.

It really has been a tournament of upsets but still on the mens side #2 and #3 seeds are yet to play
their Q-finals.

3645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome to Uptoberfest on: October 14, 2021, 08:22:42 PM
I think there is some rule somewhere among some traders,

Dont short Bitcoin in a Bull market

i hope you all enjoyed the first 10 days of Uptoberfest. we passed $50k resistance like it was nothing and today $57k was reached with a great momentum that is headed towards $60k and if the same pressure is kept we will pass that like it is nothing too Cheesy

to address some comments, i can see that this trend could be the start of a lot of good things to come. surpassing $60k will be key and it will trigger more buyers attacking the sell orders eating them up real quickly.
i don't think it is too soon for "choo choo" either. specially in mid November when we get Taproot and $200k could be around the corner as it activates.

Uptoberfest can easily pour into November and December making 3 months of bull run with some rest during new year and then much bigger bull runs in first 3 months of 2022.

There is a general consensus that this 4th Q will be action packed in a positive way.
Uptoberfest is bringing us closer to $60k resistance and it will be onwards and upwards
for the rest of Uptober, hard to see $100k though.

Thanks for the interest SFR10.

Yes it will be difficult to carve let alone draw but if I take enough time with both steps
I'm confident [ATM] I can do it. I do a few trial runs on some scrap Teak first, if I can
manage it and based on interest so far I will just create one piece which you can avail of.

Bit of a challenge but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
3647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 14, 2021, 05:49:42 AM
I think a lot of people are losing bets because of all these upsets. I had Khachanov
to win after his win over Ramos Vinolas.

I also had Medvedev the top seed to win against Dimitrov ... what the hell happened
to Medvedev? he was winning 1 set and 4 games in the second and like a switch
started making error after error.

I didnt bet on the Fritz v Sinner match, If I did I would have gone with Sinner ... who lost.
3648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your thoughts about Bitcoin in years to come on: October 13, 2021, 07:13:13 PM
FIAT isnt going anywhere there will be digital payments which are increasing,
its still FIAT without the physical paper or metal but instead through cards and
mobile phone. Bitcoin is not going to replace this system, it is an alternative.

Not everyone wants to adopt an alternative system.

MY thoughts about Bitcoin in years to come?

They will be unbelievably scarce, even if you want to buy 1 whole Bitcoin let alone
Satoshi's you wont be able to. Think about it there are just over 20,000,000
millionaires in the world so even if every single one of them wanted to own 1 whole
Bitcoin it is numerically impossible for them to do so.

Yes sometimes inplay betting can be beneficial, I had Tsitsipas to win and wasnt
watching the match. Happy enough that he won.

I also had Fernandez to win, which she very nearly did but she missed out on the last
couple of points in the 3rd set tie break. It was a great match, have to say she
did well against Rogers' power, and well done to Rogers she is having a good run ATM

There were a lot of upsets yesterday, I had 4 losses with Pliskova, Rublev, Svitolina
and Fernandez.

@aoluain I was tempted to play a small wager on Tsitsipas winning the game, but I feared that he wouldn’t win due to his unpredictable form, and now I do regret for not taking a risk and wagering on his win. Also after reading the insights here on women tennis I no longer think of wagering on them, unless a proven champion emerges and who consistently wins the titles.

But as you have said, Tsitsipas has been inconsistent this year, and it's dangerous to put a bet on him, so it's a big risk specially if you go live betting, but the win is very good.

I do agree with the women's tennis, a lot of top seeds is gone as early as this round.

Rogers vs Ostapenko and then Badosa ver Kerber might be the intriguing match in the QF.

I had a lot of wagers on Tsitsipas this year and I dont think  I have made any Satoshi's
with him. Same really for the womens side of the tournaments, its a very open
game with a lot of upsets and potential winners.

I think even with the best knowledge it would be easy to pick a tournament winner
at the early stages on the womens side.

3651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reasons why I like bear market on: October 13, 2021, 06:25:04 AM
Somewhat agree.

Bull markets are bittersweet— net worth skyrockets to all-time highs, I can afford a lot of stuff, and I overall feel great about myself. Downside being I look at charts like every 5-10 minutes and my overall productivity drops massively. I don't necessarily like bear markets though, as I'm always 90%+ allocated to bitcoin/crypto at all times. I'd prefer sideways markets.

Yes I somewhat agree also.

Points 2. and 3. are irrelevant as they only relate to $hitcoins and I aint got
any, I'm 100% in Bitcoin in the crypto space.

Point 4. is pretty much the same as point 1. If you are going to be squirreling
away Satoshi's on a regular basis the most opportune time is the Bear season.

Like mk4 the Bull seasons make me feel good, I dont feel as bad getting out of
bed at early o'clock to go to the office and work for someone else.

So I have created two more designs with some more details and tried tom
focus on something different. I had a quick look at some coin designs as per
@SFR10 but didnt dwell on them too much as I wanted to create my own
designs without too much infleuence on others.

Its one thing to create a design, the next step is ransferring it to something
physical.

3653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshi symbol on: October 12, 2021, 09:31:42 PM
Ah thats really great artwork, love the theme and colours, only thing is Satoshi
is portrayed as a male figure, I always expect to see a gender neutral figure
keeping a sense of anonymity.

So the Satoshi symbol at first glance is too much like an @ symbol but the combination
of $@T actually works.
3654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshi symbol on: October 12, 2021, 12:50:18 PM
The satoshi symbol is $. End of discussion.  Wink

That could work, why not? its universally recognisable.

The proposed symbol in the OP is far too abstract, It could be a symbol for anything really.

I also ask the question, do we need a symbol for the decimal of a Bitcoin?

BTC2.32407800$

is anyone ever going to say "two bitcoin and thirty two million, four hundred and seven
thousand and eight hundred satoshi's"
for example
3655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 12, 2021, 06:37:08 AM
Well done to Karatsev, Shapovalov has gone off the boil lately, I was going to put a bet on him
but Karatsev has been doing well lately so I didnt know.

I also didnt know about Paul v Rublev, I had Rublev to win. That was an evenly matched game.

I had Pliskova to win also yesterday but Haddad Maia made a big upset by winning in 2 sets,
she was a lucky loser to qualify and a big underdog. I have not heard of her before, well done to her.

My bets for today are Zverev, Tsitsipas, Fernandez and Svitolina.
3656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bitcoin going to burst anytime soon on: October 11, 2021, 08:53:12 PM
Well first of all you can take anything any "Bank" rep says about Bitcoin with a pinch of salt.

He is a bit behind in his criticism, The "not backed by anything" is a very old argument
which we have heard for years.

The general consensus is we are continuing with the Bear market and this last quarter of the
year will see an increase in Bitcoins value.

Quote
If somehow there could be a discontinuance of the bitcoin
there wont be.

Murray is not having enough matches for odd on him to be good

Playing a lot of matches in quick succession does seem to be his biggest problem. This might be mitigated a bit because these aren't best-of-5 slam matches, but still, with each round it will get tougher for him, regardless of opponent.

Good points!

He still has the talent but its, fitness, movement and flexibility which catches up
with him, I cannot see him passing Zverev.

Just watched Schwartzman v Evans, entertaining and was looking like Evans would
do an upset, he took the first and was close for part of the second but Schwartzman
took the third 6-0.

Schwartzman is really consistent for his level IMO

a good start for Andy Murray in Indian wells today, he beat the youngster Alcarez after losing the first set, this shows that he still has the spirits to win, I'll be on the lookup for in the next matche, he won't let go that easy as for now he will face Alexander Zverev which will be really interesting to bet on and watch, I think Murray can win a set and the odds would favor Zverev to win 2-0 I think so it's worth it.

Yup, to be honest, I thought that the young Alcaraz will take this one based on the strength of his showing from another tournament, he just got injured and was not able to complete that one. Maybe he wasn't able to recover from that injury. Nevertheless, not taking anything from Andy Murray, when we thought that he is done and we totally write him off. And then we see him winning again. But tough draw, Zverev will be too good in my opinion and I doubt that Murray can win a set.

Yes I watched that Match, it was a great one, Murray really kept with Alcaraz who eventhough
was playing a lot of powerful shots he couldnt get past Murray and had to resort to a lot of
drop shots which didnt always pay off.

@kro55 Raducanu didnt CHANGE coaches, she let one go after the U.S and came into IW without
a coach in place other than in a temporary role.

And Sasnovich was in top form yesterday too to beat Halep in 2 sets.

Fernandez is continuing on at IW by beating Pavlyuchenkova in 3 sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4
Happy days, I had her for the win, hopefully she can keep making Satoshi's for me.

Ah I thought you were betting on the NEWPORT GWENT DRAGONS in the United Championship.

After the 3rd round Munster, Ulster and Leinster are in the top 3 spots while the 4th irish side
Connacht are down in 12th.

And 3 of the south African sides registered positive results, The Stormers drew against
Edinburgh, The Bulls beat Cardiff and The Sharks beat The Ospreys. I wasnt expecting those results
but the only bet I lost on was Connacht.
