3741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin be the same if Satoshi wasn't anonymous? on: November 19, 2018, 05:10:32 PM
It would give them grounds to attack Satoshi as a person and every action done by him would influence the price.
Say, you knew who he was and had limitless resources (like a government). You could set him up and make a pedophile or a drug addict out of him. You could make him fall in love with an agent who would report on his activities, or gather dirt. With enough of this dirt you could pass it on to the media and crash the markets. It's better for him to stay anonymous.
3742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin bankruptcy on: November 19, 2018, 05:04:11 PM
Even with the bearish market, bitcoin was keeping in the range of $ 6.3k to $ 6.8k. Now with the loss of support of $ 6k and later approaching losing $ 5k support, bitcoin can approach a large support around $ 4.1k and if not respected can take you at prices unimaginable since reached its ATH.

The price is not only about TA. It doesn't always revolve around supports and resistances. We were going flat at a very strong support of 6000 and had 5800 to breach right below it and we went through like a hot knife through butter. It didn't even take 12 hours to break both levels. Was that pure TA? No, it was whales liquidating their positions, future contracts ending, faketoshi threatening to sell his coins, Jihan switching mining from BTC to BCH.
3743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main reason for the bearish market today on: November 19, 2018, 04:47:07 PM
It’s nothing to do with the SEC & their lack of understanding or accepting that bitcoin is ready for one of their shit ETF’s.

The reason the price is falling down quicker than a cheap hooker getting on her knees for $100 is because of a number of reasons, mainly the shit show that’s currently going on with BCH. Ver/Jihan & CW are all burning bitcoin’s to support their weird as fuck fork civil war. This made the price drop & now it’s filtered down to average joe panic selling which makes the price drop more.

It’s one big fuck up! We’re probably going to have to wait until 2020 for the next big bull run post halving.

The funny part is that while they are doing it the price of BCH is going down even faster than Bitcoin. Also, Craig has much less money than he wants us to think, and his war will leave him bankrupt. For Jihan it's also a fight of last resort because his business is doing bad. He gambled it by leaving Bitcoin for BCH and BCH is now worth 10% of its peak value. It's worth less today than on the day when it launched.
3744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It Takes 9343$ to mine one bitcoin, so no way i am selling it below 12000$ on: November 19, 2018, 04:42:57 PM
I saw somewhere that the cost of mining was estimated at around 6000 USD.
You're doing the right thing by not following the sheep and not selling now. Every Bitcoin Winter ends with it being oversold, sold below the cost of mining and below the money people paid to buy it. This is achieved by people reaching the tipping point at which they say "fuck it all, it's dead, I held but now i'm out." In 2015 it was the period when Bitcoin went below 300 USD and in this market it's below 6000 USD. If you held between 10k and 6k you shouldn't sell now, because you'll regret it.
3745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: HOW BLOCKCHAIN WILL DISRUPT GAMBLING? on: November 19, 2018, 04:31:19 PM
I think the article is missing the point. The most important thing in crypto gambling is that it's never out of reach. It's always close and easy to access for everyone, despite their government's stance, local currency, economic conditions, religion and ethics. Once you have cryptocurrencies nobody can stop you. Your government may want to block you or ban casinos, you can be below the legal age in your country (which is 18 or 21 in some places), and so on.
3746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly advice/warning about gambling in this market on: November 19, 2018, 03:59:54 PM
I'm also gamble on Gold on stock exchange and enforce me to gamble with half amount because the downtrend is too extreme.
Luckily I'm seldom gamble because I'm aware that bitcoin keep decreasing at the moment

Trading with $ and BTC are riskier with $ so I'm suggest to convert into fiat as soon as you get the reward or get paid

That's the worst thing you can do in this market if you look at the current state of Bitcoin. It's extremely oversold and you can see it on the RSI. It actually hasn't been that oversold since 2015. This is the best moment to be buying Bitcoin and the worst to be selling and gambling with it because every loss right now will hit you twice. First time now and the second time next year when it goes back up.
3747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you cash out your bitcoins for Black Friday? on: November 18, 2018, 11:23:16 PM
I'm not planning to spend my coins at such low price. I have my limits. I used to be undecided when we were at 6k USD, but now... Now we're at the lowest point for over a year. We went back to prices from early November 2017, but now we're closer to the end of the month than to the beginning and we haven't jumped back up. Selling and losing opportunity for a rocket to the moon in December would make me sad.
Speaking of Black Friday discounts, Bitcoin is at -80% at the moment. That's what I call a great buy!
3748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This person made $500,000 with gambling and lost it all within 60 seconds! on: November 18, 2018, 10:39:35 PM
Based on my experience, over 99% of the players and bettors do not care to play or bet with consumer protection service inclusive, so why would they care about losing?

I mean if you do not care to drive cars without insurance, do you care about accidents?

I'd guess that is because consumer protection doesn't work in this case. You can't go to an insurance company and insure your bets just like you insure your car. Comparing these two things is a waste of time because you don't roll the dice whenever you turn on the engine of your car. You have some skills as a driver, proven by an exam, and you're putting your life at stake.
The story is a good example of not knowing when to stop. If you keep playing indefinitely you'll always lose. With a 1% casino edge you'll run out of money, lucky or not, you will run out of money after 1 thousand or 1 million bets.
3749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: On what kind of gambling you got maximum reward from betting? on: November 18, 2018, 10:31:34 PM
It goes without saying that the biggest money is in poker. Most people don't even notice it because they don't enter VIP zones. If you play a table where the blind starts at $100 and you go up from there it's a different kind of fun. Don't get me wrong, it's not even a high stake table. At these tables you can play with $10000 and more per blind.
It's not uncommon to see 100k on the table.
3750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Familiar with One Championship? on: November 17, 2018, 12:18:29 AM
Kind of a new site in my vocabulary. Is that a legit one? How's the community?

Anyways I will just checked it. Thank you.

I'll be honest, I've never tried it. I wanted to help you and find a site that supports ONE, and it has actually proven to be a fairly difficult task. I found 2 sites and one of them had no active bets ATM, despite there being 2 ONE events coming up this month, so I did not link it.
Oddspedia looks legit, I couldn't find any scam reports or negative reviews online.

Country/Region:
United States of America
Domain Age:
5 years 6 months

On Thursday, December 04, 2014, an european community trademark registration was filed for ODDSPEDIA by LuckyLabz BG ********, ******** **** **** ****. The OHIM has given the trademark application number of 013526264. The current status of this trademark filing is Registered. The ODDSPEDIA trademark is filed in the category of Education and Entertainment Services .

Of course, test it out with small bets first, as you should always do with sites you don't trust.
3751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Familiar with One Championship? on: November 16, 2018, 07:12:11 PM
https://oddspedia.com/mixed-martial-arts/world/one-championship/

This site allows you to bet on ONE matches, but there's only one available now (on the 17th). If you click on their previous matches, you will see that they regularly add 1 -2 matches per event, so there will most likely be at least one new available after the 17th.
3752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Whats your favorite game? on: November 16, 2018, 06:29:33 PM
I like black jacks and soccer gambling online. I think Black Jack is a game that is very unique and very challenging. whereas online soccer gambling, prediction is very important so we are required to be a football observer and I really enjoy it.

Same here. I'd only add poker to the mix. I like all card games, they're much more complex than simple heads or tails that you bet on when playing dice, roulette or slots.

Poker is my favorite game, poker has become a part of my life. Cheesy

Any big wins? Someone who treats it like a part of his life should have some interesting stories to tell. Smiley
3753  Economy / Economics / Re: Interesting USDt chart on: November 16, 2018, 01:39:49 PM
I think that USDT issues are not related to this fall. Actually when USDT started to have issues BTC gave the impression it have been rising (but it was rising only against USDT, not USD).

Yet on the chart you can clearly see that USDT was losing value to USD and BTC, while BTC was rising against USD.
The loss of USDT value against USD clearly preceded the BTC/USD crash.

Quote
Also, now USDT seems to have been recovering, so it "would" be no reason for BTC to react like this.
It is, and so is the number of longs, but it doesn't change the fact that it could have been responsible, or at least partially responsible for the crash.

Quote
Plus, Bitfinex liquidity / withdrawal issues are not new, I've read that they have issues since August or so (I thought it was USD, not USDT though).

They aren't new, but they tend to reappear at the worst possible moments.
3754  Economy / Economics / Interesting USDt chart on: November 16, 2018, 12:19:14 PM
I've recently noticed this little thing. Might shed some light on the recent price action.

To explain, blue line is USDt/USD chart, orange line is BTC/USD. Note that BTC was slowly rising, but at some point on 13th November our so called "stablecoin" started to lose value to USD to the point where it dragged all cryptocurrencies down. I've seen people say that it's normal for USDt to lose value during a crypto crash, because it's after all another coin, and people are going through it to sell other cryptos, but this shows that it did not go down because people were selling, it went down when the price of Bitcoin was in fact rising. A whole day before the recent 15% crash.

Now, let me put my tinfoil hat on. On the same day, the 13th, we get this: https://cryptonews.com/news/bitfinex-users-struggle-with-fiat-withdrawal-2905.htm
Is Bitfinex messing up the price for us, or is it all just a coincidence?
3755  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lordmancer II - an MMORPG where you can earn crypto on: November 14, 2018, 06:55:38 PM
Interesting. A turn-based combat, big world with a lot of enemies, item crafting, a global store, and of course the ability to sell items for money. I have to play some, although there seems to be a very small number of quests that you can take. There are some that pop up automatically, but the ones that you can get from NPC are very limited. Despite it, the game is good. Is the game Russian? I saw a lot of RU players.
3756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You cannot win in gambling on: November 14, 2018, 06:46:27 PM
Now I am not an expert in gambling but this day was a really eye opener for me, you can never win in gambling. Imagine when you can't win in lotto , soccer betting or whatever you call it, you don't have a chance in slots.
I'm not an expert in gambling too but saying that you can never win in gambling is just bullshit. Maybe you are just saying this because you can't accept your lost. If winning in gambling is impossible then why are many people still gambling right now??
This in fact doesn't prove anything. We all know that some types of food are unhealthy and can lead to diseases but we still eat them. Coca Cola is basically water + sugar + acid and can cause many health problems. Why do millions of people around the world drink it?

Quote
I disagree with you. You can win in gambling. You just need the right ingredients to win like luck, strategy, discipline, etc.

Sure you can, but in the long run you will usually lose due to the fact that 50% bet in a casino is always a 48% or close to it depending on its edge. This means that although you see your winning odds as 50-50 they are always lower.
3757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin right now [Nov 14, 2018] on: November 14, 2018, 06:37:43 PM
I don't see anything out of the ordinary. The 2019 bottom still holds, the 100 Billion market cap is still there. We get dips like this one every 2 months. Bitcoin did a very similar thing on 2 September. Don't panic and don't do something that you will later regret only because in your current view the price is falling like crazy, which is not true. It is moving within acceptable boundaries.
3758  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is falling !! on: November 14, 2018, 06:32:32 PM
Today is very shocking and might panic many people. BTC falls at the price of $ 5770, what do you worry about this situation??

Not on Bitfinex. The lowest point there was 5862, which is above the 2018 low of 5755. All is fine if you ask me the bottom still holds.
I don't worry at all. Some people were saying that 5800 might not be the lowest point of this bear market and that there's a small chance of it going fo 4800 which would draw a perfect bottom according to fib lines, resistances and many other indicators. I don't think it will happen but most of us heard of this theory.
3759  Economy / Reputation / Re: Something fishy going on with ziyush's merit on: November 13, 2018, 10:44:47 PM
It's really not easy to earn merit points even with good content because people with merits don't think its necessary even when they have extra merit points.

<snip>
In my view there are some incentive also for giving merits, if anyone gives merits to low-quality post then he will be punished by losing some of his existing merits points and if he give merits to high-quality post that is helpful for people then he must get a reward for this as well.

Makes sense. Poor guy tried to earn merit in March, but it was so hard, people did not want to merit him because they didn't find it necessary, so he patiently waited, but there was this other thing on his mind.

Best way to earn is By Joining Bounty campaigns and promote them in a social network.

And so his patience run out.  Grin
3760  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-10] Bitmain Sues Mystery Bitcoin Thief Who Hacked Its Binance Account on: November 13, 2018, 10:19:05 PM
He wasted his time, a court won't do anything nor trying to search. And a hacker never uses his own IP as well or he was drunk. I suppose he did it just for the price or he has a kind of insurance. But the case doesn't worth to spend resource on to maybe find someone
Actually, it's possible to trace an IP, that is why TOR was created. Even if he uses TOR it's still possible with enough effort. The question is whether anybody will want to put so much effort into tracing a 5 million thief if it doesn't guarantee that he's going to be caught. Think about it like this. You have some guy in Albania, Bangladesh, or whatever country he was hacking from. You have to ask local authorities to track him down, and by the time you get his IP, the court warrant, contact authorities and get them to respond, he'll be long gone into another country with no extradition. Also, if he's really smart, he was using a public wifi, which would force the authorities to look for camera footage and witnesses. It's a lost cause.
