3661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit support going up = hemorrage stopped on: March 27, 2017, 05:18:52 AM
the same pools that were mining segwit before are still mining it now, so there doesn't appear to be any increase in support and this is just variance related to pool luck.

It could be those pools (BCC and Bitfury) have increased their share of the hashrate. Which of course is also temporary
The downturn back to the same level of ~26% suggests not. It was just variance. Now if f2pool is actually considering signalling segwit, that would be a totally different story.

F2Pool was saying something about considering SegWit in litecoin but i never got a decent source for it except for cryptocoinsnews and since they control 45% of LTC hashrate they haven't obviously done it yet since SegWit support is still around 20-30% http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php

i suppose if they are going to do it, they will do it on LTC first.
3662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange blockchain on: March 26, 2017, 05:49:30 AM
i think you are looking for "decentralized exchanges" and yeah there have been some but none of them are popular and to my eyes they don't seem to be good enough. although i have not tested them thoroughly, i just checked them out.
https://www.cryptocompare.com/exchanges/guides/what-is-a-decentralized-exchange/
you can read some of the downsides here.

there is https://bitsquare.io/ that i can remember. and there are more in that article link above.

and about ethereum i have to say, i doubt it can be successful. because the platform already has bugs and is known to be exploited. that is why i doubt anybody would trust an exchange which is based on ethereum network which is highly likely to be exploited or fork away without any warnings.
3663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best way to gain affiliates? on: March 26, 2017, 05:42:42 AM
Aside from having a review /gambling related website, what is the best way to get affiliates for gambling websites? Or for any website (like faucet for example) in general?
I would like to become affiliate for some casinos and for some good faucets but I am not sure how to promote them and gain affiliates.

well there is a big difference between a faucet and a gambling site. people who to a faucet don't usually stay there for long. most of them claim once and find it a total waste of time and leave forever.
but a gambling site is different. many people actually play there. the problem however is finding people who want to gamble. because putting your ref link randomly in random places will only get you clicks not actual players.
you need to find a place that you can reach actual gamblers and then advertise the casino with your link to them directly. this can be gambling chatrooms or forums or general internet hangouts.
3664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ETH instead of shorting BTC - good idea? on: March 26, 2017, 05:34:38 AM
if you think it is a good idea and you can actually make money, test it and then go for it. don't hesitate.
but the problem with ethereum and generally altcoins is that their movements are nearly unpredictable and it gets more and more unpredictable the more they are pumped. and we all know ETH has been pumped real hard and that means investors would want their money out soon which can potentially make everything unstable.
3665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to dump ETH? on: March 26, 2017, 05:24:47 AM
nothing about bitcoin has changed.
there is no hard fork.
there is no change in who is signalling what.
and there is no change in what bitcoin really is

the only thing that has changed is the fact that "people" are scared, and they are scared of nothing and whales are using this to their own advantage. bitcoin whales use it to dump and buy cheap coins and ethereum whales used it (like before) to pump their ICO coin once again.
people seem to have forgotten the previous pumps of ethereum and how they have happened!
3666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The 2nd RISE is on the way for both Ripple & Ethereum on: March 26, 2017, 05:17:37 AM
the second rise already happened for Ethereum in the past 48 hours, and not it is getting dumped real hard when bitcoin started going up again. you can start praying for bitcoin to stop going up or start going down again and if your prayers are answered, ethereum can go up again. otherwise expect much more dumps to come.

does technical analysis actually work?
not really. specially in a pump and dump coin such as ethereum with lots of manipulations.
3667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XVG is about to get pumped hard.. on: March 25, 2017, 06:42:02 AM
i honestly can not see this coin go anywhere higher than 3 satoshis, i mean have you seen the sell pressure that exists in that market yet? if not go take a look at the orderbooks and you'll see.

in my experience coins like this can not be "easily pumped" unless there is some stupid news like changing of algorithms or being used in a dark market or some dev going out or mining of it change.

and just so you know, up to 20 satoshi that OP predicts requires 110.869BTC at the moment and if price went up from 3 by a miracle the sell pressure will be come more because many will deposit their cold storage XVG coins to dump at 4,5 satoshi to make 100% profit.
3668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin’s High Transaction Fees Open the Door for Altcoin Adoption? on: March 25, 2017, 06:30:22 AM
Will Bitcoin’s High Transaction Fees Open the Door for Altcoin Adoption?
what high transaction fees?
they aren't high. there was a period of it being higher because of the spam attack and it has stopped.
i have been sending tx with 0 fees for the past couple of days and the longest i had to wait was 120 minutes!

besides, the reasons why bitcoin transaction fees went up can easily happen in any of the altcoins. and with all the other problems that these altcoins have i assure you they will be paralyzed in a very short time. bitcoin has been performing well given that the attack has been going on and off for 2 years.

Altcoins have long been ridiculed as useless aspects of the bitcoin ecosystem that don’t offer much in terms of real value to anyone who uses them. While they often make vague promises about how they are “bitcoin with feature X or Y,” the number of them that offer any real use cases today approaches zero.

Having said that, the increasingly higher transaction fees on the bitcoin network may have opened the door for a few of them to achieve some sort of purpose in the form of low-value payments. It’s unclear how how many people desire this particular use case, but let’s take a closer look.

...Litecoin – Litecoin is the option that makes the most sense here. After all, it was Litecoin Iconmarketed as the silver to bitcoin’s gold when Coinbase Director of Engineering Charlie Lee first created it while he was still working at Google. Litecoin has the benefit of being around since 2011, and it was created with a singular focus on payments. In theory, Litecoin makes the most sense for low-value cryptocurrency payments right now.

wow this article that you shared is really full of it Cheesy
i don't mind though, i am loving the litecoin pump. and i am even expecting a big thing out of litecoin as soon as Chinese exchanges (which only have bitcoin and litecoin listed) come back online.

and just FYI things you read about altcoins are not "ridiculing altcoins" most of them are facts pointing out serious flaws in their system. such as them being premined, full of bugs, centralized, manipulated,... you can look at ETH for all that and think if it really is ridiculing them or not.
3669  Economy / Speculation / Re: After Panic Sellers get their fix, China will buy up the Cheap coins on: March 25, 2017, 06:25:02 AM
Because of the ETF rejected that's why they panic that bitcoin price will drop into bottom they panic and sold their coins for have to profit atleast. Ofcourse china are waiting for the maximum drop of coins to buy and stocked another coins. They will pumped it again to make a good profit in the end.

you sound like someone who has been out of the country and now comes in not knowing the language anymore Smiley
let me fill you in.
ETF was rejected, they spread the FUD and price took a big dip and they bought it back again and price went up to normal levels of $1100-$1200.

after some short time, the block size drama which has been around since 2015 started again. this time with much more FUD coverage. and price is taking a dip because the FUD is still ongoing.

and Chinese aren't waiting. their exchanges were out of service because of the PBoC inspection and regulations. they will soon come back online (some of them started already) and with one of the big markets coming back online some stuff will start to change.
3670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RIP Bitcoin, better luck next time on: March 25, 2017, 06:17:19 AM
If you ask me, the winner of the war will be the coin that is called "BTC" or "Bitcoin" by the exchanges and the press in the future. That is what sheeple know. Sad

This.  Because bitcoin is just a brand name now.

congratulations you have won the understatement of the year award Wink
3671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pool Hacked, Or Dishonest Pool, or Rig Rental ? - Exchange(s) Log-in Attempts on: March 25, 2017, 06:04:45 AM
i have no idea what the word "pool" means in the context you keep using it here. but this is not a new thing and it is not even a "hack" that you keep saying.

there is at least a dozen topics about this on bitcointalk specially on services discussion board.

what happens is that some idiot(s) is(are) trying different combination of accounts to see if it can be entered just like that. and loging in is easy. it is like me trying to log into your bitcointalk account. i can go to log in page enter "DoctorG" as username and start trying common passwords "123", "password", "DoctorGPass",... and if bitcointalk was like those service it would have sent you an email informing you someone tried to log in and failed! that is all that's happening.

just remember to have a strong password and enable 2FA if they have it.

what the? men, last time i see just 4,000,000,000 ..

lol, yeah. it is just that the number of users are growing so fast in bitsler and i think it is safe to say it is the number 1 dice site at the moment so obviously it has the most number of players and most number of rolls. and also the fact that their servers are strong and has been able to offer fastest roll speeds. i can say from experience that speed is highest in bitsler.
3673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spotting fake volumes on: March 23, 2017, 08:11:04 AM
I am looking for your help regarding spotting fake pumps created by fake volumes to attract newbie and then they sell out and newbies are dusted?

if you think an exchange platform is doing this with "fake volume" then you should stop using that platform and switch to others.
fake pump is a different story though. it is hard to spot and it is not fake volume, it is fake hype and it attracts newbies to buy into their buy orders. it is going to be a long comment if i want to start explaining, and most of what i'd say is going to be mostly guesses not hard facts but based on evidence.
anyways just make sure to buy before the pump instead of after.

...

don't even get me started on Yobit and how they fake pump Cheesy
they pumped a coin to 8,056,310% once
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1780445.0
not to mention the lower than allowed order size orders
3674  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to short Bitcoin? on: March 23, 2017, 07:37:26 AM
i can just give you a warning and that is the fact that bitcoin price is a rising price, it may fluctuate from time to time specially when there are dramas going on with it but in the end any drama and FUD and the final dip means price goes even higher and faster when it is over the hump.

and i would like to direct everyone's attention to some search results:
Someone just lost $10Million trying to short Bitcoin
2 Million dollars lost trying to short bitcoin
Trader loses at least $240,000 trying to short Bitcoin rally

and these are just the tip of the iceberg.
3675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin gambling games prepared for an upcoming hard fork? on: March 23, 2017, 07:25:36 AM
So imagine if 10% stays on the old chain, it will take 10 times as long to find a block, so 2 weeks becomes 20 weeks, and then the difficulty only drops slightly so it would take like 15 weeks for the next difficulty drop.

I think the important thing to note is that the hash power is going to follow the price. If we assume that 10% of the hash power is on BTC and 90% on BTU.  But if BTC price is worth 20% as much as BTU then miners will find it 2x more profitable to mine on BTC and will switch.

So if you look at it, it's actually not that relevant what miners think. It's what the economic participants that matters. If after the fork the BTC price is greater than BTU price (which I strongly suspect it will be, and plan on right away selling all my BTU) then it *guarantees* that BTC is more profitable to mine than BTU. (Because BTU can only exist while there are less miners than BTC). If enough miners switch back to BTC to mine the most economical chain, then the BTU will literally cease to exist (because BTC is valid to bitcoin unlimited, but not vice versa). In fact that existential risk is going to work against BU making people less likely to want to risk selling BTC for something that can disappear.

this is why i keep saying there won't be a fork split as people panic it would be. instead we either continue seeing the same bitcoin continue the same way or we will see a fork and 1 singular chain in the future.
miners won't risk their million dollar investment to split and mine something that may be worth less and lose a lot of revenue even if it is for a short time. and this is not to mention all the other problems and attacks and exploits that may happen because of a split.
3676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yes, PIVX Is Now Top 20 CryptoCurrency In World on: March 23, 2017, 07:20:40 AM
Ethereum should have a good team considering how much money Intel and Microsoft and co threw at them Smiley

do you have a reference for this crazy claim or is this one of the many hype comments in the ethereum pump campaing.

the only time the names of Microsoft and Ethereum are heard together is on their Azure platform and for that you can add literary anything. if you don't believe me go check how many altcoins are saying Microsoft supports us because they have something on Azure Grin
3677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pessimist's Exponent on: March 23, 2017, 07:13:47 AM
let me quote you so it shows up here too.
Update. We're closer to the red line, but still above it.

and although i don't really like speculation like this, specially when it is similar to extrapolating data from past to get the future but this particular one (which has also been discussed before) seems to be working for bitcoin. the price is rising on this line.

in any case this is a long term speculation and because of that i can agree with it. Smiley

Sometimes there are people sending "*****bank",etc,
is not it a violation of the rules to have multiple accounts? Huh
No. You are allowed to have more than 1 account, usually people also have their own bank account. FYI you aren't allowed to join in any contest in Bitsler with your other account

does anyone know why they do this?
i have always seen these "tips" from xyz to xyzBank and i have never been able to figure out what could possibly be the reason why anyone would do such a thing! what is the point anyways, just keep in one account or withdraw to your wallet if you want.
To avoid gambling everything away that's why they have an extra account in the site solely for storage. Also by doing this you're saving fees since you accumulate first your profits before making a withdrawal.

ok i can get why not withdrawing instead, although the fees are minimum at 20K satoshi.
but i can not get why they can't just keep it in one place and limit the amount they go up! it is all easily manageable. for example limit the max bet while rolling automatic, and i think there are bots that you can use with bitsler and put in your own script.
and when you don't auto roll, things are easy, you just control yourself Smiley

i guess their way is easier for them, despite me not seeing a point in it.
3679  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: March 22, 2017, 07:46:10 AM
i think after this scaling issue resolved. it'll be a long crawl up with lots of ups and downs. maybe in 9 months.

the scaling issue is not really an issue it is mostly a hyped up debate among people that many different groups are using very differently. in the end nothing has changed about bitcoin and nothing will change about bitcoin.

for example in bitcoin market many decided to use the opportunity to dump some coins and create panic to buy cheap coins and they were successful since they could buy bitcoin with a huge $300 discount.
or in altcoin market the whales and manipulators decided it was a good time to pump their coins and they surely did pump them up to 300% and some smaller ones to 450% rise.

and as we can see, as things coming back to normal all those alt pumps are ending and bitcoin is rising back again.

ethereum client that junks up your c drive with 20gb blockchain.

what?!! ethereum blockchain size passed 80 GB last year. i suppose it should be over 150 at least as we speak today. specially with the rate they are creating new blocks and jamming in useless transactions which are not yet big even.
you must be running some kind of prone mode that you see only 20GB Cheesy
