3762  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: September 18, 2020, 03:39:47 PM
Difference between Bitcoin wallet and online bank account?
Depends on which bitcoin wallet is used, it will be better, worse or the same when compare to bank accounts.

Quote
I think it’s unfair to say that digital wallets are better than online bank accounts (though you could probably say they serve the same function.
True. Only non-custodial wallets are better than bank accounts. With such non-custodial wallets, people have full control on wallets by having private keys, mnemonic seeds. They will have their own banks.

Custodial wallets are nearly same as bank accounts because people can not have full control on their wallets like as with bank accounts.

Sometimes it is worse when exchanges are hacked, shut down, scam exit, or governments require to freeze some accounts from money laundering accusations. Many reasons to make custodial wallets are worse than bank accounts.
3763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees Rise 70% to Continue Record-breaking Streak on: September 17, 2020, 03:03:10 PM
With DeFi, bid events and recent hours claim UNI tokens and sell it on exchanges, people are in hurry and they join the fee race. Each person try to use as high fee as possible to get confirmations. Whenever the fee race is cooling down, the fee will be back to low. I don't think it will fall soon.

Always check fee estimations from https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php

Above 400 Gwei, you can get fast confirmations.
About 280 Gwei, you will have to wait because it is average fee now.

Thank you for your attention and your applications. I will go through your applications and look at your post history but please don't apply if you are posters in local boards and if your application is in local.

One more rule: Only English post will be considered because I don't understand other languages and I don't want to be biassed by Google translator.
3765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is your ETH transaction stuck? on: September 17, 2020, 09:39:05 AM
You can and should check recommended fee (should choose average and above) from https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php.
Choose average if you are not in hurry with your ETH/ ERC20 transactions. Choose fast if you are in hurry.

I don't advice to use fastest because even Fast is overpaid for your fee. Use average and wait for a bit to get it done. Or you can set your fee somewhere in between Average and Fast.

Average rate is 276 Gwei.

I'd like you all to keep an eye out on this thread next week as I may do a bit of a purge, let it be known to all current participants that if you've been putting in low effort and if you're post history is a bit questionable this could be your last week in this campaign. Not too late to change my mind though if you have a good week here.
Thank you for the pre-announcement. I have been waiting for opportunity to join the campaign. Hope that it will have open positions and I won't miss the boat.

Good luck to current participants. 15 posts each week are not high requirement and you should do good when participate in the campaign.

3770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees Rise 70% to Continue Record-breaking Streak on: September 13, 2020, 07:21:09 AM
The average fee (in Gwei) on ETH network has some spikes in August and September but the average fee has not yet increased too much. It increases sure but not increase and cause a disaster for ETH users.

Early today, the average fee is 98 Gwei, now it is 81 Gwei. Fee will be low again. Fast rise fast drop!

The chart is taken from https://blockchair.com/ethereum
3771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees Rise 70% to Continue Record-breaking Streak on: September 13, 2020, 05:43:17 AM
People will be charged with less fee for their transactions if they understand how fees are charged on the network, from demand and supply rule.

ETH/ERC20 - Check and select good Gas price
If you check fee with https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php, the average fee is 98 Gwei, about 4 times than when I made my topic (19.8 Gwei). Fortunately, the average fee today is lower than last 1 or 2 weeks when it stood above 150 Gwei.

You can choose alternative coins for cheaper fees and wait till Ethereum network become less crowded or when Ethereum 2.0 comes to use the chain for you fund movement.
Comparative table on fees among some coins. Pick up one for your need.

1. Always make your email in your profile account "hidden"
2. Use different email (not the email you used when registering at BTT) when you follow bounty. Coz usually your email exposed when following bounty. You guys can use proton mail or mailfence services if there is a bounty where one of the requirements is to include an emaill.
3. Always use browser that support your privacy (firefox or tor browser).

Bitcoin Vault's Whitepaper looks like a joke: https://bitcoinvault.global/pdf/whitepaper/bitcoin-vault-whitepaper-en.pdf

Algorithm is the most basic coin specification but I don't see its in the Whitepaper (I guess it is a fork from Bitcoin).
In the whitepaper, there is no coin specification section.

The only thing Bitcoin Vaults add is Anti-theft (144 blocks to get Confirmed from Alert status).
3777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEFI begin new trending or end soon? on: September 11, 2020, 02:54:39 AM
You can enjoy bounces of DeFi group if you have good entries.

The trend of DeFi will be slowly cooled off so if you make bad entries and don't cut loss, you will see price and balance fall lower and lower. The importance of cut loss is when price falls down and switch from uptrend to downtrend, supports will become resistances. Support points are the points at which you set up your cut-loss orders. If those points are broken, and you do cut-loss, you will have opportunities to buy it back (with higher amount) at the next (lower) support point. Then when it hits lower support point and bounces, you can retrieve your capital and reduce your loss.

Doing cut-loss help you to reduce or equalize your loss even the price is falling.
3778  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: September 11, 2020, 02:39:32 AM
10$ minimum withdrawal is also one of the lowest when you compare with other gambling sites like Stake(20$), Sportsbet(20$) etc. As others have pointed out, the rise in txn fee and the minimum withdrawal are mainly because of the rise in network traffic.
If BTC yes, Roobet has the lowest minimum withdrawal, however, if you use XRP you can withdraw as low as 50 XRP (~$12) from Stake, and 200 TRX (~$7) from Bitcasino.
Anyways, If users have low budget, better use cheap coins at the moment.
Comparative table on fees among some coins. Pick up one for your need. Check and compare fees can help to choose a good alternative coin to withdraw and move fund. Due to risks of 51% attacks, don't choose alternative coins to when you move big fund and never use this alt method to move all your fund with one transaction.

I never move all my fund with bitcoin transactions. Some risks of loss behind: malware, 51% attacks (almost won't happen with Bitcoin network), typo when making transaction (wrong receiving address).

OP, length does not equal quality when it comes to posting.  I just wanted to mention that since the gist of your post could have been written much more succinctly, and frankly what you wrote in the OP was bloated (IMO).
It is a trend of latest topics I see. Lengthy topics. When I see those topics, I try to skim and scan them. Writing something succinctly help readers feel more comfortable to read and don't miss key points in wall of texts.
3780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: September 10, 2020, 01:17:26 PM
I still can’t figure out why Man City are favourites every season, they’ve never even got to a final & Pep hasn’t got to a final since he left Barcelona.
It is hard to understand from the transfer activities of Manchester City so far. They have weak defense system and that weakness destroys their opportunity in Champions League.

In addition, Manchester City's boss hope to much on Pep. but he likely is a problem of the club in Champions League. He is a great coach, certainly but after he left Barcelona, and especially since the day he took over the coach position in Manchester City, he made very strange decisions (start squads) in important knock-out matches.
