3702  Economy / Services / Re: Mining Space for Rent (Also if a Good Idea / Bad Idea) on: February 23, 2012, 01:43:06 AM
Yes, rates are $0.10 per KWH.
That's not exactly cheap.

3704  Economy / Services / Re: Need to hire or partner with a programmer for trading alerts based on api on: February 23, 2012, 01:03:30 AM
I can make a C# application that notifies the user based on an API condition (price below x, volume above y, etc.). Is this what you want? Or do you want a email/sms notification service?
3705  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Diablo 3 Beta Battle.net Account on: February 23, 2012, 12:58:13 AM
How much longer does the Beta period last?
Unknown. Blizzard always procrastinates with its release dates.

3707  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: BTCPak - Exchange your Bitcoins for MoneyPak: secure, anonymous and easy! on: February 22, 2012, 11:22:51 PM
What is the advantage is using this over a btc -> paypal service?

PayPal is just one place that accepts MoneyPak for deposit (Serve from American Express), to reload prepaid cards or for bill payment (e.g., Metro PCS).

thanks.

For power, I got myself a Dell 2360 watt power supply from their current-generation blade servers - it cost me $95
That's pretty cheap for a 2KW power supply Shocked. any disadvantages in using this rather than a standard ATX power supply?

inb4 this goes to interest free.
3713  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Expected behavior of 32-bit bitcoind when running on AMD x64? on: February 22, 2012, 12:45:55 AM
It shouldn't matter on windows. syswow64 handles the conversion between the two architectures no problem. If you have lot of ram (over 4 gb), you can try setting bitcoin's data directory to a ram drive. You will be able do download the blockchain in less than 1 hour.
3714  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Diablo 3 Beta Battle.net Account on: February 21, 2012, 11:12:59 PM
There is a difference between posting a link with a lower piece, and deliberately spreading misinformation. Everything that I have posted in other threads are true and substantiated. In contrast, you're posting lies just to get your agenda across. See the difference?

If you don't like it you should lock your thread.
Orly? I bet you're going to pull up one of my quotes. So i might as well do it for you.
Quote
Now you're derailing the thread. That post was in reply to a previous post. This is a PUBLIC forum, so if you don't want your thread to get crapped on, do it coinhunter/realsolid style, and lock your thread the moment you post it.
What I meant by that post is, if you don't want another person's opinion on your thread, do it like coinhunter, and lock your thread. I did not mean that you are free to post misinformation and troll in other people's (non locked) threads. That is the exact reason I made reference to coinhunter. He was not locking his thread because everyone was spreading FUD about soildcoin, he was locking his threads just to suppress any legitimate criticism.

It's like a company holding a press conference. Are they expected to face legitimate questions about their products or conduct? Yes. But are they expected to allow someone to ask a bunch of loaded questions, solely for the purpose of disrupting them? No way. Newsflash: just because your constitution says "freedom of speech" doesn't mean you can go around and defame other people.

tl;dr: there's a difference between deliberately posting lies (trolling), and simply informing potential buyers. Your "retaliation" is hypocritical because you're "retaliating" with intent to cause more damage than me.

so you'll pay OVER market price?
3716  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 20 BTC for Interac at the market price - lots of references on: February 21, 2012, 10:37:05 PM
I'm in need of 4 bitcoins, but would prefer to pay via Paypal.  If you're interested in doing this let me know, naturally I'll send first. Your references plus our many transactions in the past make this no problem at all. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64799.0
He's most likely offering at market price because interac has no chargebacks.

3718  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: PayPal for BTC Exchanger on: February 21, 2012, 05:06:01 PM
I am not using that amount. and if you don't want to go first - noone makes you to, i'll just wait till someone decides to do that first step since he's not risking anything and i'll get more customers on frequently basis.
going first, even with paypal is pretty risky. especially if you tell the buyer to start a dispute and cancel it.

OK. I can't find an official statement from DealExtreme saying that they operate a no-stock business (or JIT). However, here is a link to another forum where many members mention that they do this:

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?156479-How-does-Deal-Extreme-work

Last link I posted also mentions this in many places.

Its 3:00am here, maybe tomorrow morning I will post a link that shows an official statement. Having worked with DX many times as I used to buy laptops and mobile phones in bulk from China, I know its true and clearly remember them making a blog post that even showed the process at different stages.
Oh look, someone is selectively choosing evidence. One of the oldest argument techniques for butthurt people. lemme guess, did you look up "dealextreme no stock business" on google?

Also,

Return address obviously would still be DX's. Postal permit, if you mean the customs declaration, almost all chinese websites use the same declaration, I bet you it was signed by the elusive Brad or Tom wasn't it? Those are the two main names these guys use for some reason.
No, postal permit is the sticker/stamp/mark placed on a package indicating that the postage is paid for by an business account, rather than standard postage. Like the business reply letters that you don't have to pay postage for. If they all have the same packaging, the same return address, and the same postal permit, CHANCES ARE, they're shipped from the same warehouse.
3720  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Diablo 3 Beta Battle.net Account on: February 21, 2012, 03:47:24 AM
Beta keys are stored server-side and encrypted & are not based on an algorithm.
So it is just as possible to obtain those by keygens or illegal means as it is to obtain WoW or other Blizzard game time; Impossible.

The client is worthless without the account.
+1
I'm lazy and too nice to ruin a thread, and no nothing about video games so its a bad one to pick, but I assume that this BETA can be obtained illegally somewhere on the internet. I don't want to provide links to copyright infringing material though.
Maybe you shouldn't try to bomb someones thread when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
Cheesy
