3661  Economy / Speculation / Re: New all time high record | $66,000 on: October 20, 2021, 10:38:25 PM
A new all-time high record has been hit, with Bitcoin surpassing $66.000. An outstanding performance which was a result of the announcement of Bitcoin ETF approval, which I've yet to understand what exactly it is.

The ETF just made a small push if we take into account everything that has happened in the past 1+ years, and I'm just curious at what point ordinary people will understand what it's really about - futures are just futures, it's not the ETF we actually hoped. The media is selling this news very well, similar to what they did at the end of 2017.

Anyway, it was something quite unexpected, and didn't actually believe that we'll see a new record by at least December. Let time do the work.

It was only a matter of time, all summer we talk about Q4 as a period in which the price will explode because so far it has always happened in the year after halving. Now we can only speculate how high this rocket can take off, and it seems to me that it has quite a bit of fuel and time for one long flight at least to the Moon, and maybe even further.

Quarter 4 is where the action is going to be, anyone following PlanB will be
expecting at least $135,000 this year.

Threads like this one will be popping up every week as we hit nATH's and with them
there comes a new buzz around the Bitcoin space.
3662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 20, 2021, 10:00:52 PM
Murray vs Schwartzman, weird it's Murray that is now the odds favourite to win @1.82 ML vs Diego's @1.95.

I'd have Schwartzmann as favourite. Murray has more talent and ability, but his injuries mean he's not the player he was, and he can't sustain top-level performance for the duration of a tournament. His first round match was long and draining (3h45m), so I would pick Schwartzmann to win this one. But then my record in tennis betting is awful. Cheesy

Yea I have a small bet on Swartzman at 2.0 to win, he isnt favourite but I think that
last match against Tiafoe was brutal on his body. So 0.01mbtc @ 2.0.

My record in betting on Tennis goes from excellent pics to disastorous.

  • Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova @ 1.25 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Aryna Sabalenka @ 1.23 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Elena Rybakina @ 1.85 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.09 mBTC
  • Anastasia Potapova @ 3.78 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.19 mBTC
  • Ons Jabeur @ 1.31 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC - CANCELLED

  • A. Kalinskaya/A. Potapova @ 1.65 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.08 mBTC

@Timelord2067's bets look solid, thanks for sharing maybe I just have to pick up one bet though.

Thanks for your good wishes, hopefully you did well.

I meant to post these bets earlier Simona Halep won against Anastasia Potapova:

  • Simona Halep @ 1.35 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC
  • A. Kalinskaya/A. Potapova @ 2.01 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.10 mBTC - CANCELLED

I'm nnot certain - was the Bernarda Pera - Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova match delayed?

That game must have been cancelled, its being played now with Pavlyuchenkova
taking the match 6-2, 7-5.

That was a poty about Potapova losing to Halep, it was a good gamble because
Halep has had a mixed season really.

Welcome indeed Kakmakr, I know you from the Tennis thread.

Good point about the SA sides, between the four sides in the last 4 rounds
they have only won 4 matches between them.

With the likes of the afore mentioned teams the others have little chance
if they are not winning regularly.

Timelord, as usual I'm betting on Sportsbet they have the United Championship
still listed as the PRO14.

And the official website - https://www.unitedrugby.com/match-centre/table/202101

3664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: October 20, 2021, 06:35:15 AM
Im not familiar with the Mitre 10 Cup and I have to be extremely selective on what
I bet on, some would say thats what we should be doing anyway.

I assume they are all favourites? same with the premiership sides?

On the United Championship, I was listening to a short article about Leinster on the
radio yesterday and about how the pretty much own this competition and only a couple
of sides have a chance against them, Ulster this year, Munster and Glasgow Warriors.
They have massive depth in their squad with a few players competing for every position
and they are able to rotate players from week to week and not compromise the performance.

I'll be betting on Leinster every week as a default.
3665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fomo AGAIN? on: October 19, 2021, 10:10:41 PM
Do you think FOMO is created once again & people are likely to get in?
Are you kidding?  It's only in times like these when FOMO rears its (often dangerous) head.  If you've got a real fear of missing out on bitcoin rocketing up to who knows what price, my advice to you is to keep that emotion in check as best you can--and I know it's hard when you're looking at preev or wherever and see it moving closer and closer to a new ATH.  Why?  Because I have a feeling that there'll be a dip either before it surpasses the ATH or shortly after if it does.  That'll be the time to buy.

I have sold all my BTC long ago; later on, bought little amount only. Sad I didn’t buy the dip.
Oh, man.  That sucks.  But if it's any comfort, I don't own much either and I'm more of a bystanding cheerleader of bitcoin.  It's times like this when I try not to think of the time I got scammed out of 0.3BTC by TimSweat.  Bitcoin was worth a lot less then and it didn't sting too badly at the time, but if I had that now....

Usually I have the Speculation section on ignore, but I just had to check the threads here today.  Have we not already hit a new ATH?  Per preev, bitcoin is at $63,280.

Yup, unfortunately FOMO happens at the wrong times, when the markets start moving
up, IMO and what many on here do is buy the dips, the dips are the times to FOMO.

nATH approaching, as posted there is a high possibility it will happen today/tomorrow.
The great thing about breaking an ATH is there is no history, its like a new frontier.
3666  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I found my old Wallet with 22 BTC but I lost the password on: October 19, 2021, 08:49:38 PM
In both cases, the two people must trust each other.

In this case, you need to trust someone that they won't steal 22 BTCs that are currently worth almost $1.4 million - and if I were you, I would think twice and try my best to solve the problem on my own.

I am not a thief, far from it. I have contacted a few people but I will contact Dave too or if other people want to join no problem.

The more people you involve in this, the greater the chances that the worst will happen to you, just one bad person is enough to leave you without everything. All these years on the forum, only Dave has gained a reputation as a person with honorable intentions, and if he can't help you, then one day you may remember the password yourself, or you'll have to wait for quantum computers - although I'm not sure if they can help you with complex password.

As Lucius posted I also suggest trying again all your possible passwords, no need to
rush, I would start with pen and paper, write down all the possible passwords, this way you
can cross them off the list. It is easy to get caught up in the process and start inputting passwords,
maybe putting them in twice and
forgetting to input others.

We have all heard the OP's story before, and will continue to hear them in the near future.
Back when Bitcoin was buttons very few had the foresight to stick with it.

The OP is lucky at least to have the original HD,  onsidering  how many have
already gone to landfill.
3667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 19, 2021, 12:04:44 PM
this tournament also showed us that there is no "new big three", all these players that are trying to replace big trio, are far lower quality, and we will have probably four different winners on four grand slams in a year, as soon as Novak retires

Definitely, it's the end of an era (or getting towards it). Those three are all-time greats, and it was bizarre to have them all playing at the same time. We've been waiting for years for the next big player to step up, but understandably no-one has been able to match these three so far. But at least it will be interesting having diferent winners all the time, with no-one really dominant.

Maybe when they really go out and say that they are retiring, we could see players becoming the next big 3. But Djokovic is still active, and Nadal trying as well and maybe we can still see Federer next year too.

Perhaps after they 'officially' call it quits, Medvedev, Rublev and Tsitsipas can comfortably claim the next big 3. They just need to step up and starts to win Grand Slams.

I think it will become a little more open than just Medvedev, Rublev and Tsitsipas,
We must also consider Zverev and Sinner at least. There are also some other players who
have been showing great potential, Felix AA, Berrettini, Harris, Opelka and Popyrin for example.

Maybe it will become a bit like the womens side where there are a number of players
who can beat each other regularly.

In the WTA in Moscow, I'm putting some small wagers on the following:

  • Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova @ 1.25 Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Aryna Sabalenka @ 1.23 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.06 mBTC
  • Elena Rybakina @ 1.85 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.09 mBTC
  • Anastasia Potapova @ 3.78 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.19 mBTC
  • Ons Jabeur @ 1.31 - Taken Amount: 0.05 mBTC - Possible Payout: 0.07 mBTC

I haven't made any pics on the WTA in Tenerife for today.

I have only briefly looked into the Moscow tournament and decided to go with 1 bet in Antwerp,
Harris to beat Bergs. I only have a small amount of Satoshis to play with without loading
my account....again.

Those look like good bets Timelord!
3668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: October 19, 2021, 06:29:37 AM
There has been talk that the Six Nations Championship (union) should have a
relegation structure also. Italy being the weakest side with most years seeing them
failing to win a single game.

Georgia for example are in 12th spot in the world rankings ahead of Italy, maybe they should get
a spot in the competition, thats the argument anyway.
3669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I grow my Crypto Bag without trading on: October 18, 2021, 11:08:34 PM
I added $100 bitcoin more to my stash yesterday when I received my salary.

And I think that is the only safest way of keep increasing my bitcoin holdings because like you I don't want to lose any by trying trading and/or staking.

I do try and find work online to add more to it but it is almost next to impossible to find good paying work online unless you have incredible skills.

So, keep buying when you can and as much as you can afford to.

Thats it, literally funnel as much FIAT into Bitcoin, If you have a habit of saving
on a weekly or monthly basis in a bank just change to Bitcoin and HODL.

The last thing you want to do is take a risk and lose waht you have because
of lack of experience.

Stack Satoshi's at every dip and be patient.

Build you account here on the forum, it will take a bit of time and you could
get a chance to earn some Satoshi's, again patience is the key.
3670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we accelerate the mass adoption of crypto? on: October 18, 2021, 04:56:29 PM
People are slow to wake up to Bitcoin, they are happy to continue their financial
struggles with the FIAT system, a lot of people, the vast majority are financially
illiterate they dont realise the implications of inflation on their money let alone
the benefits Bitcoin can offer...
so its a slow process, what helps are bull markets like what we are experiencing ATM,
but so many people see only short term gains and are not interested or are oblivious
to what Bitcoin was designed for.

I would love to know what are peoples vision of mass adoption?
3671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Doctor Doom Nouriel Roubini now NOT anti-Bitcoin on: October 18, 2021, 12:29:01 PM
Yea he is still touting "Traditional assets" which I'm sure some will work, like Real Estate.
It must be difficult for these anti-Bitcoiners to roll back and contradict their previous
statements as @mk4 posted "Scams" "ponzi" and "Tulips"

@SFR10 - There are/were a few more anti-Bitcoiners which I highlighted on various threads,
I'm  sure you know them.

Jamie Dimon & Tulip Bulbs

Warren Buffett & "Rat Poison"
3672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 18, 2021, 07:10:53 AM
It was over in three sets for the ladies, it was Badosa who wins, very tough games as Azarenka is well experience. And the two sets that Badosa won is through tie-breaks.

Norrie vs Basilashvili, first set already, Norrie is the favorite but still a tough call, so I went over with this match and hopefully we can witness another three setter of a match, just like the ladies.

I watched the womens final and put a small in-play bet on Azerenka to win when I saw
her storm through the second set, Badosa couldnt stay with her. Azerenka in the 3rd
was two points away from taking the title at 5-4 when she double faulted. Her service
game throughout the match kind of let her down.

Didnt watch the mens, it was after midnight here, happy to see Norrie take the title, well
done to him and to everyone who backed him.

To be honest, I haven't heard of this guy before, but I can see that he's a serious economist with top-level education,
You're probably not following this space closely enough. Tongue (which is totally fine btw). He's been a big critic in like 2017.

I created a thread about him and his quotes over the years, he has been a staunch
critic of Bitcoin.

Dr.Doom - Most crypto people are totally clueless

The thing is since the worlds financial stimuli reactions to the financial effects of
COVID-19 its clear that the only safe haven for wealth is Bitcoin, traditional FIAT
based investors see this NOW. Like many they couldnt see it before 2019.
3674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country? on: October 17, 2021, 06:34:29 PM
Interesting to see what 1BTC can buy ATM around the world...

Here in Ireland it could get me:

A car: MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG EESTATE 510 BHP

A house: [Project] on 0.62acres with outbuildings in the countryside

3675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 17, 2021, 06:27:35 PM
~snip
I'm tempted to back Norrie now actually, given the way he dismantled his (higher ranked) opponent in his last match.

it is really interesting to see four players in the semi-final, and neither is a bit of favorite
Norrie is good, Dimitrov is more experienced, and I expect good match, but Norrie to win, probably under games is good bet, since threshold is high, and Dimitrov is famous to give up, if lose first set, one turn-around on this tournament is more than enough for him

Norrie could win this masters as well

It was Norrie indeed, 2 setter win, 6-2, 6-4 and it was Under.

I was hoping that Dimitrov will continue his run, he has been playing good in this tournament overall. He was really cool in this game, as Dimitrov really tries to come back in the second. Norrie break him in the first game in the 2nd set, but it was not very easy, Dimitrov fends off 3 break points. But this is just want Norrie needed.

I caught the Norrie win, however, Fritz vs Basilashvili?  Basilashvili beat Fritz in two sets as well. I thought that Fritz will go all the way to the finals, first set was close, he just lost in the tie break.

Similar games with Norrie in the second set, Basilashvili just needed a break in the second and never look back in the match. Fritz really played well again, no doubt, but it was that Basilashvili has every answer.

So the stage are set: Norrie vs Basilashvili. Who you do think will win in the finals?

We have to hand it to Fritz he did phenominally well to come back 4 months or so after
knee surgery and get to the semi's of Indian Wells.

Who will win? have not got any idea. I dont mind either TBH, its nice to see lower ranked
players in the final. Looking back over the matches both had at IW, they both have beaten
higher ranked players and had 2 and 3 setter matches.

Am I betting on this? no
3676  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Polymerbit Loaded Certificates on: October 17, 2021, 09:25:15 AM
Oh yes, I would be into that also and like the Idea of going Orange as above or inserting
another colour for the Bitcoin logo in Orange, taking it from a 2 to a 3 colour print.

Any option works!
3677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Cryptocurrency be a Global Currency in the Future? on: October 16, 2021, 04:59:17 PM
Yes, It can be expected that cryptocurrency will be a Global currency in the future.
The BTC will be the father coin and there will be a lot of sub coins.
Cryptocurrency is a unique kind of currency that has great potential.
It has an attraction for all ages of life. It has a great opportunity for those who want to do something and desire to step forward.
Moreover, It has equal chances for poor or rich for development .
This currency has brought a revolutionary change in the world of business and trade.
It promotes a positive activity also.

Its deflationary
Its decentralised
No one country or government can control it

We will see digital currencies, Digital Dollar, Euro etc. these will be issued by
various countries who will have control of the supply, just like FIAT today. Bitcoin
does not offer any government the possibility to "print More" as they see fit,
just like the financial stimuli response to the effects of COVID-19 for example.
3678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: October 16, 2021, 01:08:56 PM
Rugby Union.

I've just put bets on the following matches:

New Zealand NPC: Canterbury to beat Hawke's Bay, Wellington to beat Manawatu, Tasman over the Bay of Plenty

France Top 14: Toulon over Racing Metro 92, Toulouse to win against Lyon, La Rochelle to beat Brive

England Premiership Rugby: London Wasps to sting the Chiefs, Gloucester Rugby over London Irish, Bath Rugby to pour cold water over the Saracens

I don't always get to see the Rugby Highlights, so it's more based on previous wins, plus nitrogensports.eu (who I bet on Rugby League/Union games with) don't always carry all Union/League games.  (and their Guinness Pro 14 prices this week are all for varied scores, not just "to win"

I have done a few bets on the France Top14 tournament, strangely enough I would be
a little more familiar with the French teams than the English sides.

If I was betting on it this weekend I would probably go with Racing over Toulon and
agree with La Rochelle over Brieve.

Glasgow Warriors are ahead in the first game today of the United Championship, they
should win so I can do another bet.

3679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 16, 2021, 12:58:21 PM
Another top seed out, Fritz did very well to beat Zverev, I didnt have a bet on that game,
luckily as I probably have gone with Zverev.

Its actually nice to see lower seeded players getting a chance at a top tournament
other than a 250 or 500 ranking one.

No top10 seeded player in any semi's
3680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 15, 2021, 08:37:42 PM
The markets seem to be reacting positively, its looking like we could have a nATH over
the weekend.

The "Bitcoin isnt backed by anything" brigade will definitely not be able to play
that card anymore.

The ETF is positive but its another Wall Street tool as far as I understand it will be FIAT
based or settled in FIAT not Bitcoin
