Oh well that's the U.S' fault to begin with because they refuse to recognise the Kurds and acknowledge they were an independent people before the Ottoman Empire ( and as it turns out the Mongol Empire now I'm reading more about them ) but there you go, you're digging yourselves into a hole.
3762  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A new religion: Shitlam on: August 27, 2014, 12:24:53 PM
Sorry, but those wackos are using M4 and other American gear.
I understand what was the idea behind it, just it wasn't a bright idea.

To add injury to sorrow, now US and EU will supply weapons to the Kurdish... do they realise it can and most likely will backfire, don't they?

I'd like to know why people seem to think the kurds are a bad choice? That said, considering how aggressive the U.S is to other nations who want to be independent of them I'm not surprised to see this kind of attitude amongst Americans.

LitecoinGuy I remember you were around a couple of years ago, this is positive compared to the bullshit we've had to put up with being thrown around the networks before lol Tongue
3764  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Burger King Dares Obama To Stop It From Fleeing to Canada on: August 27, 2014, 03:24:48 AM
How about we just don't let them back in?

I have zero sympathy for companies who expect handouts to stay in the U.S. I say let them set up in the Bahamas or wherever, then tax the fuck out of them as foreign businesses. That seems way better than our current system of rewards for moving jobs overseas.

Well done, you've just forced out 1000's of legitimate foreign businesses who might have otherwise thought about doing business in the U.S because of a few corporations dodging taxes, unless of course you're suggesting some kind of specific blacklist which would make a bit more sense.

Seriously though there are already companies that are refusing to do business with U.S citizens and boycotting them because of the regulations their governments have it's going to be even worse for the U.S if they make themselves unattractive as a tax option and deliberately target foreigners.
It would be tricky of course. But there has to be some kind of disincentive. Without one I see no reason for most businesses to remain in the U.S.  Not that many companies pay anything close to the stated tax rate.

We could always threaten to kill their corporate leaders if they leave Tongue

Perhaps what you mean to say is, there has to be some kind of incentive for them to stay; one such incentive is to loosen up on the empire-level regulation and tax-rates for everyone, so people can actually breathe easy and do, well, business again.

There is one alternative, however, if nothing budges: the complete socialization of business.  Of all I've read on the subject, that has a 100% chance to turn out very badly for everyone involved; by very badly, I mean widespread cannibalism because everyone's starving and can't do a thing about it.

The reason why "don't let them back in" is not a valid disincentive is because, if they wanted to be in, they wouldn't be leaving in the first place; you may not have noticed, but America's not exactly on the road to the golden ages.  To further tax them even while they don't operate in America is like taxing a Swedish company because they might be an American company someday; if they're not American anymore, leave them alone.  If I was them, I'd liquidate and start fresh; it's reasons like that America was formed in the first place, taxation without representation and a fucked up banking system.

The best part about this "If you don't like it then leave" mentality everyone who is for this kind of system we have now is pretty soon everybody will and they'll take all their capital with them and soon they'll all be begging for us to come back to get the economy moving again since they have no one to tax Tongue I know I'm probably just going to fuck off to Japan if I ever earn enough that I break the tax threshold in my country, why stay here with the hyperinflated housing prices when I can get a detached house for half of what it costs here?

If you think this is bad, you should have been here when people were really negative and screaming about ACIS's and 51% attacks as well as how Bitcoin was going to crash and it's a bubble. We must have got that spam for the first year or so I was there, the peace and quiet is actually nice.

No gods, No Masters Wink

Also, I know what kind of Anarchist I am now, Anarcho-Individualist over here Tongue Anarchists have nothing against organisation and communities working together, it's when it comes in the form of governments and individuals trying to take over everything by force that it becomes a problem.
3768  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your dream political system on: August 26, 2014, 03:30:07 PM
That's the whole point of Direct Democracy and other systems like it, they're designed for small government, not massive sprawling empires, you also had the Greek city states which elected their own kings rather than having themselves as one country. It also isn't anything to do with directly ruling anything, what it means is that citizens have the right to vote against actual laws passed by politicians, so while the politicians can operate in the same manner as the democracies we experience do where there are just election cycles at any time if they collect a certain amount of signatures to stop the law.

The Swiss are the main ones I can think of that use Direct Democracy today, so in theory, if all our countries had Direct Democracy, we could have stopped the Iraq invasion from ever happening with a referendum.

3769  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OpenBazaar.org - Decentralized network that allows for peer to peer commerce on: August 26, 2014, 01:24:12 PM
I can't wait, I have a couple items for sale on eBay right now and wanting to do a bulk sale but am worried i get paypal screwed.

I've just been looking at this and they have multi-sig payments as well as an arbiter ( escrow ) system, all of this looks very nice.

As for making another silkroad, they've released the code open source so people will inevitably do what they want with it.

Confirmed my first payment as well, thanks! I think I'll stick with this sig campaign the posting requirements are lower and the payouts work out about the same just weekly.
3771  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OpenBazaar.org - Decentralized network that allows for peer to peer commerce on: August 26, 2014, 10:54:38 AM
The more the better Zolace, I want to see way more merchant tools get into action, we're relying far too much on third party payment processors when we don't need them because of the blockchain.
3772  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OpenBazaar.org - Decentralized network that allows for peer to peer commerce on: August 26, 2014, 10:46:31 AM
I spotted this ages ago! Yeah, they've been talking about beta on their site.
3773  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why "Good Cops" Stay Silent: The Persecution of Officer Adam Basford on: August 26, 2014, 10:30:54 AM
I think the problem is that many politicians come from law professions so that means if they prosecute any police officers and do something about the corruption they'll get taken down as well because of all the links they have, same with politicians with the many many links to corporations and banks they won't do anything about the financial.
3774  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A new religion: Shitlam on: August 26, 2014, 03:54:03 AM
You ought to hear the neocons on parade right now saying how this new Muslim Caliphate is being heeded by Muslims worldwide and that American cities are going to burn. It totally reminds me of all the hype leading into the last two major conflicts.

Being of a different ethnicity or religion is what political leaders have been using for centuries now to get otherwise rational people to kill each other, the basic warcry whenever they start up the propaganda is "They're different from us! So fuck the facts! Lets just go kill them" they're trying to build up the war propaganda for another invasion in the middle east, most likely Iran where they'll fabricate some convincing evidence that the largest percentage of Muslim terrorists are coming from countries like it.
3775  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel vs Islam/Palestine/Iran/ Isis/Al-Qaeda/Syria on: August 26, 2014, 02:09:14 AM
This whole conversation about who's right and wrong is fucking moronic when you consider the fact that both sides have been killing each other you murderous sociopaths, in fact it reminds me a lot of mainstream politics, take one side ignoring all their flaws and go around accusing anybody who disagrees with you on being on the opposite side.

As far as I'm concerned Israel and Palestine can both fuck off, maybe we should take people who can't settle their differences through negotiation to a different planet and let them fuck themselves over there.
3776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dissapointed about using bitcoin as a currency, it really should improve on: August 26, 2014, 01:19:22 AM
I really love the idea of cryptocurrencies, but lately I have been extremely frustrated with the lack of infrastructure in place for Bitcoin nevermind altcoins there are very few options out there on the internet for the kind of proper standalone merchant tools that I've been thinking about and because current solutions involve pegging Bitcoin directly to the U.S Dollar any time an exchange goes down everybody runs around in a panic trying to fix it all.
3777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the Free market has failed Bitcoin needs a Central authority and Global ID. on: August 26, 2014, 01:10:33 AM
Bitcoin isn't fucking stagnating and neither are cryptocurrencies, have you seen the volume coming in? This is actually something that was theorised years ago back when I first joined at Bitcoin was at $50 or so and people were crying about the volatility. What's happened now is because we've got a ton of people coming in the price is actually beginning to stabilise compared to before as a lot of new money has come in and you can't have people throwing a few thousand at the market and then screwing with the price.

Also, you're proposing to 'fix' this 'problem' is essentially an organised oligarchy and I've had enough of that kind of bullshit so fuck you.
3778  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your dream political system on: August 26, 2014, 12:58:12 AM
Why the fuck haven't you put Direct Democracy or City States in the poll?
3779  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone else have recurring nightmares about the NSA and other USG bureaucrats? on: August 26, 2014, 12:14:10 AM
If it makes you feel any better I discovered awhile ago RL that one of my friends who's actually really smart ended up working for the Bank of England, trust me, it's not paranoia just a weird take your dreams are having on the whole situation, I'm pretty sure everyone is weirded out by what's going on in our governments even if they won't talk about it much.

Well then again after reading more carefully, it might be you overreacting but it's certainly nothing to be weirded out over.
3780  Economy / Services / Re: Get Up to 0.024BTC every week on your signature! [EXTRA 0.001 on Each Referral] on: August 25, 2014, 10:58:54 AM
Why Jr. Members aren't allowed ? Even if their signature has not as many privileges (color, size), announcers would still be more visible at a way lower cost.

It's because too many of them join purely for the sig campaigns and end up spamming old posts etc. to bump their post count, not surprised a lot of sig campaigns are ditching junior members now.
