Can someone prove me wrong on something major I've said about history and economics? Please? I hate being right about this sort of thing Sad
3662  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-05] Do These “Free Bitcoin” Sites Work? on: September 05, 2014, 10:47:43 PM
Yep, like others have said these sites are likely some kind of signup scam or something, their are faucets out there that give you tiny fractions of Bitcoin to play with but the amount is so low you can't spend it on anything, part of the reason they do this is because they are using adspace and donations to do it.

I myself am earning some part time Bitcoins taking part in a sig campaign, there are a number of them about and most are legitimate it's just a question of whether you think it's worth it about, I get 0.024BTC for mine per week but the post count requirement is low so I don't think it's that bad.

Driving MW too high is definitely not a way to go.

I agree. Sadly, those who work MW jobs generally do not. These people should be looking for jobs above minimum wage, rather than asking for the minimum wage to be raised. The only way to illustrate the point is to raise MW far too high in a very short time and make people see for themselves what happens.

LOL causing crash in economy, creating huge unemployment just to be able to say "We told you so!" is a bit extreme, and probably it will only have a very short-term educational effect.

They're planning on raising the minimum wage now here in the UK, they're re-calculating for hyperinflation.

They do increase it every year. Don't they?

Going to have to double check that but if they do increase it every year then they probably are adjusting peoples wages for the inflation.
3664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In * we trust? on: September 05, 2014, 09:43:21 PM
It makes a mockery of the U.S dollar, while they trust in god and faith, we trust in mathematics and logic, so I think there's nothing wrong with it in the slightest, we are the opposite of the federal reserve system which is why they hate us.
3665  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Columbia student Emma Sulkowicz vows to carry mattress around university on: September 05, 2014, 09:36:58 PM
One thing I've noticed when it comes to schools is that teachers only care about how their childrens' grades look and how the government sees their schools, doesn't matter what age they're teaching, I think people are right in that they're likely trying to cover it up instead of come clean because they're worried about reputation, unfortunately this kind of thing isn't new, I remember hearing awhile back about child molestation cases and such in the U.S too or something similar.
3666  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Columbia student Emma Sulkowicz vows to carry mattress around university on: September 05, 2014, 07:49:52 PM
I don't understand why any crime isn't handled by the local police. The university can do what it wants with a student who's accused of or found guilty of a crime. But the crime itself should be handled by the police, not the university.

They clearly have way too much power in the U.S, I'll need to double check this but I'm pretty sure in the UK if something like this happened the police would tell the universities to go fuck themselves and hand over any evidence they have, even institutions like the BBC haven't been safe because they've recently uncovered lots of paedophile cases in the organisation.

I lol'd at the watch dog style effects, silly BBC, it wasn't as bad as some of the stuff that they normally do but they're still trying to do the "Anonymity is evil and only used by criminals/terrorists" undertone in their videos.

They're making too many enemies, I suspect they won't be around for long, I think you're right guys, this might be something that will bring everyone together, I certainly can't stand the shit heads, they remind me too much of some of the people I see around in my own town, In fact they'll probably be the same people going over there to fight.
3671  Other / Off-topic / Re: Naruto fucks us all over again on: September 05, 2014, 03:08:51 PM
Where have you been? I stopped watching Naruto when it hit episode 70 and just became fillers lol Cheesy
I went a little more than you -to about episode 150- and a little more in manga.
Btw can someone make a spoiler about what happened in the end  Roll Eyes don't find it motivating to read 1,2 chapters for something that apparently doesn't worth it.

To be fair I did try watching through the fillers but I just lost interest really because that's all it was, dragging out the episodes as long as possible and never getting to the bloody point.

The SWGEmu is up and running well by the way if you ever want to play the real SWG again, I might log in at some point but I'm just too damn busy right now, I only have free time to chat.

Quote
Do we know enough FACTS to explain what God is through science? I don't think so, personally. The best we can do is see that God exists through the multitudes of complex evidences. This is part of the reason that almost all religions stress having faith. We will not be able to scientifically prove God any time soon.

Yet we don't need blind faith. The evidence for God is extremely overwhelming, even if we can't make scientific heads or tails of it at this stage of the game. So, faith has some base in evidence. It is not blind faith.

I love how even when he's trying to convince himself he makes contradictions in the same post.
3675  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you quit your job tomorrow and be happy? on: September 04, 2014, 10:02:42 AM
I don't know, but something needs to be done about our reliance on ISPs that's for sure, if it weren't for ISPs I probably would have bought a plot of land and lived on that ages ago.
3676  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you quit your job tomorrow and be happy? on: September 04, 2014, 09:49:07 AM
I haven't had a job, but seriously, even though I'd still want an internet connection I wouldn't mind living off the land considering if everything goes to hell it's people like this will be the most well off, you can't grow food in a several story flat very easily.
3677  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 9 year old girl kills bloke stone dead with full auto machine gun on: September 04, 2014, 08:58:17 AM
some insensitive cunt is going to accuse her of murder.

I'd be really surprised at this, I would have thought if there was more of a (manufactured) outrage some form of regulation may be put forward.

I hope I'm wrong but this is 'Murica we're talking about, hopefully it will just blow over and they'll let the child go on with her life.
3678  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 9 year old girl kills bloke stone dead with full auto machine gun on: September 04, 2014, 07:08:30 AM
It's definitely a trauma but kids actually can and often do recover from trauma
and grow up to be happy well adjusted adults

I actually think the instructor's family handled this well and I hope you're right but something tells me this isn't over yet because this is America we're talking about here, some insensitive cunt is going to accuse her of murder.
3679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is this bitcoin holder trying to achieve? on: September 04, 2014, 06:30:33 AM
While I haven't seen the process itself I've poked around the darknet and I've seen Bitcoin 'washing' services advertised it seems a bit like a manual version of Dark Wallet where it's just mixing up transactions amongst each other to confuse anybody who might be watching as to which source it came from.

Also, the fact that you're trying to poke around peoples' addresses because you're a nosy twat just goes to show people aren't paranoid Tongue
3680  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you download illegally? on: September 03, 2014, 04:24:53 PM
I very rarely ever download indie developers' stuff because they always represent their product honestly with gameplay videos and such, however when it comes to publishers I'll pirate just to piss them off, I hope they all go to consoles and leave PC gamers alone.
