3681  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Adblock Script on: March 26, 2015, 05:49:31 PM
I won't install it and I do not want any signature blocked because I feel that I will lose some insight with them blocked. But it is a great option for all signature campaign haters, they will have an ad free forum... But I guess they will be still complaining...

Yes of course, you are right. They will complain again and again for the post itself (I think everyone should participate to the forum activity, but he should add a constructive concept to the thread). However thanks for the script @grue, I will 'install' and execute it when I will return to my home.

Maybe this script may be integrated to the forum without the use of an addon or extension, what do you think?

3683  Other / Politics & Society / Re: France plane crash: No survivors expected [Condolences to the families] on: March 26, 2015, 04:38:49 PM
Passengers planes needs a escape system that have been equipped on fighters.

I think it is better to add a new security system to the airplane, why not add something like a key "multisig" so if the co-pilot (like in this bad situation) close it into the cabin the pilot and one hostes can open the door with their "keys". I hope you understand, it is the same system of the multisig address (2of3).
3684  Other / Politics & Society / Re: France plane crash: No survivors expected [Condolences to the families] on: March 26, 2015, 04:26:19 PM
I just heard on the news this morning they suspect the pilot committed suicide. In the black box recording they said you can hear him breathing calmly and the captain in the background trying to break down the door.

Yes, I also have heard this news in the morning but it has not any sense. why he did that thing? He has killed all those people (RIP) without any reason (kill a person has not any sense, only in defense cases). However It could be a jihadist (terrorist) but I don't understand why he crashed to a mountain instead a city, so the chance of a jihadist could be very low.

Suicide doesn't need to make sense to anyone other than the one committing it. Therefore, regarding all the other lives lost: A Muslim may believe he is doing the will of Allah, by waging jihad.; A Christian may even rationalize that they will all just go to heaven (or hell) a bit earlier; A Buddhist might think they were doing everyone a favor by ending their suffering; A nihilist believes everything is meaningless, therefore it doesn't matter how many lives are taken. Aside from any religious or philosophical regards, if you commit suicide, it is often simply an act of desperation and you probably just don't care anymore (emphasis made) about the repercussions of your actions.

You are right, it could be a raptus attack. This situation reminds me this film : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Tales_(film)  They should check the story of each passenger (it is very strange).

3686  Other / Meta / Re: A more effective way to reduce signature spamming on: March 26, 2015, 12:19:59 PM
I really want to know what BadBear think about this "secondary" way to reduce the spam and insubstantial posts. As I said previously I'm sure at 99% their quality post will greatly increase and they will start to think why my posts and activity aren't good?
We are obviously talking about the different kind of spammers. There are those, who post a lot and want to earn money. They don't even know what they're doing until they get banned. Usually after the ban, they realize it and start fixing their behavior. I'm talking about those that are intentionally spamming. They don't learn, because their intentions are bad.

I guess more frequent input from staff on these matters would be beneficial (not just discussing, but rather trying out solutions).

It seems the ban from post and send PM doesn't change the intention of those users (bold part). They should be banned from wearing a sig ad, this can be more efficiently than ban their from be active here in the forum. Can I ask you one thing? Is this a forum : yes or not ? I think you will reply : yes this is a forum.
So it is normal that someone with or without a sig ad, post 10-15-30 posts per day or am I wrong? ( obviously if that someone will post without add a constructive concept to the thread he should be banned or if he is wearing a sig ad as the OP said, they should not be allowed to wear a signature).

This was only my personal opinion, but I may be wrong.
3687  Other / Meta / Re: A more effective way to reduce signature spamming on: March 26, 2015, 12:04:56 PM
...snip...

I am sure their post quality will greatly increase and they will "learn" a big lesson.
Maybe yes, maybe not. But i think that it's a great way to warn a user, especially if is active a lot: in this case, indipendently from his signature, a ban can seriusly harass communication in other forum business (for example private sales, escrowing, etc...)
Actually no they won't. Some spammers are really persistent, even beyond your imagination. They actually keep buying accounts to continue their spamming spree. Banning them doesn't help as they make a lot of accounts at once and make all of them advance over time.

I really want to know what BadBear thinks about this "secondary" way to reduce the spam and insubstantial posts. As I said previously I'm sure at 99% their quality post will greatly increase and they will start to think why my posts and activity aren't good?

3688  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scotland to ban smoking in cars with children on: March 26, 2015, 11:46:58 AM
Would be better if they made a law that exempted children from prosecution for defending themselves against scumbags hotboxing them in captivity.
Great idea! Now think of all those middle aged people suing their elderly parents for lung damages they got inhaling smoke in the car. It's always better to prevent then repair the damages.

I agree with the smoking ban, it's unhealthy and some people are just ignorant and won't stop even if you ask them nicely. They have to be hit in their wallets to learn anything.

This category of people is 'rude' and as you said "if you ask them nicely" they will attack you and say you << what the fu*k do you want?>>. Now explain me how to deal with this type of person, it is impossible but when we are talking about the smoke near children they should at least reason a little bit and stop to smoke nearby them // or am I wrong?

I'm pretty sure this law already exists here in Canada and they're working on expanding it to include homes as well.

Are you sure? I didn't find anything of interesting, can you please give me some links or document about your utterance? Thanks.

3690  Other / Meta / Re: A more effective way to reduce signature spamming on: March 26, 2015, 11:36:27 AM
Instead of banning the whole account, wouldn't be more effective to just remove the signature for a period of time? This will result in a denied payment from signature managers, and also should raise the posting quality, instead of creating more spamming sockpuppets from the banned users.

In case of repeated spamming i would continue to perma-ban as it already happens.

I agree with alexrossi and I also think it is more 'efficace' remove the possibility to put a signature (to all the spammer and who make insubstantial posts) instead to ban them from post and send PM here in the forum. I am secure their post quality will greatly increase and they will "learn" a big lesson.

3693  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptoine.com HACKED [race condition bug] on: March 25, 2015, 10:34:02 PM
Here some interesting articles :

Not even a month has passed since AllCrypt Bitcoin was taken down and another Altcoin exchange has been attacked by hackers. Cryptoine offers numerous markets that are generally absent from larger exchanges. Apparently, it has stopped operating due to a hack attack. Operators of Cryptoine have promised to reveal details but no specific time or date has been declared as of now.

Another altcoin exchange has been hacked, not even a month after AllCrypt went down. Cryptoine, which offers a number of markets not available at larger exchanges, is down as of this morning, claiming a hack. The operators have promised to be forthcoming with details at an unspecified time and date.
....
Multi-Signature Withdrawals More Necessary Than Ever

This attack, along with other recent attacks such as the one on the Chinese exchange Bter, co-incides with wide-ranging calls in the community for broader implementation of multi-signature security. There is a lot of suspicion that exchanges are not implementing such because in most cases these supposed “hacks” are in fact inside jobs not unlike Ponzi schemes where the owners make off with the funds once there is a sufficient amount.

Smoke in a small enclosed environment is sufficating even for smokers, let alone small children. Getting a from the box and lighting it is as dangerous as using your mobile phone while driving. I think this law is very reasonable.

As I said in the other post the children should be safeguarded, it is in their right.

I have heard of pet rocks. But children cars?    Grin

You are so funny, but can you stay on topic? Thanks.
3695  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scotland to ban smoking in cars with children on: March 25, 2015, 09:19:52 PM
I think it's a stupid law that's a waste of money, but I do agree that people shouldn't smoke around kids (I smoke myself btw).

I would expect that the vast majority of people wouldn't smoke in the car with children anyway, but for the ones that do, why not just tell the kids in school from a young age that it might, possibly harm them if daddy smokes a fag on the school run every day? They will be giving daddy an earful on the ride home that day, and the next day he will wait till he gets home before sparking up  Cheesy And all with negligible cost to the taxpayer! You know what, fuck this Bitcoin shit, I'm running for government bitches.

Yes, for someone is 'another' stupid law for other people is a 'great' law. Everyone think at one thing, and the government don't help....

Whatever happened to liberty and an individuals right to chose?
If people want to smoke, drink, eat doughnuts or whatever it's their choice alone and none of the governments damned business.

I suppose you ar (almost) an anarchy or am I wrong? However also you are right but always in the respect of the other people.

3698  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scotland to ban smoking in cars with children on: March 25, 2015, 07:19:32 PM
Scotland is to ban smoking in cars with children, bringing it into line with forthcoming legislation in England and Wales to protect young people from secondhand smoke.

The Scottish government announced it would back the smoking prohibition (children in motor vehicles) (Scotland) bill, which has been put forward by the Liberal Democrat MSP Jim Hume.

The bill, which is hoped will receive royal assent before the next Holyrood elections in May 2016, covers all cars, although Hume acknowledged that as it progresses discussion may take place about exempting convertibles, when they have the roof fully down, to bring it into line with English laws.

“This legislation will ensure that we can put a stop to the 60,000 journeys being made in Scotland each week where children are being exposed to dangerous secondhand smoke,” he said.

Are they serious? Where is the freedom of choice to do whatever you want (but in the respect of the other people)? Can you say your opinion here? Thanks.

i bolded what i think is important for a possible answer.
we know for sure that smoking/cigarette smoke is bad for human beings especially for children.
the problem is now parents that smoke usually dont think about that and it becomes natural for the child to see and inhale smoke.

in essence if someone would ask you to stop smoking beside him/her you should stop but it just dont happen in reality.
i think this bill is really about the protection of children.

I don't smoke, but if someone ask me to not do something beside him I stop immediately because I respect the other person. Here as you told it is a question of protection/health of the children (the most important thing when you are talking about 'smoke').
Thanks for your opinion, come one guys I would like to read your opinion about this fact : Are you agree or disagree?
3699  Other / New forum software / Re: Can the mod add GetGems Messenger to Forum Profile Information? on: March 25, 2015, 07:12:39 PM
Current options are:

ICQ:
This is your ICQ number.

AIM:
This is your AOL Instant Messenger nickname.

MSN:
Your MSN messenger email address.

YIM:
This is your Yahoo! Instant Messenger nickname.

Most of these are so old, can we add a Crypto related Messenger to the list please? Most promising one is GetGems and has some active support at Bitcointalk. It works with usernames and at the same time it can be used with Telegram.

Instead of GetGems I prefer to use telegram, but I think it is not necessary to add (or change) another field. You can put your nickname/number in "other contact info". Here someone has made the same request but for telegram : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=977465.0
