3683  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-03] Will Bitcoin Continue the Slide Despite Positive Data? on: September 03, 2014, 11:54:41 AM
I genuinely think this is a sell off before a major price rise, this is similar to what happened when we hit $1000 before, hopefully this time the rise will be a real one.
3684  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 03, 2014, 11:37:47 AM
#3. People born in Scotland are split almost 50-50. But voters born in England are heavily in favor of NO (31 vs 69). EU voters (Poles.etc) are favoring NO with 40 vs 60 margin.

Why should anyone from England vote Yes?

Because if you vote yes then you are against empire building and the annexation of independent countries.
3685  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence. on: September 02, 2014, 09:31:06 PM
Hey I'm English and I'd be happy for the scots to be independent, I will also be voting in the EU referendum.

lol.... the EU referendum will never happen. If wealthy nations such as England and Germany secede from the EU, then who will subsidize the parasites? Already there is a lot of strain, after the addition of new members. And moreover, all the mainstream parties in the UK, with the exception of UKIP are supporting UK's membership in the EU.

We've exported almost all our manufacturing to India and China so don't worry about that! Wink

Muslims in the UK have denounced them.

3688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: proposal for inflation for crypto-currencies on: September 02, 2014, 04:51:21 PM
The idea that inflation 'prevents' hoarding and 'encourages' spending is absolutely laughable, I've had to think a bit to figure out this bullshit PR spin they're using but what they're actually doing is forcing people to spend, not encouraging it. They do this by destroying the value of the currency that people are using so much that people have no choice but to fill the pockets of the ones who initiate the inflation in the first place and then those people buy up everything else dirt cheap.

Look at what happened in the last crash, the central banks rushed to the rescue buying everything up at a cheap price to make sure that everyone got in on the scam again to keep things going, I wouldn't be surprised if the next move of these bankers will be to create some kind of global currency to repeat the process all over again and get even more wealth.
3689  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence. on: September 02, 2014, 04:43:19 PM
Somebody in the UK just needs to drive up to Scotland and explain things to them lol Tongue I suppose I could do it but I don't know if they'll even give me the time of day, it also depends on whether the yes vote happens or not.

These include Bitcoin’s inability to act as a medium of exchange or a store of value or act as a unit of account.

I'm not even going to watch this video just based on the description, why the hell should I listen to such a blatant lie?
3691  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Looks to Ban Toasters, Kettles and Hair Dryers to Stem Global Warming on: September 02, 2014, 03:35:26 PM
Until you make the power plants themselves green this isn't going to make a fucking difference, never mind the fact that the Carbon Dioxide produced by living beings completely outweighs anything that the coal and oil industries do.
3692  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 02, 2014, 01:47:37 PM
If you guys think this is bad then there are people who are actively against us even voting on the EU referendum because they're terrified we'll vote differently to how they want, Labour in particular have made comments about this and it just shows you how much they totally despise the public despite them hiding behind nice words.
3693  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 02, 2014, 01:24:36 PM
There is nothing from stopping Scotland becoming a wealthy independent country, it's not landlocked so it has every option of ignoring anything the UK says and trading freely with others. I support Scottish independence and I'm in England! Someone needs to tell the guys in the government over there about Bitcoin.

3695  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA - Federal study on lesbian obesity costs $3 million on: September 02, 2014, 09:37:28 AM
That's more impressive at least, the numbers, but yeah, to be honest, sounds like something a religious lobby would put together to attack homosexuals really especially if there's no links to the actual study, you could just as easily find that amount of data on straight people because obesity rates are at an all time high.
3696  Other / Off-topic / Re: The Fappening link.. (WOW/FAP/NSFW) (DMCA'd :/) on: September 02, 2014, 09:35:00 AM
If I wanted to look at naked people I'd just look up porn which the girls are offering you up willingly anyway. Getting nudes of celebrities just makes me think you're a bit desperate to be honest

What makes looking at porn any less desperate than looking at naked celebs?

Because porn is consensual Tongue
3697  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How superior btc is to credit cards on: September 02, 2014, 09:10:59 AM
As others have said, no charge back risk, small fees, also, one thing people haven't mentioned when talking about Bitcoin very much is that people will not be able to lend more than they have or borrow more than they have, the supply is better fixed than gold because it is on a global network so if somebody random is claiming they have millions of coins you'll know they're lying, exchanges have actually been caught already lying about their trade volume and it's thanks to these systems people were able to spot it almost immediately.

I believe one example I saw was some Chinese exchange startup that was claiming it has thousands of Bitcoin in volume even though it had only been up a few days.
3698  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there a headphone that can boost Volume? No limit on: September 02, 2014, 08:57:37 AM
Buy a good quality $200 or so headset and you won't need to turn up the volume, people who rack up the volume are clearly overcompensating for the poor sound quality, I think people are nuts to have those ear buds blasting at full volume. Also if you're having to blast at full volume and you can barely hear anything with brand new headphones, you'll need to see a doctor, no joke, you've probably busted your ear drums.

^ I actually did research on this to make sure I was doing things safely while I was working and apparently those closed headphones ones that are really nice quality are safer than going to a club or a concert in terms of decibel noise and MUCH safer than ear buds.

This anger and frustration towards gaming publishers I think started with Sleeping Dogs - it was marketed masterfully and made you really want to experience that kind of a game - but when it came time to pickup and play the game for itself, the reviews made it seem opposite of the marketing efforts - just a bunch of washed up hype that sounds cool as a video game but in reality the mechanics become hollow and leave more to be desired.  Okay I'm off my soapbox I'll go back to looking up what games are available on PS4 (to put together my list of reasons for wanting one), sorry I nagged you guys, I hope Destiny is as awesome as it can be.

LOL that's funny, you think this all started with Sleeping Dogs? It started back in 2003 for me around the time games like Star Wars Galaxies were being released, this is nothing new.

And again, no PC release at launch. Are gaming companier really that afraid of hackers, or could it be that they received funds from Microsoft and Sony for a colsole exclusve launch?

I'll tell you exactly what's happened here, because the gaming publishers and companies hate filesharers so much what they've done to prevent people from downloading it instead of playing their console games they've released the console ones first and then leave it as long as possible before the rage builds up and people either give in and buy the console version or they get the PC version after everybody else has. Or better yet, like some companies are doing they're just going to go fully console and abandon PC users.

The reason they're doing this is because they blame filesharers for all their problems on the PC, when in reality it's just them making shitty products that PC gamers refuse to buy, if they can't even play it for free, a lot of people won't even bother buying it, I know I won't and I'll be glad to be rid of these crappy companies who show no respect to their customers. I think this is the last strategy they have before they'll bitch and moan about how it's all our fault and then go to console.

Amazes me that they're doing it with a game like Destiny though, because MMO's have always been a PC thing, I predict it will be a very expensive failure which they will learn nothing from.
