3661  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where do bittrex users keep their bitcoins/altcoins? on: September 30, 2017, 04:48:18 AM
Well if you plan to trade say at least 1 time a week or maybe even more, then wouldn't just keeping all your coins on bittrex be fine though?

Also im curious but why do i hear cases of bittrex accounts getting hacked then?  I mean did they download something?  I watched a few youtube videos and people mentioned the hacker even got through their 2FA etc.

So i figure if u use bittrex, well you can keep all coins you buy there and not have to download every single wallet etc.
3662  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 30, 2017, 04:46:36 AM
So wouldn't any bitcoin i get from now on... say have a site send btc to my electrum account but i give them an electrum address i never used.

So when i transfer that btc to another site ... wouldn't that mean the only trace of that btc is from that address only?  For example let say starting from now on.  I request btc from a site and give them a new btc address everytime.  Then everytime i send btc to a site, i click send btc from this address.  So wouldn't mean that these new addresses i use everytime when sending and receiving WOULD NOT BE LINKED with a btc address that i used a lot to send etc?  For example, if i give you a btc address that i used many times, would you be able to link it to any other btc addresses that i have used etc?  Or only if i give you the other btc addresses that i use 1 time only and then you could check if these addresses are related?  Or you cannot do this?

3663  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked - No Response From Moderators on: September 27, 2017, 11:29:20 PM
The person who i sent a pm to a while back with my btc address tells me he PM'ed that message to mods.  This is when he paid me a very tiny amount of btc.

Can someone tell me exactly how im suppose to do the proof?  I have the same btc address but what do i have to do exactly here?  The thing is at least the hacker got frozen so that is good.

3664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Altcoins trading on: September 27, 2017, 06:41:47 AM
To those of you that just hold coins, does it bother you a lot if price goes down if you have no plans to sell soon?
3665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins that are now $1-10 are likely to ever hit $100? on: September 27, 2017, 06:05:38 AM
What was the last coin to hit $100?  How many coins has hit $100?
3666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What to do when price keep dropping ? on: September 27, 2017, 06:04:01 AM
To those of you that own lot of coins.  Do you like it when the price drops if you plan to buy more coins?  The reason being if coins fall in price, the value of your coins drop.  But you can buy more coins at cheap price.

My thinking is its good only if you want to buy more coins?  But not if you have enough and don't plan to buy anymore?

Are there ppl here that buy lot of coins but do not trade at all and just hold and when new coins come they just buy and hold and DON'T DAY TRADE?
3667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good casino coin that may hit 50-100x on: September 27, 2017, 06:01:51 AM
Are these coins currently used now in these casinos?
3668  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do when prices are falling on: September 27, 2017, 05:48:44 AM
If you own no coins at all or sold all your coins, isn't this the best thing that you could happen?  Thus like imagine you sold everything... now you have usd.  Then you are ready to buy etc.  Like i have btc.  But other coins that i do not own but i want to invest, i want all those coins to drop down etc.  Thoughts?
3669  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this trading strategy profitable? on: September 27, 2017, 05:46:32 AM
Wouldnt this strategy be profitable if you want to make consistently profits say monthly etc?  Because if you are holding, well you arent making any money until you cash out.  So if you do this a few times... say you buy a coin for 2 dollars after a dip.  Let say you buy 10k worth of it so 5000 coins.  Now the coin goes back to 3 dollars.  You sell it all for 15k and make 5k minus fees.  Of course coin can keep going up and you would make more money but you just want to lock in profit.  So if thats the case, then isn't trading profitable in that you can have consistent profits?  Like if you do this full time, i mean you cannot HOLD coins right?
3670  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin Over Market Price? on: September 27, 2017, 05:44:19 AM
So would this work here or not?  Say you have a few people who wants to buy bitcoin and they would message you such as do you have any bitcoin.  You say yes and they willing to give you 2 percent on top.  Then you look at the price on bittrex for example.  Then you tell them the price and say you use bittrex.   Such as okay it will be this amount plus 2 percent so this much total USD you send me and i will send you x.xx amount btc okay?  then once he say yes... you buy the btc on bittrex.  Then he send you the usd transfer, then you send him the btc.  So would this work or not if u using bittrex to buy btc then?  And if so, that means u need usd on bittrex?
3671  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 dollars into a million on: September 27, 2017, 05:40:56 AM
How hard would it be taking 10k to 1 million?  What about 10k to 100k?
3672  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum BTC Address Questions on: September 27, 2017, 02:28:58 AM
Hey all got another question.

So im going to most likely trade altcoins on bittrex.  But to do this, you need btc.  I can get btc from sites and they would send me btc.  The thing is how would i be able to have less tracing of bitcoin address?

For example i receive btc from a site.  I would tell them to send the btc to one of those addresses in my wallet that has zero transactions right?

Then how would i send btc from my electrum wallet where when i send the btc from electrum to bittrex, then they could only see that btc transfer and movement?  For example say i want to get 1 btc.  Send 1 btc from electrum to bittrex.  I would have to right click and then click SEND FROM THIS ADDRESS to the bittrex address?

The other thing is when i send btc from bittrex to electrum since i read even if you trade, its best to keep your wallet in your own wallet as oppose to exchange, then what btc address should i send to from bittrex?  Would i be using a different btc address everytime i send from bittrex to electrum and vice versa?  The reason why i ask this is because in electrum, one or two of my addresses i used a lot etc.

So i would everytime i receive btc from any site or bittrex, send it to a btc address in my electrum wallet that has 0 transactions?  And everytime i send btc from electrum to bittrex, always right click and send it from that particular address so it would be more anonymous?

And most importantly if i a different btc address everytime i send or receive to bittrex/electrum etc, that means theres less tracing right?  Thus an address that i have used a lot in my electrum wallet wouldnt be able to detect these other transactions from my different btc address in my wallet.
3673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I made $3.2M in Cryprto since 2010. Here are my top picks for coins under $1. on: September 26, 2017, 04:09:38 AM
Would you say holding makes more money than trading?  However trading you could make profits if you buy and sell every few days or week etc.  Thus you could have consistent profits but of course you need to make sure you buy coins at low price and then sell when it gets high.

Thoughts on buying a coin that drops to say 2 dollars from 3 dollars and then when it goes back to 2.50, sell all of them?  Like buying a huge amount etc?
3674  Economy / Exchanges / Where do bittrex users keep their bitcoins/altcoins? on: September 24, 2017, 09:52:50 PM
I'm thinking about trading mostly altcoins.  But of course you need bitcoins to trade altcoins.   However i read that most people do not keep their bitcoin/altcoin in their bittrex account.  Is this true or false?  I heard accounts have been hacked and some people say to keep the coins in your wallet.  The issue of course with this would be you have to download a ton of wallets if you trade 10+ different altcoins etc.

So to those of you that trade bticoin and altcoins, do you just keep your bitcoins and altcoins in your bittrex account?

What about you who trade mostly bitcoin and say ETH and Litecoin only?  I assume you just keep it in your own wallet like electrum?  So whenever you are going to do a trade, then you send the coin to your bittrex?  The issue is if you do this, well you have to pay a fee everytime you send if you want the funds to be there quickly.  So if thats the case, shouldn't you just keep your bitcoin/altcoins in your bittrex account if you plan to trade a lot?

I believe other coins like litecoin there is a very tiny fee when sending and sending is pretty quick?  However with bitcoin, if you dont put a decent fee, it could be very slow right?

Then again, i cant imagine someone downloading 10+ or more wallets on their computer to trade altcoins.  I mean do people really download wallets like funfair wallet for example if they want to buy this coin as oppose to just keeping it in their bittrex account since its more simpler?

3675  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum Wallet Bitcoin Security Precautions on: September 23, 2017, 10:22:59 PM
To those of you who use electrum and keep bitcoin there and also use the computer as your daily computer, what precautions should you be taking?  I guess this could be said for those with other similar wallets as well.

I have heard of cases where bitcoin wallet been hacked because someone downloaded malware etc.  But what kind of malware is this usually?  A torrent, porn?  Clicking on someones signature or links here on bitcointalk?  How do electrum wallets generally get hacked?

And by the way as many of you know, most posters here have lot of links on their profiles etc.  Are these links potentially dangerous or not?  Many seem to be icos or other things but could you get a virus from clicking on someones links in their profile?  Thus it could be you click on it and they could hack your bitcoin wallet no matter what it is?

For me i think some precautions would be

1.  Do not download torrents or anything like that

2.  Do not click on links you are not sure of whether online or email

3.  What if you do not have a printer and need to print something in an outside computer.  Thus you save the document on a usb and bring that to a copy printing place to use the computer to open the document up and print it.  However i heard that usb in public computers could cause a virus?  Does that mean never use a usb from your own computer on a public computer?  Then if you don't have a printer, then what is the best way to print documents on a public computer?  Now if you send everything to your email, you still have to log into email from a public computer.  So how could you print something then?

4.  Is streaming from sites generally fine?  Like streaming tv shows or sports from sites like adthe etc like those okay?  I noticed sometimes they ask you to download flash player otherwise it would not work etc.

5.  I heard everyone says get a trezor.  So if you have a trezor, then no matter what happens to your computer, then you cannot get your bitcoin wallet hacked?  The other thing is if u get a trezor, do you still need electrum?  Because with trezor, aren't all your btc in trezor?  So what would be the purpose of trezor?  Now the other thing is what if your trezor got lost or stolen?  Could someone with your trezor take your bitcoin?  Or they need access to the computer you use with trezor?  So if someone has your trezor and computer, then they have access to your bitcoin?

6.  I assume most people with a lot of money in their bitcoin wallet or other wallets keep a computer separately for bitcoin and bank transactions?  Thus thats all it does and nothing else?  Thus not even web browsing or youtube etc?

Any other precautions or tips?  Or how about what could you do on a computer that people think is probably not safe but it would never infect your computer etc?

3676  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to start trading? on: September 22, 2017, 09:47:10 PM
Guys few questions.

1.  Is it basically impossible to trade coins if you don't have an account at an exchange?  Thus using a site like shapeshift or changelly wouldn't work at all?

2.  Is bittrex pretty much the best site to start trading?  What is the 2nd, 3rd best site to do trading?

3.  Does bittrex have the lowest fees when trading which is why people say its good?  Or because its very easy to use etc?
3677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading BTC Question vs Altcoins on: September 22, 2017, 06:05:00 AM
I think people are confused with what im asking.  Let say you got 5 btc when it was 1k each.  You saw btc price went all the way up to like 4200.  You then sell it all now because you notice a dip and it will fall.  But your plan is to buy it back after the dip.  So let say it fall to 4000 and you sell all 5 btc.  So here you sell 5 btc at 4000 each which is 20000 total.  You got the 5btc when it was 1k each so that would be 20000-5000 = 15000 total profit.

Now you notice btc price go all the way down to 3200.  Now you want to buy the 5 btc back for 16000.  So now you have 4k left.  Do people here just keep that 4k or do they use those profit to buy more bitcoin.. thus here... they could buy like 1.25 btc and now have 6.25 btc total?

Someone mentioned they sold all their btc because they noticed a huge dip.  Then they buy all btc at a much lower price.  So i want to know if ppl who sell all their btc when they notice a dip and plan to rebuy all the btc at a much lower price... do they buy only the btc they sold and keep the extra money on the side?  Or do they just use the profit to buy more btc then?

So would that be good idea?  If you notice btc price dip a lot and you feel it will drop more... you sell all btc.  Then you buy it all back at lower price?

And if so what is proper strategy?  Buy back all the btc you sold or buy even more btc with your profits that are left?
3678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading BTC Question vs Altcoins on: September 22, 2017, 12:41:57 AM
I'm thinking about trading altcoins as in buying a bunch of altcoins when prices dip a lot.  Then sell them when the price goes back up.  I found out if you want to trade altcoins, you have to use btc to do this.  Now if i want to trade btc, how do i do that?  Wouldn't that mean trading btc for usd or tether?  For example someone mentioned btc was like 4700 but then it started dipping a lot and he sold all his btc like at 4500.  Then it dipped all the way down to like 3200 or so.  Then he bought all the btc he sold for around that price etc.

So if someone does this, that means they are selling their btc for usd or tether right?  What im curious about is if they sold all their btc at 4500 and then bought them back again at 3200 or so, where does the profit go?  Usually in their bank account or USD balance?  Or do they buy more btc?  For example say someone has 5 btc.  Sold 5 of them at 4500 for 22500.  Then if they buy back 5 at 3200, thats around 16000.  So here they make 6500 profit but do people like this just buy back the btc plus more?  So instead of owning 5 btc, they have like 7 btc because of this?

3679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy WAVES? on: September 22, 2017, 12:29:44 AM
With the existence of several ICO projects that use the Wave platform of course this makes the Wave will grow again with the increasing popularity and confidence of all parties about the progress made in the wave and will be better if it can hold it as a long-term investment.

Is anyone here a bit frustrated that waves hasn't taken off yet?

The other thing i want to know is are there lot of ppl that got waves here when it was like under 50 cent and bought a lot of it?
3680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Small Coins For Massive Profits? on: September 22, 2017, 12:19:36 AM
there are lot of coins that started out as 1 cent.  Many of these coins and they are 50x already.  So isnt this true like buy coins under 1 dollar and buy a lot and you could make lot of profit?
