3722  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could someone provide evidence that the majority of Russians aren't insane? on: August 31, 2014, 03:35:42 PM
In their own words, those attending the Atlantic Council gathering describe the battle for Ukraine being fought to “complete” their socioeconomic consolidation in Europe – this includes “integrating Russia.” Secretary John Kerry at the gathering would literally state:

Our European Allies have spent more than 20 years with us working to integrate Russia into the Euro-Atlantic community.

By “integrating” Russia, of course, Kerry means overthrowing any independent national political order that exists in Moscow and replacing it with one that answers to Wall Street, London, and now Brussels. This can be seen clearly in attempts by the West to replicate its model of “color revolution” within Russian territory itself.

This is a good example of Russian insanity. When "The West" talks about integrating countries into its community, they are talking about opening up trade restrictions and expanding economic relations, mainly between private companies. When the Russia hears about integration, they immediately think "imperialistic expansion and installing puppet governments." Because that's what the Russia's policy itself is, or was, most of the time. (Sure, USA is guilty of that too at times, but USA is not the entirety of "the west")

Riiiiiiiiiight

Oh well in that case no wonder, to me I think private tuition is the way to go, but I learned all my history and economics looking through stuff on the internet, there's tons of resources if you know where to look, I've posted stuff up myself. I don't know what your teacher had planned giving you a book like that but making the legalisation and criminalisation of certain goods in an economy always drastically affects the price, since there are a hell of a lot of drugs either highly restricted or made illegal pharmaceutical companies make millions off essentially state sponsored trade.

He's a... strange teacher. I found out the sole reason he assigned the book over the summer (other than of course getting us to read). I brought it up to him that I had come across Aldous Huxley while doing some research on psychedelics (of course I didn't tell him specifically what I was trying to find...haha) and he told me that I had found the reason he assigned it. He just wanted to see if other students would look more into the book or author and get the wow factor as to why he assigned it.

lmao strange and crazy teachers are always the best because they always use unconventional means to teach Tongue

You get taught economics in high school? Consider yourself lucky to be taught anything or get to read anything interestng! All we got in my school were stupid incorrect snippits of what governments wanted us to believe in like "They printed money to help boost confidence in the markets but it didn't work" bullshit, got taught some basic history about what happened in vietnam and stuff but that's about it.
3727  Other / Off-topic / Re: Should I update to windows 8/9? on: August 30, 2014, 08:19:40 PM
Yes Windows 8.1 is faster but don't forget that it's also more secure than its predecessors.

Fuck off >_>
3728  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ‘Ring of steel’: NATO summit turns Welsh cities into massive open-air prisons on: August 30, 2014, 08:17:54 PM
What if we locked them in and let the regular folks out?

Sounds like a fantastic idea, we just need to get the police on our side or find a way round them, maybe lock the police in with the politicians?

I thought you guys might be interested to know that I was doing some research into Ukrainian Anarchists awhile back and if any of you noticed I found the Autonomous Workers Union who look to me to be Anarcho-Communists of sorts, thought it might be an interesting read because it looks like they're still out there and they're resisting both Kiev and the pro-russian groups.
3730  Other / Politics & Society / Re: More Americans Think the US Does too little to Solve World Problems on: August 30, 2014, 07:19:55 PM
Yet again, you scroll past all the bullshit percentages to find the real number of individuals taking part in these political polls and it is 1501 people and this article is trying to claim that the opinions of 1501 people are representing an entire country of http://www.census.gov/popclock/ . This bullshit seriously needs to stop and political newspapers and groups needs to stop butchering mathematics for their own ends, no wonder none of them have any real solutions to the economic problems we face.

Does anybody here for example seriously believe that going into Iraq and even Syria to fight ISIS on the ground would amount to anything other than pissing off the people there even more?

3733  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama: Media makes you think ‘world is falling apart’ on: August 30, 2014, 04:28:09 PM
For once Obama has a point. The media over hypes alot of events, both mainstream and entertainment sites like this one. The one real threat though is ISIS, nobody can deny this.

What are they going to do? Shout insults at us over the internet and post graphic images? Seriously though I know the threat but they know as well as we do if they actually came over here and tried to attack the world would stomp on them, even Russia would probably think about doing it at this point and I don't think people realise but China is actually very close to the whole Iraq/Afghanistan war.

I don't know what we'll do about ISIS but when even Al Qaeda doesn't like them you know they won't be around for long, even Anonymous are taking up the fight against them.
3734  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making gold from glass on: August 30, 2014, 03:56:18 PM
Mining gold from Asteriod is more feasible than creating gold from a glass. That video is nonsense.

Finally! People are coming round to my way of thinking! Tongue
3735  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making gold from glass on: August 30, 2014, 02:57:09 PM
Never knew that Lepirate thanks! I suppose it should be possible because we've made artificial diamonds before haven't we?

Changing elements is a lot tougher and different than changing state.

Wouldn't know about that as I'm just a Jeweller and have an interest in minting my own coins and bars Tongue I'm not a chemical expert Cheesy

Those fuckers better not try pulling this shit in MY town and I hate living here! lol! I'll probably end up making an alliance with all the chavs and crazies to take them down, this reminds me of a school I was in where they had fences that high and they were clearly there to just trap everyone inside, in fact I think they were higher, definitely made me think it was a prison.

p.s. Definitely going to Japan now, this country is starting to look like the V for Vendetta movie which I only recently watched Tongue
3739  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making gold from glass on: August 30, 2014, 11:54:05 AM
That's the thing, I think they're exaggerating what it can do they probably can't make that much money off it without buying up lots which will be why they claim they need funding, I don't understand the whole glass thing though this seems ridiculous, a bit like collected gold/silver dust when you're a Jewellery, if the Gold/Silver price is that high dust is valuable you shouldn't be selling it for paper currencies, better to just melt the stuff down into bars or coins and trade it directly with people.
