As I am not an über technical user, can you explain to me what is triggering this cloudflare impossible mode? Cloudflare is used to stop DDOS attacks. See theymos' 2017 topic: Moving to Cloudflare. If the DDOS gets worse, Cloudfare starts more measures to stop it. TL;DR: without Cloudflare, the forum would be offline now. From what I've seen, those measures include checking the browser before any page can be accessed. And since scrapers don't use a browser, they can't get through. I guess, to Cloudflare, a scraper looks a lot like the spam DDOS causes. If it is a cloudflare issue, how can Theymos whitelist some IP’s? As much as I dislike Cloudfare, it's not an "issue". It's how DDOS mitigation works. If your IP address belongs to a data center, expect to get blocked by Cloudflare, because datacenter IPs have a higher "threat score" which basically means a spammer is more likely to own one. It's only natural that this is the case, since most ISPs won't allow you to use a residential address as a hammer. My home IP gets the same treatment as any server when I try to scrape a page: Most DDOS attacks come from (infected) personal computers, and not necessarily from servers. |

I don't know if I'm the only one who's frustrated about this cloudflare, since it started I haven't been able to login without being asked if I'm a robot or not Is that on Tor? I just tried, and it's stuck on "Verifying" without any progress. If you're not on Tor and the captcha comes from the forum itself, use the captcha bypass URL. |

Unfortunately, Cloudflare makes more and more websites inaccessible through Tor. If you do not care about your anonymity, you can use your ISP network instead which will also work. People don't use Tor because they don't care about their anonymity: Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity? I'll look into it when I have the time. Update: it works fine, quoting this was enough to start the scan. I don't know why it didn't work when you posted it, at the same day another thread was scraped. Damn, after I complained about the Show All It's throwing cloudflare errors now randomly.
I feel like I pissed off the CF demons, and that's what I get in return. Lol Cloudflare is getting worse and worse in the name of "protecting the internet against DDOS". Somehow they managed to build a business model of spying because of criminals who attack websites. |

i can scrape from other site, no matter for me Get your unedited posts, and get the latest scraped post  Although the first link (2.5 MB) is a bit large for frequent scraping, especially for users with many posts. |

I also received some notifications, but not all.
The problem is intermittent. Sometimes the bots are able to gather the information, sometimes they are not. I can't talk for TryNinja's bot, but my scraper hasn't missed a single post since theymos whitelisted it (yesterday evening). The issue here is that bot creators can't do much more. So we really have to wait for the situation with Coludflare to be normalized. Cloudflare doesn't block the whitelisted bots anymore. |

I wrote this years ago: Neutral (shown as =1) - Use Neutral feedback for anything that doesn't mean someone can or can't be trusted. This can be good feedback, for instance when someone helped you out.
- I think Neutral Feedback is currently undervalued on Bitcointalk. It's a great tool to de-escalate without drastic consequences. Please use it when appropriate.
I've always tried to be conservative with feedback. Before leaving feedback, I like to ask myself: "Does this make the forum a better place?". The last 18 feedbacks I've left, were all neutral. It varies from "this user confirmed he never wants to take a loan" to "Trust abuse", "plagiarized my post", "confirmed owner of xxx" and "chat bot spammer, don't waste time on it". I don't think I hand them out like candy, and I think that's how it should be. |

It doesn't work at all for me on multiple devices which has Tor Browser. In the end, i had to use VPN instead with different browser. Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity? |

Considering that these are already proven add-ons, and very useful for the forum, I assume that both bots always come from the same IP address. So I wonder if an exception can be made just for them so that they always have direct access, probably read-only is enough. I believe that is a question for theymos, not sure how technically feasible it is Jokes on you, theymos already whitelisted our IPs.  Joke's on me: theymos fixed the whitelisting, but my loyce.club server has a new IP by now (also because of a DDOS). I've asked theymos to also whitelist the new IP. At one point in the future, I imagine that full blocks will be the norm, fees will be high and remain high, and people would want larger blocks The problem with larger blocks is that it's not enough for scaling. It will work for a while again, until blocks are full again. Then rinse and repeat. If Bitcoin ever reaches mass adoption and has many users, we'll need several GB per block. At that size, you can't have decentralization anymore, so as much as I'd want to see larger blocks, that's not a long-term solution. |

Since it takes 24 hours to delete a post, everyone should make it a habit to check post history every day to avoid something like this. Only a few boards (such as Services) have the 24 hours rule to delete posts. The Lending board doesn't have this rule. Theymos created https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php to keep track of access to your account. An attacker can't edit those records. |

Before, there was a link sent to me for discord community management, the sender have a link makes a redirect link to other page and the message sent multiple times so i suspected immediately could be an attack, I immediately cleaned my PC for possible preventive attacks, I got confident by that time but my mistake too I didn't change my password Once in a while, I get a "friend request" too. I just ignore those on Discord. What did "the link" do? Was clicking it enough to compromise your system? If that's the case, it's time for a safer browser (and OS)! I've left 2 neutral "no loan" tags so far. If someone ever asks me to remove them, I'll require a signed message from an old staked address, and I'll probably wait for 30 days (a cooldown period). Why wait 30 days after someone has signed a message from an old staked address to remove a tag? A signed message is enough IMO. My tag is just a warning. If someone signs a message from an old staked address, it's up to the lender to decide whether or not he gives a loan. But if someone's computer including access to his Bitcointalk profile and private key gets hacked, a signed message doesn't mean anything. That's why I won't instantly remove the neutral tag, but first add another neutral tag to mention the intention to remove the other tag. You should assume that the person making such a request may be in desperate need of a loan. I disagree. If someone made the explicit statement that he'll never take a loan, you should assume someone else is asking for it, no matter what evidence he shows. The account holder shouldn't be held liable for any loans, that's why he made this explicit statement. I'm not even sure if 30 days is enough: it's not impossible for the account owner to not even notice a new neutral tag during those 30 days. It might be better if someone else adds said tag in that case, so at least the counter goes up by +1. Or maybe I should just leave new neutral feedback permanently, including the dates of start and "end" of the promise not to take loans.
Moreover, there is no password change history for him in BPIP. Maybe the hacker still have the access to mdgabrielzim account. I think sending him a PM isn't going to help in this case. I've left him neutral feedback, asking to respond here. |

You’ll not get a notification for the past non-scraped posts/merits. The bot will only resume from that time and beyond. Considering how long this takes, and how many posts I've missed by now, I'm planning to make a "catch up" scraper: once the forum works again, I can check the latest topics with new posts on each board, and scrape the last pages of all of them until I caught up to the start of the outage. It will mean some redundant scraping, and I won't catch deleted posts, but at least the voids in my archive will get smaller. If I can find the time, I expect it to be quite a lot of work.So all these mess are for Cloudflare?
I thought it had something to do from the forum server side. Usually, this happens because of a DDOS on the forum. As theymos wrote: The Internet is seriously flawed if everyone needs to huddle behind these huge centralized anti-DDoS companies in order to survive... |

It is world wide issue with Cloudflare, not only issue on Bitcointalk. It doesn't look like a worldwide issue to me, the status page just shows some local problems (which I assume is normal).
It's the first time I've seen this take so long Last time, theymos whitelisted my server's IP. By now I have a new IP, but considering Ninjastic.space is down too, the whitelisting doesn't help anyway. |

Edit: it seems some services are down almost for five hours! Cloudflare on the forum is blocking scrapers, mine can't do anything either Once in a while Cloudflare goes into impossible-mode. To test: visit the forum in a private browser window, if you see Cloudflare, scrapers won't work. |
