3701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 19, 2022, 11:06:15 PM
Silker is a Twitch streamer and would use his influence & position to ask for money from his viewers, other streamers, friends, etcetra. Then he would gamble away all of this borrowed money on sports betting. Mostly tennis matches lol

Here's a tweet by Jake Lucky on this https://twitter.com/JakeSucky/status/1571309473402355712

Twitch has turned into a cesspool of gambling addicts and gambling pushers. Do you think it's a responsible content creation & moderation on a platform which is used by teens, kids, and young adults?

Will this be the straw that will finally break the Camel's back and will force Twitch to ban gambling streams?
I hope it does.

It's gonna be tricky though, I try to search for the keyword gambling in their TOS and nothing comes up,

https://www.twitch.tv/p/en/legal/terms-of-service/

But it says:

Quote
xvii. use the Twitch Services for any illegal purpose, or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law or regulation, including without limitation laws governing intellectual property and other proprietary rights, data protection, and privacy.

So it seems that there is no clear violation as far as their TOS goes for this gambling streamers. And if the company is making millions if not billions due to the crypto boom, then it might be very hard for them to just shut it down. And for sure if they do that, there could be another streaming services that will pop up and then the cycle continues. Unless they are going to review first those live streams and then stop it right away before it got views.

Although this is not the first time that they have to do with something illegal if I'm not mistaken. There was some controversies about the "skins gambling" in CS:GO.
3702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 19, 2022, 10:44:20 PM
This is the final result of the poll

Who do you think will prevail in this fight?
Canelo Alvarez   - 14 (31.1%)
GGG   - 30 (66.7%)
Draw   - 1 (2.2%)
Total Voters: 45

66.7% of us did not believe that Canelo can beat GGG this is one of the times that the majority of members of the community failed to accurately predict the winner, and I'm one of those members Cheesy I overlooked the determination of Canelo I rely on their recent performance in which Canelo lose by unanimous decision and GGG won by a knockout.

Perhaps the majority voted for GGG to win because,

1. We think that he was robbed in the first fight, and so we wanted him to win. So our votes might be based on our emotions
2. Canelo lost to Bivol
3. GGG won against a tough fighter in Murata

But in the end, Canelo beat GGG in the score card and there was no knock out/down. And both acknowledge each other greatness after the fight, and there are respect. And again, GGG says that he will continue to fight and he will be mandated by the WBA to fight Lara at 160 for the belt. And Canelo going to the person who gave him his second pro lost.
3703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: September 19, 2022, 10:24:24 PM
^^ It boils down how financially the fight will be, and of course there is the part of the network, whether the boxers are tied and exclusive with the big networks like DAZN, Sho and ESPN. And the boxing promoter themselves, if they can sit and talk about business.

I think in this case, and if we are going back to the original plan, it was supposedly Loma (TR) that Kambosos is going to fight. And when Loma back down, TR has to find a replacement and it just so happen that they have Haney in their stable. So the fight happen without any glitch. But for example, George wanted let's say Tank Davis to be his opponent, it might take some time because they have to negotiate again. And since the venue is already set and Arum offered Haney and he accepted and Kambosos accepted him as replacement, then it is easily made.
3704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 19, 2022, 10:03:18 PM
~snip~

Hehehe, for sure the brothers can offer Manny a fight, as someone suggested in a catch weight and it could generate huge money for both of them. I don't think Manny is hard to negotiate though, so it can be made as long as the money in the table is very attractive.
Yeah, I also think that Manny could easily accept the offer that they might do if there's really a good and interesting amount for Manny. Since he's all into his businesses now and these exhibitions, he could give time and entertainment with a good talent fee on the side.

As far as the chances of the Paul brothers getting knock out, maybe they can put it in the contract that Manny should take some brakes. Or at least they will have to survived the whole fight just like in the Floyd vs Logan wherein there is no winner and Floyd at times has the change to knock him out but he didn't pull it.
Ohhh, Yeah. Very likely since they're the ones who makes contract, they can put those conditions that could favorable to them. But, I'm thinking if they'll put it on the contract on who's going to be a winner then and if they'll include it that it should them.

If there's a clause like that, I don't think that Manny will be obliged.  Tongue

and that is the major reason why it is not advisable to bet on exhibition fights. they may have some prior arrangements that their fans don't know of. it may be entertaining to watch but betting good amount of money is not recommended on this type of boxing fight. judges can easily make it as a draw even if there is a clear winner inside the ring. but i can agree that there will be boxing fans that are willing to pay for gate ticket if manny will again decide to show up inside the ring.

He will have to follow that clause in the contract, otherwise, Manny might not get his money.  Grin. So whoever one of the Paul's he fight, they won't get knock out and so their hype will continue.

And I do agree that it's hard to bet on this exhibition fight because some of them might be rig. Again, another good example is Tyson vs Jones. When they have the exhibition, Tyson was the favorite, but the fight ended in draw when it was clear that Iron Mike should at least won this fight. But the judges see it as a draw. And so fans are in a uproar about the decision and that there are speculations that the fight is set up to be a draw in the beginning and there will be no knock out.
3705  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bear Market thread on: September 19, 2022, 09:48:39 PM

Yes, most likely bear market parin tayo this year, katulad na katulad ng nangyari nung 2018.

If I remember it correctly, noong 2018 din yung year na nag ATH ang BTC for around p900,000 pero nag crash ito after a few weeks and months.

Since bear market talaga ngayon, I really recommend din na kung may sobra kayong pera, bumili and HODL ito for long term.

Or least learn how to accumulate bago matapos ang taon na to at simula ng 2023.

3706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 19, 2022, 04:19:32 PM
Right now I see things very complicated, especially for betting, I have seen how many people wait for the statistics, to give themselves a guide of what they can do, but who can the money and will risk it is ourselves as bettors, I in In case I do my personal research, that includes doing research online, interviews, something you may have seen, maybe some kind of training videos, everything that has to do with boxers.

Is that statement of yours referring to betting in this particular right?

There's no need to complicate everything. Research about this fight is nonsense as the result is very clear. Depends on the betting line, I doubt bookies will open a betting for Inoue winning by TKO in a matter of 6 rounds with decent odds.

Odds for Inoue winning by TKO in the early rounds maybe will just be around 1.4 - 1.5.

I agree, the line for the over/under might be at 7.5 rounds, but it will be the odds that are going to be interesting, but I believed it will be like that 1.4 - 1.5 as we all know that it's hard to stay for at least 6 rounds because of Inoue's punching power. So the odds that the bookies are going to offer the under is low, and we will be lucky if we get that kind of odds. And this fight is not going to be complicated, on the contrary, I'm seeing that maybe a few will skip this fight and would rather just enjoy it as it is. Yes, it's for the unification at bantamweight, but the level of the boxers are very different, Butler's chance of winning is very slim.
3707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 19, 2022, 11:27:55 AM
^^ I wouldn't call it humiliating to Westbrook though, and he should embrace it. Having someone like Dennis to play guard when he is having a bad night. So at least there will be alternatives as he is solely their point guard last season. So it might be change on him, perhaps coming off the bench. So there will be a lot of experiments on coach Ham, on how he will have to find the perfect fit in this new Lakers.

Technically, he won his beat so he beat the online gambling platform, hehehehe. So congrats to your beat.

But if he meant that he beat the house or bring it down, then it is a different story, I also won the same fight, as I was into that sports.

Nevertheless, the OP should have follow the discussions in this board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5400062.0.

3709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 19, 2022, 10:45:10 AM
Yes, we don't really know what the exact split are, unless it will be reveal later. But the point is that Crawford has agreed already on what should be the split in principle. Each legal representative is just going to iron out things including the rematch clause, where it mentioned that the winner will get the lion share in the rematch. So this is also one of our wish list for sure, as this could be a unification bout in the 147 lbs division in the last 10 years. And this I'm not sure, Crawford unified the 140 lbs, and if he wins against Spence, perhaps he will be the first man to do it in two different weight classes.
3710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 19, 2022, 10:22:40 AM
Zurdo is also motivated by the thought of avenging his fellow countryman Canelo.

Not true. There's no way Zurdo has a thought to avenge Canelo from Bivol. I don't see how he will do that as he has his own legacy.

Zurdo was even disappointed with Canelo as the latter is not giving him a chance to fight him because Canelo doesn't want to fight his fellow countryman.

And for Mexicans, there's no avenging thing or stuff. During the time their boxers are beaten badly by Manny Pacquiao, those Mexicans are fighting to have a big achievement by defeating Manny, not to avenge their fellowman that got beaten by Manny.

Fight for the money that's the thing. Manny Pacquiao was once the biggest draw in boxing and whoever he fights will have the chance to earn the biggest purse of his career and the same with Canelo and if ever you got the chance to beat these superstars in boxing it will boost your stocks just like Jeff Horn when he defeated Manny and Bivol when he defeated Canelo.

Right, all roads lead to Canelo now, that's why everyone wanted to fight him and win in the lottery. And you will see that those previous opponents says that they are going to beat Canelo but the opposite happened. And we might say that they completely take a dive, just to check that paycheck hehehe.

If Canelo will win tonight's fight, that would be an added motivation for Bivol since he knows that he could earn more during the rematch with Canelo.

Bivol will double his money if he fights Canelo again because he already beat him. But for sure he is going to watch this fight and see if there is that much difference in Canelo when he last fought him.

We cannot really blame them because having a fight with Canelo will also mean that your pockets will balloon because of the revenue that the fight can generate. Also, because of that fact, Canelo is already viewed as a trophy that they'd risk to get because defeating Canelo will indeed lift their names but unfortunately, defeating Canelo is hard to do and only a handful of boxers managed to do it.

Yes, as I have said, Canelo winning against GGG proved his greatness again, so even Eubanks who is campaigning at 160 is calling Canelo now, or Benavidez, who also wanted the fight and says that Canelo is avoiding him. And then you will hear noises saying that Benavidez has a fighting chance because he is younger than Canelo, but we will see. No one has really put a dent on Canelo's chin, even Bivol at 175 lbs can't crack Canelo's chin. So it will be very hard from anyone in the 168 lbs to break Canelo at this point. He is still in his prime, so the best move for him is Bivol, he just need to win his fight against Ramirez to set it up next year for his biggest payday.
3711  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: September 19, 2022, 08:02:15 AM

Kaya kaabang abang si Westbrook ulit sa Lakers this coming season, and then balik is Dennis Schroder sa kanila.
3712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Few crypto thoughts of the day on: September 18, 2022, 10:32:00 PM
1. The minimum deep that BTC dived to was 17,500$ do you still think we are going below 13,000$? If yes please explain.
2. Does it matter if you build a crypto portfolio at 15k per BTC or 10k per BTC.
3. In 2020 covid was the reason why BTC crumbled to 3,500$ what will happen in 2023 that will bring the same deep dive to crypto market.
4. Crypto keeps looking stronger every year, it's getting more recognised and big players of the world are saying BTC is a better store of value than the dollar for long term, are they right.

I think this is very different situation though, we don't have the covid-19 or at least the whole have somewhat manage to control it with vaccine. But the biggest noise we have this year is the war in Europe, although there could be signs of it being in a stand still, it has put a dent on every world's economy as there are shortage of fuel oil and then food supply is dwindling. Inflation rate is everywhere, and so we are in a recession similar to 2018.

As for crypto, it's obvious we are in a bear market, BTC hits lowest low of $17,500 but we don't know if we can do lower than that this year. And this crypto winter will continue up to next year 2023, so we better be ready for it and take advantage by continuing to accumulate as much cheap BTC and other crypto as we can.
3713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 18, 2022, 10:11:07 PM
That's why I believed he can still fight anyone, but would rather test exhibition matches first. The money is there for sure as he still has a lot of boxing fans around the world, not just Filipinos that for sure will watch his fight against the South Korean youtuber.
He can still fight but having that thought of doing other priorities will make him less than with the best that he can. Manny can still make a lot of money with his fame and body through his age but I agree just for these showmatches and not with pro anymore.

And what if the crazy mind of the Paul brothers would come to that point that any of them would invite Manny to a showmatch and sure, it will make him a lot of money to be honest. More than probably the usual amount he's getting from his pro matches.

For sure, maybe the Paul brothers are just waiting for Manny to make a comeback and then invite them to a fight. But not sure about the weight though, in any case we will have to see.

Regarding Manny's focus, I do believed that he is focus on his fight with Spence that time and there was no distraction on his political side. He even asked the grace of Senate that he will take a leave of absence so that he can concentrate and bring glory to the Philippines again by fight Spence. But we all know what happened next, it was Ugas who beat him next and then he decided to retire.
That unexpected turn of event and change of opponent probably really got him. Only a few time left for his preparation to go along with Ugas and that has led him to that loss.

There is still a lot of things that he can do now, the record that he's got will never change and it's stick to the history. He's one of the respected boxers in the world and he has made a lot of admiration not just for him but also for his country.

But that will be interesting if these brothers try to offer something to him for an exhibition. I think they can afford him since they've afforded the other opponents they've challenged. Well, they have to remember, he's a real boxer though.  Cheesy

Hehehe, for sure the brothers can offer Manny a fight, as someone suggested in a catch weight and it could generate huge money for both of them. I don't think Manny is hard to negotiate though, so it can be made as long as the money in the table is very attractive.

3714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 18, 2022, 09:53:54 PM
With the news that Russell Westbrook will be coming off the bench this year most likely, I’m wondering who is going to be the starting PG for the Lakers. I think Dennis Schroder is the better player, but they’re paying Pat Beverly like 10x as much. If Dennis Schroder is the starter, I wonder if there’s another example of a starting PG making 20x less than their backup (Westbrook). That’s a pretty good sign of terrible team management unless the starting PG is on a rookie contract.

It will be Dennis for sure, maybe that was the plan why they got him in the first place, him the starting PG and then they will have the luxury now to have Westbrook coming from the bench. So it might be a big chance for WB, but if it will do good for the Lakers then it's worth giving a try. Pat might be used sparingly as a PG, but if there is someone that needs to be played defense in the opposite team then that is Pat's strong suit, let's say they face the Warriors, then for sure his only task that game is to guard Steph Curry.
3715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 18, 2022, 09:34:34 PM
Ancajas seems doesn't have a medical condition but just struggling to reach the required weight as maybe he is really getting bulky and bigger for his current division. That's why a good nutritionist is necessary and they hired a new one as part of the team that will condition Ancajas until the day of the fight.

I think he has nutritionist in his side if I'm not mistaken, but there could be some lapses, maybe in the training or after the weigh in because it wasn't enough for Ancajas to fully restore his body to prime in his fight night. And usually if a boxer gets cramp along the fight, it means he lacks fluid and this might be the case for Jerwin and that's why his performance was lacking, as if it was a different version of him that we are watching. But in can be corrected though, and that is the good thing for him, make the weight and then recover and replenish his body and be 100% against Martinez. Get his belt back, and if in the next fight, he can't make that weight anymore, go to the next and have another goal of winning a belt for his Filipino fans.
3716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 18, 2022, 09:18:06 PM
^^ Yes, that's one of his biggest mistakes, he didn't let his hands go specially in the early rounds. And it's too late, maybe round 7 when he started to chase Devin, but Haney is already in the zone and comfortable, using his length so that George can't go inside. So if Kambosos will start hot like in the Lopez fight and swarm Haney, then he might have a chance to win. Otherwise, another easy fight for Haney, cruising automatic for a 12 round decision again and a place for a Loma fight next year.
This seems like the only chance that Kambosos has of trying to turn the fight on his favor, if he let Haney to get into the rhythm that he likes then he'll be in complete control of the fight and get an easy win, so he needs to get out there and try to get the win from the moment the bell sounds, now even with that kind of strategy getting the win will not be easy, but at least it will have a small chance to do so while at the same fans he will give the fans what they want.

Yes, one strategy that they might used in this fight and as I had said, Kambosos was successful doing that against Lopez in their fight, even knocking him down. And when Lopez try to rally late, George has build enough lead already. On the contrary, it was a opposite fight plan for him, he was slow and he started to attack in round 7. Maybe Haney's style is too difficult for him, or he really let Devin get comfortable. And even if this is a small chance as we see, at least he will have to try and do it. Instead of looking for a one punch knock out, which might not happen. So he needs to bring the fight to Haney, not that other way around.

Haney is different, he is very technical and he will not make a costly mistake that will make Kambosos capitalize. I think Haney is still gonna dominate here, his quickness and his defensive style is hard to break against a much slower fighter, Kambosos needs to be lucky in order to win here.

I agree, there's no doubt that Haney, because of his high boxing IQ can't make that costly mistake, but if we are in the side of Kambosos, we have to think of ways to win this fight. This could probably be like Floyd vs Maidana, wherein Marcos try to oerwhelm Floyd and become the aggressor throughout the fight and almost pull an upset in their first fight. He really put Floyd in the corner, did some him some dirty, (hitting below the belt, hitting him when they are about to be break up by the referee and others..). Not saying that he Kambosos should do that, but he needs to step us his game and throw more punches and not let Haney be in his sweet spot in this fight.

3718  Economy / Economics / Re: Savings during inflation on: September 18, 2022, 03:30:30 PM
Many people are late in saving and investing, most people are wasteful when they have money and large income, but when inflation is important is saving and making a lot of investment, when inflation is of course many things that are difficult to predict so that with saving then we can save finances.

Of course, it is being to start very young in investing, you will have a lot of advantage. Obviously, time will be in your side plus you can retire early with good amount of money as compare to people who have invested very late and even if they double what they want to invest.

You can't trust fiat enough to stand as a strong hedge over inflation. Any amount cooling in the bank is never the owners because the government can decide to do what ever the wish to it when ever the chose to. Investing is Bitcoin since 2020 would have given more value to your fiat and also increased your purchasing power

It's no secret that saving your money in a bank won't beat inflation. You have to find a better method, you can either invest in in physical assets like real state, or like the majority of us here, bitcoin is the better choice, It could be very volatile, but in the end, you will make a lot of money and won in this inflation as compare to just keeping it a bank.

If an invisible Elites decides to buy $24 billion dollars worth of Bitcoin and Bitcoin price rise to $30 k or $40 k , how many people do you think will buy more Bitcoin?

There is this phenomena we called FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), so for sure when the price rises, there will be set who doesn't missed it so they ride and maybe push the price ever further.

Or how many people will sell to cash quick thinking in 6 months times Bitcoin price will fall bellow $10k ?

They could be the same person who wanted to push the price to $30k, and they could be the first one to sell as well for quick profit because we are still in the bear market. I know it doesn't sound look because it's clearly manipulation, but this is the market we live in, decentralized and so anyone with enough money can move it to the direction they want and they make a ton of money.

I'm thinking, what if Westbrook will fail again and Dennis will provide what the team needs from Westbrook? For sure, he will get a big reward for that, will be offered will a big contract while Westbrook is gonna be up for a trade. It's weird but it's possible as Dennis is just a consistent player, more if he is given more minutes.

It looks like the Lakers' management is obviously up to something. At least for me, it was a surprise that they first announced the signing of Beverley, and now they decided to sign Schroeder as well. So the Lakers have a lot of point guard players on the roster right now. I guess the Lakers will either trade Westbrook or keep him but reduce his playing time significantly to use Beverley and Schroeder more.

I think it will still be Westbrook to play the PG with Schroeder, Pat might be used for his defense and to be a the main point guard. It Lakers are not going to used Westbrook then they will used him very often, just like last season wherein he plays a lot of games and minutes, but not enough to help the Lakers because of injuries and players under performing. At least if Westbrook is not playing good at PG, then they have Dennis to replace him, and who knows, he could provide instant scoring as Dennis can adjust to their new coach very easy.
