We're still alive and we haven't ran off with any "reservations" just yet for those worried. Some of the allegations are slightly amusing but quite a few relevant points were made. It seems like it won't be worth the hassle in securing escrows in the first place if we have to deal with the same folks for the next 5 months if we're able to go without escrows or deposits in general.

The reason we've been absent from the forum for the past few days this weekend is so that we could spend some time going over the latest simulations of our main design from our verification partners and weighting our options (same reason why we haven't requested any escrow deposits yet).

Details will be released when we deem it ready to be published, in the meantime if you have any questions please do contact us directly or simply wait for further updates from us.

Let me be the first to say its nice to hear your still alive and sorry about the "problem children" of this forum.  Excited to hear of developments and updates and appreciate a word from you to let us know that things are still on track.

Please do not get discouraged at some individuals for being trolls, they are here and will always be here and there is nothing that can be done about them unfortunately.  Some of us are happy to be in line for your product and are looking forward to what will eventually come.  I really hope that you do not back away from the escrow idea, that is one of the main reasons coupled with the difficulty insurance that I went with your company.  It is nice to have a refreshing idea among all of the preorder scams and failed attempts at delivery dates with no way to get your money back that are offered by some other companies, plus it might hurt your reputation to originally say that you will provide escrow, and then when its time to pay, all of a sudden say, no escrow.

Just my 2 cents, hope development is progressing nicely, cant wait to hear more and have a great day Smiley
3723  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: August 26, 2013, 01:05:18 PM
so what are we doing about the fact - that at their current delivery pace - not even our first batch will be shipped for at least 2 months - and no compensation has been offered ?

I don't think anything will be offered.  The problem is we only have visibility on some of the earlier batches to be shipped (zefirs batch 1+2, etc.). A lot of batches went to private buyers (see spreadsheet) and were not group buys through this forum.  I agree with kazarko here, I think that at the current pace of shipping (which we only have a partial view on) that people in this G/B should start having units in their hands from mid-Sept onwards.  The next week or two will be telling though and will help us predict this more accurately.  I am pissed about the delay, but there is little that can be done only wait!

This is what I am starting to think, they shipped another group buy order, to settle down the masses, and are now back to not shipping anything as it would seem.  If they were really shipping 40 to 50K a day, then more of Zefir's batches should have shown up by now.

Notice how when the 2nd batch shipped, people fell silent and stopped saying bad things about Avalon for a week or two.  Well since then, we havent seen or had confirmation of any more orders shipping.  It seems that they shipped one more order just to appease people, then went back to not caring.

This really pisses me off, I half want a refund (yes I understand the controversy here), but I am also pissed that I bought these off a guy at .115 ea, so a full refund would net me a 6Btc loss.  But at this point I would seriously be considering such a move as we are losing more and more return potential by the day.  Of course this is based off of the assumption that they would provide a refund which also makes this a mute point since they probably won't.  So I guess I just have to assume that I am out 23 Btc till shipping and then 12 or so to turn them into boards, with little hope of making half of that back.

F'ed up if you ask me.
3724  Economy / Goods / Re: (WTB) Some kind of Tablet on: August 25, 2013, 08:06:30 PM
I am thinking of either a Nexus 7 or an Ipad, know any places that sell those, I didn't see them on bitcoinstore at all?
3725  Economy / Goods / (WTB) Some kind of Tablet on: August 25, 2013, 06:41:17 PM
Forum Members,

I am looking to buy a tablet with Bitcoins, I am not sure what kind of tablet I want, the only thing I know is that it must be brand new and in the box.  I will use escrow, and funds can be released once I confirm receipt of the tablet.

Please post which tablet you would be offering (full specs please) and what you would take for it with shipping to 66221 KS, USA.

Thanks for your time, and if anyone has any advice on which tablet to get, please reply as well as I am not sure what I want yet.

Alright opinions are changing.  Xcrowd, you need to come in here and make some sort of "I am not dead" announcement, with some of the big questions answered.  If not by Monday I will have completely changed my mind on the validity of this company.
3728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] xCrowd*US/UK*TH/s+ Units on: August 24, 2013, 03:40:29 PM
Well from what I understand, someone was saying that there would be news within 48 hours, which came from an email from them.  From the timestamp on that post till now has been about 42 hours.  I would say to wait withholding judgment for another 6 to 7 hours or so, and then we can see where we are then, with or without reply.

3732  Economy / Computer hardware / (WTS) 200 Avalon Chips from SebastianJu Group Buy #2 on: August 23, 2013, 04:28:56 AM
I bought 200 Avalon chips off of a guy that was in on SebastianJu's group buy #2, and I am gauging interest in these now that things seem to be shipping, since I would like the funds available for another project.

I paid .115 per chip, and will be looking at offers for partial or all of the chips.  You can either PM or respond in the thread with your offer.

Thanks for your time,

Debit

P.S. - full escrow is available through SebastianJu if wanted.  He can also prove that I own the chips.
3733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] xCrowd*US/UK*TH/s+ Units on: August 22, 2013, 08:33:20 PM
I do not think there is enough evidence to label as scammer yet, but there are definately some things that need to be answered.

1) Where has xcrowd gone?  It seems he has been on the forums, but has not replyed to anyone or anything in a couple of days.  Has he been replying to emails?

2) Why does the link to the xcrowd forums not work on the website?  I had not checked if they were ever up if anyone can confirm if they were or not.

3) John K. confirmation that he is indeed working with xcrowd to provide escrow services for these products.

4) An employee list, when looking at the website it only seems like one person works there according to crowd sourcing website that is linked at the bottom.  Are there more employees?  Are they being hired?  This seems pretty important as one person certainly cant manage this by themselves. (and yes I see that he has job postings out, but is anything being done with them)

5) A business plan.  So far we have heard dates, how about something a little more concrete as far as a plan for the future?

I am sure I am forgetting something, and will update this post as it comes to mind with other questions that I have.  Please guys, lets not spread FUD and wait for an official word from xcrowd about the above questions, if you have others you want added, then please PM me and I will add them, so as not to burry these questions here.

Thanks,

Debit

And, if I decide to take the difficulty insurance (if it rises by that much) and order a second unit at half price.  Where does the second unit go into the waitlist?  Will I get it with my original unit that was ordered, or will it be tacked on at the end of the waiting list?

+1

Maybe we could also address these concerns on their forum: https://www.xcrowd.co.uk/forum/

They have done a good job of getting things answered here, if you would like you may go and post it there, I am just trying to make sure a comprehensive FAQ is written up for the first page.  Basically just submitting questions as they come to mind.

Also, what happens if I need to change the address that I chose for shipping?  I am moving into an apartment here in a couple months and will still have access to the original shipping address at dear ol mom and dads, but if I want to change it to the new destination is that possible?

Might I suggest a link to the xcrowd forum post and/or their website?

3740  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] xCrowd*US/UK*TH/s+ Units on: August 21, 2013, 11:55:39 AM
I got a question.  Does the 10% premium when you do the 30% deposit method goes to you right away?

Only 30% of the 10% premium will be part of the initial 30% deposit. For example; on a $1098 Elysium (10% premium included) you would only have to deposit $99 now instead of the extra $330 added.
im not clear.  My question is making sure that no funds whatsoever go to you before shipping.  Yes or no?  Also probably a quick post by John k confirming things would be good too.

That is what I was thinking as well, could we get John K. to post a quick reply stating that he is in fact in coherts to provide escrow responsibilities for these transactions?
