I think we all deserve to see a final between PSG and City , right ? This will a true clash between the best team right now but you can never count Real Madrid out even if I doubt they can make it again this year so PSG vs City should be the one. Favorites ? Hard to chose one but I would like a surprise this year.
I think Man City going against PSG would be a one sided affair even with Messi in there. If you want a real clash then going against the current UCL champions which is Real Madrid would be the best match up for Manchester City at the finals imho.  And remember, Real Madrid eliminated Guardiola's boys at the semis last year. So they'll surely be raring to go if given the opportunity to play them again. And the match being a finals match...? Goose bumps. Now this is the truth, and it goes back to what I've been saying about City: the all-conquering team with the deepest squad depth, the best points per game ration, best goals per game ratio... and creeping up on European experience. The bookies rate them favourites in every competition, for 4 years running. That's not for nothing. So yes, City in the final, deserved, if they play as well, but I'd want to watch Real vs them any day in preference of PSG. But that's all moot. Liverpool will be in the final again =p |

@buwaytress, it is not so much a problem in the price, but a much bigger problem is that most people do not believe in Bitcoin in order to invest in the long term. I believe that the majority will still wait as close as possible to the halving, and as always, they will start investing on the wave of some new FOMO. If I were to ask people the question of choosing between 2 possible scenarios when it comes to investing in Bitcoin - the first would be to invest now, wait at least 2-3 years and then sell, and the second would be to wait until the bull run starts and then sell in the next 2-3 months.
It seems to me that the latter is the option that many would choose and I can't say that I don't understand that way of thinking, although long-term investing is always more profitable, at least when it comes to Bitcoin. Of course, this may be true for those who do not look at Bitcoin exclusively through the prism of profit, but also some kind of personal financial sovereignty.
Yeah, I'm beginning to notice that the real holders actually are very much older people OR people who got in extremely early and have just been selling to improve their lives, keeping as much as possible and reupping after ATHs. Your take also matches with what I believe to be true, and this is from personal circumstantial evidence but the newer investors are really just speculators in disguise I'd say. And their actual utility (using Bitcoin to pay for stuff, etc.) tends to correlate with that behaviour. |

Well for me, Marseille and Lille were the teams that I thought were going to stand out the most in the French league, I thought they were going to face PSG, because a team like Marseille has everything it takes to be able to stop a team like PSG, my epseranzans changed in that direction, and it's not because I don't want PSG to stay in the league again, not at all, I just want a rival to come out that doesn't make it easy for them like it was last season, to That is very important to me, just as I think that for now these teams will hardly get out of where they are stuck, and PSG the only one that can give them a fight is any team from the UCL. To be fair, the expectations on them are more or less the same every season. Even last season, everyone expected Lille to fall apart (and they actually did I guess, if you consider what they'd achieved the season before), it was a last-gasp effort and PSG had a hell of a blip of a season. Monaco I think have been on a slow and arduous road to recovery but I think they're just suspect at the back now, but this season I do think Marseille (and Lens) are still unbeaten. What are you talking about PSG not staying in the league? Ha. |

Not me but I know how it affects kids. Back in my day, game companies in Japan made RPG-styled cards (Dragonball characters, for example), that they'd then sell in packs or machines (insert a coin, turn the machine tomble, a random card comes out).
Now I know there are already collectibles like Panini and trading cards but these were different, on another RPG level. You'd buy packs of cards hoping to get a special edition "skin" for your character (literally, a skin of plastic holographic card atop another card)... or differently powered up versions of the same character just to gain an edge over opponents if you played these cards against them.
Definitely encouraged a lot of people my age then to spend lunch money and gamble with each other to buy more of the cards.
It even tempted me a few times too... and just like gamblers everyone had a theory of how to game the system. In casinos people are sure of a strategy, or some way to read the machine or algorithm. With these cards, we discussed how to turn machine knobs, how to rub the cards inside the packs to "Feel" for the special material. How to read the serial numbers on the packs etc.

When I was a newbie back then, the second figure checks out though. I felt like "HODL" was just simply keep it held for a week or a month, but nah I was wrong. Now I am here, it does not really feel that much of a journey now as you described since it is just my side hobby to trade crypto. Not trying to be successful since I am to be successful "elsewhere" anyway.
These most certainly aren't universally accepted timeframes, but here's what I think: Long term is several halving events, medium term is either a little while after one halving or two, and finally the short term I see any time really that you can make a trade. So, holding to me is the former of the three. Something I've talked about before too. When you think about bonds even or bank deposits, maturity after a year is considered very short term. Medium term is 3 to 5 years (which incidentally is roughly what a halving cycle is)... Long term, and this was in the generation before, would involve thinking of bottom limits of a decade. And it tallies in a weird way, even given how the economic cycle since the 70s is about a decade or so (judging from a crisis period standpoint). Perhaps it makes sense that people used to investing literally a lifetime of savings or govt bonds are probably the ones actually holding. Not meaning to bash on snowflakes. |

If he were to leave for England yet again, what team do you think would be his most probable destination ? I really don't know but would he be willing to take a side like Leicester City or West Ham, those are the teams that are looking likely to get rid of their coaches next, if their poor form should continue.
I would love to have him back in the EPL though, if not for anything at least because of those war of words with other managers and derby matches dramas, you've gotta miss those.
I can't read his mind anymore, I don't think he's picky now though. I think it's whether a club wants him or not now, he'll probably love the idea of getting another midtable team with no European history to go and win a cup or two, it's what he does best -- put himself and his club into a sense of siege mentality, backs to the wall, and go fight all the haters, win something. I do miss him, for sure. Mellowed but still love to hear him. I actually think that he is at his best when managing smaller club where he can park the bus and play counter attacking football. He also has a way of bringing out maximum from his players in first and second season. After that it is usually fall in performance or club owners not happy watching their team defend all the time. West ham would be perfect for him, if his ego would allow a move like that.

You get suggested all kinds of names, bundles, free domains even (yeah until at least mid 2000s domains were even free if you signed up for web hosting supported by GeoCities style ad placements all over the place), can't remember the name of it but I had dozens of sites just signed up for free using that service. Yes and will continue to be so, to the point you could almost play blindly (don't take my word for it) and just use H2H, form and odds value to pick winners haha. Physically, these teams are on par or perhaps even slightly better overall, when compared to some European leagues, at least to my observation. Georgia's clubs have also won me quite a bit of money in UEFA comps, same as Armenia (and arguably Azerbaijan is just next door) -- they're robust, physical. Who could have thought that Hungary with one round remaining already will have guaranteed themselves 1st place in group of death. On the other hand, it shows attitude of some teams towards Nations League. I hope that @buwaytress made some nice money backing Hungary  . It wasn't bad day for me. If you are in this for the next cycle, what is the worst that could happen even if we revisit 2020 lows of sub 4k? I buy now and I lose, temporarily up to 80% value over the mext couple of years running up to new ATH.
Best case scenario and we are near or at the bottom and then when do we panic fomo buy? 25k? 30k? But if we did not budge now sub 19k, why wouldn't we fear 25/30 as bull traps?

They also shut down noise from an ex employee a few years back who went whistleblower, claiming their tech is laughably poor and unscientific.
- The idea that Bitcoin guarantees anonymity is misled, was never claimed, and disproven publicly from the days of Silk Road. Why do we need Chainalysis to tell us something they really didn't have a hand in helping educate about? Think it's really just Bloomberg readers who still think so.

I disagree with you on this, over the last few years PSG have had great confidence in the team and the players have been united with each other and that has helped them remain top in the French Ligue1
We must have been following different news then or even seen them play different games. Sure, they swagger around a lot in Ligue 1 but when your closest rivals drop points all day long, you generally can win the title at a canter (ignoring the amazing team built by Lille that fell apart anyway after winning). Should see the way the team plays sometimes when down a goal, or under pressure. Shoulders down, faces giving up, mad at each other, ignoring each other, no communication between the stars. Not saying it's a common occurrence but I've only watched a handful of games, enough to say that's not (always) a team that's united and that trust each other. |

Re specials yeah. Yeah I see them several hours before too. Think yesterday 3/4 hours before the games started (Nations League special). I think slam's problem though is these matches start 8pm GMT, which is extremely late for Asia. I just got back from there and remember thinking to myself, yeah, no way I'm waking 3/4am to see games, can barely make it past midnight! So counting back, if slam's in China time like most of SEA then specials only come out 11pm earliest. If he's in India, could be a bit better... 8pm? But we don't get much Indians I notice on Clubtalk. Or even here on the forum really, serious ones anyway. Strange given how much I know they gamble heh... maybe not so much for football huh? Re Azerbaijan, I mentioned a couple of times before in Nations League that I've been backing Central Asian + Caucasus teams quite a bit when paired up with East European teams -- obviously there must be a lot of betting action with the actual European teams, but Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, they've been performing in Nations League. Don't take them when odds are bad, but away especially, it's not like Slovakia is super reliable either (lost twice to... guess it, Kazakhstan!). I take same approach in Europa and Conference now UEFA membership is really expanding! This will be super value for several more years. |

I have a question for all of you, after this little break and with the majority of position settled, if you are a team principal what you do? You start to prove 2023 piece or you keep upgrading the 2022 car? I'm not an expert on here but if I were to be a team principal, I would focus on 2023 now because that's where I could make the most impact instead of this year, 2022 since it's not gonna make any dent or significant changes for sure. I would make sure that I could carry over the progress that I have for 2022 to 2023. Yeah, I know mathematically the season's not determined yet but realistically, it's like trying to catch City with 10 games left to go and hoping they lose half of them (sorry for the football analogy). I'd definitely focus on 2023, and send a B team of engineers to continue work on 2022 and prove to me it's worth salvaging, perhaps even to take over in the new season. By the way, if we talk about the track in Marina Bay, neither Verstappen nor Red Bull have ever won on it in its history. I wonder if Max's winning streak will be interrupted? Moreover, he has been on the podium as a winner for 5 stages in a row??? By the way, the speed record on this track belongs to Leclerc Interesting to learn. AR is augmented, think of layers on existing "world". VR is completely digital. Hence the AR device needed to augment what you can already see.
The metaverse concept everyone's bandying about is completely VR (virtual), though I suppose AR could be used to bring aspects of it out into those wanting to mix the experience.
Have to say though, practical versions of metaverse casinos actually existed since the late 1990s... I should know, my very first online casinos were installed from CD software... William Hill and another one I don't recall had a huge virtual casino experience, avatars, chatrooms, suites, VIP rooms, restaurants, etc.
It does seem like it's moved away from that now. Live dealers streamed in real-time, preferred to actual gamblers mingling around in lobbies and tables as chatting avatars. So I think that while the tech exists to renew the old idea and make it better, is that what gamblers really want? Is there even a market anymore for it? Social app users and gamblers, they're not necessarily the same group of people.

Damn Ulven, not bad. All my picks went to purgatory and I did miss out with Austria (not a bad scoreline really and still value can't deny) but surprisingly, ended up well in the positive with all my bets on Sportsbet placed during or right after the Fantasy chat Trofo had. 1 out of 2 upsets is really not bad.
