you mean blockchain.info deserves to be taken to court? no reason for any government to do so. beside that, does any one know if blockchain as name is trademarked?

I don't think the name "blockchain" is trademarked, but that's a good question. The Bitcoin community made up the word blockchain. Everyone was using it to refer to the public ledger that starts with the Genesis block, and which miners add new blocks to. It was from that name that Blockchain.info started collecting the public data on the blockchain, like new transactions, and putting it in easy to view format. When trademarking a name the name must not be a word commonly used in public, and even then the trademark holder has to defend the name if people start to use it that way. For example, that's why Xerox would prefer people say "copy it" than "xerox it", because the latter weakens their trademark.

i have been searching but there indeed doesn't seem to be a trademark regarding blockchain as name. maybe it's better to keep it as it is now.
3682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has bitcoin price not been moving? on: June 04, 2015, 11:04:36 PM
I think stable price for a period of time is good, so people can buy more coins if price remains volatile people will be afraid of buying/selling. I am looking to buy some coins if it goes down at an unexpected price and won't sell if it goes up. Bitcoin has bright future!

don't wait too long with buying. at some point the price may go up quite a bit and you'll blame yourself for not buying. buy a certain amount, and buy more if the price goes down. via this way you can't go much wrong.
3683  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin chart patterns (You ain't seen nothing yet) on: June 04, 2015, 11:00:22 PM
Ok, the charts look alike, but why would it follow that specific pattern? Because some people call it digital gold?

as soon as certain charts show a similar movement, then they think bitcoin will follow the same line. they are basically trying to make themself happy believing bitcoin price will explode.
3684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik introduced Eth progress in Hangzhou hosted by 8btc on: June 04, 2015, 10:36:51 AM
chinese are really into cryptotechnology, is like they was waiting for it since long time this is good, i'm curious what chinese people think of that project, they seems to enjoy it from the photos

Well, I have to admit that most Chinese are into the "price" instead of the technology.
If "that project" refers to Ethereum, I can tell you that several exchanges are following the launch of Eth closely.

chinese people in general have a gambling sort of investment style. they take huge risks to achieve the highest possible profits.

I wonder if this isn't going to create problems for them later on where governments or organizations will try and take them to court over a Bitcoin matter...they deserve it for choosing such a silly name!

you mean blockchain.info deserves to be taken to court? no reason for any government to do so. beside that, does any one know if blockchain as name is trademarked?
3686  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now that bitlicense is final, all eyes on the Winkies on: June 04, 2015, 10:07:09 AM
it will be interesting to see how much impact their exchange will have. i think very little at the beginning. traders are not reacting on any kind of news anymore.

because current traders lineup, is made of rich guys and bot, they don't care about news, they are waiting when someone will trigger the up trend

if this new exchange from the Twins will do it, then all the good news will be just a good boost for helping the price to skyrocket

basically one is waiting the other right now and none is moving, that's the problem...

it is an alternative to our currently sloppy exchanges. if large traders have fait in their new exchange then it might trigger a small rally.
3687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Block Halving in 2016 - Boon or Bane for BTC price ?? on: June 04, 2015, 10:02:30 AM
the real boom will arrive long before the halving, it could arrive for example around march 1 2016, when the XT client with its new TX limit will be launched

that could be a good launch pad, for skyrocketing with the halving

it is very unlikely that the price will remain as it is right now until the halving

Can you please elaborate about the text that I bolded out. Don't know and never heard of that, so interested to know about it.

it's a new upgrade done by Gavin, it is needed to rise the transaction limit per second, which is nearly fully saturated now, and it needs to be raised before the halving, so we can accomodate bigger merchants that require many more TX per second

it's not only done by gavin as i am sure gavin and other devs will meet in the middle. only sad thing is that the other devs don't support something so important.
3688  Economy / Speculation / Re: We have become cautious on: June 04, 2015, 09:59:27 AM
i guess most people have already bought their coins and are waiting for the price to move forward. current price can stay like this or even go down further. weakest hands will probably get shaken out before moving up.

Is there a final batch of US Marshals silk road Bitcoins due to be dumped auctioned, or have they already dumped auctioned the lot? Quite often the price crashes a bit when they announce another aucton, and the last one was ages ago.

as far as i know all seized coins are already auctioned. people don't know if the coins are sold for a premium or below market price. that's mostly a reason for a small dump.
3689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World's Biggest Bitcoin Holders on: June 04, 2015, 12:42:35 AM
There is an entire website that lists which addresses own the most Bitcoin. You can find it here: http://bitcoinrichlist.com/top100.

bitcoinrichlist.com showed also high listed adresses that turned out to have no balance anymore. not sure why they don't update it regularly.
3690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big crash tomorrow! on: June 04, 2015, 12:38:13 AM
Big crash will not happen tomorrow.

It's happening since 14 months more or less.

After bubble, price was stable within 600-650 USD for months, then it was slowly, slowly, slowy decrease.

All begun last june 2014.

there won't be a big crash from this point. it might go below $200 for a very short time, but that's it. after that we'll see the price increase further.

3692  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be the BTC price next 48 hours? on: June 03, 2015, 03:36:03 AM
op could better ask us what we think the price will be in a week. comming 48 hours nothing will happen. it's just too short, price will go up or down $3-$5 bucks.
3693  Economy / Speculation / Re: We have become cautious on: June 03, 2015, 03:32:57 AM

3694  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Firms Investigating Bitcoin "Tech" on: June 03, 2015, 03:28:33 AM
nothing new here as they have been saying that they are looking into the blockchain technology with great interest before. i'm sure we'll see them using it within 10 years from now.
3695  Economy / Speculation / Re: Those who purchased at $1000 on: June 02, 2015, 10:13:59 AM
I can't believe that there are still people holding who bought at $1000. I can't figure out why people insist on riding their losses all the way to the bottom. If that's not bad enough, a lot of people then finally give up and sell at the bottom right before a big rally. Makes no sense.

no need to sell. if you sell and the price goes back up again you'll surely feel like a big loser for the second time. holding these coins is the better option.
3696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin points of massive price movement on: June 02, 2015, 10:08:47 AM
i think if the price continues to fall and we don't see any movement upwards, we will see a lot of people sell and leaving bitcoin behind. even if the downward trend is slow i think this would eventually happen.
this is because a lot of them bought in the last few months and hoped for a big profit and their investment has only returned negative profit for them.

and "the point of no return" i think is going to be something below $100 and that is when we will see a massive dumping.

i also think it will dip below $200 but definitely not under $100. that wouldn't be a fair price for bitcoin in its current state.
3697  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is mining worth trying ? on: June 02, 2015, 01:04:20 AM
mining and current price are not exactly the right combination. it's much better for you just to buy bitcoin. it saves you a lot time, hassle and money.
3698  Economy / Speculation / Re: KNC moved all of their 9000+ BTC Today on: June 02, 2015, 01:01:00 AM
why is it so special that a certain party is moving their coins. they most likely did it for security purposes. nothing special to be honest.
3699  Economy / Speculation / Re: Block Halving in 2016 - Boon or Bane for BTC price ?? on: June 02, 2015, 12:57:06 AM
also possible is that we might see the price go down to $170 and after the block halving we end up on the same level as now. which means we're not moving forward.
3700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Slap, slap, slap! on: June 01, 2015, 11:46:15 AM
You guys really don't reallize you're being slapped around by hackers and early adopters. They will keep on doing these 2-5k dumps until the resistance is so low it triggers a cascade. They will buy back at the bottom, wait for you all to pump back the price again in ignorance and repeat.

all your effort of "warning" people goes to waste each time. don't you ever get tired of posting the same? your message is received. we know it by now.
