I know me I will hold off just a bit  to start since prices got very high.  I will most likely start tommorrow

4 am EST
Maybe 5 am Eastern Standard Time.

I am running a placeholder order on my dime. I realized it prevents making a 0.099 order when it should have been a 0.0099 order
if we hit it I will split it.

It is on nicehash order number #385240  on my dime so a bit of a freebie until the big order is fully setup.

our big order is on www.nicehash.com it is for 500th I have 5 shares in.

37546  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May 3rd to May 14th diff thread. Picks are Now closed! on: May 12, 2015, 03:26:11 AM

http://btc.blockr.io/charts

5/ 3/2015    140 blocks----------- that is -   2   since about half were the last adjustment and half were this adjustment
5/ 4/2015    130 blocks----------  that is - 14
5/ 5/2015    154 blocks----------  that is +10
5/ 6/2015    157 blocks----------  that is +13
5/ 7/2015    148 blocks----------  that is +4
5/ 8/2015    143 blocks----------  that is -1
5/ 9/2015    140 blocks----------  that is -4
5/10/2015   122 blocks----------  that is -22
5/11/2015   147 blocks----------  that is +3

we are down about 15 blocks at the moment.

we have made 1213 blocks   -15 means we should be at 1228

So we has a 'real number of (-1.22%)

I wonder if we pop a second 122 block day on monday .    Answer was no we did a 147 block day.

Maybe lots of guys were too busy to mine and were doing moms day instead.

I suspect some variance and I suspect some miners were busy for mom's day.

the current -1.22%  puts me in the lead with about 6 days left.

700 th in 1 day may cost 7 or more btc, compared with 100th in 7days at 6btc

at least it was fun! i was checking http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1CqbvmuJcLFDFzFewKmBVAaghXEtByzY9Y or blockchain.info whenever i had the time  Grin

yeah to be able to do it the price will go up   so maybe 6.5 btc or like you said 7 btc.  maybe as high as 7.34 btc
37551  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 44 blocks solved! on: May 11, 2015, 09:17:51 PM
is it game over over or still time left?
seems like bigger hash rates at short period do the results..?

our second order died.  so 100th for 7 days at the price of 6 coins - 0.19xx in fees = 0

So does renting 100th for 7 days work as well as 700 th for 1 days  should be no big difference

37552  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May 3rd to May 14th diff thread. Picks are now closed! on: May 11, 2015, 09:02:08 PM
My recollection is that when we got down to 1000 blocks remaining, the contest would close to further picks for this round. Do I have that right Phillip? If so, you might want to adjust the title to reflect that further picks are closed.

I can't recall a time when difficulty has just been "bumping along" at a more or less constant value, but I didn't join the mining party until the summer of 2013. Any others recall such a "calm" period?

this will be fixed thanks. and now fixed.

No we are very stable super growth is over.

Basically 2 reasons  asics no longer cut efficiency much.

The 2 watt level s-1 Became the .8 watt level s-3 Became the .52 watt level s-5.

An s-3 in a 8 cent power spot still earns money.

Hash growth is worthless power cutting is not worthless >   This appears to be the new mantra.

I believe the gear exists but that the major players do not want a hash rate war.   If you think a hash rate war hurts a guy like me so what 3-5k in gear. In my case I now own 3 s-3's that's it.

spot rent from nicehash to mine.  So if the big players jack hash up and up and up.  I do not lose much.  I can rent gear or buy coins.

They get cut.    They are not stupid they do not want that to happen.  Just a guess  as to why ,but it is a spec thread Grin

I have done so I also am mining and earning some coins.  I had to open a new account with

https://bittrex.com

as they seem to  do UNO coins.

I will post back on this tomorrow.

I am renting 10th per mmpool account.  I will figure out how many UNO coins I earn.  I spent 0.20 btc in rentals of hash for this from nicehash.
37554  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 10PHs in 1 day vs 1PHs in 10 days on: May 11, 2015, 05:22:32 PM
what has higher chances of finding a block?

complicated.  I would argue  the variables are more complex then the question is.

I would prefer the 10 day 1 ph approach. As with this much hash 2, 3, 4, 5 blocks could be hit.

10 ph in a day  may burn up so quickly you lose out on multiple blocks chance.

Also as others have said flat vs decreasing vs increasing hash rates.

How about a 10 day session gives you more time to see a mistake if one was made.

Also renting 10 ph will push the rental price up

renting 1 ph may not push the rental price up.

A 10 ph rental may attract a ddos attack due to its very big size.
37555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: May 11, 2015, 04:10:30 PM
If you're wanting over 20GH from 10W you'll need to wait for the two-chip stick. It should actually hit slightly better efficiency than the one-chip.
OK :-).
Do you know when the single-chip will be sold, and the dual-chip ?
Even an estimated date ?
Thanks.

No he does not.  As of today he has yet to mail the testing demos to a few of us.

If you want my guess which is worth less.  Here goes.  he mails/ships the tester 1 chip sticks not later then May 21.  We test we like.

So on may 31 he attempts to get a shit ton of chips from bitmaintech.  Since I can not and he can not predict how bitmaintech will be about sending chips.

I will guess the fastest he gets chips is June 14th.

my second entry is for

My controversial design: moved from here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.msg11343104#msg11343104

Would be a  miner that is designed as a usb hub miner but it has 4gb of storage that you can access and program the miner's gui to mine plug n play.

This would mean it would automatically mine in any pc 's usb that you plug it into as long as the pc has an internet connection.  The twister would be it works for 1 hour then turns off for 1 hour.
So that sipping too much juice from the owner of the pc would be prevented. Kind of a do not be greedy governor.

My doge address is D8jxCiXXCPn1fzE3vzywTf9DhPWEv4gtB3

My Ltc address is LMUmaAu2i194Vod4Pr8j3KDBXQ2zTVtiJb

I am still thinking on the most original design.

Hello mmpool,
Unobtanium can now be merged mined.  Authpow kicked in today at block 600k.

We would love to see Uno on your pool. Let me know (pm) if I can be of assistance.

https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium

The merge mining was unfortunately broken. I document a fix here that I confirm works. I'll do a bit more testing then add to the pool officially.

Unobtanium is now in trial on the pool. All users have mined at least once since 2015-03-01 have had an unobtanium address assigned to their account and are accumulating coins now. These cannot currently be withdrawn. Contact admin@mmpool.org or the other contact methods with an unobtanium address to get the default address changed. Withdrawal will then be enabled.

I just sent an email with an UNOBTANIUM address

please let me know how I am doing .
37558  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: SFARDS: “Speaking IMHO”- The Best Miner is…contest, 1 BTC for winner! on: May 11, 2015, 02:18:28 PM
My first entry moved from here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=985400.msg11343009#msg11343009

D8jxCiXXCPn1fzE3vzywTf9DhPWEv4gtB3  = Doge

LMUmaAu2i194Vod4Pr8j3KDBXQ2zTVtiJb = LTC

My entry is as follows:

The ability to scale the miner's watts per gh  rather then flat line  watts per gh , IS really important.

I want a miner that has a huge freq range and a huge volt setting range.
This allows for maximum flexibility for every miner using it.
Cooling and fan speeds need to be able to scale wide. Thus a quiet highly efficient miner is one and the same with a loud high hashing power hungry miner.   Just depends on what you need for your setup you get to set it the way you need it to be.

Lastly  the gui should have 4 or more pools not 3 or less pools. With balanced option or rollover option.
37559  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer or PSU issue? on: May 11, 2015, 01:13:02 PM
what price did it cost?

it is a 1 rail 83 amp psu

3 x 6-Pin, 3 x 6+2-Pin  it has a lot of pcie connectors

looks okay if it was cheap price   It is a bronze psu that means it is a bit power hungry.

It does look like it can run 2 s-3's.

 I figure 1 s-3 at  350 to 450 watts

depends on the clock

37560  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Summer Mining - Fans/Other summer equipment on: May 11, 2015, 01:05:49 PM
I'm still shopping around looking at gable fan's.  I think I can get air moving a lot more then I have at ceiling height.  I'm looking at gable fan's around 3000 CFM to get around 2.5-3x more CFM then current one.

Still shopping around might see if any local hardware stores have coupons.  I don't have any good ones.  On the two big ones I got 50 off 250 so a good coupon.  Nothing like that so far.  I'm all for a good deal Smiley

1.49 for the 50 off 250

I have 0 idea if he is any good.

I can buy one for you if you do not have an ebay account.
